This study was conducted to establish the tissue culture system for Korean domestic Miscanthus sinensis, which is used in various purposes such as forage, and bio-energy resources. With the mature seed of Miscanthus, optimum concentrations of plant growth regulators were identified for an efficient callus induction and regeneration. Among the treatments of 1~10 $mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ 2,4-D, IBA, or NAA, callus induction rate was highest (85.3%) on MS medium containing 5 $mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ 2,4-D. Under the condition, the callus were efficiently induced and proliferated with comparably lower frequencies of callus browning. In shoot regeneration, the treatment of NAA combined with BAP seemed to contribute more efficient conditions to shoot regeneration than those of NAA with Kinetin or 2-iP. Especially, regeneration efficiency and number of regenerated plants were 83.7% and 5.5 in 3 $mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ NAA with 5 $mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ BAP, respectively, which were higher frequencies than those in NAA with Kinetin or 2-iP. In results, 5 $mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ 2,4-D and 3 $mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ NAA combined with 5 $mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ BAP were efficient for embryogenic callus induction and regeneration of Miscanthus. This system would be useful for mass-propagation and developing new cultivars via tissue culture of Miscanthus sinensis.

The corrosion behavior of the Inconel X-750 alloy was investigated for its potential application under a Cl2-O2 mixed gas flow in an Ar atmosphere. The corrosion rate was found to be negligible at temperatures up to 400℃ under a flow rate of 30 mL·min-1 Cl2 + 170 mL·min-1 Ar, whereas an exponential increase was observed in the corrosion rate at temperatures greater than 500℃. The suppression of the corrosion reaction due to the presence of O2 was verified experimentally at flow rates of 30 mL·min-1 Cl2 (4.96 g·m-2·h-1), 20 mL·min-1 Cl2 + 10 mL·min-1 O2 (2.02 g·m-2 ·h-1), and 10 mL·min-1 Cl2 + 20 mL·min-1 O2 (1.34 g·m-2·h-1) under a constant Ar flow rate of 170 mL·min-1 at 600℃ for 8 h. The surface morphology analysis results revealed that porous surfaces with tunnel-type holes were produced under the Cl2-O2 mixed-gas condition. Furthermore, the effects of the Cl2 flow rate on the corrosion rate were investigated, indicating that its impact was negligible within the range of 5-30 mL·min-1 Cl2 at 600℃.
Optimization of the medium and fermentation conditions for erythritol production has been studied. We have found that the optimal carbon source was glucose at the concentration of 400 g/L. The optimal temperature was 3$0^{\circ}C$ with excessive aeration. Improved erythritol productivity was achieved by reducing the yeast extract from 5 g/L to 3g/L while adding 2.7 g/L urea, 1.79g/L $K_2HPO_4, and 0.18g/L MgSO$_4$. 7$H_2O. The erythritol productivity increased from 0.747 g/L/h to 1.071 g/L/h and the yield increased from 31.4% to 45.2%. The byproduct glycerol was reduced from 96.6g/L to 45.7g/L as well. We have performed 5L fermentation with and without the pH control. The erythritol productivity with the pH control was about 30% lower than that without pH control. Excessive foaming of 5L fermentation has been observed during fermentation.

This study was conducted to derive optimal design floods by Gumbel, GEV, GLO and GPA distributions for the annual maximum series at sixteen watersheds. Adequacy for the analysis of flood data used in This study was established by the tests of Independence, Homogeneity, detection of Outliers. Parameters were estimated by the Methods of L, L1 and L2-moments. Design floods obtained by Methods of L, L1 and L2-moments using Gringorten methods for plotting positions in GEV distribution were compared by the Relative Mean Errors and Relative Absolute Errors.
The Lie algebra analogue of Schur's result which is proved by Moneyhun in 1994, states that if L is a Lie algebra such that dimL/Z(L) = n, then $dimL_{(2)}={\frac{1}{2}}n(n-1)-s$ for some non-negative integer s. In the present paper, we determine the structure of central factor (for s = 0) and the factor Lie algebra $L/Z_2(L)$ (for all $s{\geq}0$) of a finite dimensional nilpotent Lie algebra L, with n-dimensional central factor. Furthermore, by using the concept of n-isoclinism, we discuss an upper bound for the dimension of $L/Z_n(L)$ in terms of $dimL_{(n+1)}$, when the factor Lie algebra $L/Z_n(L)$ is finitely generated and $n{\geq}1$.
It has become apparent from the recent work by Choi et al. [3] on the nonlinear beam deflection problem, that analysis of the integral operator $\mathcal{K}$ arising from the beam deflection equation on linear elastic foundation is important. Motivated by this observation, we perform investigations on the eigenstructure of the linear integral operator $\mathcal{K}_l$ which is a restriction of $\mathcal{K}$ on the finite interval [$-l,l$]. We derive a linear fourth-order boundary value problem which is a necessary and sufficient condition for being an eigenfunction of $\mathcal{K}_l$. Using this equivalent condition, we show that all the nontrivial eigenvalues of $\mathcal{K}l$ are in the interval (0, 1/$k$), where $k$ is the spring constant of the given elastic foundation. This implies that, as a linear operator from $L^2[-l,l]$ to $L^2[-l,l]$, $\mathcal{K}_l$ is positive and contractive in dimension-free context.

Salinity with sodic condition disturbs germination, retards emergence, and slow down seedling development of Lemon Grass (Cymbopogon citratus).Lemongrass is a perennial grass plant widely distributed worldwide and most especially in tropical and subtropical countries. This research experiment was designed to evaluate the influences of (4 dSm-1+ 13.5 (mmol L-1)-1/2, 5 dSm-1+ 25 (mmol L-1)1/2, 5 dSm-1+ 30 (mmol L-1)1/2, 10 dSm-1+ 25 (mmol L-1)1/2 and 10 dSm-1+ 30 (mmol L-1)1/2) on biomass produce of lemon grass against salt tolerance. The uppermost biomass yield (45.53 gpot-1) was produced by 4 dSm-1+ 13.5 (mmol L-1)1/2 treatment. The increase in the intensity of salts reduced the growth of lemon grass. Lower biomass yield (79.33 gpot-1) was gained at 10 dSm-1+ 30 (mmol L-1)1/2. 5 dSm-1+ 25 (mmol L-1)1/2 treatment performed enhanced outcome i.e. the least reduction % over control (5.87). Salinity- sodicity showed serious effect on the growth reduction from 5.87% to33.60%. This reduction gap was affected by the negative effect of salinity and sodicity on Linseed growth. Salinity- sodicity showed severe impact on the growth reduction from 5.87% to33.60%. Based on the findings, lemon Grass (Cymbopogon citratus).was capable to grow up the maximum at 4 dSm-1+ 13.5 (mmol L-1)1/2 treatment.
The mutant with high productivity, X. malvacearum SNUF 560-6, was acquired from the X. malvacearum SNUF 560 with low productivity by UV-light irradiation. It was preserved is lyophilized stock culture and it was transferred to PDA slant to maintain viability fortnightly. Fermentations were started by retransfering to MY agar slant from PDA stok culture. The experiments for optimal xanthan gum production were studied in a chemically defined medium. Of the carbon and nitrogen sources tested, 0.4% sucrose medium and 10mM glutamic acid medium yielded the highest xanthan gun production respectively. The addition of 10g/l succinic acid stimulated xanthan gum production. Also 65mM $PO_4\;^{-3}\;(12.6g/l\;KH_2PO_4)$ was effective on xanthan gum production. Finally, medium 1 and medium 2 which have high xanthan gum production potencies were achieved in this stud. Procine pepsin hydrolysis of hexapeptide L-S-pNF-Nle-A-OMe in the presence of dipeptide L-L generates a new peak on HPLC analysis of reaction mixtures that is not seen when enzyme is incubated with either peptide alone. The peaks can be detected spectroscopically at either 214 or 254 nm, the latter consistent with a new peptide containing the p-nitro-F residue. The data suggest acyl transpeptidation between E(L-S-pNF) and L-L to form L-S-pNF-L-L. Consistent with this inference are (1) the ability of L-L-NH$_{2}$ and inability of Boc-L-L to undergo a similar transpeptidation reaction, and (2) the data from electrospray mass spectrum. This synthesis requires that Nle-A-L-OMe be released before L-S-pNF, an order opposite to that proposed on the basis of product inhibition kinetics. Consistent with this inference are reciprocal solvent isotope effects ; normal isotope effects of 1.736$\pm$0.121 on the formation of Nle-A-L-OMe and 2.281$\pm$0.184 in the formation of L-S-pNF, coupled to an inverse isotope effects of 0.576$\pm$0.045 on the formation of L-S-pNF-L-L. Because transpeptidation precedes faster in D$_{2}$O, the isotopically-sensitive step must occur after release of Nle-A-L-OMe. Isotopically-enhanced transpeptidation is consistent with the Uni-Bi iso memchanism postulated on the basis of an isotope effects on Vmax but not on Vmax/Km$^{1)}$ and confirmed by isotope effects on the onset of inhibition by pepstatin$^{2)}$.

The plate under shear loading umformly distributed on the end portions of its side boundary was considered. Infinite hyperbolic serieses and Fourier serieses were combined as a stress function and from which exact solutions for the 15 cases for the parameters of b/L=0.25, 0.5, 1.0 and l/L=0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0 are obtained. In each cases the first 5 terms of the infinite series at the 36 points as shown in Fig. 3. The results are presented in Fig. 4-1, 4-2, and 4-3. The conclusions are as follows: 1) The stresses ${\sigma}_x$ increase very slightly as $\chi$ increases in the range of 0<x<L-l 2) When the parameters satisfy the conditions b/L<0.25 and l/L<0.2, the stresses in the region of 0<x<L-l can be obtained by replacing the uniform shear loading by the equivalent uniform shear loading by the equivalent uniform tensile force and pure bending moment at x=l. 3) The stress ${\sigma}_y$ is negligible throughout the region. 4) When the parameter b/L varies, the stresses ${\sigma}_x$ and u vary as L/b, while strain $\upsilon$ varies as $(L/b)^2$.
