Condition evaluation method of terminal station facilities for hydrological observation system (수문관측시스템 단말국 설비 성능분석을 통한 상태평가 방안)

  • In case of hydrological observation system, Life time of facilities is different with operating environment and frequency of use. So, the durable year of the facilities is only considered to replace the facilities at present. Thus, system management is needed economical assesment based on condition evaluation through performance analysis of facilities. This research makes a proposal for scientific condition evaluation table through physical assessment, performance analysis assessment, durable years assessment about satellite communication facilities being used in K-water. Consequentially, reasonable replacement plan is established for satellite communication facilities.

An Energy-Efficient Deployment Strategy for Micro Base Station in Wireless Cellular Systems (무선 셀룰라 시스템에서 에너지 효율적인 마이크로 기지국 배치 방안)

  • In this paper, we study the energy-efficient deployment strategy for micro base station (BS) in wireless cellular systems. Firstly, we formulate a general problem pertaining to total energy consumption minimization with the requirement of area spectral efficiency (ASE). We start from an observation about the correlation between the area covered by an additional micro BS and the increment of ASE. Under such an observation, we propose an efficient greedy micro BS deployment algorithm. Simulations show that the proposed deployment algorithm can deploy micro BSs with a slight performance reduction comparing with the optimal solution.

PIMD Performance Test of Active Baseband Antenna (능동형 기지국안테나의 PIMD 특성분석)

  • As the mobile services have been increased, the interference of the neighboring base stations is increased and the PIMD(Passive Inter-Modulation Distortion) has been a main issue for the design of base station antenna systems. In this paper, it is proposed the PIMD test method for the active basestation antenna whose radiators are directly connected with main active parts including amplifiers, and we presents its test results using a developed active basestation antenna. From the results, the active basestation antenna has the better PIMD performance than conventional passive structure by 8.4dB. The proposed PIMD test method can be used to get the accurate PIMD test result because the test environment is very similar with real basestation.

  • This paper analyzes the orbit determination results using azimuth and elevation angle from ground tracking data, which has the standard data interface format, GEOS-C. The ground tracking data is very useful for initial orbit determination after a satellite launch. In this paper, the quality of the measurement data has been investigated using a variety of real tracking passes, compared with the high precision orbit data of KOMPSAT-2. The accumulated tracking data from consecutive satellite-ground passes is processed for orbit determination using least square method. The accuracy of orbit determination result is also presented.

  • The office data for telecommunication switching systems included system configuration data, processing data, maintenance and administration data on a very large scale. Those data are dependent on functions of the system and the place of system installation. The effect of errors of office data is very serious. In order to reduce time and effort on the system development phase and to enhance system reliability, in this paper we proposed a data analysis and design method for automatically generating office data that are dependent on installation capability and system configuration of the swiching office.

위성항법 지상국 및 탐색구조단말기 기술개발 및 시험

  • 이 논문에서는 신호감시국, 상향링크국, 감시제어 시스템으로 구성된 위성항법 지상국과 탐색구조단말기 관련 기술내용과 그 시험에 대한 내용을 기술하였다. 위성항법 지상국 시스템 및 탐색구조 단말기 기술 개발은 향상된 위치기반서비스와 재난시 신속한 탐색구조 서비스 제공을 위한 것으로 그 핵심기술 개발을 주요 목적으로 한다. 이를 통하여 개발된 신호감시국용 고정밀 위성항법 수신기 기술은 고정밀 전문용 위성항법 단말기의 상용화의 추진하며 감시제어시스템은 GPS 및 갈릴레오 신호 감시 데이터를 위성항법 통제센터(GNSS Control Center: GCC)에 제공하고, 향상된 위치 정확도를 제공하며, 위성항법 신호감시국의 장비를 감시 제어하며, GPS 및 갈릴레오 서비스를 위한 가용성을 제공하는 것이다. 상향링크국에서는 다중 중궤도 위성 추적시스템과 상향링크 데이터 처리를 목적으로 한다. 탐색구조 단말기 기술개발은 항법 칩셋을 탑재한 2세대 탐색구조 단말기를 개발 완료 함으로써 신속하고 정확한 조난구조가 가능하게 하는 단말기를 국내외 시장에 내놓을 수 있게 하였으며, 2세대 탐색구조 단말기의 소형화 저전력화에 성공하여 상용화 및 국제인증을 완료하였다. 이 논문에서는 이러한 기술개발 내용과 그검증을 위한 시험 결과에 대하여 소개하고자 한다.

A Study on the Configuration and Operation Result of a Simple Ground Receiving Station for Satellite System Education (위성시스템 교육을 위한 간이 지상수신국 구성과 운용 결과)

  • In this paper, we present a simple ground receiving station as an educational method for a satellite system. Our system is produced similarly to the existing fixed ground station in terms of function by using satellite communication technology and related software commonly used in the amateur radio field. In addition, we conducted operation test to receive signals from operating satellites and confirmed the possibility of using them as a way to educate satellite systems, such as understanding ground station systems through satellite reception experience and satellite state information acquisition, and further designing satellite systems.

  • Network performance is degraded when the UE is disconnected because the outage occurs at the base station in a mobile communication system. Therefore it is important to detect and recover the outage. In this paper, detecting the outage base station by using the KPI and the network scanning in the neighbor base station, and increasing the transmit power and changing the frequency band to recovery the outage scheme is proposed. The proposed scheme uses not only the KPI of the base station but also the network scanning of the neighbor base stations to detect the outage base station, so that it is possible to detect the outage base station more accurately. In addition, when the outage occurred, the neighbor base station changes the transmit power and frequency band to recover the outage with less signal interference.

Analysis for Measured Results in EMF Strength Exposure Level under Base Station Environment for Mobile Communication (이동 통신용 기지국 환경에서 전자파 강도 노출량 측정 결과 분석)

  • This paper measured EMF strength of the duty measurement radio station(77 station) and the non-duty measurement radio station(41 station) of mobile communication base station in Jeonbuk region. As the result of measurement, it generally reveals that EMF is highly low level compare to the human protection guideline. And It is regarded as level that the national people who live close to the mobile communication base station don't have to worry about electromagnetic wave. This paper provides comparative analyses categorized by the duty measurement station and the non-duty measurement station. The results reveals that the average value and the maximum value of the non-duty measurement station preferably was higher than all the duty measurement station. It is thought that the EMF exposure strength of the national people is caused by approach of station antenna rather than antenna power. Consequently this paper suggests that standard of the antenna power(exceed 30 W), standard of antenna height(exceed 10 m) specified by Radio Regulation Act enforcement ordinance, legal basis for mobile communication base station have to be changed.

A Priority Packet Forwarding for TCP Performance Improvement in Mobile W based Networks with Packet Buffering (모바일 IP 패킷 버퍼링 방식에서 TCP 성능향상을 위한 패킷 포워딩 우선권 보장 방안)

  • To prevent performance degradation of TCP due to packet losses in the smooth handoff by the route optimization extension of Mobile IP protocol, a buffering of packets at a base station is needed. A buffering of packets at a base station recovers those packets dropped during handoff by forwarding buffered packets at the old base station to the mobile user. But, when the mobile user moves to a congested base station in a new foreign subnetwork, those buffered packets forwarded by the old base station are dropped and TCP transmission performance of a mobile user in the congested base station degrades due to increased congestion by those forwarded burst packets. In this paper, considering the general case that a mobile user moves to a congested base station, we propose a Priority Packet Forwarding to improve TCP performance in mobile networks. In the proposed scheme, without modification to Mobile IP protocol, the old base station marks a buffered packet as a priority packet during handoff. And priority queue at the new congested base station schedules the priority packet firstly. Simulation results show that proposed Priority Packet Forwarding can improve TCP transmission performance more than Implicit Priority Packet Forwarding and RED (Random Early Detection) schemes.
