Obstacle Avoidance by the Subgoal Generation Using the Infrared Sensors (적외선 센서를 이용한 서브 골 생성에 의한 장애물 회피)

  • This paper presents an obstacle avoidance of a mobile robot by the subgoal generation using infrared sensors. When an obstacle appears on the path which the robot is moving forward the robot has to get information, such as distance between the robot and the obstacle and the shape of the obstacle for avoidance behavior. Our collision avoidance algorithm needs the only distance between the robot and the obstacles. The distances are used for subgoal generation. Simulation results show that a robot can go to the goal, carrying out subgoal generation and avoiding obstacles.

  • AGV is very useful equipment to transfer containers in automated container terminal. AGV must have Obstacle Detection System (ODS) fur port automation. ODS needs the function to classify some specified object from background in acquired data. And it must be able to track classified moving objects. Finally, ODS could determine its next action for safe deriving whether it should do emergency stop or speed down, or it should change its deriving lane. For these functions, ODS can have many different kinds of algorithm. In this paper, we present one of them under developing.

  • Polarimetric measurements of the sky radiation by the PSR-I000, which is the multi-spectral polarimeter developed by the Opt Research Corporation and has the same wavelength regions (443nm, 490nm, 565nm, 670nm, 765nm and 865nm) as the ADEOSII/POLDER sensor, have been carried out at the ground station in Kanazawa city, Japan from March to May. First of all, the wavelength dependency of degrees of polarization is examined and it is shown that degrees of polarization measured under the hazy dust cloud are lower than those measured in the clear sky and decrease as the wavelength increases. Next, a new method for estimating optical properties, such as the optical thickness, the number size distribution and the refractive index, of the Asian dust and the ground reflectance from degrees of polarization measured by PSR-I000 is described. Finally, this method is applied to polarization data acquired on April 15,2002. As a result, it is shown that our estimation algorithm provides a good result.

  • An automated calibration system of sound level meters was developed and tested. As a standard sound source, the speaker unit(Forstex FE208) cabineted by 440 * 390 * 490 mm$^{3}$(LHW) volume wood box was adopted. Including this source, the driving part was found out to have a good linearity of sound pressure output vs AC input. We use the Hybrid-Bisect, /Newton-Raphson method modified by the linearity as searching algorithm. Personal computer and program do the control, measurements, and calculations and finally do the accumulation of useful data and results. Several trials of automatic calibration using this developed system give reliable results.

  • This paper describes a SVPWM overmodulation scheme of NPC type three-level inverter for traction drives which extends the modulation index from MI=0.907 to unity. SVPWM strategy is organized by two operation modes of under-modulation and over-modulation. The switching states under the under-modulation modes are determined by dividing them with two linear regions and one hybrid region the same as the conventional three-level inverter. On the other hand, under the over-modulation mode, they are generated by doing it with two over-modulation regions the same as the conventional over-modulation strategy of a two level inverter. Following the description of over-modulation scheme of a three-level inverter, the system description of a vector controlled induction motor for traction drives has been discussed. Finally, the validity of the proposed modulation algorithm has been verified through simulation and experimental results.

Calibration and Validation of the Estimated Chlorophyll a Derived from KOMPSAT/OSMI Data and Fisheries Application in the East China Sea

  • A comparison between the estimated chlorophyll a from OSMI, the SeaWiFS and the chlorophyll a measured from the research cruises of National Fisheries Research and Development Institute was made. The updated empirical algorithm for calibrating and validating of the estimated chlorophyll a in the East China Sea was formulated by relationship between the estimated chlorophyll a and the field one. The relationship between the chlorophyll a and the band ratio(nLw490/555) was still highest in the OSMI data after launching of KOMPSAT satellite. The distributions of OSMI chlorophyll a were compared with those of sea surface temperature, zooplankton biomass, and catch amounts of the Pacific mackerel in the East China Sea. In case of the relationships in specially winter seasons of 2002 and 2004, the zooplankton and the fish were totally depended on the distributions of SST than those of chlorophyll a.

  • An automated calibration system of sound level meters was developed and tested. As a standard sound source, the speaker unit(Forstex FE208) cabineted by 440$\times$390$\times$490 $\textrm{mm}^3$(LHW) volume wood box was adopted. Including this source, the driving part was found out to have a good linearity of sound pressure output vs AC voltage input. The Hybrid-Bisect/Newton-Raphson method modified by the linearity was adopted as a searching algorithm. Uisng GPIB interface, the console PC make the control, measurements, and calculations and finally make the accumulation of useful data and results automatically by the instructon in the program coded by C languate. Several trials of automatic calibration using this developed system give the reliable results.

  • 객체의 인식을 위한 컴퓨터 비전 알고리즘은 안개와 비와 같은 기상이 좋지 않은 상황에서는 인식 성능이 떨어지고 있다. 이로 인하여 최근 악천후 환경에서 촬영된 영상으로부터 날씨 현상을 제거하는 기법들이 연구되고 있다. 빗줄기는 시공간적 무작위성으로 인하여 검출 및 제거가 어려운 현상이다. 또한 기존의 빗줄기 검출 및 제거 기법들은 대부분 고정된 카메라로부터 촬영된 영상을 대상으로 처리함으로써 자동차와 같은 움직임이 있는 촬영환경에서는 부적합하다. 최근에는 카메라나 객체의 움직임에 대응할 수 있는 빗줄기 검출 및 제거 알고리즘이 개발되고 있으나, 방대한 연산량이 필요하기 때문에 실시간이 불가능하다. 본 논문에서는 최근 연구되고 있는 카메라 움직임이 있는 환경에서 빗줄기 검출 및 제거 알고리즘을 DSP 환경에서 구현하고 내부 메모리 최적화와 EMDA 이용, 소프트웨어 파이프라인 등을 통해 최적화를 수행하여 실시간성을 보인다.

  • ELP 계열 음성부호화기는 4.8kbps 내외의 전송률에서 양호한 음질을 얻을수 있으며 ITU-T, TIA/EIA 등 여러 국제 표준화 기구를 통해 다양한 응용분야에서 표준화가 이루어졌다. 이중에서 G.723.1은 멀티미디어 통신 환경하의 음성 전송 표준 보코더로 개발되었으며 G.723.1은 5.3kbps/6.3kbps의 이중 전송률을 갖는 구조로 현재 별정 통신으로 상용화되는 인터넷폰과 그 외의 이동 통신용 보코더로 사용되고 있다. G.723.1에서 사용되는 LSP 파라미터는 일정한 스펙트럼 민감도와 낮은 스펙트럼 왜곡을 보인다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 알고리즘은 음성신호의 에너지가 대개 낮은 주파수에 분포한다는 특징을 이용하여 대역폭을 가변으로 조정하였다. 실험결과, 부호화기 전체 계산시간은 약 6%의 감소하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 3G 이동 통신 시스템과 IEEE 802.11 WLAN 시스템 간의 통합을 위한 프로토콜 계층을 설계한다. 통합 알고리즘을 휘한 핵심은 서로 다른 다양한 시스템의 MAC 계층을 IP 계승을 통해 통합하는 AII IP 구조에서, 이종간 핸드오프 지원을 위한 새로운 적응 계층(Adaptation Layer)을 추가하는 것이다. 적응 계승에서 요구되는 기능들은 끊김 없는 계층적 핸드오프, 시스템의 발견과 최적의 인터페이스 선택. QoS 지원. AAA 등이다. 다양한 이슈들 중에 계층적 핸드오프를 위한 시스템 발견과 최적의 인터페이스 선택을 위한 알고리즘에 대해 살펴보도록 하겠다.
