  • This study focuses on the problems of traditional ethics in the textbooks of 7th Moral Education Curriculum. As the fact that Traditional Ethics is an advanced elective of high school curriculum shows, 'traditional ethics' is an important part of moral education curriculum. Unfortunately, many have maintained that there are significant problems in the contents of traditional ethics described in moral education curriculum. The problems mentioned are: encyclopedic enumeration of the contents, incorrect information, content repetitions, placing too much one-sided emphasis on confucianism, lack of organic link between Korean and oriental ethics, and unlikeliness of accomplishing subject's objectives. This study raises more fundamental problems. The problems pointed out are as follows. First, the definition of traditional ethics in the textbooks is problematic. Second, there is a lack of examination on 'tradition'. Third, there exists a naive understanding that western ethics or thoughts are the causes of all problems and oriental traditional ethics is the cure-all for them. Fourth, viewpoints of orientalism or occidentalism are widespread in describing traditional ethics.

  • The evaluation of students' computational thinking begins with the evaluation of knowledge about the concepts and principles of computing. In this study, we analyzed the differences in teachers' perceptions depending on the description method of the bebras challenge questions to evaluate computer science knowledge. First, we classified the questions into two types depending on whether computer science terms were included or not. Also we made a computational thinking questionnaire with two types of questions and surveyed 72 major teachers. As a result, teachers expressed the opinion that the evaluation questions that revealed computer science terms were appropriate as evaluation questions for information subjects. They also perceived it as more helpful in assessing computational thinking and coding skills. Through the results of this study, we suggested that the way the questions are worded is important in the process of assessing students' understanding of computer science concepts and computational thinking skills.

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate the professional level of the Korean non-physics major middle-school science teachers in 'force and motion' content knowledge. For the study, nine science teachers who majored in chemistry, biology, or earth science were sampled from middle-schools in a big city in Korea. The physics concept test-tool (subjective type), which the authors developed, were administered, and then followed by in-depth interviews. The research findings are as follows: Firstly, non-physics major science teachers' correct answer rate in physics knowledge test of secondary school level was not so high that they may have difficulty in teaching correct concepts in physics to middle-school students. Secondly, some teachers show that they can not apply some physics concepts from one to another situation. That means that they may have difficulty in teaching physics conceptual application in various situations to students.

  • Speaker recognition refers to a technology that analyzes voice frequencies that are different for each individual and compares them with pre-stored voices to determine the identity of the person. Deep learning-based speaker recognition is being applied to many fields, and pet robots are one of them. However, the hardware performance of pet robots is very limited in terms of the large memory space and calculations of deep learning technology. This is an important problem that pet robots must solve in real-time interaction with users. Lightening deep learning models has become an important way to solve the above problems, and a lot of research is being done recently. In this paper, we describe the results of research on lightweight speaker recognition for pet robots by constructing a voice data set for pet robots, which is a specific command type, and comparing the results of models using residuals. In the conclusion, we present the results of the proposed method and Future research plans are described.
