  • The switched reluctance motor(SRM) drive system provides a good adjustable speed and torque characteristics. SRM has the possibility of maintaining full power over a wide speed range. So, many attempts are being done from home appliances to industrial machinery and tools. Especially, a traction drive of an SRM is one of a good application for it's DC-series characteristic. However, because of the switching mechanism, it has some disadvantage of noise and vibration. It is difficult to adopt to an appliance demanding silency. A noise simulation and design of 6/4 and 12/8 SRM was done in order to compare each other was done.

  • 현재 수열합성법으로 이용하여 1차원으로 수직 성장한 ZnO 나노와이어는 밴드 갭이 3.37ev로 큰 밴드 갭을 갖는 물질이며 밀도 조절이 매우 어려운 것으로 알려져 있다. ZnO 나노와이어는 기존의 리소그래피 기반을 둔 Top-Down 방식과 달리 자발적인 형성과정으로 높은 결정성을 가지게 되는데, 이는 ZnO 나노와이어가 큰 종횡비 와 전자친화도를 가지고 있어 높은 전계방출 효과를 기대하게 되는 부분이다. 본 연구에서는 실버를 열처리하여 형성된 실버 나노파티클을 마스킹층으로 사용하여 ZnO 나노와어의 밀도 조절을 하고자 하였다. 실버막을 AZO seed layer 기판 위에 증착한뒤 $200{\sim}600^{\circ}C$ 까지 열처리 후 수열합성법을 이용하여 ZnO nanowire를 성장하였다. 또한 전구체인 ZN(NO3)2${\cdot}$6H2O 와 HMT 에 각각 Ammonium chloride와 PEI를 첨가하였고, PEI 의 몰농도를 변화하여 성장된 ZnO 나노와이어의 구조적, 광학적 특성을 평가함으로서 전자소자 적용 가능성을 확인하였다.

Elevator Pressurization in Tall Buildings

  • During a building fire, smoke can flow through elevator shafts threatening life on floors remote from the fire. Many buildings have pressurized elevators intended to prevent such smoke flow. The computer program, CONTAM, can be used to analyze the performance of pressurization smoke control systems. The design of pressurized elevators can be challenging for the following reasons: (1) often the building envelope is not capable of effectively handling the large airflow resulting from elevator pressurization, (2) open elevator doors on the ground floor tend to increase the flow from the elevator shaft at the ground floor, and (3) open exterior doors on the ground floor can cause excessive pressure differences across the elevator shaft at the ground floor. To meet these challenges, the following systems have been developed: (1) exterior vent (EV) system, (2) floor exhaust (FE) system, and ground floor lobby (GFL) system.

  • The air interface supports a security layer which provides the key exchange protocol, authentication protocol, and encryption protocol. The authentication is performed on the encryption protocol packet. The authentication protocol header or trailer may contain the digital signature that is used to authenticate a portion of the authentication protocol packet that is authenticated. The encryption protocol may add a trailer to hide the actual length of the plaintext of padding to be used by the encryption algorithm. The encryption protocol header may contain variables such as the initialization vector (IV) to be used by the encryption protocol. It is our aim to firstly compute the session key created from the D H key exchange algorithm, and thereof the authenticating key and the encryption key being generated from the session key.

  • 기존의 리튬계열 전지의 한계성을 극복하기 위해 전 세계적으로 차세대전지(new-generation battery)가 연구되고 있다. 이 중, 알루미늄이온(Aluminum-Ion) 배터리는 저렴한 가격과 고용량 가능성으로 큰 각광을 받고 있다. 이에, 본 논문에서는 향후 전기자동차(EV)와 에너지 저장장치(ESS)에 사용이 기대되는 알루미늄이온 배터리를 소개하고, 이의 직접 제조 및 전기화학적 특성분석을 실시하였다. 이를 통해, 기존 리튬계열 전지와의 유사성 및 차이점을 파악하고 어플리케이션의 적용 타당성을 판단하였다.

  • Dialkyl 1-bromobenzene-2,6-diacetates were easily prepared by the carbonylation of the moiety of benzylic bromide in 1-bromo-2,6-bis(bromomethyl)benzene with alcohol in the presence of NaOAc< TEX>${\cdot}$3H$_2$O and a catalytic amount of Co$_2$(CO)$_8$under the atmospheric pressure of carbon monoxide at room temperature in excellent yield. Alkyl 2,6-bis(alkoxymethyl)benzoates were obtained by the carbonylation of the moiety of aryl bromide in 1-bromo-2,6-bis(alkoxymethyl)-benzene, which derived from 1-bromo-2,6-bis(bromomethyl)benzene, alcohol, NaOR, and CH$_3$I under the same conditions. Alkyl 2,6-bis(carboxymethyl)benzoate was also obtained in a trace amount for 24 hrs at room temperature.

  • Recently, as interest in eco-friendliness grows, the supply of hybrid electric vehicles and pure electric vehicles (EVs) for improving fuel efficiency of automobiles is rapidly expanding. The average daily energy consumption of electric vehicles is less than 20 [%] of the total ESS capacity of the vehicle, and research on additional functions using the ESS of the vehicle is urgently needed to expand the supply of electric vehicles. V2H(Vehicle to Home), like V2G(Vehicle to Grid), includes the concept of cooperating with system stabilization using ESS of electric vehicles. In addition, it includes various operations that can realize home welfare, such as uninterrupted power supply in case of power outage at home, and power supply for home DC devices. Therefore, in order to expand the supply of eco-friendly electric vehicles, it is urgently required to develop a V2H system with various functions that can realize home welfare. In this paper, we propose a V2H system with a CLLC resonant converter and a non-isolated step-up converter that can solve different impedance and resonant frequencies depending on the power transfer direction. The proposed V2H system is 6 [kVA] applicable to 150-450 [V], the voltage range that can use the ESS voltage for electric vehicles, and is designed with a capacity that can handle instantaneous electricity use at home. In addition, in order to verify the feasibility, an experiment by Psim simulation and prototype production was performed.

  • Many spacecraft failures and anomalies have been attributed to energetic electrons in the Earth's magnetosphere. While the dynamics of these electrons have been studied extensively for several decades, the fundamental question of how they are accelerated is not fully resolved. Proposed theories have not been successful in explaining fast high energy increase such as REE (Relativistic electron enhancement). In this presentation, we show observations of energetic electron precipitation measured by the Korean satellite, STSAT-1 which simultaneously detect (100ev - 20 keV) and (170 - 360 keV) energy electrons at the 680 km orbit, when the RES event observed at the geosynchronous orbit on October 13, 2004. STSAT-1 observed intense electron precipitation in both energy ranges occurred in the midnight sector clearly demonstrating that electrons having wide energy band are injected from the plasma sheet. To make the balance between loss and injection, the injected electron flux should be also large. In this situation, the injected electrons can be trapped into the magnetosphere and produce REE, though they have low e-folding energies. We propose this plasma sheet injection might be the primary source of relativistic electron (1 MeV) flux increases.

Galvanic Corrosion Between Component Parts of Aluminum Alloys for Heat Exchanger of Automobile

  • There are a variety of heat exchangers used in automobiles, such as shell and tube heat exchangers, double tube heat exchangers, and plate heat exchangers. Most of them are water-cooled to prevent engine overheating. There have been reports of corrosion damage to these heat exchangers due to continuous wetting caused by external temperature differences, road pollutants, and snow removal. In addition, galvanic corrosion, which occurs when two dissimilar materials come into contact, has been identified as a major cause. In this study, corrosion characteristics and galvanic corrosion behavior of Al alloy (AA3003, AA4045 and AA7072) used in automobile heat exchangers were analyzed. Effective clad materials for heat exchanger tubes and fins were also evaluated. It was found that AA7072 should be applied as the cladding material for fin AA3003 and that AA4045 was suitable as a cladding material for tube AA3003 because this clad materials application was the most effective clad design to delay the occurrence of pinhole in the tube. Main factors influencing galvanic corrosion dissolution were found to be galvanic corrosion potential difference and galvanic corrosion current density.

Identification of Canker-Causing Fungi Associated with Stems and Twigs of Chestnut Tree (밤나무의 줄기와 가지마름에 관여하는 병원균의 분리동정)

  • Eleven fungi were isolated from the cankered stems, branchs and twigs of chestmut trees collected from Chuncheon, Gapyung, Wonseong, Inje and Kanghwa during 1985-1986. Among them, Botryosphaeria dothide (Moug. ex Fries) Ces. et. de Notaris, Cryptodiaporthe castanea (Tulasne) Wehmeyer, Endothia singularis Sheaet Stevens, E. parasitica (Murrill) P. J. et H. W. Anderson and Pseudovasella modonia (Tulasne) Kobayas were identified as perithecial stage. Dathiorella castaneae Camara et Vasconcelos, Fusicoccum castaneun Saccardo, Catinula japanica st. nov., Endothiella singularis (H. et. P. Syd.) Shear et Stev. nom. seminud, E. parasitica And., nom. seminud., and Coryneum castaneae (Sacc.) comb. novo were identified as conidial stage Botryosphaeria dothidea causing canker or diebark but and Endothia parasitica causing Endothia canker were already reported in Korea. The other fungi are first reported in Korea.
