An Enhanced Affine Projection Sign Algorithm in Impulsive Noise Environment (충격성 잡음 환경에서 개선된 인접 투사 부호 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose a new affine projection sign algorithm (APSA) to improve the convergence speed of the conventional APSA which has been proposed to enable the affine projection algorithm (APA) to operate robustly in impulsive noise environment. The conventional APSA has two advantages; it operates robustly against impulsive noise and does not need calculation for the inverse matrix. The proposed algorithm also has the conventional algorithm's advantages and furthermore, better convergence speed than the conventional algorithm. In the conventional algorithm, each input signal is normalized by $l_2$-norm of all input signals, but the proposed algorithm uses input signals normalized by their corresponding $l_2$-norm. We carried out a performance comparison of the proposed algorithm with the conventional algorithm using a system identification model. It is shown that the proposed algorithm has the faster convergence speed than the conventional algorithm.

Adaptive Control of D.C. Motor Speed Using W.L.S. Algorithm (W.L.S. 알고리즘을 사용한 직유전동기 속도의 적응제어)

  • The indirect M.R.A.C. method using the W.L.S. algorithm is applied to the speed control of a D.C. motor on the assumption that the motor is the 1-st order, completely controllable and observable, non-minimum phase plant. By the help of M6809 microprocessor system the experiments are performed with respect to the sinusoidal and square reference input. The results show that the speed of a D.C. motor is well controlled by the indirect M.R.A.C. method using W.L.S, algorithm, and that the W.L.S. algorithm is quite suitable to the time-varying plant.

  • 라우터는 여러 곳에서 들어오는 패킷들을 빠르게 전달하는 기능을 담당하는 네트워크 장비로서, 들어오는 패킷들이 공평하게 서비스 받을 수 있도록 큐 관리 알고리즘을 사용한다. 그런데 대부분의 라우터들은 HOL 블록킹 문제 때문에 버퍼를 입력 포트 쪽이 아닌 가상적으로 출력 포트 쪽에 정의하는 VOQ로 구현을 하였고, 패킷들이 공평하게 서비스 받기 위해 DRR 알고리즘으로 구현하는 경향이 있다. 이 논문에서는 기존의 DRR 알고리즘에서 패킷 서비스를 위한 경직된 조건에 유연성을 주어 기존의 DRR 알고리즘의 복잡도와 공평성을 유지하는 한편 패킷 서비스 성능을 높여주는 NDRR 알고리즘을 제안한다.

  • In this paper, the application of the explicit M.R.A.C. algorithms to the D.C. motor speed control using the microprocessor is studied. The adaptation algorithms are derived from the gradient method and the exponentially weighted least square [E.W.L.S.] method. In order to minimize the computational instability of the E.W.L.S. method, the adaptation algorithm of UDUt factorization method is developed, and because of the characteristics of the D.C. motor (dead-aone phenomenon) , the SM. gra-dient type algorithm is also improved from the gradient type algorithm. Computer simulations and experiments show that these algorithms adapt well to the rapid change of the reference input and the load.

Convergence Analysis of Adaptive L-Filter (적응 L-필터의 수렴성 해석)

  • In this paper we analyze the convergence behavior of the recursive least rank (RLR) L-filter. The RLR L-filter is an order statistics filter, filter coefficients of which are the weights according to the order of magnitude of inputs. And RLR L-filter is a non-linear adaptive filter, that uses RLR algorithm for coefficient updating. The RLR algorithm is a non-linear adaptive algorithm based on rank estimates in Robust statistics. The mean and mean-squared convergence behavior of the RLR L-filter is examined with variable step-sizes. The RLR L-filter adapts the median filter type to the heavy-tailed distribution function of impulse noise, and adapts the average filter type to Gaussian noises.

  • 본 논문에서는 인접블록간의 움직임 유사도를 이용하여 불필요한 후보블록을 보다 빠르게 제거하는 PDE기반의 고속 블록매칭 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 기존의 방법보다 불필요한 계수를 효율적으로 제거하기 위하여 인접 블록간의 영상의 유사성에 기초하여 인접한 네개의 매크로블록 가운데 최대 복잡도를 가지는 서브블록의 누적된 비율(cumulative distribution function-CDF)을 사용하고 서브블록별 복잡도가 집중되지 않도록 하기위하여 normalized 기반 매칭스캔 방법을 사용하여 효율적으로 계산량을 줄였다. 제안한 알고리즘은 화질의 저하 없이 기존의 PDE 알고리즘에 비해 60% 이상의 계산량을 줄였으며, MPEG-2 및 MPEG-4 AVC를 이용하는 비디오 압축 응용분야에 유용하게 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • 본 논문에서는 단일 프레임 내에서 인접한 매크로 블록 간의 움직임의 유사도를 이용한 개선된 PDE 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 기존의 방법보다 불필요한 후보 블록을 효율적으로 제거하기 위하여 인접한 매크로블록간의 유사도를 고려하여 인접 4개의 매크로블록 가운데 서브 블록간 최대 복잡도를 가지는 서브블록의 CDF(cumulative distribution function)와 개선된 매칭스캔 방법을 이용하여 효율적으로 계산량을 줄였다. 제안한 알고리즘은 화질의 저하 없이 기존의 PDE 알고리즘에 비해 55% 이상의 계산량을 줄였으며, MPEG-2 및 MPEG-4 AVC를 이용하는 비디오 압축 응용분야에 유용하게 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • Task scheduling is an essential part of any computer system for allocating tasks to a processor of the system among various competitors. As we know, in real-time system, the failure of scheduling a hard real-time task my lead to disastrous consequence. Besides efficiency, resource and speed, real-time system has to take time constraint in serious consideration. This paper proposes a priority-driven scheduling algorithm for real-time multiprocessor system. which is called L-RE coordinates algorithm. L-RE coordinates is a new way of describing the task scheduling problem. In the algorithm, we take both deadline and laxity into consideration for allocating the priority. The simulation result shows that the new algorithm is viable and performance better than EDF and LLF algorithm on schedulability and context switch respectively.

  • To NP-complete 3-SAT problem, this paper proposes a O(nm) polynomial time algorithm, where n is the number of literals and m is the total frequency of all literals in equation f. Conventionally well-known DPLLs should perform O(2𝑙) in the worst case by performing backtracking if they fail to find a solution in a brute-force search of a branch-and-bound for the number of literals 𝑙. DPLL forms the core of the SAT Solver by substituting true(T) or false(F) for a literal so that a clause containing the least frequency literal is true(T) and removing a clause containing that literal. Contrary to DPLL, the proposed algorithm selects a literal max𝑙 with the maximum frequency and sets $_{\max}({\mid}l{\mid},{\mid}{\bar{l}}{\mid})=1$. It then deletes 𝑙∈ci clause in addition to ${\bar{l}}$ from ${\bar{l}}{\in}c_i$ clause. Its test results on various k-SAT problems not only show that it performs less than existing DPLL algorithm, but prove its simplicity in satisfiability verification.

  • The $L_1$-regression estimator is susceptible to the leverage points, even though it is highly robust to the vertical outliers. This article is concerned with the improvement of robustness of the $L_1$-estimator. To improve its robustness, in terms of the breakdown point, we attempt to dampen the influence of the leverage points by means of reducing the weights corresponding to the leverage points. In addition the algorithm employs the linear scaling transformation technique, for higher computational efficiency with the large data sets, to solve the linear programming problem of $L_1$-estimation. Monte Carlo simulation results indicate that the proposed algorithm yields $L_1$-estimates which are robust to the leverage points as well as the vertical outliers.
