Effects of A-site Vacancies on the Piezoelectric Properties of 0.97Bi0.5+x(Na0.78K0.22)0.5-3xTiO3-0.03LaFeO3 Lead-free Piezoelectric Ceramics (A-site Vacancy가 0.97Bi0.5+x(Na0.78K0.22)0.5-3xTiO3-0.03LaFeO3 무연압전 세라믹스의 압전특성에 미치는 영향)

  • $0.97Bi_{0.5+x}(Na_{0.78}K_{0.22})_{0.5-3x}TiO_3-0.03LaFeO_3$ lead-free piezoelectric ceramics were fabricated by a solid state reaction method. $LaFeO_3$ additives were added to $Bi_{0.5}(Na_{0.78}K_{0.22})_{0.5}TiO_3$ for volatile compensation of bismuth and sodium ions in the sintering process. To create A-site vacancies, the mole ratio and charge valence of A-site ions ($Bi^{3+}$, $Na^+$ and $K^+$) were controlled. The improved piezoelectric properties were observed by addition of $LaFeO_3$ and control of A-site vacancies. In particular, a $d_{33}^*(S_{max}/E_{max})$ value of 614pm/V and an electric field induced strain of 0.33% was observed in $0.97Bi_{0.505}(Na_{0.78}K_{0.22})_{0.485}TiO_3-0.03LaFeO_3$ ceramic.

  • Interaction of alkali oxides and SO3 and C3S formation and microstructure was studied using K2CO3 and Na2CO3 as alkali sources and (NH4)2SO4 for SO3. When SO3/K2O=1.43 as mole ratio, K2O and SO3 react to form K2SO4, this phase is immiscible with other oxide melt and thus could not affect C3S formation as well as its microstructure. In a condition of SO3/K2O 1, C3S crystals were round and grown in a much larger size. With addition of Na2O and SO3 by only 1wt% each, C3S formation was strongly hindered. Since C2S was stabilized by Na+ and SO4-2, it could not react to give C3S formation. However in the condition of SO3/Na2O=1.43, a little amount of C3S was formed. It is considered that small amount of Na2SO4 was formed, this phase was immiscible with clinker liquid, and the C3S crystals were formed locally in the liquid part of relatively low Na2O and SO3 compositions. These crystals had irregular and rough surfaces and contained more inclusions than those grown from K2O.SO3 system.

Improved stability of organic light-emitting diodes with lithium-quinolate doped electron transport layer

  • The Improved stability of organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) containing lithium-quinolate (Liq) as the ETL doping material is investigated. The lifetime could be improved by threefold using the Liq-doped ETL structure. The improvement was attributed to the Liq-doped ETL, which improved hole-electron balance and has a good electrical stability. Additionally, when the Liq doped device was combined with an Mg/Al cathode, the OLED produced a longer lifetime than other device.

  • We have studied structural and electrical properties of $(Na_{0.5}K_{0.5})NbO_3$ ceramics addition with $BiTiO_3$. The $(Na_{0.5}K_{0.5})NbO_3-BiTiO_3$ ceramics were fabricated by the conventional mixed oxide method, their dielectric and piezoelectric properties were investigated with the variations of additvie amount $BiTiO_3$. At the sintering temperature of $1130^{\circ}C$, the density, dielectric constant, grain size of 0.05mol% $BiTiO_3$ specimen showed the values of 4.69 g/$cm^3$, 898 and $24.8{\mu}m$.

Crystal Growth of Yb:YCa4O(BO3)3 and Investigation of Spectroscopic and Thermal Properties (Yb:YCa4O(BO3)3 단결정 성장과 분광 및 열적 특성 연구)

  • Yb:$YCa_4O(BO_3)_3$ (Yb:YCOB) single crystal, in which the concentration of $Yb^{3+}$ ion 20 at%, was grown by the Czocharalski method using an iridium crucible under N2 atmosphere. The optimum growth parameters to get a high quality of single crystals were found to be 1.5∼2 mm/h of pulling rate and 10∼20 rpm of rotation rate. According to the results of spectroscopic properties, absorption edge of Yb:YCOB was 236 nm. Two strong absorption line due to $Yb^{3+}$ ions were observed at 900 and 975 nm. Thermal expansion coefficients of Yb:YCOB crystal along a, b and c crystallographic axes from 320 to 650 K were 12.1${\times}10^{-6}$/K, 5.9${\times}10^{-6}$/K, 12.9${\times}10^{-6}$/K, respectively. Specific heat was 0.162 $cal/g{\cdot}K$ at 330 K.

Effects of ginseol k-g3, an Rg3-enriched fraction, on scopolamine-induced memory impairment and learning deficit in mice

  • Background: Although ginsenosides such as Rg1, Rb1 and Rg3 have shown promise as potential nutraceuticals for cognitive impairment, their use has been limited due to high production cost and low potency. In particular, the process of extracting pure Rg3 from ginseng is laborious and expensive. Methods: We described the methods in preparing ginseol k-g3, an Rg3-enriched fraction, and evaluated its effects on scopolamine-induced memory impairment in mice. Results: Ginseol k-g3 (25-200 mg/kg) significantly reversed scopolamine-induced cognitive impairment in the passive avoidance, but not in Y-maze testing. Ginseol k-g3 (50 and 200 mg/kg) improved escape latency in training trials and increased swimming times within the target zone of the Morris water maze. The effect of ginseol k-g3 on the water maze task was more potent than that of Rg3 or Red ginseng. Acute or subchronic (6 d) treatment of ginseol k-g3 did not alter normal locomotor activity of mice in an open field. Ginseol k-g3 did not inhibit acetylcholinesterase activity, unlike donezepil, an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor. Rg3 enrichment through the ginseol k-g3 fraction enhanced the efficacy of Rg3 in scopolamine-induced memory impairment in mice as demonstrated in the Morris water maze task. Conclusion: The effects of ginseol k-g3 in ameliorating scopolamine-induced memory impairment in the passive avoidance and Morris water maze tests indicate its specific influence on reference or long-term memory. The mechanism underlying the reversal of scopolamine-induced amnesia by ginseol k-g3 is not yet known, but is not related to anticholinesterase-like activity.

  • 본 논문에서는 ATSC3.0 기반 UHD 급 고정/이동방송 융합형 3DTV 서비스 시나리오에 대한 내용을 기술한다. ATSC3.0 은 북미지상파 표준화 방송방식의 차세대 지상파서비스 표준으로 2016 년 까지 기술표준 논의완료를 목표로 물리계층, 전송프로토콜계층 및 4K-UHD 서비스를 포함한 응용서비스계층으로 분류하여 표준화 논의 중에 있다. 본 논문에서는 스테레오 스코픽 콘텐츠의 좌/우영상을 각각 고정 TV 채널 및 모바일 TV 채널로 나누어 전송하고 이를 융합형 3DTV 방식을 지원하는 수신기에서 동시에 좌/우영상 신호를 수신하여 3D 영상을 합성하는 방법으로 지상파 DTV 한 채널(6MHz 대역)내에서의 4K-UHD 고정 TV 서비스, 모바일 HD 서비스 및 UHD 3D 서비스를 동시에 제공할 수 있는 고정/이동방송 융합형 3DTV 서비스 방법을 제시한다. 따라서 본 논문에서 제안하는 융합형 3DTV 서비스는 추가적인 3D 부가정보를 전송하지 않고 4K-UHD, 모바일 HD 및 UHD 3D 서비스를 시청자에게 제공 가능하다.

Effect of $SO_3$ on Calciumsilicate Formation(III) (Calciumsilicate의 생성반응에 미치는 $SO_3$ 영향(III))

  • In this study an investigation was made to determine optimum ratio between $SO_3$, MgO and $K_2O$ that maximizes $C_2S$ formation in Clinkering reaction Using response surface analysis method. It was proved that 1) Residual $K_2O$ int he clinker should be converted to $K_2SO_4$ because $K_2SO_4$ has less effect on the burnability than $K_2O$, 2) Optimum ratio if $SO_3$/K2O is 1.5, 3) Optimun balance between $CaSO_4$ and MgO is to be adjusted to such a level that w/o SO3=0.7(w/o MgO-2).4) In case of lack of $K_2O$ free CaO was minimized when $K_2SO_4$=2.3w/o and MgO=1.5w/o but if remaining $K_2O$ was 2w/o free CaI was minimized in the level that $K_2SO_4$=2.3w/o and MgO =1.5 w/o but if remaining $K_2O$ was 2 w/o free CaO was minimized in the level that $K_2SO_4$=4.5w/o and MgO =3.0 w/o.

B-site Cationic Ordering Structures of Donor-Doped Relaxor Ferroelectric $Pb({Mg_{1/3}}{Nb_{2/3})}O_3$ (전자 주게가 첨가된 완화형 강유전체 $Pb({Mg_{1/3}}{Nb_{2/3})}O_2$의 B자리 양이온 질서배열구조)

  • Single phase $Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3$ ceramics doped by 10 mol% of electron donors such as $La^3,\; Pr^{3+,4+},\; Nd^{3+},\; Sm^{3+}$, were synthesized and their B-site cationic ordering structures were investigated by XRD and TEM. In the XRD patterns, only fundamental reflections were observed for the undoped $Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3$, while the (h/2 $\textsc{k}$/2ι/2)(h,$\textsc{k}$,ι all odd) superlattice reflections resulting from the 1:1 ordering induced unit cell doubling were also observed for the donor-doped $Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3$. In the TEM selected area diffraction patterns, the (h/2 k/2 l/2)(h,k,l all odd) superlattice reflection spots as well as the fundamental reflection spots were observed for all the samples, but the relative intensities of the superlattice reflection spots to the fundamental reflection spots were significantly enhanced by the donor-doping. In the TEM dark-field images, antiphase boundaries were observed only for the donor-doped $Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3$. It was therefore experimentally verified that doping by electron donors such as $La^3,\; Pr^{3+,4+},\; Nd^{3+},\; Sm^{3+}$, enhances the B-site cationic 1:1 ordering in $Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3$. These experimental results were interpreted in terms of the charge compensation mechanism.
