열처리된 CuGaSe2 단결정 박막의 점결함연구 (A study on point defect for thermal annealed CuGaSe2 single crystal thin film)

  • A stoichiometric mixture of evaporating materials for CuGaSe2 single crystal thin films was prepared from horizontal electric furnace. Using extrapolation method of X-ray diffraction patterns for the polycrystal CuGaSe2, it was found tetragonal structure whose lattice constant at and co were 5.615 ${\AA}$ and 11.025 ${\AA}$, respectively. To obtain the single crystal thin films, CuGaSe2 mixed crystal was deposited on thoroughly etched semi-insulating GaAs(100) substrate by the hot wall epitaxy (MWE) system. The source and substrate temperatures were Slot and 450$^{\circ}C$, respectively. The crystalline structure of the single crystal thin films was investigated by the photoluminescence and double crystal X-ray diffraction (UXD). The carrier density and mobility of CuGaSe2 single crystal thin films measured with Hall effect by van der Pauw method are 5.0l${\times}$10$\^$17/ cm$\^$-3/ and 245 $\textrm{cm}^2$/V$.$s at 293K, respectively. The temperature dependence of the energy band gap of the CuGaSe2 obtained from the absorption spectra was well described by the Varshni's relation, Eg(T) = 1.7998 eV - (8.7489${\times}$10$\^$-4/ eV/K)T$^2$/(T + 335 K. After the as-grown CuGaSe2 single crystal thin films was annealed in Cu-, Se-, and Ca-atmospheres, the origin of point defects of CuGaSe2 single crystal thin films has been investigated by the photoluminescence(PL) at 10 K The native defects of V$\_$CU/, V$\_$Se/, Cu$\_$int/, and Se$\_$int/ obtained by PL measurements were classified as a donors or accepters type. And we concluded that the heat-treatment in the Cu-atmosphere converted CuGaSe2 single crystal thin films to an optical n-type. Also, we confirmed that Ga in CuGaSe2/GaAs did not form the native defects because Ga in CuGaSe2 single crystal thin films existed in the form of stable bonds.

황해동부의 대륙붕전선의 구조와 부유생물의 분포 (Structure of Shelf Front and Distribution of Plankotns in the Eastern Part of the Yellow Sea)

  • 하계에 형성되는 전선은 외양과 조류에 의한 해저난류로 연직혼합이 일어나는 곳의 경제역이며, 그 위치는 G($35^{\circ}31^'N$)와 S-line ($35^{\circ}25^'$)의 $G_3$$G_4,\;S_3$$S_4$사이였다. 동계에는 서해 전역이 저층의 난류 혼합과 표면의 대류작용으로 인하여 전 해역에서 연직혼합이 일어나므로 하계의 구조와 같은 전선은 명확하게 형성되지 않았다. 8월은 전선을 경계로 하여 phytoplankton 종별 분포의 차이가 나타나는 현상을 보였으나 이와 같은 차이는 2월에는 볼 수 없다. 8월 zooplankton의 분포는 전선을 경계로 연안 정점들에서는 Pseudoeuphausia latifrons, Acetes chinensis가 배타적으로 출현하였다. 2월 zooplankton의 분포는 Corycaeus affinis, Centrophages abdominalis가 주로외 양정점들에 우점적으로 출현하고 이 두 종과는 달리 Paracalanus parvus는 주로 연안 수역에 우점적으로 출현하였다.

  • The secondary electron emission coefficient $({\gamma})$ of the cathode is an important factor for improving the discharge characteristics of AC-PDPs because of its close relationship to discharge voltage. In AC-PDPs, MgO is most widely used as a surface protective layer. In this experimental, we have investigated the electronic structure of the energy band structure of the MgO layer responsible for the high ${\gamma}$. The MgO layers have been deposited by electron beam evaporation method, where the $O_2$ partial pressures have been varied as 0, $5.2{\times}10^{-5}$ torr, $1.0{\times}10^{-4}$ torr, and $4.1{\times}10^{-4}$ torr, in this experiment. It is noted that work function that is energy gap between surface and first defect level of MgO layer has the lowest value for the highest O2 partial pressure of $4.1^{\ast}10^{-4}$ Torr.

Oligomeric Structures Determine the Biochemical Characteristics of Human Nucleoside Diphosphate Kinases

  • Major human Nucleoside diphosphate kinases (NDPKs) exist as hetero-oligomers, consisting of NDPK-A and NDPK-B, rather than homo-oligomer. To investigate their biological function depending on the oligomeric structure in vivo, we characterized the biochemical properties of cellular NDPK. Cellular NDPKs, which are made up of a unique combination of isoforms, were purified from human erythrocyte and placenta. We found that cellular NDPK and recombinant isoforms NDPKs have their own distinct biochemical properties in autophosphorylation, stability toward heat or urea, and DNA binding. Cellular NDPK was found to have unique characteristics rather than the expected additive properties of recombinant isoforms. The mutations in the dimeric interface of NDPK-B (R34G, N69H or K135L) caused defective DNA binding and simultaneously reduced the enzymatic stability These results suggest that the oligomeric interaction could play a major role in the stability of catalytic domain and might be related to the regulation of various cellular functions of NDPK.

Quality Characteristics of Frozen Stored Mungbean Starch Gels Added with Sucrose Fatty Acid Ester

  • This study was conducted to investigate the quality characteristics of frozen stored mungbean starch gels added with sucrose fatty acid ester (SE). The study showed a delay of gelatinization of mungbean starch by SE addition through the measurements conducted by using Rapid Visco Analyzer (RVA) and Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC). In the color of SE added frozen stored gels, lightness (L) and yellowness (b) values were increased compared to those of values measured from freshly prepared gel, whereas redness (a) value was decreased. The addition of 1% SE on mungbean starch gel prevented the color change during frozen storage. Rupture stress and rupture energy of frozen stored gel was higher than those of freshly prepared gel, whereas rupture strain of frozen stored gel was lower than that of freshly prepared gel. The addition of 1% SE on mungbean starch gel prevented the change of rupture characteristics during frozen storage. Texture profile analysis(TPA) characteristics revealed a significant change of the gel texture during frozen storage by showing an increase of hardness of the frozen stored gels compared to the freshly prepared gels with newly discovered fracturability, which resulted to show a large difference of gel texture by showing the disappearance of adhesiveness and large reduction of cohesivenes. The addition of 1% SE on mungbean starch gel prevented the change of TPA characteristics during frozen storage. Scanning electron micrographs showed that network structure of frozen stored gel was more rough than that of freshly prepared gel, and the addition of 1% SE on mungbean starch gel could suppress the breakdown of network structure. Thus the addition of 1.0% SE on mungbean starch gel was appropriate method for remaining gel characteristics during frozen storage.

Tandem Mass Spectrometric Evidence for the Involvement of a Lysine Basic Side Chain in the Coordination of Zn(II) Ion within a Zinc-bound Lysine Ternary Complex

  • We present the tandem mass spectrometry applications carried out to elucidate the coordination structure of Zn(II) bound lysine ternary complexes, $(Zn+Lys+Lys-H)^+$, which is a good model system to represent a simple (metallo)enzyme-substrate complex (ES). In particular, experimental efforts were focused on revealing the involvement of a lysine side chain ${\varepsilon}$-amino group in the coordination of $Zn^{2+}$ divalent ions. MS/MS fragmentation pattern showed that all the oxygen species within a complex fell off in the form of $H_2O$ in contrast to those of other ternary complexes containing amino acids with simple side chains (4-coordinate geometries, Figure 1a), suggesting that the lysine complexes have different coordination structures from the others. The participation of a lysine basic side chain in the coordination of Zn(II) was experimentally evidenced in MS/MS for $N{\varepsilon}$-Acetyl-L-Lys Zn(II) complexes with acetyl protection groups as well as in MS/MS for the ternary complexes with one $NH_3$ loss, $(Zn+Lys+Lys-NH_3-H)^+$. Detailed structures were predicted using ab initio calculations on $(Zn+Lys+Lys-H)^+$ isomers with 4-, 5-, and 6-coordinate structures. A zwitterionic 4-coordinate complex (Figure 7d) and a 5-coordinate structure with distorted bipyramidal geometry (Figure 7b) are found to be most plausible in terms of energy stability and compatibility with the experimental observations, respectively.

Curcumin과 관련 성분들의 산화방지활성과 세포독성 분석 및 구조와 활성 연관성 조사 (Antioxidant and cytotoxic activities of curcumin and its analogs: An exploration of structure-activity relationships)

  • 본 연구에서는 curcumin과 관련 구조물질인 ferulic acid, DBM, THC을 사용하여 이들의 산화방지활성과 세포독성을 나타내는 활성과 구조 간의 연관성을 분석하였다. 각종 라디칼 소거활성과 지질산화 억제 반응에서 DBM은 거의 활성을 나타내지 못해, methoxy phenolic기가 중요한 기능 구조로 나타났으며 α, β-unsaturated carbonyl기도 이들의 산화방지 활성에 일부 관여하는 것으로 보인다. Curcumin 유도체들의 세포독성과 이들의 산화방지활성 간에는 연관성이 거의 없었으며, ROS의 생성에는 α, β-unsaturated carbonyl기가 중요한 역할을 담당하나 세포독성의 직접적인 원인이 아닌 것으로 판단된다. 세포독성 유발에는 β-diketone 구조가 중요한 역할을 하였으며, SOD/catalase 등에 의한 구조의 안정화가 세포독성을 더욱 강화시키는 것으로 판단된다. Curcumin과 ferulic acid의 조합처리에 의해 독성이 증가한 반면, DBM과 curcumin을 같이 처리 시 독성이 상쇄되었으며 THC과 curcumin은 서로 부가적인 세포독성을 나타냈다.

Electrodeposition of Ni-W/Al2O3 Nano-Composites and the Influence of Al2O3 Incorporation on Mechanical and Corrosion Resistance Behaviours

  • Ni-W/Al2O3 nano-composites were electrodeposited on mild steel substrate for mechanical and corrosion resistance applications. This study focused on the preparation of Ni-W/Al2O3 nano-composite coating with various quantity of Al2O3 incorporations. The addition of Al2O3 in the electrolytes were varied from 1-10 g/L in electrolytes and the Al2O3 incorporation in Ni-W/Al2O3 nano-composite coatings were obtained from 1.82 to 13.86 wt.%. The incorporation of Al2O3 in Ni-W alloy matrix influenced the grain size, surface morphology and structural properties were observed. The distributions of Al2O3 particle in alloy matrix were confirmed using electron microscopy (FESEM and TEM) and EDAX mapping analysis. The crystal structure informations were studied using X-ray diffraction method and it confirms that the deposits having cubic crystal structure. The better corrosion rate (0.87 mpy) and microhardness (965 HV) properties were obtained for the Ni-W/Al2O3 nano-composite coating with 13.86 wt.% of Al2O3 incorporations.

고속 플래시 AD 변환기를 위한 Successive Selection Encoder의 Logical Effort에 의한 설계 (Design of the Successive Selection Encoder by the Logical Effort for High Flash Speed ADC's)

  • 고속 flash ADC를 위하여, Successive Selection Encoder (SSE)라고 명명된 새로운 형태의 TC-to-BC encoder를 제안한다. 기존의 fat tree encoder가 OR 논리에 의하여 동작되는데 반하여, 제안된 SSE는 MUX 논리에 의하여 입력 TC 신호 들 중에서 직접 출력 BC 신호를 선택한다. 제안한 SSE의 구현을 위하여, Logical Effort 방법과 Hynix 0.25um 제조 공정에 의한 실험을 바탕으로 효율적인 SSE의 구현 구조를 정하였다. 이론적 모델과 실험 결과를 보면, SSE가 fat tree encoder에 비하여 (1) one-out-of-n 신호를 발생할 필요가 없고, (2) 사용되는 게이트 수는 약 1/3로 감소하며, (3) 동작속도는 2배 이상 빨라진다. 제안된 SSE는 고속 ADC에 적합한 TC-to-BC encoder로 사용될 수 있다.

내장 자체 테스트의 low overhead를 위한 공간 압축기 설계 (A design of Space Compactor for low overhead in Built-In Self-Test)

  • 본 논문에서는 VLSI 회로의 내장 자체 테스트(Built-In Self-Test)를 위한 효율적인 공간 응답 압축기의 설계 방식을 제안한다. 제안하는 공간 압축기의 설계 방식은 테스트 대상 회로의 구조와는 독립적으로 적용할 수 있다. 기존의 공간 응답 압축기는 하드웨어 오버헤드(hardware overheads)가 크고, 고장 응답을 비고장 응답으로 변환시키는 에일리어싱(aliasing)에 의해 고장 검출률(fault coverage)을 감소시켰으나, 제안하는 방식에 의해 설계된 공간 응답 압축기는 기존의 방법에 비해 하드웨어 오버헤드가 작고, 고장 검출률을 감소시키지 않는다. 또한, 제안하는 방식은 일반적인 N-입력 논리 게이트로 확장이 가능하여 테스트 대상 회로의 출력 시퀸스에 따른 가장 효율적인 공간 응답 압축기를 설계할 수 있다. 제안한 설계 방식은 SUN SPARC Workstation 상에서 C 언어를 사용하여 구현하며, ISCAS'85 벤치마크 회로를 대상으로 선형 피드백 시프트 레지스터(Linear Feedback Shift Registers)에 의해 생성된 의사 랜덤(pseudo random)패턴을 입력원으로 사용하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하므로써 그 타당성과 효율성을 입증한다.
