마그네시아 소결체의 미세구조와 강도에 미치는 $ZrO_2$의 영향 (Influence of $ZrO_2$ on Microstructure and Mechanical Strength of Sintered Magnesia)

  • The influence of ZrO2 addition on microstructre and mechanical strength of magnesia ceramics were discussed. ZrO2 was existed as a cubic phase resulted from MgO solubility into ZrO2 on firing at temperature range from 130$0^{\circ}C$ to 1$600^{\circ}C$ for 2 h. The addition of ZrO2 markedly promoted the densification of MgO also above 150$0^{\circ}C$ and the sintered density at 1$600^{\circ}C$, 2 h reached to 95.2% of the theoretical. The solubility of MgO into c-ZrO2 was about 7.68 wt% and it was segregated at grain boundary on cooling to room temperature. ZrO2 existing as a second phase retarded the grain growth of MgO. The bending strength were increased to 240 MPa with the amount of ZrO2.

  • The effect of monoclinic $ZrO_2$(pure) and tetragonal $ZrO_2$ containing 5.35wt% $Y_2$$O_3$(Y-TZP) addition on the mechanical properties and thermal shock resistance of $Al_2$$O_3$ ceramic were investigated. The addition of $ZrO_2$(m) and Y-TZP increased sintering density of $Al_2$$O_3$. The vickers hardness increased with increasing the volume fraction of Y-TZP going through a maximum at 20wt%. The hardness of the specimens was found to be depend on the sintering density. With increasing the volume fraction of $ZrO_2$(m) and Y-TZP, the fracture toughness of the composite is increased. This result may be taken as evidence that toughening of ${Al_2}{O_3}$ can also be achieved by the transformation toughening and microcrack toughening of $ZrO_2$. The property of the& shock for ${Al_2}{O_3}$-$ZrO_2$ composites was improved by increasing the volume fraction of monoclinic $ZrO_2$(pure).Grain size increased with increasing the volume fraction of $ZrO_2$.

Physicochemical and Catalytic Properties of NiSO4/CeO2-ZrO2 Catalyst Promoted with CeO2 for Acid Catalysis

  • A solid acid catalyst, NiSO4/CeO2-ZrO2 was prepared simply by promoting ZrO2 with CeO2 and supporting nickel sulfate on CeO2-ZrO2. The support of NiSO4 on ZrO2 shifted the phase transition of ZrO2 from amorphous to tetragonal to higher temperatures because of the interaction between NiSO4 and ZrO2. The surface area of 10-NiSO4/1-CeO2-ZrO2 promoted with CeO2 and calcined at 600 oC was very high (83 m2/g) compared to that of unpromoted 10-NiSO4/ZrO2 (45 m2/g). This high surface area of 10-NiSO4/1-CeO2-ZrO2 was due to the promoting effect of CeO2 which makes zirconia a stable tetragonal phase as confirmed by XRD. The role of CeO2 was to form a thermally stable solid solution with zirconia and consequently to give high surface area and acidity of the sample, and high thermal stability of the surface sulfate species. 10-NiSO4/1- CeO2-ZrO2 containing 1 mol% CeO2 and 10 wt% NiSO4, and calcined at 600 oC exhibited maximum catalytic activities for both reactions, 2-propanol dehydration and cumene dealkylation.

The Effect of Anodizing on the Electrical Properties of ZrO2 Coated Al Foil for High Voltage Capacitor

  • $ZrO_2$ and Al-Zr composite oxide film was prepared by vacuum assisted sol-gel dip coating method and anodizing. $ZrO_2$ films annealed above $400^{\circ}C$ have tetragonal structure. $ZrO_2$ layers inside etch pits were successfully coated from the $ZrO_2$ sol. The double layer structures of samples were obtained after being anodized at 100 V to 600 V. From the TEM images, it was found that the outer layer was $Al_2O_3$, the inner layer was multi-layer of $ZrO_2$, Al-Zr composite oxide and Al hydrate. The capacitance of $ZrO_2$ coated foil exhibited about 28.3% higher than that of non-coating foil after being anodized at 100 V. The high capacitance of $ZrO_2$ coated foils anodized at 100 V can be attributed to the relatively high percentage of inner layer in total thickness. The electrical properties, such as withstanding voltage and leakage current of coated and non-coated Al foils showed similar values. From the results, $ZrO_2$ and Al-Zr composite oxide is promising to be used as the partial dielectric of high voltage capacitor to increase the capacitance.

칼슘열환원(熱還元)에 의한 ZrO2로부터 지르코늄 분말(粉末) 제조(製造) (Zirconium Powder Preparation from ZrO2 by Calciothermic Reduction)

  • 본 연구에서는 액상 칼슘에 의한 $ZrO_2$의 직접환원에 대하여 조사하였다. $ZrO_2$의 직접환원에 미치는 Ca과 $ZrO_2$의 몰비, 반응시간, 그리고 반응온도의 영향에 대하여 검토하였다. 실험은 5분에서 60분까지 Ar 분위기의 밀폐된 스테인리스강제의 반응기에서 실시하였다. 반응온도 1223 K, Ca과 $ZrO_2$의 몰비가 3 이상인 조건에서 대부분의 $ZrO_2$는 5분만에 Zr으로 환원되었다. 반응온도가 1337 K이고 Ca을 이론적인 양의 2배를 첨가한 경우 금속 Zr 중의 산소농도는 최저 0.66 wt%를 나타내었다. 그리고 Zr 입자의 형상은 반응온도와 반응시간에 큰 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다.

  • 비커스 경도 시험은 모든 재료에 적용할 수 있으며, 경도 시험 중에서 가장 광범위하게 사용된다. 경도는 기계적 성질을 평가하는 하나의 확률변수로 볼 수 있다. 본 연구는 $ZrO_2$ 단상 세라믹스와 $TiO_2$ 첨가량에 따르는 $ZrO_2/SiC$ 복합 세라믹스의 굽힘강도와 비커스 경도의 통계적 성질을 조사하였다. 굽힘강도와 비커스 경도는 와이블 확률 분포를 잘 따랐다. 척도 및 형상 파라메터는 $ZrO_2$ 모재 세라믹스, $ZrO_2/SiC/TiO_2$ 모재 세라믹스 및 이들을 열처리한 세라믹스를 사용하여 평가하였다. 또한 압입하중의 증가에 따른 영향도 평가하였다.

  • $LiF-BeF_2-ZrF_4$(63-30-7 mol%) 용융염은 상온에서 증류수 1ml당 최고 0.02g까지 용해율 99.9%로 용해되었다. 그리고 $ZrF_4$를 열가수분해시켜 제조된 $ZrO_2$ 산화물을 포함하는 $LiF-BeF_2-ZrF_4$ 용융염에서 $ZrO_2$ 산화물을 증류수로 침출시켜 회수하였다. 회수된 $ZrO_2$ 산화물의 결정모양은 손상되지 않았다.

솔-젤법에 의한 $SiO_2-ZrO_2$계 무반사 박막의 제조 (Fabrication of Sol-Gel derived Antireflective Thin Films of $SiO_2-ZrO_2$ System)

  • In order to reduce reflectance of soda-lime glass having average reflectance of 7.35% and refractive index of 1.53, single (SiO2), double (SiO2/20SiO2-80ZrO2), and triple (SiO2/ZrO2/75SiO2-25ZrO2) layers were designed and fabricated on the glass substrate by Sol-Gel method. Stble sols of SiO2-ZrO2 binary system for antireflective (AR) coatings were synthesized with tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) and zirconium n-butoxide as precursors and ethylacetoacetate (EAcAc) as a chelating agent in an atmosphere environment. Films were deposited on soda-lime glass at the withdrawal rates of 3~11 cm/min using the prepared polymeric sols by dip-coating and they were heat-treated at 45$0^{\circ}C$ for 10 min to obtain homogeneous, amorphous and crack-free films. In case of SiO2-ZrO2 binary system, refractive index of film increased with an increase of ZrO2 mol%. Designed optical constant of films could be obtained through varying the withdrawal rate. In the visible region (380~780nm), reflectance was measured with UV/VIS/NIR Spectrophotometer. Average reflectances of the prepared single-layer [SiO2 (n=1.46, t=103nm)], double-layer [SiO2 (n=1.46, t=1-4nm)/20SiO2-80ZrO2 (n=1.81, t=82nm)], and triple-layer [SiO2 (n=1.46, t=104nm)/ZrO2 (n=1.90, t=80nm)/75SiO2-25ZrO2 (n=1.61, t=94 nm)] were 4.74%, 0.75% and 0.38%, respectively.

졸-겔법으로 제조된 ZrO2/Al막의 열처리 온도에 따른 양극산화 특성 (Annealing Temperature Dependence on Anodizing Properties of ZrO2/Al Films Prepared by Sol-gel Method)

  • 알루미늄 전해캐패시터에서 양극산화막은 유전체로서 중요한 역할을 하는데 높은 캐패시턴스를 얻기 위하여 알루미늄 위에 ZrO$_2$ 막을 졸-겔법으로 코팅하고 양극산화시킨 후 이들이 특성을 연구하였다. 코팅과 건조를 4~10회 반복하여 제조된 막들을 300~$600^{\circ}C$에서 열처리하였으며 ZrO$_2$/Al 막을 양극산화 시킨 후 ZrO$_2$/Al-ZrO$_{x}$ /Al$_2$O$_3$의 세층이 알루미늄 기판 위에 형성되었고, $Al_2$O$_3$ 층의 두께는 열처리 온도가 증가함에 따라 ZrO$_2$ 막의 치밀화로 인해 감소하였다. ZrO$_2$ 막은 30$0^{\circ}C$에서도 미세한 결정질 구조를 가지고 성장하였으며, 열처리와 양극산화 후 나타나는 알루미늄박의 캐패시턴스는 저온에서 열처리한 박이 큰 값을 보이는데 이는 ZrO$_2$ 막 자체의 캐패시턴스가 큰 것이 기인한다. 400V로 양극산화한 후 ZrO 막을 코팅한 알루미늄박의 캐패시턴스는 코팅하지 않은 경우 보다 약 3배 정도의 큰 값을 보여 복합산화물층을 갖는 알루미늄박은 알루미늄 전해캐패시터에의 적용가능성을 보였다.

  • ZrO2 fibers were fabricated by means of the Sol-Gel process using Zr(O-nC3H7)4-H2O-C2H5OH-HNO3 solution as a starting material. The optimum experimental parameters such as molar ratio of starting materials, concentration, temperature, viscosity, the amounts of stabilizer and the pH of solution were determined. The experimentally determined optimum variables which produce good ZrO2 fibers were used to manufacture the Y2O3-and CaO-ZrO2 fibers. The amounts of Y2O3 and CaO were varied within the range from 1.5~5 mol% and 3~15 mol% respectively. The phase transformation and microstructural evolution of the fabricated ZrO2 gel fibers were investigated after heat treatments up to 120$0^{\circ}C$ by X-ray diffraction, Raman microprobe spectroscopy, SEM, and specific surface area and pore volume measurements. From the analysis of X-ray diffraction and Raman spectra, the phase of heat treated Y2O3-and CaO partially stabilized ZrO2 gel fibers(Y2O3:2.5~3 mol%, CaO:6~9 mol%) were identified as a tetragonal phase up to 100$0^{\circ}C$. The maximum tensile strength of 2.5Y2O3-97.5ZrO2 and 6CaO-94ZrO2 (in mol%) fibers heat treated at 100$0^{\circ}C$ for 1 hr was found be 1.3~2 GPa with diameters of 10~20 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$.
