Object : This study is designed to evaluate the correlation between the data of DITI(Digital Inrared Thermographic Imaging) examination and the changes of clinical symptoms after the therapy of acupuncture in the patients with spondylolisthesis. Contents : The conservative therapy with acupuncture was performed during 3-4weeks. The acupuncture points of BL23, BL24, BL25, BL40, BL57, BL60, BL62, GB30, GB31, ST36, TE3 was used. In the pre- and post therapy, DITI examinations were performed in patients who had spondylolisthes in L-spine X-ray and were treated by acupuncttare simultaneously, and then tried to correlate the results of clinical symptoms with the difference of thermographic findings at pre-and post acupuncture. Setting : The standard routine thermographic exanninations were performed with thermography (DITI) in the 22 patients with spondylolisthesis at pre- and post acupuncture. Patients : Thermographic imaging of 22 cases was analyzed. They had diagnosed spondylolisthes in L-spine X-ray. They were treated by acupuncture and moxibustion therapy in Wonkwang Oriental Hospital from May, 1998 to May, 2000. Results : 1) The causes were congenital (4.5%), overwork (31.85%), trauma (13.65%), degenerative factor(50%) 2) The DITI results showed 45.4% below $0.3^{\circ}C$, 36.4% between 0.3 and $0.5^{\circ}C$, 4.5% between 0.5 and $0.7^{\circ}C$, 9.1% between 0.7 and $0.9^{\circ}C$, and 4.5% over $0.9^{\circ}C$. 3) The results of treatment using pain scale showes that 27.3% of patientsachieved excellent recovery and 54.6% achieved good recovery. After compairing the DITI results before and after treatment, we found 45.4% of patients achieved excellent recovery and 36.4% achieved good recovery. Conclusion : Acupuncture showed good results over 81.9% in clinical evaluation and 81.8% in DITI. Thermographic examination was valuable in the evaluation of therapeutic effect of acupuncture treatment.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the distribution of nerves in the rat circumvallate papilla by each developing stage. The distribution of nerves in the rat circumvallate papilla were investigated by means of immunohistochemistry for detection of calcitonin gene-related peptide(CGRP). The results were as follows : CGRP-immunoreactive(IR) nerve fibers entered the base of the papilla laterally to form a subepithelial plexus. On the 1st postnatal day, the bead-like appearance, typical appearance of CGRP-IR nerve fiber, was seen, but from the 5th postnatal day the bead-like appearance was seen less clearly and nerve fibers looking like a line were often observed. Mature taste buds having taste pores were first seen at the 10th postnatal day and then, increased markedly after this stage. CGRP-IR nerve fibers entering the epithelium were rarely seen on the 5th postnatal day but they increased in number on the 10th postnatal day when mature taste buds having taste pores were firstly observed and then on the 15th postnatal day, they were observed abundantly throughout entire epithelium. But from the 20th postnatal day, the nerve fibers in the lower two-third of the trench wall in which taste buds exist decreased but on the top surface and upper one-third of the trench wall the nerve fibers were observed limitedly.
This study was conducted to analyze the Job Satisfaction, Nursing Professionalism, and Nursing Work Environment of Comprehensive Nursing Care Ward nurses and General Ward nurses and provide a convergent basic data. The participants of this study were clinical nurses in the Seoul and Gyeonggi provinces in May 1st.~July 30th., 2016. The data was analysed using SPSS WIN 23.0. When comparing General Ward 100 nurses and Comprehensive Nursing Care Ward 92 nurses, the Nursing Work Environment levels (t=3.027, p=.003) and Job Satisfaction levels (t=2.451, p=.015) were higher in General Wards. Among the General Ward nurses, higher Nursing Professionalism levels had positive correlations to Job Satisfaction levels(r=.605, p<.001). Among the Comprehensive Nursing Care Service Ward nurses, higher Nursing Professionalism levels also had positive correlations to Job Satisfaction levels(r=.642, p<.001). In conclusion, a strategy for the establishment of Nursing Work Environment and Nursing Professionalism is necessary in order to guarantee a higher quality of comprehensive nursing care service.
Objectives : The objective of this study is to apply the contents of "WaHyul(訛穴 : The errors of acupoint locations"of "ChimGuKyungHumBang" to modern acupoint locations. Methods : The text of "WaHyul" was closely examined and analyzed. "WHO standard acupuncture point locations in the western pacific region" was reviewed based on its contents. Results : According to the analysis, the correct 少商(LU11) was mentioned as a spot appropriately distanced from the corner of the nail root under the skin. This is the most accurate and reasonable synthesis of other related texts. Furthermore, the necessity of defining the locations of all the well points was also emphasized and their locations were mentioned that could be located by the same method. There is no further discussion of other acupoints apart from descriptions of their locations from other texts. Some parts that were pointed out as common errors included not only commonly made mistakes, but errors made in acupuncture texts as were true for 神門(HT7) and 肩井(GB21). The standards of 少商(LU11), 合谷(LI4) and 足三里(ST36) presented in the WHO Standardization are not only similar to what 「WaHyul」 indicated as errors in acupoint locations, but also deviate other acupuncture texts; appropriate corrections must be made. The standard of 肩井(GB21) presents a new acupoint locating method never mentioned before in received classic acupuncture texts and so a rediscussion is in need. Other standards, such as the 絶骨(GB39), had some points of controversy, yet somewhat incomplete while HT7 did not go beyond the bounds of "WaHyul". Conclusions : "WaHyul" can be used to revise WHO standards, and has practical value in modern acupoint locating.

Introduction: This study aims to investigate the effects of acupuncture stimulation on the radial artery's pressure pulse wave, along with various hemodynamic parameters, and to explore the possible underlying mechanism of pulse diagnosis in healthy participants in their twenties. Methods and analysis: This study is a prospective, single-arm, exploratory clinical study. A total of 25 healthy participants, without regard to gender, in their twenties will be recruited by physicians. Written informed consent will be obtained from all participants. The participants will receive acupuncture once at ST36 on both sides. The radial arterial pulse waves will be measured on the left arm of the subjects by using an applicable pulse tonometric device (KIOM-PAS). On the right arm (appearing twice), electrocardiogram (ECG), photoplethysmogram (PPG), respiration and cardiac output (CO) signals, will be measured using a physiological data acquisition system (Biopac module), while the velocity of blood flow, and the diameter and the depth of the blood vessel will be measured using an ultrasonogram machine on the right arm (appearing twice). All measurements will be conducted before, during, and after acupuncture. The primary outcome will be the spectral energy at high frequencies above 10 Hz ($SE_{10-30Hz}$) calculated from the KIOM-PAS device signal. Secondary outcomes will be various variables obtained from the KIOM-PAS device, ECG, PPG, impedance cardiography modules, and an ultrasonogram machine. Discussion: The results of this trial will provide information regarding the physiological and the hemodynamic mechanisms underlying acupuncture stimulation and clinical evidence for the influence of acupuncture on the pressure pulse wave in the radial artery. Ethics and dissemination: This study was approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of Kyung Hee University's Oriental Medical Center, Seoul, Korea (KOMCIRB-150818-HR-030). The study findings will be published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international conferences. Trial registration number: This trial was registered with the Clinical Research Information Service (CRIS) at the Korea National Institute of Health (NIH), Republic of Korea (KCT0001663), which is a registry in the World Health Organization's (WHO's) Registry Network.

This study aimed to analyze the relative effects of parents' child-rearing attitudes and the quality of peer and teacher relationships on poor adolescents' self-resilience and self-esteem. The subjects were 639 1st grade middle school students from the firstly poor, the secondary poor, and the thirdly poor families who participated in the Korea Child Youth Panel Surveys(KCYPS). The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and hierarchical regressions. The results of this study were as follows. Firstly, the poor adolescents' self-resilience were influenced by the quality of peer relationships, parents' child-rearing attitudes, and the quality of teacher relationships in order and the specific variables enhancing adolescents' self-resilience were communication between adolescents and peers, trust with peers, parents' love, reasonable explanation, supervision, and teacher-adolescents' friendly relationships. Secondly, the poor adolescents' self-esteem were influenced by parents' child-rearing attitudes, the quality of peer relationships, and the quality of teacher relationships in order and the specific variables enhancing adolescents' self-esteem were parents' love, supervision, inconsistency, senses of non-alienation among peers, communication between adolescents and peers, trust with peers, and teacher-adolescents' friendly relationships. Finally, the future directions of education welfare programs targeting poor adolescents were suggested on the basis of the results.
In order to confirm the level of professional commitment and organizational commitment of the home health care nurses and the public health nurses, this study was carried out by using the Commitment Inventory developed by Meyer and Allen and modified by Rhee and others. To compare the commitment level between two professionals, data was collected through self-administered questionnaires from the 61 home health care nurses and the 134 public health nurses working in 25 public health centers in Seoul. The results are as follows: 1. Commitment level of' the Home Health Care Nurses ($4.7{\pm}0.7$) was significantly higher than that of the Public Health Nurses($4.4{\pm}0.7$). The level. of the professional commitment of the home health care nurses($5.0{\pm}0.9$) was higher than that of the Public Health Nurses($4.5{\pm}0.8$). The level of the organizational commitment of the of Home Health Care Nurses($4.5{\pm}0.7$) was higher than that of the public health nurses($4.3{\pm}0.6$). 2. The higher of affective professional commitment was shown in the home health care nurses, and the higher level of continuance professional commitment was shown in the public health nurses. The higher levels of normative professional commitment and affective organizational commitment were shown in the Home Health Care Nurses, and the higher level of continuance organizational commitment was shown in the home health care nurses. The higher level of normative organizational commitment was shown in the home health care nurses. 3. The level of professional commitment was statistically different in age and educational level. The level of affective professional commitment of the of home health nurses with higher-educated was higher than that of the lower-educated group. The level of organizational commitment of the Home Health Nurses in higher age was higher than that in lower age.
Lightning data, observed from total lightning detection system (TLDS) of KMA, for the recent five years (2002-2006) have been analyzed for temporal and spatial characteristics of frequency, intensity, duration, and flash rate. Lightning frequency varies largely with years (most frequent in 2006) and the lightning during the summer accounts for 75% of total flashes and only 0.6% of lightnings strike in cold season. In rainy season (JJAS), the ratio of positive flashes to negative ones is as low as 0.15, but it increases up to 0.98 in February. The seasonal variation of lightning duration is strongly linked with lightning occurrences, whereas flashes rates show weak seasonal variability. In a daily scale, lightning, on average, occurs more often at dawn (2 am, 5-7 am) and in the mid-afternoon (15 pm), and the lightning at dawn (around 5 am) is most intense during the day. The western inland areas md the West/South Sea show high lightning density during JJAS, whereas eastern part and the East Sea exhibit a low density of lightning. Considering the low ratio of positive flashes (0.15) for the whole analysis domain during summer period, Chungnam and Jeonbuk areas have a high ratio of flashes over 0.4. However, these should be analyzed with much caution because weak positive cloud-to-cloud discharges can be regarded as cloud-to-ground flashes. The western inland also exhibits long annual flash hours (15-24). And the W3st Sea has high flash rates as a result of large density and low flash hours. The most frequent time of lightning occurrence over most inland areas lies between mid-afternoon and early-evening, whereas mountainous and coastal areas, and the northern Kyoungki and Hwanghae provinces show the maximum lightning strikes in the morning and at dawn, respectively.
Two rhyolitic rocks were taken at punggog of the Jangseong sheet in the Taebaegsan mineralized area and isotopically dated by K-Ar whole rock method. One is a rhyolite which gives $62.69{\pm}1.15Ma$ and the other is a rhyolitic tuff which gives $51.67{\pm}6.64Ma$, respectively. Generally K-Ar whole rock ages of the volcanic rocks can be assumed to be the formation age of them, if there is no geological criterion of secondary effects. But the two rhyolitic rocks were slightly hydrothermally altered and the age the rhyolitic tuff is a little younger than that of the rhyolite. However, there is no geological criterion to show any big hiatus between them in field, yet. Therefore, the age data would be interpreted, as that the rhyolitic rock mass has been probably extruded at about 60 Ma, a little older than 60 Ma, in the area. The ages of them probably appear to be secondary ages after the alteration. This fact well coincides with the K-Ar whole rock age of quartz-porphyry ($57.25{\pm}0.89Ma$) distributed near the 1st Yeonhwa Pb-Zn mine (Park et al., personal comm.), because the quartz-porphyry look to be a product of hydrothermal alteration of the volcanic rock.
