This paper studied the relations among several demographic characteristics(gender, age, occupation, income) of consumers and automobile's attributes(engine performance, engine displacement, price, maintenance expenses, color, etc.) and preferred automobile(kind, size, company, price). For the relation research we established a model and related hypotheses and used a questionnaire survey, where 350 subjects were questioned. After the analysis, many statistically significant results are obtained : consumer's gender has relations with the preference for engine performance, engine displacement, price, color, and design; age has relations with the preference for engine displacement, maintenance expenses, free checking during A/S period, etc., occupation has relations with the preference for engine performance, engine displacement, price, maintenance expenses, fuel efficiency, etc. : income has relations with the preference for engine performance, engine displacement, price, maintenance expenses, mileage, reputation of car manufacturing companies, etc.; price and fuel efficiency has relations with the preference for car manufacturing companies. These results suggest the consumer-oriented sales of automobiles and are expected to be helpful for the effective strategy development of automobile marketing.

  • This study examines the recent business models of domestic logistics companies in Hanoi and Hai Phong, Vietnam, and suggests implications. We introduced business models (coastal shipping, distribution center and ICD transportation, cold chain, border crossing, port development, etc.) that provide logistics services through cooperation with existing logistics companies (shippers, logistics companies, local companies, etc.). If we propose a partnership plan in the short and medium term, short-term projects include warehouse, ICD, trucking business, and it is feasible to not only collaborate with Korean companies that have already entered the market, but to also invest in joint ventures with local companies (up to 51% of local companies). In the long term, we can consider coastal transportation, cross-border transportation, trucking, and investment in new deep sea ports. All of these businesses require local partnerships, so local companies require a 51% stake.

  • Purpose - The study aims to show the successful application of Six Sigma in software companies for process improvement. Research design, data and methodology - A mixed methodology has been used which include both qualitative and quantitative research. In the qualitative research methodology part, a detailed and comprehensive literature study have been carried out. The literature study consists of articles, books, web materials, discussion forms and others. In the quantitative research methodology part, interviews have been conducted. Results - Six sigma is the practical application of a theoretical statistical measurement that equates to 3.4 defects per million opportunities -a position of practically zero defects for any process or service. Initially originating in Motorola Inc. in 1985 as a response to drastic quality improvement pressures from the threat of Japanese competition, it quickly gained many followers particularly G.E., Allied Signal, Ford Motor Company etc. and more recently attentions have shifted to service environments. There are still some problems and misconceptions existed about the applicability of Six Sigma in software companies. Conclusions - The paper concludes that Six Sigma can bring large benefits for software companies too. Furthermore, software companies have already started to implement Six Sigma approach, like Ericsson, Tata Consultancy Service, etc.
