$\alpha$-Sialon 세라믹스의 역학적 성질과 산화거동에 미치는 $Y_2O_3$$CeO_2$의 첨가영향 (Effect of Yttria and Ceria on Mechanical Properties and Oxidation Behaviors of $\alpha$-Sialon Ceramics)

  • The powder mixture of Si3N4-AlN-Y2O3, Si3N4-AlN-CeO2 and Si3N4-AlN-Y2O3-CeO2 system was hot-pressed at 175$0^{\circ}C$ for 2h in N2 to prepare $\alpha$-Sialon ceramics. The mechanical property and oxidation behaviour of the prepared $\alpha$-Sialon ceramics were investigated. At 120$0^{\circ}C$, oxidation resistance was best for the Y2O3 added $\alpha$-Sialon ceramics and oxidation rate increased when the amount of CeO2 increased. But when the mixture of Y2O3 and CeO2 added $\alpha$-Sialon ceramics showed a good oxidation resistance. Fracture toughness of (Y2O3+CeO2) added $\alpha$-Sialon ceramics was higher than Y2O3 added $\alpha$-Sialon ceramics.

$N_2{O}$가스로 재산화시킨 oxynitride막의 특성 (Properties of the oxynitride films formed by thermal reoxidation in $N_2{O}$ gas)

  • Properties of oxynitride films reoxidized by $N_2{O}$ gas after thermal oxidation and $N_2{O}$ oxide films directly oxidized by using $N_2{O}$ gas on the bare silicon wafer have been studied. From the AES analysis, nitrogen pile-up at the interface of Si/oxynitride and Si/$N_2{O}$ oxide has observed. $N_2{O}$ oxide and oxynitride films have the self-limited characteristics. Therefore, it will be possible to obtain ultra-thin films. Nitrogen pile-up at the interfaces of Si/oxynitride and Si/$N_2{O}$ oxide strengthens film structure and improves dielectric reliability. Although fixed charge densities and interface trap densities of N20 oxide and oxynitride films have somewhat higher than those of thermal $SiO_2{O}$, $N_2{O}$ oxide and oxynitride films showed improved I-V characteristics and constant current stress.

Al/$BaTa_2O_6$/GaN MIS 구조의 특성 (Characteristics of Al/$BaTa_2O_6$/GaN MIS structure)

  • 일반적인 산화 절연 게이트 대신 $BaTa_2O_6$를 사용한 GaN metal-insulator-semiconductor(MIS) 구조를 제작하였다. $Al_2O_3$(0001) 기판 위에서와 GaAs(001) 기판 위에서의 GaN 막의 누설 전류는 각각 $10^{-12}-10^{-13}A/cm^2$$10^{-6}-10^{-7}A/cm^2$로 측정되었다. 이 막의 누설전류는 각각 $Al_2O_3$(0001) 기판 위의 GaN인 경우는 45 MV/cm가 넘는 공간전하 제한전류에 의하여, GaAs(001) 기판 위의 GaN인 경우는 Poole-Frenkel 방출에 따른다는 것을 확인하였다.

Effect of Nitrogen Application Rates on Nitrous Oxide Emission during Crop Cultivations in Upland Soil

  • BACKGROUND: Generally, nitrogen (N) fertilization higher than the recommended dose is applied during vegetable cultivation to increase productivity. But higher N fertilization also increases the concentrations of nitrate ions and nitrous oxide in soil. In this experiment, the impact of N fertilization was studied on nitrous oxide ($N_2O$) emission to standardize the optimum fertilization level for minimizing $N_2O$ emission as well as increasing crop productivity. Herein, we developed $N_2O$ emission inventory for upland soil region during red pepper and Chinese milk vetch cultivation. METHODS AND RESULTS: Nitrogen fertilizers were applied at different rates to study their effect on $N_2O$ emission during red pepper and Chinese milk vetch cultivation. The gas samples were collected by static closed chamber method and $N_2O$ concentration was measured by gas chromatography. The total $N_2O$ flux was steadily increased due to increasing N fertilization level, though the overall pattern of $N_2O$ emission dynamics was same. Application of N fertilization higher than the recommended dose increased the values of both seasonal $N_2O$ flux (94.5% for Chinese cabbage and 30.7% for red pepper) and $N_2O$ emission per unit crop yield (77.9% for Chinese cabbage and 23.2% for red pepper). Nitrous oxide inventory revealed that the $N_2O$ emission due to unit amount of N application from short-duration vegetable field in fall (autumn) season (6.36 kg/ha) was almost 70% higher than that during summer season. CONCLUSION: Application of excess N-fertilizers increased seasonal $N_2O$ flux especially the $N_2O$ flux per unit yield during both Chinese cabbage and red pepper cultivation. This suggested that the higher N fertilization than the recommended dose actually facilitates $N_2O$ emission than boosting plant productivity. The $N_2O$ inventory for upland farming in temperate region like Korea revealed that $N_2O$ flux due to unit amount of N-fertilizer application for Chinese cabbage in fall (autumn) season was comparatively higher than that of summer vegetables like red pepper. Therefore, the judicious N fertilization following recommended dose is required to suppress $N_2O$ emission with high vegetable productivity in upland soils.

Corrosion of Fe-2%Mn-0.5%Si Steels at 600-800℃ in N2/H2O/H2S Atmospheres

  • Fe-2%Mn-0.5%Si alloys were corroded at 600, 700 and $800^{\circ}C$ for up to 70 h in 1 atm of $N_2$ gas, or 1 atm of $N_2/H_2O$-mixed gases, or 1 atm of $N_2/H_2O/H_2S$-mixed gases. Oxidation prevailed in $N_2$ and $N_2/H_2O$ gases, whereas sulfidation dominated in $N_2/H_2O/H_2S$ gases. The oxidation/sulfidation rates increased in the order of $N_2$ gas, $N_2/H_2O$ gases, and, much more seriously, $N_2/H_2O/H_2S$ gases. The base element of Fe oxidized to $Fe_2O_3$ and $Fe_3O_4$ in $N_2$ and $N_2/H_2O$ gases, whereas it sulfidized to FeS in $N_2/H_2O/H_2S$ gases. The oxides or sulfides of Mn or Si were not detected from the XRD analyses, owing to their small amount or dissolution in FeS. Since FeS was present throughout the whole scale, the alloys were nonprotective in $N_2/H_2O/H_2S$ gases.

Synthesis and Characterization of Various Di-N-Functionalized Tetraaza Macrocyclic Copper(II) Complexes

  • Two copper(II) complexes, [CuL3](ClO4)2 bearing one N-CH2CH2CONH2 group as well as one N-CH2CH2CN group and [CuL4](ClO4)2 bearing two N-CH2CH2CONH2 groups, have been prepared by the selective hydrolysis of [CuL2](ClO4)2 (L2 = C-meso-1,8-bis(cyanoethyl)-5,5,7,12,12,14-hexamethyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane). The complex [CuL5](ClO4)2 bearing one N-CH2CH2C(=NH)OCH3 and one N-CH2CH2CN groups has been prepared as the major product from the reaction of [CuL2](ClO4)2 with methanol in the presence of triethylamine. In acidic aqueous solution, the N-CH2CH2C(=NH)OCH3 group of [CuL5](ClO4)2 undergoes hydrolysis to yield [CuL6](ClO4)2 bearing both N-CH2CH2COOCH3 and N-CH2CH2CN groups. The crystal structure of [CuL5](ClO4)2 shows that the complex has a slightly distorted square-pyramidal coordination polyhedron with an apical Cu-N (N-CH2CH2C(=NH)OCH3 group) bond. The apical Cu-N bond distance (2.269(3) A) is ca. 0.06 A longer than the apical Cu-O (N-CH2CH2CONH2 group) bond of [CuL4](ClO4)2. The pendant amide group of [CuL3](ClO4)2 is involved in coordination. The carboxylic ester group of [CuL6](ClO4)2 is also coordinated to the metal ion in various solvents but is removed from the coordination sphere in the solid state.

밭 토양으로부터 아질산(N2O기체의 배출량 측정과 배출특성 (N2O Emissions from Agricultural Soils and Their Characteristics)

  • A closed chamber system was used for measuring $N_2$0 fluxes from an agriculturally managed upland soil in Kunsan during the growing season from May to July 2002. It is known that soil is one dominant source of atmospheric $N_2$O, contributing to about 57% (9 Tg y $^{-1}$ ) of the total annual global emission. Hence, its increasing emissions and concentrations are largely associated with agricultural activities. In order to elucidate characteristics of soil nitrogen emissions from intensively managed agricultural soils and to understand the roles of soil parameters (soil moisture, soil pH, soil temperature, and soil nitrogen) in the gas emission, $N_2$O soil emissions were measured at every hour during the experimental period (21 days). Soil $N_2$O fluxes were calculated based on changes of $N_2$O concentrations measured inside a closed chamber at every hour. The analysis of $N_2$O was made by using a Gas Chromatography (equipped with Electron Capture Detector). Soil parameters at sampling plots were also analyzed. Monthly averaged $N_2$O fluxes during May, June, and July were 0.14, 0.05, and 0.13 mg-$N_2$O m$^{-2}$ h$^{-1}$ , respectively. Soil temperature and soil pH did not significantly vary over the experimental period; soil temperatures ranged from 12∼$25^{\circ}C$, and soil pH ranged 4.56∼4.75. However, soil moisture varied significantly from 32% to 56% in WFPS. Relationships between soil parameters and $N_2$O fluxes exhibited positive linear relationships. Strong positive correlation ($R^2$ = 0.57, P< 0.0001) was found between $N_2$O flux and sil moisture. It suggests that soil moisture has affected strongly soil $N_2$O emissions during the experimental periods, while other parameters have remained relatively at constant levels. $N_2$O flux from agricultural soils was significant and should be taken account for the national emission inventory.

세자리 Schiff Base 리간드의 몰리브덴 착물에 관하여 (제1보) (Studies on the Molybdenum Complexes with Tridentate Schiff Base Ligand (I))

  • 세자리 schiff base리간드로서 salicylidene amino-o-hydroxy benzene 은 salicylaldehyde와 o-amino phenol로서 합성하였으며 이 세자리 schiff base 리간드와 Mo(VI), Mo(V), Mo(IV) 및 Mo(III) 의 과산화상태의 몰리브덴 착물들의 반응으로 새로운 착물[Mo O$_2(H_2O)\;(C_{13}H_9O_2N)]$, [MoO Cl(H$_2O)(C_13H_9O_2N)]$, $[Mo(SCN)_2(H_2O)(C_{13}H_9O2_N)]$$[Mo(H_2O)_2 (C_{13}H_9O_2N)]_2O$들을 얻었다. 이들 착물에서 Mo(VI), Mo(V) 및 Mo(IV)착물들은 리간드와 몰리브덴의 mole비가 1:1인 착물로서 몰리브덴 이온은 6배위 팔면체로서 주어지나 Mo(III) 착물은 Mo-O-Mo의 산소 bridge bond를 갖는 poly nuclear 착물로서 mole비 1:1인 착물로 주어짐을 원소분석치와 자외선흡광도 및 적외선 spectra의 고찰로서 알아보았다.

One-Pot Reaction Involving Two Different Amines and Formaldehyde Leading to the Formation of Poly(Macrocyclic) Cu(II) Complexes

  • New polynuclear poly(hexaaza macrocyclic) copper(II) complexes $[1](ClO_4)_{2n}{\cdot}(H_2O)_{2n}$, $[2](ClO_4)_{2n}{\cdot}(H_2O)_{2n}$, and $[3](ClO_4)_{2n}{\cdot}(H_2O)_{2n}$ have been prepared by the one-pot reaction of formaldehyde with ethylenediamine and 1,2-bis(2-aminoethoxy)ethane, 1,3-diaminopropane, or 1,6-diaminohexane in the presence of the metal ion. The polymer complexes contain fully saturated 14-membered hexaaza macrocyclic units (1,3,6,8,10,13-hexaazacyclotetradecane) that are linked by $N-(CH_2)_2-O-(CH_2)_2-O-(CH_2)_2-N$, $N-(CH_2)_3-N$, or $N-(CH_2)_6-N$ chains. The mononuclear complex $[Cu(H_2L^5)](ClO_4)_4$ ($H_2L^5$ = a protonated form of $L^5$) bearing two $N-(CH_2)_2-O-(CH_2)_2-O-(CH_2)_2-NH_2$ pendant arms has also been prepared by the metal-directed reaction of ethylenediamine, 1,2-bis(2-aminoethoxy)ethane, and formaldehyde. The polymer complexes were characterized employing elemental analyses, FT-IR and electronic absorption spectra, molar conductance, X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and scanning electron micrograph (SEM). Electronic absorption spectra of the complexes show that each macrocyclic unit of them has square-planar coordination geometry with a 5-6-5-6 chelate ring sequence. The polymer complexes as well as $[Cu(H_2L^5)]^{4+}$ are quite stable even in concentrated $HClO_4$ solutions. Synthesis and characterization of the polynuclear and mononuclear copper(II) complexes are reported.

화력발전소용 V2O5/TiO2계 촉매상에서 NH3-SCR 탈질반응으로부터의 N2O 생성 (Formation of N2O in NH3-SCR DeNOxing Reaction with V2O5/TiO2-Based Catalysts for Fossil Fuels-Fired Power Stations)

  • $V_2O_5/TiO_2$계 촉매상에서 $NH_3$에 의한 $NO_x$의 선택적환원은 310의 지구온난화지수를 갖는 $N_2O$의 또 다른 인위적인 배출원이 될 수 있는 것으로 보고되고 있으므로, 본 총설은 화석연료를 연소시키는 화력발전소용 상기 촉매상에서 SCR 탈질반응 동안에 $N_2O$ 생성과 관계되는 주요 변수들의 유의성을 다루고자 한다. $NH_3$-SCR 탈질반응에서 $N_2O$ 배출은 $NH_3$ 산화반응에 더하여 반응 중에 존재하는 $NO_x$$NH_3$ 간의 부반응을 통해 일어나 이 부반응들의 정도는 SCR 촉매의 활성성분인 $V_2O_5$의 함량과 조촉매의 종류($WO_3$$MoO_3$), 반응온도, $NO_2/NO_x$ 비율, 산소농도, 공간속도, 수분함량, 열처리 등과 같은 유입가스 조건과 운전변수 및 화력발전소 현장에 설치된 상용 SCR 탈질공정에서 격은 촉매의 이력에 크게 의존한다. 상기의 모든 변수들이 탈질반응에서 $N_2O$ 생성과 관계된다고 할지라도, 몇몇 핵심변수들이 $N_2O$ 생성에 미치는 영향과 상용 SCR 공정에서 $N_2O$ 생성을 억제할 수 있는 방안이 고찰되었다.
