  • The Fe(II)-isothiocyanato complex $trans-[FeH(NCS)(dppe)_2]$ (1) eactedwith iodomethane(Mel) to give methyl isothiocyanide-Fe(n) complex, $trans-FeH(NCS(Me)-S)(dppe)_2]I(2)$. Compound 2 was oxidized to $trans-[Fe(NCS)_2(Ph_2P(O)CH_2CH_2P(O)Ph_2)_2][I_3]$ (3), which was structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction. The molecular structure of 3 showed a bent Fe-NCS group, Crystallographic data for 3: triclinic space group P1,a=11.071(2) A,b=12.054(2)A,c=12.121(1)A, $\alpha=101.02(1){\circ}C{\beta}=95.887(9){\circ}Cr=110.34(1){\circ}C$, $Z=1R(wR_2)=0.0567(0.1294)$.

  • Diazidophenylmethane derivatives(X: p-H, $p-OCH_3,\;p-F,\;p-CH_3$) were synthesized and the rate constants of hydrolysis of diazidophenylmethane derivatives were determined by UV spectrophotometry in 50:50(v/v) aqueous methanol at 25$^{\circ}C$. On the basis of rate equation, substituent effect, activation parameters, solvent effect, salt effect, and product analysis, it may be concluded that the hydrolysis of diazidophenylmethane derivatives proceed through $S_N2_CA$ mechanism below pH 2.0, while above pH 12.0 through $S_N2$ mechanism, and in the range of pH from 2 to 12 through $S_N1$ mechanism respectively.

  • The purpose of this study is to know the clinical usefulness of optimal b-values by quantitative, qualitative evaluation of DW-MRI for lesions of benignity and malignity of female pelvis. The b-values used in DWI were 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1400($s/mm^2$). Mean SNR and CNR of myoma in b-value 800 were the highest result as $84.6{\pm}4.57$(p=0.024) and $50.13{\pm}5.47$(p=0.028), Mean SNR and CNR of cervical cancer were the highest result as $12.0{\pm}2.04$(p=0.047) and $10.6{\pm}1.24$(p=0.001), Mean ADC value in myoma and cervical cancer in b-value 800 were $1.19{\times}10^{-3}mm^2/s$(p=0.008), $0.96{\times}10^{-3}mm^2/s$(p=0.027). As a qualitative analysis, the delineation and conspicuity were the highest result as $4.02{\pm}0.18$(p=0.028), $4.39{\pm}0.25$(p=0.015) on b-value 800. DW-MRI is an important method, and the optimal b values is 800 $s/mm^2$ for differentiation between benign and malignant lesions of female pelvis.

SPAWNING AND LARVAL DEVELOPMENTS OF TWO SPECIES OF POLYCLAD WORMS, STYLOCHUS IJIMAI & KABURAKI AND PSEUDOSTYLOCHUS OBSCURUS (STIMPSON) (납작벌레류(Stylochus ijimai, Pseudostylochus obscurus)의 산란 및 유생발생에 관하여)

  • 1. Stylochus ijimai spawns from May to October with peak spawning from July to September, P. obscurus spawns from June to October with peak spawning from July to September. 2. S. ijimai spawns approximately 96,000-132,000 eggs by one spawning. 1. Just after spawnings, the eggs of S. ijimai were $102\mu$ in diameter, and those of P. obscurus were $108\mu$. 4. S. ijimai and P. obscurus have simple eggs. S. ijimai develop indirectly having Gotte larvae, while P. obscurus develop directly. 5. These two species show very similar patterns of early developments from maturation division of eggs to the gastrula stage. 6. The zygots of S. ijimai reaches mesentoblast stage 48 hours after fertilization, and Gotte larvae hatch out 7 days after fertilization. The zygots of P. obscurus reaches mesentoblast stage 72 hours after fertilization, and juveniles hatch out 14 days after fertilization. 7. S. ijimai, have 14 days of planktonic larvae stages bearing strong phototacic behavior : P. obscurus have 7 days of planktonic life without phototacic behavior. 8. Newly hatched larvae of S. ijimai and P. obscurus are $138\mu\;and\;170\mu$ in length respectively. The early creeping forms of S. ijimai and P. obscurus are $152\mu\;and\;185\mu$ in length respectively. 9. In the early creeping stage S. ijimai are characterized by testing processes and flattening of the body. In the same stage P. obscurus lost 2 eye-spots in the cerebral area. 10. The early creeping larvae of these two species were found only in mud-flat substrates.

A Study on status of school health and analysis of factors affecting school nursing activities in the secondary school in Seoul (서울지역 국민학교(國民學校) 양호교사의 학교간호업무(學校看護業務) 수행정도(遂行程度)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • This study was conducted in order to grasp the condition of about the school nurse's service and to offer the basic materials of improving the school health service. The objects were comprised of 98 volunteered school nurses who take service in the elementary school. The material of this study was the questionaire suited to the purpose of this research which has been made through studying references and this questionaire has been corrected and revised three times. All the questionaire written by school-nurses. The results are as follows; 1. General features of the objects of study Average age was 35.9 and average career was 9.2 years. Except working as school-nurse, the past career was that average clinical-field was 3.4 years and health service was 4 months. Their educational level was as high as 72.4% of the objects were graduated from above 3 years college and 89.8% were married. 76.5% have religions and 94.8% were working at with national and public schools. 99.0% were doing only nursing service. 2. The conditions of the school health resources. The ratio of school-nurse to students was one to 2630. School-nurse to classes, one to 49.3, and school-nurse to teachers, one to 54. For total amount of a year budget of school health, from three hundred thousands to fifty nine hundred thousands won was most common. Expenses for purchasing medicine were used most. 58.2% of school-nurses hasn't known a year budget. There was an organization for school health in 74.2% of schools. 42.9% of nursing rooms were in the center of school and 88.8% were on first floor. Nursing room were used alone without being used by another purpose and the room size of 71.6% was below 10 pyong. 3. The conditions of school health service Average users of nursing room were 413 a month. The most of them had digestive trouble. Sending letters to home was 15.9 times a year. The most contents of letters was about health education. Object spent much time managing nursing room. 4. The degree of school health service When 2 points was given to "perform" and 1 point was to "not perform" the total average was 1.75, health education 1.89, environmental management 1.86, plan of project and evaluation 1.83, management of nursing room 1.82, health management 1.78, run of school health organization 1.32. 5. Correlation between the school health services and variables (1) The part of project plan and evaluation of school health service has relationship to existence or none-existence of school health organization (P<0.01), past health service career (P<0.05), number of classes (P<0.01), number of students (P<0.01), sending letters to home about health education (P<0.01) and number of users (P<0.05). (2) The part of nursing room management has relationship to ages (P<0.05) past clinical career (P<0.05), number of classes (P<0.05), number of students (P<0.05) and sending letters to home about health education (P<0.01). (3) The part of health education has relationship to existence or none-existence of school health organization (P<0.05), past clinical career (P<0.05), the ratio of health management to school nurse's all work (P<0.05) and the ratio of health education to school nurse's all work (P<0.01). (4) The part of environmental management to ages (P<0.01), career as a school-nurse (P<0.01), salary step(P<0.01), sending letters to home about health education (P<0.01), sending all letters to home (P<0.001), the ratio of health management to school nurse's all work (P<0.05), the ratio of health education to school nurse's all work (P<0.05) and area of school-nurse's room to be used. (5) The part of school health organization management to number of classes (P<0.05). (6) The part of health management to number of classes (P<0.05), sending letters to home about health education (P<0.001), sending all of letters to home (P<0.01) and the ratio of health management to school nurse's all work (P<0.05). (7) The part of school health service to ages (P<0.05), past clinical career (P<0.05), past health career (P<0.01), number of classes (P<0.05), number of student (P<0.05), sending letters to home about health education (P<0.05), sending all letters to home (P<0.05), the ratio of health management to school nurse's all work (P<0.05), the ratio of health education to school nurse's all work (P<0.01) and area of school - nurse's room to be used (P<0.05). ## Suggestion for further studies are as follows. 1. School-nurse should exert herself to advance a quality to take care of school population's health. 2. It is necessary that systematic support required to keep school population's health. 3. Home, school and community should make efforts cooperatively and the proper roles of students, teachers, health team members and parents must be achieved.

  • To estimate removal rate of phosphorus in aquatic grassland ecosystems of Paldangho, this investigation was conducted along with the coast of a lake. The experimental results may be summarized on communities of Typha angustata, Miscanthus sacchriflorus Phragmites communis and Scirpus tabernaemontani as follows. The annual production of phosphorus for the litters in T. angustata, M saccharsflorus, P. cam-munis and S. taiernaemontani grasslands were 10.252 g /$m^2$, 3.833 g /$m^2$, , 2.656 g /$m^2$, and 5.210 g /$m^2$, respectively. The ratio of annual production of P accumulated on surface soils in a steady state provides estimates of the removal rate r, The estimated removal rates r of P were 0.58, 0.78, 0.68 and 0.59 in T. angustata, M. sacchariflorus, P. communis and S. tabernaemontani grasslands re- spectively. The removal and accumulation of 50, 95 and of 99% of its steady state level, the estimates for P of T. angustata were 1.195, 5.173 and 8.623 years, in M. sacchariflorus were 0.880, 3.842, and 6.403 years, and in P. cammunis were 1.014, 4.390, and 7.316 years respectively, In S. tabernaemontani grassland required period were 1.178,5.099 and 8.500. Degradation of p-nitrophenol by Gamma Irradiation

  • Degradation of p-nitrophenol has been carried out using only gamma irradiation or gamma irradiation with $H_2O_2$ or $Na_2S_2O_8$. Effects of different operating parameters such as initial concentration ($50mg\;l^{-1}$, $100mg\;l^{-1}$, $200mg\;l^{-1}$, $300mg\;l^{-1}$, $400mg\;l^{-1}$, $500mg\;l^{-1}$ and $600mg\;l^{-1}$) on the extent of degradation has been investigated. At 5 kGy, $50mg\;l^{-1}$ p-nitrophenol was completely degraded, and the radiolytic degradation of p-nitrophenol was described by the pseudo-first-order kinetic model. The combination of gamma irradiation with $H_2O_2$ or $Na_2S_2O_8$ leads to an enhanced effect, which remarkably increased the degradation efficiency of p-nitrophenol and TOC removal. However, at high $H_2O_2$ concentration, the efficacy of p-nitrophenol degradation is reduced because ${\cdot}OH$ radicals are scavenged by $H_2O_2$ and $Na_2S_2O_8$.

Influence of Temperature and pH on the Stability of Dimethoxy Biphenyl Monocarboxylate${\cdot}$HCl Solutions

  • The accelerated stability of dimethoxy biphenyl monocarboxylate.HCl (DDB-S) was investigated in 6 mg/mL water solution in the pH ranging 2-10 and the temperature of $45-85^{\circ}C$. The observed rate of degradation followed first-order kinetics. The energy of activation for DDB-S degradation was calculated to be 14.1 and 16.5 $Kcal/mole$ at pH 5 and in distilled watery respectively. The degradation rate constant ($K_{25^{\circ}C}$) obtained by trending line analysis of Arrhenius plots for DDB-S was $5.3{\times}10^{-6}h^{-1}$. The times to degrade 10% ($t_{10}$) and 50% $t_{500}$) at $K_{25^{\circ}C}$ were 829 and 5,416 days, respectively. DDB-S exhibited the fastest degradation at pH 10 and the slowest rate at pH 5. In addition, at $K_{65^{\circ}C}$, degradation rate constants of DDB-S were 0.066, 0.059, 5.460, 32.171, and $1.4{\times}10^{-6}h^{-1}$ at pH 2, 5, 8, 10 and in distilled water, respectively. These observations indicated that the rate-pH profile of DDB-S showed general acid-base catalysis reaction in the range of pH 2-10.

Antigastritic and Anti-ulcerative Effect of P020701 (생약복합제 P020701의 항위염 및 항궤양 효과)

  • Present study was carried out for development of a new supplementary product with gastroprotective effect. Natural Products mentioned that have GI protective property in Dongeuibogam and reports were evaluated anti-bacterial activity against Helicobacter pylori, then five heres were selected. The material used for the test were water extract of Alpinia oxyphlla (AO), Astragalus membranaceus (AM), Cinnamomum loureirii(CL), Citrus aurantium(CA), Amomum villosum(AV). They were tested individually on HCI ethanol-induced gastric lesion in rats, AV CL, AO showed the most significant effectiveness, respectively. Then two mixture different in their content ratio (P020701-1,-2) and complex with P020701-1 (CP) were made, and tested on HCI·ethanol, indomethacin-induced gastric lesion, aspirin-ligature, Shay ulcer and gastric secretion. P020701-1, -2 and CP showed significant effect on HCI ethanol, indomethacin-induced gastric lesion, and Shay ulcer. It can be regarded that the antigasuitic and anti-ulcerative effects of P020701- 1, -2 and CP are originated from reduction of total acid output identified by gastric secretion test.
