Analysis of the Geological Structure of the Hwasan Caldera Using Potential Data (포텐셜 자료해석을 통한 화산칼데라 구조 해석)

  • A geophysical mapping was performed for Hwasan caldera which is located in Euisung Sub-basin of the southeastern part of the Korean Peninsula. In order to overcome the limitation of the previous studies, remote sensing technic was used and dense potential data were obtained and analyzed. First, we analyzed geological lineament for target area using geological map, digital elevation model (DEM) data and satellite imagery. The results were greatly consistent with the previous studies, and showed that N-S and NW-SE direction are the most dominant one in target area. Second, based on the lineament analysis, highly dense gravity data were acquired in Euisung Sub-basin and an integrated interpretation considering air-born magnetic data was made to investigate the regional structure of the target area. The results of power spectrum analysis for the acquired potential data revealed that the subsurface of Euisung Sub-basin have two density discontinuities at about 1 km and 3-5 km depth. A 1 km depth discontinuity is thought as the depth of pyroclastic sedimentary rocks or igneous rocks which were intruded at the ring vent of Hwasan caldera, while a 3-5 km depth discontinuity seems to be associated with the depth of the basin basement. In addition, three-dimensional gravity inversion for the total area of Euisung Sub-basin was carried out, and the inversion results indicated two followings; 1) Cretaceous Palgongsan granite and Bulguksa intrusion rocks, which are located in southeastern part and northeastern part of Euisung Sub-basin, show two major low density anomalies, 2) pyroclastic rocks around Hwasan caldera also have lower density when compared with those of neighborhood regions and are extended to 1.5 km depth. However, a poor vertical resolution of potential survey makes it difficult to accurately delineate the detailed structure caldera which has a vertically developed characteristic in general. To overcome this limitation, integrated analysis was carried out using the magnetotelluric data on the corresponding area with potential data and we could obtain more reasonable geologic structure.

Effects of Feeding Levels and Particle Size of Germanium Biotite on Pig Performance (돼지 생산성에 있어 게르마늄흑운모의 첨가수준 및 입자도의 효과)

  • Two experiments were conducted to investigate the effect of germanium biotite (GB) on growth performance, nutrient digestibility and fecal gas emission in pigs. In Exp 1., a total of one hundred nursery pigs (initial body weight 13.12${\pm}$0.15kg) were used in a 21 d growth assay. The five treatments were control (CON, basal diet), GB0.5-200 (basal diet + 0.5% GB, 200mesh), GB1.0-200 (basal diet + 1.0% GB, 200mesh), GB0.5-325 (basal diet + 0.5% GB, 325mesh), GB1.0-325 (basal diet + 1.0% GB, 325mesh). Each treatment had four replicates with five pigs per replicate. ADG, ADFI and gain/feed were not significantly different among the treatments. Fecal NH3-N concentration of pigs fed the GB325 diet was lower than that of pigs fed the GB200 diet (P=0.01). The GB treatments reduced fecal volatile fatty acids significantly compared to the CON (propionic acid, P=0.01; butyric acid, P=0.01; acetic acid, P=0.02). Especially, fecal propionic acid concentration of pigs fed the GB325 diets was lower than that of pigs fed the GB200 diets (P=0.02). In Exp 2., a total of seventy five pigs (initial body weight 21.18${\pm}$0.15kg) were used in a 28 d growth assay. The treatments were same as described for Exp. 1. Each treatment had five replicates with three pigs per replicate. The GB1.0 treatments significantly increased the ADG compared to the GB0.5 treatments (P=0.03). The DM and N digestibility of pigs fed the GB1.0 diets were higher than that for pigs fed the GB0.5 diets (P=0.01). Also, the Ca digestibility of pigs fed the GB diets was higher than that for pigs fed the CON diets (P=0.01). The fecal NH3-N concentrations for the GB treatments were lower than that for the CON (P=0.01). The GB325 treatments significantly decreased the fecal NH3-N concentration compared to the GB200 treatments (P=0.03). The fecal butyric acid concentration for the GB325 treatments was lower than that for the GB200 treatment (P=0.04). In conclusion, the results obtained from these feeding trials suggest that the dietary GB for nursery pigs affects fecal noxious gas emission. In growing pigs, dietary GB was effective to improve ADG and decrease fecal noxious gas emission.

Effects of Dietary Escherichia coli Phytase Supplementation on Growth Performance, Carcass Quality and Excretion of Copper and Zinc Concentrations in Finishing Pigs (Escherichia coli phytase의 첨가가 비육돈의 생산성, 도체특성 및 분 내 구리와 아연 함량에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate effects of dietary Escherichia coli phytase supplementation on growth performance, carcass quality and excretion of copper and zinc concentrations in finishing pigs. The total of seventy two [(Landrace×Yorkshire)×Duroc] pigs(65.43±0.72 kg in average initial body weight) were used in 56 days assay. Dietary treatments included 1) CON (basal diet) 2) P5(basal diet+phytase 0.05%) and 3) P10 (basal diet + phytase 0.1%). There were three dietary treatments with six replicate pens per treatment and four pigs per pen. During the overall periods, ADFI(Average daily feed intake) was increased (P<0.05) in phytase supplementation treatments compared to CON treatment. At the 5th week, dry matter, nitrogen and ash digestibilities were higher in P5 treatment than in CON and P10 treatments(P<0.05) and CON treatment showed the lowest effect on nutrition digestibility(P<0.05). However, phosphorus digestibility was higher in both phytase supplementation treatments than in CON treatment(P<0.05). The pH of M. logissimus dorsi was significantly higher in CON treatment than phytase supplementation treatments(P<0.05). L* value of M. logissimus dorsi muscle color was significantly increased(P<0.05) in P10 treatment compared to CON and P5 treatments. Also, a* value was increased (P<0.05) in CON treatment compared with phytase supplementation treatments. However, excretion of copper and zinc concentrations were no significant difference among the treatments. In conclusion, the effect of Escherichia coli phytase showed in ADFI, digestibilities, pH and color of meat in finishing pigs.

CLINICAL STUDY OF SENSORY ALTERATIONS AFTER SAGITTAL SPLIT RAMUS OSTEOTOMY (하악지 시상분할 절단술 후 감각 변화에 관한 연구)

  • The bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy (BSSRO) is preferred method of surgical correction for mandibular prognathism, retrognathism and asymmetry. This technique performed from primarily an intraoral incision to avoid a scar. After forward movement of the distal segment of the mandible, healing of bone by primary or secondary intention is easily accomplished through large areas of cancellous bony overlap. When rigid fixation is used for the BSSRO, it is possible to open the mouth during the immediate post-operative period because it promotes the healing process. Although this surgical procedure has been well-documented, the incidence of postoperative trigeminal neurosensory disorder in the region of the inferior alveolar nerve and the mental nerve remains one of the major complication. However, evaluation of objective methods for sensory recovery patterns is insufficient although most patients find their sensory return. Neurometer electrodiagnostic device performs automated neuroselective sensory nerve conduction threshold evaluation by determining current perception threshold (CPT) measures. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the sensory recovery patterns of inferior alveolar and mental nerve over time. Nerve examination with a neurometer was performed in 30 patients undergoing the BSSRO at pre-operative, post-operative 1-, 2-, 4- week, and 2-, 3-, 4-, 5-, 6- month follow-up visits after the osteotomy to compare the differences of nerve injury and recovery patterns after the BSSRO with or without genioplasty and sensory recovery patterns associated with the kind of nerve fiber.

  • It was proven that rice straw can serve can serve as a good support medium for trickling filter with livestock wastewater treatment. The efficiency of removal of removal of environmentally undesirable components from the wastewater by the straw medium was no less inferior to other commonly used support materials. The treated straw was also proven to be a source of abundant plant nutrients. The growth of orchard grass was enhanced greatly by the application of large quantity of the support medium. A maximum yield of dry matter was obtained at the rate of 40 ton/ha. Inorganic NPK elements as background fertilizers were highly recommended for better development in an early stage of growth. The nutritional status of the soil was very much improved by the addition of the medium in terms of exchangeable cations(K, Ca, Mg and Na), available phosphate, and organic matter contents. Nutrient uptake by orchard grass such as N, P and cations was enhanced by rice straw medium treatment and that was proportional to the levels of treatment.

Inhibition Effect against the Rat Blood Plasma Oxidation of the $Makgeolli$ ($Takju$) Korean Rice Wine (막걸리(탁주)의 쥐 혈장 과산화물 생성 억제효과)

  • The antioxidant activities of $makgeolli$ and other alcoholic beverages were compared. Based on the same volume (70 ${\mu}L$ eq.) of the alcoholic beverages, the 2,2'-azinobis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid ammonium salt) (ABTS+) radical-scavenging activities were as follows: whisky > $makgeolli$ crude extract (MCE) > rice wine (RW) > clarified $makgeolli$ (CM) > soju. Based on the same alcohol concentration (6%) of the alcoholic beverages, however, $makgeolli$ showed the highest activity. In addition, based on the same volume (70 ${\mu}L$ eq.), the inhibition effects against the formation of cholesteryl ester hydroperoxide (CE-OOH) were as follows: soju > whisky > RW > MCE > CM. Based on the same alcohol concentration (6%), however, the inhibition effects against the formation of CE-OOH were as follows: RW > MCE > soju > whisky > CM. Therefore, it was suggested that $makgeolli$ may contain radical-scavenging- and metal-ion-chelate-type antioxidants and may increase the antioxidant activity in the blood.

Flow Resistance of Model Cage Net (모형 우리 그물의 유수저항)

  • In order to develop the method for the calculation of flow resistance acting on cage net, the relation between the velocity reduction factor and $S_n/S$, the ratio of total area of netting projected to the perpendicular to the water flow $S_n$ to wall area of netting S, was derived based on the numerical and experimental analysis of the wake flow through a netting twine simplified by a cylinder and a netting panel. The velocity was reduced in accordance with the velocity reduction factor when the flow passed the netting panel upstream of a cage net. The proposed method for the calculation of fluid force acting on a square cage net was based upon the assumption that it could be divided into four side panels and one bottom panel. It was proved that the force could be calculated by the sum of the drag forces acting on the individual netting panels.

Effects of Light and Water Soluble Proteins on the Lipid Oxidation of Meat Emulsion Model System during Refrigerated Storage (광 조사 및 차단 조건에서의 고기모형 유화물의 지방산화에 미치는 수용성 단백질의 효과)

  • Meat model emulsions ware prepared with salt-soluble protein and soybean oil. Effects of water-soluble protein (WSP) on the meat model emulsion treated with/without BHT during 8 day storage $5^{\circ}C$ under both dark and light illumination were studied by measuring POV and TBA. An emulsion without BHA and WSP was used as a control. Under light storage, there was no significant difference in peroxide values between the control and the sample treated with BHA except the 2nd day of storage. However, TBA values of the sample treated with BHA were significantly (p<0.05) lower than those of control except the 4th day of storage. TBA and POV of the samples treated with WSP and WSP + BHA were higher than control after 4th day of storage under light. That is, water soluble protein, which was composed mainly of myoglobin, increased lipid oxidation under light storage. The similar trends were also shown in the samples stored under dark. These results suggested that acceleration of lipid oxidation of the meat model emulsions by water soluble protein (WSP) under both light and dark might not be due to the singlet oxygen formation, but due to superoxide anion formed.

  • This experiment is a quantitative experiment where insoluble Vitamins E and K are extracted from the yolk of the spawning which was fed by by-products of tangerine, carrot, or Japanese apricot. Finally the purpose is to raise contents of the insoluble Vitamins E and K inside the yolk of the spawning. The saponification method through ${\alpha}$, ${\alpha}$ - dipyridyl was used to determine the content of Vitamin E. Diethyl dithiocarbamate assay was used to examine the content of Vitamin K. The contents of Vitamin E in egg yolks of chicken fed by by-products of tangerine, carrot, or Japanese apricot increased 2 - 3 times compared to control egg, while the contents of Vitamin K almost no changed.

Eine verfassungsrechtliche Rechtfertigungspr$\ddot{u}$fung von der Preisbekanntmachung der Individuellen Gesundheitsleistung (비급여진료비용 공개에 관한 헌법적 정당성 고찰)

  • Obwohl die Preisbekanntmachung der individuellen Gesundheitsleistung(PiG), die im Jahr 2010 im Arztrecht neu eingef$\ddot{u}$hrt wird, zum Management der Gesundheitskosten sehr n$\ddot{u}$tzig werden soll, muss eine verfassungsrechtliche Rechtfertigungspr$\ddot{u}$fung von PiG zun$\ddot{a}$chst durchgef$\ddot{u}$hrt werden. Angesichts der staatlichen Regulierung und Lenkung auf die Wirtschaft des Art. 119 Abs. 2 KV besitzt die PiG zun$\ddot{a}$chst eine Verfassungsrechtfertigung. Nach der st$\ddot{a}$ndigen Rechtsprechung des koreanischen Verfassungsgerichts folgt das Selbstbestimmungsrecht der Verbraucher aus der Menschenw$\ddot{u}$rde von Art. 10 Abs. 1 Koreanische Verfassung(KV) und dem Recht auf Gl$\ddot{u}$ck von Art. 10 Abs. 2 KV. Demnach k$\ddot{o}$nnen Konsumenten den Einkauf der G$\ddot{u}$ter und Service, die Partei des Vertrags, Gesch$\ddot{a}$ftsbedingungen, usw. frei entscheiden. Indem der Preis der individuellen Gesundheitsleistung mithin bekanntgemacht wird, werden das Selbstbestimmungsrecht der Verbraucher sowie das Recht der Konsumenten sicherlich gew$\ddot{a}$hrleistet. Dar$\ddot{u}$ber hinaus steht die PiG im Einklang mit dem Recht auf Information, aber auch z$\ddot{a}$hlt sie nicht zu den Informationen der Nichtbekanntmachung vom Gesetz $\ddot{u}$ber die Bekanntmachung der Information(GBI). Nach der staatlichen Gesundheitspflicht des Art. 36 Abs. 3 KV kann die PiG eine Verfassungslegitim$\ddot{a}$t besitzen. Im Hinblick auf die Berufsfreiheit kann die PiG einen Eingriff in den Gesch$\ddot{a}$ftsaktivit$\ddot{a}$ten der Unternehmen bedeuten. Trotzdem ist die PiG als eine verfassungsrechtliche Legitimit$\ddot{a}$t zu qualifizieren. In der Konsequenz kann die PiG, die auf dem Selbstbestimmungsrecht, dem Recht auf Information, dem Gesundheitsrecht, der Regulierung und Lenkung auf die Wirtschaft von Art. 119 Abs. 2 KV, und dem Recht der Verbraucher beruht, als eine verfassungm${\ddot{a}}{\ss}$ige Politik gesch$\ddot{a}$tzt werden.
