The intrinsic barrier in the methyl transfer reaction $X^- + CH_3X \rightleftharpoons XCH_3 + X^-$ has been shown to vary quadratically with the C-X distance d; linear dependence of the intrinsic barrier on the deformation energies or methyl cation affinities of the substrate, $CH_3X$, should therefore hold only approximately in a narrow range of structural variations in X.
The cationic distributions and magnetic properties of $Cu_{x}Zn_{1-x}Fe_{2}O_{4}(0{\leq}x{\leq}1)$ have been studied by X-ray diffraction and $M\"{o}ssbauer$ spectroscopy. The crystal structures are cubic spinels in the range $0{\leq}x{\leq}0.9$. The ionic distribution of ${(Zn_{1-x}Fe_{x})}_{A}{[Zn_{x}Fe_{2-x}]}_{B}O_{4}$, where x=0.1. The distribution of $Fe^{3+}$ ions was extracted from the $M\"{o}ssbauer$ spectra below Curie temperature in the whole range $0{\leq}x{\leq}1$. The number of $Fe^{3+}$ ions in the tetrahedral sites and Curie temperature of Cu-Zn ferrite increase with increasing Cu-concentration.
The electric and magnetic properties of Mg1.9-2xMn0.05Fe4xO4+${\gamma}$+2wt% Al2O3, and its microstructure have been investigated as a function of ferrite composition (x=0.45, 0.5, 0.55). The microstructure turned out to be independent on the ferrite composition. The resistivity was decreased with increasing Fe contents, whereas the Curie temperature decreased. Saturation magnetization was varied from 1741 to 2022 G with composition, and squareness ratio (SR), coercive force (BHc) were decreased and increased with increasing Fe contents respectively, so the sample which SR and BHc were 0.97 Oe and 1.49 Oe can be attainable at x=0.45.
The L $i_{0.5}$F $e_{2.5-x}$A $l_{x}$$O_4$ systems (x=0, 0.3, 0.6, 0.9, 1.2, 1.5) were investigated by X-ray diffraction and Mossbauer spectroscopy. The structure of all the samples is cubic spinel type and lattice constant decrease with increasing Al content x. The Moissbauer spectra reveal two sextet for 0$\leq$x$\leq$0.6, two sextet and a doublet for 0.9$\leq$x$\leq$1.2, and a doublet for x=1.5. The cation distribution of the samples is (L $i_{1-a}$$^{+}$F $e_{a}$$^{3+}$)$^{A}$[L $i_{a-0.5}$$^{+}$A $l_{2.5-a-x}$$^{+}$F $e_{2.5-a-x}$$^{3+}$]$^{B}$$O_4$$^{2-}$ and substituted $Al^{3+}$ ions decrease the covalency of F $e^{3+}$- $O^{2-}$ bond in B-sites and A-B super-exchange interactions.tions.s.tions.ons.s.
Magnetic properties and microstructure of nanocrystalline $\alpha$-(Fe, Co)-based Nd-(Fe, Co)-B-Nb-Cu alloys have been investigated. $Nd_x(Fe_{0.9}Co_{0.1})_{90-x}B_6Nb_3Cu_1$(x=2, 3, 4, 5, 6) alloys prepared by rapid solidification process show amorphous phase except the one with x=2. By a proper annealing, the amorphous in the alloy is changed to a nanocrystalline phase. It is confirmed that the nanocrystalline alloys are composed of $\alpha$-(Fe, Co) and $Nd_2(Fe, Co)_{14}B_1$ phase. The optimally annealed $Nd_3(Fe_{0.9}Co_{0.1})_87B_6Nb_3Cu_1$ alloy shows the highest remanence of 1.55 T. The coercivity increases with the increase of Nd content The maximum coercivity of 4.6 kOe is obtained from an optimally annealed $Nd_6(Fe_{0.9}Co_{0.1})_84B_6Nb_3Cu_1$ alloy, resulting in the maximum energy product of 10.6 MGOe.
The effect of annealing on the magnetic properties and the microstructures of the amorphous $Fe_{76-x}Cu_1Mo_xSi_{14}B_9$(x=2,3) alloys were investigated. When annealed at 500${^{\circ}C}$ for 1hr, $8{\sim}9{\times}10^3$ of the effective permeability and 3~4 A/m of the coercive force were achieved upon crystallization to $\alpha$-Fe phase. And the average diameter of the $\alpha$-Fe grains was about 20nm. For the nanovrystalline ferromagnets. the fine grain size is the important requirement to obtain a good soft magnetic property. In this work, in order to get the finer grain size of $\alpha$-Fe phase, two-step annealing treatment was given. That is, following the low-temperature at $400{^{\circ}C}$ for 1~3hr, the high-temperature annealing at $500{^{\circ}C}$ for 1hr was carried out. As the low-temperature annealing time increased, the effective permeability increased to $1.2{\sim}1.7{\times}10^4$ and the coercive force decreased to about 2 A/m. And the grain size was observed to be smaller than 10nm. The increased permeability and the decreased coercive force were attributed to the reduced average crystalline anisotropy by the refinement of $\alpha$-Fe(Si) grains.
The magnetic and magnetostrictive properties of amorphous Tb/sub 45.7/Fe/sub 54.3-x/Co/sub x/ and Tb/sub 50.2/Fe/sub 49.8-x/Co/sub x/ (0≤x≤9.6) thin films have systematically been investigated. The films were fabricated by rf magnetron sputtering using a composite target which consists of a Fe plate and Tb, Co chips. The microstructure mainly consists of an amorphous phase. Excellent intrinsic and low magnetic-field-magnetostrictive properties were achieved in Tb/sub 45.7/Fe/sub 54.3-x/Co/sub x/ and Tb/sub 50.2/Fe/sub 49.8-x/Co/sub x/ (0≤x≤9.6). The magnetostriction of 130 ppm was obtained with low field of 100 Oe. The intrinsic magnetostriction(applied field, 5 kOe) were increased from 330ppm to 400ppm.

This study evaluates wear comforts of water-vapor-permeable (WVP) garments through a measurement of various parameters such as skin and rectal temperatures, microclimate between skin and clothing, sweat rate, and subjective sensations (thermal, wet and comfort sensations) to correlate the physiological responses of the human body with its comfort feeling. Wear comfort during a specific exercise on a treadmill in a climatic chamber (temperature T = $20{\pm}0.5^{\circ}C$ and relative humidity H = $50{\pm}10%$) were studied using eight men wearing seven sportswear outfits (a long sleeve shirts and a long pants) made with seven different WVP fabrics. A comfort sensation was found to be highly correlated with skin T (p<.001), microclimate (T and H) between skin and clothing (p<.001) and sweat rate (p<.05). A regression model correlating comfort sensations and physiological responses obtained from wearer trials could be established: Y = 14.167 - 0.362 ${\times}$ X1 + 0.424 ${\times}$ X2 - 0.238 ${\times}$ X3 - 0.561 ${\times}$ X4 + 0.253 ${\times}$ X5 + 0.214 ${\times}$ X6 - 0.393 ${\times}$ X7 + 0.023 ${\times}$ X8 - 0.043 ${\times}$ X9. (Y = comfort sensation, X1 = forehead skin T, X2 = forearm skin T, X3 = hand skin T, X4 = thigh skin T, X5 = T of chest microclimate, X6 = T of thigh microclimate, X7 = chest sweat rate, X8 = H of back microclimate, X9 = H of thigh microclimate. The regression model obtained in this work can be used by manufacturers to objectively estimate the comfort sensation of sportswear before it is introduced to the consumer market. This study provides salient information to sportswear manufacturers and sportswear consumers.
The study was conducted to obtain the genetic information on heterosis and combining ability of the quantitative characters for F1 hybrid breeding in silkworms. Six parental varieties and each set of 30 diallel crosses in F1's were used as materials, and bred on the randomized complete block design with three replications. Fourteen characters were observed with the twenty samples in each tray. The data were analyzed for (1) heterosis and combining ability in F1 hybrid. The heterosis in the weight and the length of cocoon showed positively high at 24.51%, and 23.4%, respectively and the weight of the whole cocoon as well as the weight of the whole cocoon layer showed a siginificant heterosis ranging from 15.56% to 15.71% and from 17.14% to 19.01%, but the fifth and the total instar period showed negative heterosis. It was found that the combination between, C70XRomogua and N9 X Romogua showed highly a negative heterosis on the fifth instar period and for the cocoon weight. The female of N9+Sansuian and the male of Romogua X Sansurian have a high heterosis effect, on the cocoon shell weight, and Sansurian X Romogua(reciprocal) on the length and the weight of cocoon filament with no regard to sexuality. The significant maternal and cytoplasmic effect on heterosis of the cocoon weight and the cocoon shell weight were observed with the combinations, N9 X C5, N63 X C70 and on the length of the cocoon filament with the combinations, Sansurian X N63, Sansurian X C5, Sansurian X C70 and N9 X C70, N63 X C70 on the weight of cocoon filament. As mean squared of GCA, SCA and RCA were significant with these combining ability for all characters resulted from additive and non-additive altogether and there is a significant difference between reciprocals. Sansurian showed a negative GCA effect on the fifth and total larval duration, but the higher positive GCA effects took places with varieties N9 and C5 on the length, width, weight of cocoon, cocoon shell weight, percentage of cocoon shell weight, length and weight of cocoon filament, percentage of raw-silk with no regard to both generations and silkworm sexuality. The values of SCA between the cross combinations varied generation-wise and sex-wise. It was shown that SCA value for the fifth instar period was highly negative for Sansurian X C70, Romogua X C70, Sansurian X C5, Romogua X C5, but it was positive effect on the cocoon weight, cocoon shell weight with N9 X C5, and C70 X Sansurian, on the length of cocoon filament with N9 X C5, Romogua X Sansurian on the weight of cocoon filament between Romogua and N63 and on the percentage of raw-silk between the combination of Sansurian X Romoga.
