한국산(韓國産) Juniperus rigida의 두 산지(産地)의 핵형분석(核型分析) (Karyotype Analysis of Juniperus rigida Sieb. et Zucc. of Two Different Provenances in Korea)

  • Juniperus rigida의 경남(慶南)과 충북(忠北)의 두 산지종(産地種)에 대하여 핵형분석(核型分析)을 하였다. 염색체수(梁色體數)는 두 산지종(産地種) 공(共)히 2n=22이다. 두 산지종(産地種)에 있어 가장 공통적(共通的)인 특징(特徵)을 나타낸 염색체(染色體)는 두완(短腕)에 secondary constriction을 지닌 No.7 이고, 가장 특이적(特異的) 특징(特徵)을 한 염색체(染色體)는 secondary constriction을 지닌 경남산(慶南産)의 No.9와 충북산(忠北産)의 No.5 염색체(染色體)이다. 핵형식(核型式)은 다음과 같다. 경남산지종(慶南山地種) $$K(2n)=22=2A^m+2B^m+2C^m+2D^{sm}+2E^{st}+2F^m+2^{sc}G^m+2H^m+2^{sc}I^t+2J^{st}+2K^m$$ 충북산지종(忠北山地種) $$K(2n)=22=2A^m+2B^m+2C^m+2D^{st}+2^{sc}E^{sm}+2F^m+2^{sc}G^m+2H^m+2I^m+2J^{st}+2K^{sm}$$.

  • The magnetic field profiles near the surface of a $Sm_1Ba_2Cu_3O_{7-\delta}$ coated conductor(CC-tape) under magnetic field and current that were applied simultaneously with phase differences ${\phi}s$ were measured using scanning Hall probe method. Measurements were carried out along the elliptic load lines with $\phi=90^{\circ}\;and\;45^{\circ}$ for some $B_{peak},\;I_{peak}$ values. From the measured field profiles, sheet current density J(x, $B_a,\;I_a$) and magnetic flux density $B_0(x,\;B_a,\;I_a)$ profiles in the CC-tape were calculated. Using these J(x, $B_a,\;I_a$) and $B_0(x,\;B_a,\;I_a)$ profiles, we estimated the hysteresis energy loss Q in the CC-tape. The estimated Qs, together with our previous results for $\phi=0^{\circ}$ from [9], were compared with theoretical values based on Brandt's calculation.

Salinity and sodicity disturbs growth of medicinal crop Guar (Cyanoposisa tetragonoloba)

  • Salinity is one of the major and increasing problems in irrigated agriculture in Pakistan. Salinity stress negatively affects the growth and yield of plants guar (Cyanoposisa tetragonoloba). This experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of ($4dSm^{-1}+13.5(mmol\;L^{-1})^{1/2}$, $5dSm^{-1}+25(mmol \;L^{-1})^{1/2}$, $5dSm^{-1}+30(mmol\;L^{-1})^{1/2}$, $10dSm^{-1}+25(mmol\;L^{-1})^{1/2}$ and $10dSm^{-1}+30(mmol \;L^{-1})^{1/2}$) on biomass yield of guar against salinity tolerance. Maximum biomass yield ($54.50gpot^{-1}$) was produced by $4dSm^{-1}+13.5(mmol\;L^{-1})^{1/2}$ treatment. Biomass produce was reduced with the increase of the salts toxicity. Minimum biomass yield ($30.17gpot^{-1}$) was attained under $10dSm^{-1}+30(mmol \;L^{-1})^{1/2}$. $5dSm^{-1}+25(mmol\;L^{-1})^{1/2}$ treatment exhibited improved outcome i.e. the least diminution % over control (18.66). Salinity cum sodicity showed staid effect on the growth reduction from 18.66% to 44.64%. This reduction fissure was impacted by the toxic effect of salinity and sodicity on Guar growth. Salinity- sodicity behaved toxic impact on the growth reduction from 18.66% to 44.64%. Based on the findings, guar (Cyanoposisa tetragonoloba) grows better at $4dSm^{-1}+13.5(mmol \;L^{-1})^{1/2}$ treatment.

Medicinal Plant Lemon Grass (Cymbopogon Citratus) Growth under Salinity and Sodicity

  • Salinity with sodic condition disturbs germination, retards emergence, and slow down seedling development of Lemon Grass (Cymbopogon citratus).Lemongrass is a perennial grass plant widely distributed worldwide and most especially in tropical and subtropical countries. This research experiment was designed to evaluate the influences of (4 dSm-1+ 13.5 (mmol L-1)-1/2, 5 dSm-1+ 25 (mmol L-1)1/2, 5 dSm-1+ 30 (mmol L-1)1/2, 10 dSm-1+ 25 (mmol L-1)1/2 and 10 dSm-1+ 30 (mmol L-1)1/2) on biomass produce of lemon grass against salt tolerance. The uppermost biomass yield (45.53 gpot-1) was produced by 4 dSm-1+ 13.5 (mmol L-1)1/2 treatment. The increase in the intensity of salts reduced the growth of lemon grass. Lower biomass yield (79.33 gpot-1) was gained at 10 dSm-1+ 30 (mmol L-1)1/2. 5 dSm-1+ 25 (mmol L-1)1/2 treatment performed enhanced outcome i.e. the least reduction % over control (5.87). Salinity- sodicity showed serious effect on the growth reduction from 5.87% to33.60%. This reduction gap was affected by the negative effect of salinity and sodicity on Linseed growth. Salinity- sodicity showed severe impact on the growth reduction from 5.87% to33.60%. Based on the findings, lemon Grass (Cymbopogon citratus).was capable to grow up the maximum at 4 dSm-1+ 13.5 (mmol L-1)1/2 treatment.

은행(銀杏)나무류(類) 염색체(染色體)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (Studies on the Chromosome Types of Ginkgo Species)

  • 자웅이주(雌雄異株)이고, 단일종(單一種)(monotype)이며, 경제적(經濟的), 기능적(機能的)으로 유용(有用)한 은행(銀杏)나무의 염색체(染色體)의 구조(構造)와 자웅(雌雄) 성결정(性決定) 염색체(染色體)를 판별(判別)하기 위해서 은행(銀杏)나무(G. biloba)와 추상은행(銀杏)나무(G. biloba var. fastigiata)를 재료(材料)로 하여 전국(全國)에서 7개(個) 지역(地域), 26개체(個體)의 근단(根端)(root tip)을 시료(試料)로 염색체(染色體)를 관찰(觀察) 조사(調査)한 결과(結果)는 다음과 같다. 체세포(體細胞) 염색체(染色體)의 기본수(基本數)는 2n=24, 염색체(染色體)의 상대적(相對的) 길이는 긴 것이 $14.88{\sim}11.17{\mu}m$, 짧은 것이 $8.11{\sim}6.24{\mu}m$, 12쌍(雙)의 염색체(染色體) set는 1쌍(雙)의 m형(型)이며 긴 염색체(染色體)와 비교적(比較的) 짧으며 sm 또는 st형(型) 11쌍(雙)으로 구성(構成)되고, 짧은 염색체(染色體) group은 연속적(連續的) 변이(變異)를 한다. 제1(第一) 긴 염색체쌍(染色體雙)의 short arm에 Satellite가 존재(存在)하고 7번 또는 8번째(sm 또는 st형(型)), 염색체쌍(染色體雙)의 한 쪽 또는 양 쪽 long arm에 Satellite가 존재(存在)하거나, 또는 제일(第一) 짧은 st형(型) 염색체쌍(染色體雙) 양 쪽 또는 한 쪽 long arm에 Satellite가 존재(存在)하기도 한다. 은행(銀杏)나무(G. biloba)의 제일(第一) 긴 염색체쌍(染色體雙)에 있는 Satellite는 가끔 2중(二重) Satellite복립부수체(複粒附髓體)인 것이 관찰(觀察)되었으나, 추상은행(銀杏)나무(G. biloba var. fastigiata)에서는 이중(二重) Satellite가 관찰(觀察)되지 않았다. 행형식(核型式) $2n=24=2^{2s}A^m+2B^{st\;or\;sm}+2C^{st}+2D^{st}+2E^{st}+2F^{st\;or\;sm}+2G^{sm}+2^{2s}H^{sm}\;or\;(^{1s}H^{sm}+H^{sm})+2I^{st}+2J^{st}+2K^{st}+2^{2s}L^{st}\;or\;(^{1s}L^{st}+L^{st})$ 염색체(染色體) 구조상(構造上)으로는 암나무와 숫나무의 성염색체(性染色體) 구별(區別)이 확실하지는 않지만, 숫나무의 염색체(染色體)에서는 제일(第一) 긴 염색체쌍(染色體雙)의 한 쪽 염색체(染色體) short arm에 이중(二重) Satellite가 존재(存在)하나, 암나무에서는 존재(存在)하지 않는다. 대체적으로 작은 염색체(染色體) group에서 Satellite 염색체(染色體)가 2개(個) 있는 것은 숫나무보다 암나무에서 더 많이 관찰(觀察)되었다. 추상은행(銀杏)나무(G. biloba var. fastigiata)에서는 작은 염색체(染色體) group에서, 숫나무에서는 1개(個)의 Satellite chromosome만 관찰(觀察)되었다.

Study on (n, α) reactions for the production of 51Cr, 89Sr, 99Tc, 131I, 133Xe, 137Cs and 153Sm radioisotopes used in nuclear medicine

  • Nuclear medicine seems to be a decent choice of medicine in the recent decade. The radioactive isotopes 51Cr, 89Sr, 99Tc, 131I, 133Xe, 137Cs and 153Sm are extremely essential in nuclear medicine. The excitation functions of the 54Fe (n, α) 51Cr, 92Zr (n, α) 89Sr, 102Rh (n, α) 99Tc, 134Cs (n, α) 131I, 136Ba (n, α) 133Xe, 140La (n, α) 137Cs and 156Gd (n, α) 153Sm reactions were calculated in this study using the EMPIRE 3.2.3 and TALYS 1.95 nuclear codes. Additionally, the cross sections at 14-15 MeV were calculated using empirical formulae and the experimental data. The computer codes were compared to the experimental data and Empirical formulas as well as the evaluated data (TENDL 2021, JENDL 3.3, JENDL 5, JEFF 3.3, EAF 2010, CENDL 3.1, CENDL 3.2, ROSFOND 2010, FENDL 3.2 b, and BROND 3.1).

  • The high critical current ($I_c$, A) of SmBCO coated conductor in a magnetic field, the high production rate and the high material yield are promising for applications. The inhomogeneity of Ie at the long length coated conduct is very important problem for electric application. So we researched the reason of inhomogeneity of $I_c$ at long length tape prepared by batch type co-evaporation system called by EDDC. The long length SmBCO coated conductors were developed on $LaMnO_3/IBAD-MgO/Y_2O_3/Al_2O_3$/Hastelloy C276 template. The distribution of $I_c$ are from 0 to 397 A/cm at 77 K and self field. We have studied the microstructures of these films by using SEM, EDS and X-ray diffraction. The XRD and composition by EDS results of SmBCO film reveals subtle difference. But, the microscopic observation by SEM show the microcrack at the sample with low $I_c$.

Electrical Properties of Sol-Gel Derived Ferroelectric Bi3.35Sm0.65Ti3O12 Thin Films

  • Ferroelectric $Bi_{3.35}Sm_{0.65}Ti_{3}O_{12}(BSmT)$ thin films were synthesized by sol-gel process. In this experiments, $Bi(TMHD)_{3},\;Sm_{5}(O^{i}Pr)_{13},\;Ti(O^{i}Pr)_4$ were used as precursors, which were dissolved in 2-methoxyethanol. The BSmT thin films were deposited on the Pt/TiO/SiO/Si substrates by spin-coating. Thereafter, the thin films with the thickness of 240 nm were annealed from 600 to $720^{\circ}C$ in oxygen atmosphere for 1 h, and post-annealed in oxygen atmosphere for 1 h after deposition of Pt electrode to enhance the electrical properties. To investigate the effects of Sm-substitution in the BTO thin films, the BTO and BSmT thin films were prepared, respectively. The remanent polarization and coercive voltage of the BSmT thin films annealed at $720^{\circ}C$ were $19.48{\mu}C/cm^2$ and 3.40 V, respectively.

HSS-Co와 SM55C 이종 마찰용접재의 피로강도에 관한 연구(1) (A Study on fatigue Strength in the Friction Welded Joints of HSS-Co to SM55C Carbon Steel(I))

  • This paper deals with the various mechanical properties and fatigue strength in the FRW1 (friction welded interface) of high speed steel (HSS-Co) to SM55C through the tensile test, hardness test and fatigue test. The data of FRW specimens are also compared with those of the base materials (HSS-Co and SM55C steel). Three kinds of specimens used in this study are the friction welded joints, HSS-Co and SM55C carbon steel with circumferential notch, saw notch and smooth, respectively. It is confirmed that the applied welding conditions are optimum methods in order to minimize the heat affected zone (HAZ) and hardness distribution at the HAZ. The fatigue strengths at N = 10$^{6}$ cycles of smooth, circumferential notch and saw notch specimens in the FRW joints are about 299.2 MPa, 123.8 MPa and 247.5 MPA, respectively. The fatigue strength of the friction welded joints is almost equal to that of the SM55C carbon steel in the optimum welding conditions. The fatigue cracks initiated at the welded zone are propagated along the side of SM55C steel.
