Studies on the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectra of (E)-1-Aryl-3-(2- and 3-thienyl)-2-propenones and Unique Observation of 4J and 5J Coupling in Their 1H-1H COSY

  • $^1H$ and $^{13}C$ NMR spectra of series of (E)-1-aryl-(2- and 3-thienyl)-2-propenones, that are aldol condensation products between 2- and 3-thiophenecarbaldehydes and m- and p-substituted acetophenones, were examined to make complete assignments of the chemical shifts. Long range couplings, $^4J$ and $^5J$, are observed in the $^1H-^1H$ COSY of both 2- and 3-thienyl compounds, which makes the elucidation of the conformation in solution possible. In contrast, the 2-furyl analogue shows the long range coupling phenomena, but the 3-furyl and phenyl analogues do not show similar phenomena.

유통중인 발아현미밥의 품질특성 (Quality Properties of Cooked Germinated-brown Rice)

  • 시중에 유통중인 발아현미 무균포장밥 제품 2종을 대상으로 품질특성을 조사하였다. 수분함량은 $64.5\%$였으며 주요 유리당은 glucose, sucrose, maltose로 A 제품은 glucose가 $0.20\%$, B 제품은 sucrose 함량이 $0.50\%$로 각각 가장 많았다. 발아현미밥의 백색도는 69.32로 B 제품이 높았으며, vitamin E 함량은 A 제품이 $30.7\;{\mu}g/100g$, B제품이 $46.9\;{\mu}g/100g$이었고, 식이섬유 함량은 A 제품이 $2.8\%$, B 제품이 $2.2\%$로 분석되었다. DSC 특성에서는 두 제품이 전반적으로 유사한 경향을 나타내었다. 즉, peak 1의 호화개시온도는 각각 $56.5^{\circ}C$, $56.2^{\circ}C$ 호화엔탈피는 5.46 J/g, 5.56 J/g이었다. Peak 2의 호화개시온도는 $109.5^{\circ}C$, $108.9^{\circ}C$이고 용융엔탈피는 0.33 J/g, 0.37 J/g였다. 관능평가 결과에서는 외관, 맛, 조직감에서 높은평가를 받은 B 제품이 더 양호한 전반적기호도를 나타내었다.

On the Growth of Transcendental Meromorphic Solutions of Certain algebraic Difference Equations

  • In this article, we investigate the growth of meromorphic solutions of $${\alpha}(z)(\frac{{\Delta}_c{\eta}}{{\eta}})^2\,+\,(b_2(z){\eta}^2(z)\;+\;b_1(z){\eta}(z)\;+\;b_0(z))\frac{{\Delta}_c{\eta}}{{\eta}} \atop =d_4(z){\eta}^4(z)\;+\;d_3(z){\eta}^3(z)\;+\;d_2(z){\eta}^2(z)\;+\;d_1(z){\eta}(z)\;+\;d_0(z),$$ where a(z), bi(z) for i = 0, 1, 2 and dj (z) for j = 0, ..., 4 are given functions, △cη = η(z + c) - η(z) with c ∈ ℂ\{0}. In particular, when the a(z), the bi(z) and the dj(z) are polynomials, and d4(z) ≡ 0, we shall show that if η(z) is a transcendental entire solution of finite order, and either deg a(z) ≠ deg d0(z) + 1, or, deg a(z) = deg d0(z) + 1 and ρ(η) ≠ ½, then ρ(η) ≥ 1.

  • Let $C(X)(C_{K}(X))$ denote the hyperspace of all nonempty closed connected subsets (subcontinua) of a locally compact Haus-dorff space X with the Fell topology. We prove that the following statements are equivalent: (1) X is locally connected. (2) C(X) is locally connected,. (3) C(X) is locally connected at each $E{\in}C_{k}(X).(4) C_{k}(X)$ is locally connected.

TFA-MOD법으로 제조된 다층 YBCO 박막의 미세구조 관찰 (Microstructural Observation of Multi-coated YBCO Films Prepared by TFA-MOD)

  • We fabricated $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$(YBCO) films on (00l) $LaAlO_3$ substrates prepared by metal organic deposition(MOD) method using trifluoroacetate(TFA) solution. The films with various thicknesses were prepared by repeating the dip-coating and calcining processes. The effects of film thickness on phase formation, microstructures, and critical properties were evaluated by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy. The microstructure and resultant critical current($I_C$) and critical current density($J_C$) varied remarkably with film thickness: The ($I_C$) value increased from 39 to 160 A/cm-width as the number of coatings increased from one to four, while the corresponding $J_C$ was measured to be in the range of $0.84-1.21\;MA/cm^2$. Both the $I_C$ and $J_C$ decreased when an additional coating was applied due to microstructural degradation, indicating that the optimum thickness is in the range of $1.1-1.8\;{\mu}m$. The possible cause for the decrease in the $I_C$ and $J_C$ value for film thicker than $1.8\;{\mu}m$ include non-uniform thickness, increased surface roughness, and the poor formability of the YBCO phase and texture arising from the insufficient heat treatment time with respect to the increased thickness.
