  • This study was carried out to demonstrate morphological, cytological and molecular evidence for intersubgeneric $F_1$ hybrid between Glycine tomentella and G. max cv. ‘Baemkong’. Morphological features of $F_1$ plant for pistil and stamen, flower color and growth habit showed intermediate type between G. tomentella and G. max cv. ‘Baemkong’. Chromosome number of $F_1$ plant was 2n=39, which explained the evidence of $F_1$ hybrid between G. tomentella (2n=38) and G. max cv. ‘Baemkong’ (2n=40). Polyacrylamide isoelectric focusing pattern for esterase and peroxidase also showed that the $F_1$ plant was true $F_1$ hybrid between G. tomentella and G. max cv. ‘Baemkong’. From RAPD analysis, we identified that 62 primers showing bands in $F_1$ hybrid had both bands from G. tomentella and G. max cv. ‘Baemkong’, which suggested that this was true $F_1$ hybrid. Based on our results from morphological, cytological and molecular analyses, we suggest that the $F_1$ plant was true intersubgeneric hybrid between G. tomentella and G. max cv. ‘Baemkong’. Our results still remain us further study to recover fertility of $F_1$ hybrids. The occurrence of maternal and/or paternal inheritance in $F_1$ hybrid from intersubgeneric cross between G. tomentella and G. max cv. ‘Baemkong’ need to be explained.

  • In this work, the degradation of g$_{m}$ , f$_{T}$ and f$_{max}$ of RF-CMOS devices have been characterized at elevated temperature. Since MOS transistors in RF applications are usually in saturation region, a simple empirical model for temperature dependence of g$_{m}$ at any measurement bias has been suggested. Because f$_{T}$ and f$_{max}$ of CMOS devices are proportional to g$_{m}$, the temperature dependence of f$_{T}$ and f$_{max}$ could be obtained from the temperature dependence of g$_{m}$. It was found that the degradation of f$_{T}$ and f$_{max}$ at elevated temperature was due to the degradation of g$_{m}$. From the correlation between DC and RF performances of CMOS devices, we can predict the enhanced f$_{T}$ and f$_{max}$ performances at low temperature.

  • The dependence of $f_T$ and $f_{max}$ on the unit finger width is measured and analyzed for $0.13{\mu}m$ MOSFETs. The increase of $f_T$ at narrow width is attributed by the parasitic gate-bulk capacitance, and the decrease of $f_T$ at wide width is generated by the reduction of increasing rate of $g_{mo}$. The increase of $f_{max}$ at narrow width is originated from the abrupt reduction of gate resistance due to the non-quasi-static effect. These analysis results will be valuable information for layout optimization to improve $f_T$ and $f_{max}$.

  • The effects of device geometry and layout on high speed performance such as current gain outoff frequency(f$_{T}$) and maximum oscillation frequency(f$_{max}$) are of very improtant for the scaling-down of geterojunction bipolar transistors(HBT$_{s}$). In this paper AlGaAs/GaAs HBTs are fabricated by MBE epitaxial growth and conventional mesa process, and the experimental data of emitter-base geometru dependency of HBT performance are presented in order to provide the quantitative information for optimum device structure design. It is shown that f$_{T}$ and f$_{max}$ are inversely proportional to the emiter stripe width, while the low emitter perimeter/area ratio is better to f$_{T}$ and worse ot f$_{max}$. It is also demonstrated the f$_{T}$ and f$_{max}$ are highly improved by the emitter-base spacing reduction resulting in less parsitic effects. As the result f$_{T}$ of 42GHz and f$_{max}$ of 23GHz are obtained for fabricated HBT with emitter area of 3${\times}20^{\mu}m^{2}$ and E-B spacing of 0.2$\mu$m.m.m.

  • In this study, to maximize RF performance of MOSFETs, $f_T$ and $f_{max}$ dependent data on $W_u$ are measured and newly analyzed by extracting small-signal model parameters. From the physical analysis results, it is found that a peak value of $f_T$ is generated by $W_u$-independent parasitic gate-bulk capacitance at narrow $W_u$ and the wide width effect of reducing the increasing rate of transconductance at wide $W_u$. In addition, it is revealed that a maximum value of $f_{max}$ is caused by the non-quasi-static effect that the gate resistance is greatly reduced at narrow $W_u$ and becomes constant at wide $W_u$.

  • Purpose: We evaluated correlation of $^{18}F$-FDG uptakes, therapeutic response and relapse in pre-treatment $^{18}F$-FDG PET/CT in patients with SCLC. Materials and methods: We included 26 patients with pathologically proven small cell lung cancer. Total 102 lesions (26 lungs, 69 lymph nodes and 8 metastatic lesions) were evaluated. All patients underwent $^{18}F$-FDG PET/CT for staging. The maxSUV was used as a parameter of $^{18}F$-FDG uptake. The patients were divided into responders and non-responders according to response criteria on chest CT scan after 3 cycles of chemotherapy. We compared maxSUV between two groups by using independent t-test. To access correlation with $^{18}F$-FDG uptake and relapse, maxSUV and interval time to relapse was analyzed by correlation analysis. The cutoff value of maxSUV was evaluated by ROC curve. Results: Twelve-one patients (81%) were responders and five patients were non-responders on follow-up chest CT scan. The mean maxSUV of main lung lesions in responders and non-responders were $14.15{\pm}3.72$ and $9.17{\pm}2.15$, respectively. The maxSUV in the responders was significantly lower than that in non-responders (p<0.05). According to ROC curve, point of cut that predicts therapeutic response was 8.98 with 100% sensitivity and 57% specificity. The correlation analysis between $^{18}F$-FDG uptakes and interval time to relapse showed a significant negative correlation (p<0.05, r=-0.757). Conclusion: The pre-treatment $^{18}F$-FDG uptake of responders was significantly lower than that of non-responders. Patients with high $^{18}F$-FDG uptake in pre-treatment $^{18}F$-FDG PET/CT relapse earlier.

  • A ring R is called left max-coherent provided that every maximal left ideal is finitely presented. $\mathfrak{M}\mathfrak{I}$ (resp. $\mathfrak{M}\mathfrak{F}$) denotes the class of all max-injective left R-modules (resp. all max-flat right R-modules). We prove, in this article, that over a left max-coherent ring every right R-module has an $\mathfrak{M}\mathfrak{F}$-preenvelope, and every left R-module has an $\mathfrak{M}\mathfrak{I}$-cover. Furthermore, it is shown that a ring R is left max-injective if and only if any left R-module has an epic $\mathfrak{M}\mathfrak{I}$-cover if and only if any right R-module has a monic $\mathfrak{M}\mathfrak{F}$-preenvelope. We also give several equivalent characterizations of MI-injectivity and MI-flatness. Finally, $\mathfrak{M}\mathfrak{I}$-dimensions of modules and rings are studied in terms of max-injective modules with the left derived functors of Hom.

  • Genetic improvement of the cultivated soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr] may be possible through hybridization with its wild progenitor, G. soja Sieb. & Zucc. Interspecific cross between G. max (Hwangkeumkong) and G. soja (IT.182932) was made in the summer of 1997. In F$_2$ the percentage of plant height, nodes per plant, and pods per plant were high but gradually reduced from F$_2$ to F$_4$. In contrast pod length, seeds per pod, and 100-seeds weight were increased gradually through generations advanced. Wild variation as evident in F$_2$ in plant height, number of branches, pods per plant, and 100-seeds weight. Twenty six percent of the F$_2$, 44 % of the F$_3$ and 60% of the F$_4$ segregants showed more G. max traits. The combination of useful traits from both species is possible through interspecific hybridization. The characters that could be transferred from wild species to cultivated species are more pod number, better capacity, and resistance to disease and insects. The interspecific derivatives offer scope for selection for high grain yield. Therefore, introducing genes from G. soja to G. max could be contribute to greater genetic diversity of future cultivars. And semicultivated soybean had some desired characteristics including tolerance to adverse environments and multi-seed characters. It means the infusing of semicultivated germplasm to the cultivated soybean could increase number of seeds and pods per plant significantly, and consequently could enhance selecting potential on yield.
