Infrared Multiphoton Dissociation of $CHCl_2F$: Reaction Mechanisms and Product Ratio Dependence on Pressure and Laser Pulse Energy

  • Infrared multiphoton dissociation of $CHCl_2F$ was studied using $CO_2$ laser excitation. Three products, $C_2Cl_2F_2$, $C_2ClF_3$, and $C_2HClF_2$, were identified by the analysis of the gas mixture from the photoreaction of $CHCl_2F$. The dependence of the reaction probability on added Ar gas pressure and excitation laser pulse energy was investigated. At low pressure (< 10 torr), the reaction probability increased as Ar pressure increased due to the rotational hole-filling effect, while it diminished with the increase of Ar pressure at high pressure (> > 20 torr) due to the collisional deactivation. The ratio of two products $(C_2ClF_3/C_2Cl_2F_2)$ decreased at low pressure (< 10 torr) and increased at high pressure (> 20 torr) with the increase of Ar pressure. The log-log plot of the reaction probability vs. laser pulse energy (${\\phi}$) was found to have a linear relationship, and its slope decreased as the added Ar pressure was increased. The reaction mechanisms for product formation have been suggested and validated by experimental evidences and considering the energetics. Fluorine-chlorine exchange reaction in the intermediate complex has been suggested to explain the formation of $C_2ClF_3$.

단백질 가수분해 효소 및 염산에 의한 녹용 각질의 추출 (Extraction of Freeze Dried Young Antler Residue by Proteases and HCl)

  • 녹용각질을 protease와 염산으로 가용화시킬 수 있는 최적 조건을 조사하였다. 녹용을 5$0^{\circ}C$에서 물로 추출하고 난 각질에 세균 protease를 가하여 5$0^{\circ}C$에서 5시간 추출한 것은 32.8%(흡광도 3.61), 파파인 추출액은 23.8%(흡광도 0.94), 펜신 추출액은 31.2%(흡광도 2.96)가 녹았다. 녹용을 끓여서 추출하고 남은 각질에 세균 protease를 가하여 5$0^{\circ}C$에서 5시간 반응시킨 것은 45.0%(흡광도 3.61), 파파인 추출액은 30.4%(흡광도 0.33), 펜신 추출액은 51.2%(홉광도 2.77)가 녹았다. HPLC로 분석한 결과, 저온 물추출 각질과 열수 추출각질은 protease에 의하여 모두 분자량 1,000 이하의 펩티드로 작아졌다. 녹용 각질에 염산을 가하여 5$0^{\circ}C$에서 5시간 반응시킨 결과, 염산 0.1N농도에서 45%(흡광도 0.78), 0.2N에서 61%(흡광도 1.82), 0.4N에서는 81.0%(흡광도 2.29), 2.0N에서 82.0%(흡광도 3.28) 녹았다. HPLC로 분석한 결과, 0.8N 염산으로 추출한 것은 분자량 7만 정도의 피크가 58%였다. 녹용을 0.8N 염산으로 추출하여 동결 건조한 분말의 단백질 함량은 8.2%, 아미노산 함량은 81.6%, 회분 함량은 1.3%를 나타냈고, 무기물 함량은 Ca 0.1%, P 2.3%, Mg 0.8%, Na 3,4%, F 0,02%를 나타냈다. 녹용각질 가용화의 최적조건은 세균 pretense를 작용시켜서 5$0^{\circ}C$에서 5시간 반응시킨 다음, 0.8N 염산으로 5시간 추출하는 것이었다.

Modeling the electric transport of HCl and H3PO4 mixture through anion-exchange membranes

  • The electric transport of the mixture of hydrochloric and phosphoric acids through strong base (Neosepta ACM) and weak base (Selemion AAV) anion-exchange membranes was investigated. The instantaneous efficiency of HCl removal from the cathode solution, $CE_{Cl}$, with and without $H_3PO_4$ was determined. It was found that $CE_{Cl}$ was 0.8-0.9 if the number of moles of elementary charge passed through the system, $n_F$, did not exceed ca. 80% of the initial number of HCl moles in the cathode solution, $n_{Cl,ca,0}$. The retention efficiency of $H_3PO_4$ in that range was close to one. The transport of acid mixtures was satisfactorily described by a model based on the extended Nernst-Planck and Donnan equations for $n_F$ not exceeding $n_{Cl,ca,0}$. Among the tested model parameters, most important were: concentration of fixed charges, the porosity-tortuosity coefficient, and the partition coefficient of an undissociated form of $H_3PO_4$. For the both membranes, the obtained optimal values of fixed charge concentration, $\bar{c}_m$, were up to 40% lower than the literature values of $\bar{c}_m$ obtained from the equilibrium measurements. Regarding the $H_3PO_4$ equilibria, it was sufficient to consider $H_3PO_4$ as a monoprotic acid.

Comparison of Synthetic Lysine Sources on Growth Performance, Nutrient Digestibility and Nitrogen Retention in Weaning Pigs

  • We compared the effects of supplementing $L-lysine{\cdot}SO_4$ to L-lysine HCl on growth performance, nutrient digestibility and nitrogen retention in weaning pigs. A total of 96 crossbred pigs, weaned at $21{\pm}3$ days of age and with an average initial body weight (BW) $6.23{\pm}0.01kg$, were given one of 4 treatments, which translated into 6 replicates of 4 pigs in each pen. The animals were randomly assigned to four dietary treatments according to a randomized completely block design (RCBD) as follows: 1) control-no synthetic lysine, lysine deficient (0.80% total lysine); 2) L-C (= 0.2% L-lysine HCl); 3) K-L-S (= 0.332% $L-lysine{\cdot}SO_4$, A company); 4) C-L-S (= 0.332% $L-lysine{\cdot}SO_4$, B company). Diets were formulated with corn, soy bean meal, and corn gluten meal as the major ingredients, and all nutrients except the lysine met or exceeded NRC requirements (1998). The lysine content of supplemented synthetic lysine was the same in all treatment groups except the control. No clinical health problems associated with the dietary treatments were observed. During the entire experimental period, body weight, average daily gain (ADG) and feed efficiency (G:F ratio) increased (p<0.01) in pigs fed the experimental diets supplemented with L-lysine??HCl or $L-lysine{\cdot}SO_4$ produced by A company, irrespective of the two synthetic lysine sources. Although the supplementation of $L-lysine{\cdot}SO_4$ produced by B company tended to improve the ADG and G:F ratio, significant differences were not seen among all treatments and tended to be lower than the L-C (L-lysine HCl) and K-L-S ($L-lysine{\cdot}SO_4$ groups using the product from A company). The digestibility of crude protein (CP) was increased by the supplementation of synthetic lysine (p<0.05), irrespective of the L-lysine source (L-C, K-L-S, C-L-S). The results of this study showed that ADG, G:F ratio, and CP digestibility improved when $L-lysine{\cdot}SO_4$ or L-lysine HCl was supplemented into the weaning pigs' diet. There was a clear difference in efficacy between the two $lysine{\cdot}SO_4$ products based upon the growth performance of weaning pigs. Consequently, the bioavailability of $lysine{\cdot}SO_4$ products should be evaluated before supplementation of synthetic lysine in swine diets.

  • 본 연구는 임피던스 파라미터(전기이중층 내의 미분용량 $C_d$, 용핵저향 $R_Q$, 전하이동저항 $R_t$,및 흡착유사용량 $C{\phi}$)를 결정하기 위해 정확한 측정식을 얻는데 주력하낟. 정현파가 정상상태에 있을 때 복소수함수 ${\omega}$중의 허수부분만을 으용하여 구한 전체임피던스식은 낮은 주파수에서 $|Z_{LF}|=1/{\omega}_{1C\phi}{\sqrt{1+{{\omega}_1}^2/{\omega}^2}$에, 높은 주파수에서는 $|Z_{HF}|={\omega}_2/({\omega}_1{\omega}_3C{\phi})({\omega}^2+{{\omega}_2}^2){\sqrt{{({\omega}^2+{\omega}_2{\omega}_3)}^2+{({\omega}_2{\omega}-{\omega_3{\omega})^2}}$에 따름을 나타낸다. 이들 임피던스 파라미터의 계산에 필요한 전체임피던수, 위상각 및 쎌전류값을 .5M $NA_2SO_4$ 또는 1M NaCl, 19.373% 해수, 1M HCl, 1M $KNO_3$ 지지전해질과 이들의 지지전해질내에 각각 $10^{-2}M Kl$ 또는 6mM DBNA를 첨가하여 20~60Hz 범위에서 실험적으로 측정하였다. 본 연구에서 유도한 식은 임피던스 파라미터 $C_d,\;C_{\phi},\;R_t$$R_Q$의 값들이 각각 $15{\sim}4{\mu}F/cm^2,\;162{\sim}758{\mu}F/cm^2,\;11.5{\sim}57.6ohm{\cdot}cm^2$$0.5{\times}10^{-2}{\sim}4.1{\sim}10^{-2}\;ohm{\cdot}cm^2$임을 보여준다.

  • The crystal structure of eprazinone dihydrochloride, $C_{24}H_{32}N_2O_2$${\cdot}$2HCl, has been determined from 2102 independent reflections collected on an automated Nonious CAD-4 diffractometer using graphite-monochromated $Mo-K\alpha$ radiation. The crystals are monoclinic, space group P$2_1$/n, with unit cell dimensions a=11.381(2), b=28.318(2), c=7.840(1) $\AA$, $\beta=92.45(2)^{\circ}$, ${\mu}=2.37$ c$m^{-1}$, F(000)=968, and Z=4. Final R value is 0.071 for independent 2102 observed reflections. The molecule assumes an extended conformation. The piperazine ring has a normal chair conformation and the four carbon atom are planar with a maximum displacement of 0.004 $\AA$ for C(18) atom. The two chloride ions are hydrogen bonded to the two piperazine nitrogen atoms [N(14)${\cdot}{\cdot}{\cdot}$Cl(1); 2.986(6) $\AA$ N(17)…Cl(2); 3.084(8) $\AA$].

  • The crystals of bromhexine-HCl, $C_{14}$ H$_{21}$ N$_{2}$Br$_{2}$Cl, are orthohombic, space group Pca2 with a = 14.598(2)A, b=12.461(3)A, c =9 9.186(1) A and Z = 4. Intensity dat for 967 reflections (Fobs > 6.sigma.(F)) were collected on a Rigaku-Denki automatic four circle diffractometer. The structure was solved by the Patterson and Fourier methods. Refinements were carried out to the final R value of 0.082. The cyclohexane ring has a normal chair form and the benzene ring is planar. There are three independenet hydrogen bounds in the structure. One is an intermolecular hydrogen bond (N-H... Cl) and the others are intramolecular hydrogen bonds (N-H...Br, N$^{+}$-H...Cl$^{[-10]}$ ) Apart from the hydrogen bounding system the molecules are held together in the crystal by van der Waals force.e.

Quantum Mechanical Study of the O(1D) + HCl → OH + Cl Reaction

  • Quantum mechanical calculation is performed for the $O(^1D)$ + HCl ${\rightarrow}$OH + Cl reaction using Reactive Infinite Order Sudden Approximation. Shifting approximation is also employed for the l ${\neq}$ 0 partial wave contributions. Various dynamical quantities are calculated and compared with available experimental results and quasiclassical trajectory results. Vibrational distributions agree well with experimental results i.e. product states mostly populated at $v_f$ = 3, 4. Our results also show small peak at $v_f$ = 0, which indicates bimodal vibrational distribution. The results show two significant broad peaks in ${\gamma}_i$ dependence of the cross section, one is at ${\gamma}_i$ = $15^{\circ}-35^{\circ}$ and the another is at ${\gamma}_i$= $55^{\circ}-75^{\circ}$ which can be explained as steric effects. At smaller gi, the distribution is peaked only at higher state ($v_f$ = 3, 4) while at the larger gi, both lower state ($v_f$ = 0) and higher state ($v_f$ = 3, 4) are significantly populated. Such two competing contributions (smaller and larger ${\gamma}_i$) result in the bimodal distribution. From these points we suggest two mechanisms underlying in current reaction system: one is that reaction occurs in a direct way, while the another is that reaction occurs in a indirect way.

Glucosamine Hydrochloride and N-Acetylglucosamine Influence the Response of Bovine Chondrocytes to TGF-β3 and IGF in Monolayer and Three-Dimensional Tissue Culture

  • BACKGROUND: Glucosamine hydrochloride (GlcN HCl) has been shown to inhibit cell growth and matrix synthesis, but not with N-acetyl-glucosamine (GlcNAc) supplementation. This effect might be related to an inhibition of critical growth factors (GF), or to a different metabolization of the two glucosamine derivatives. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the synergy between GlcN HCl, GlcNAc, and GF on proliferation and cartilage matrix synthesis. METHOD: Bovine chondrocytes were cultivated in monolayers for 48 h and in three-dimensional (3D) chitosan scaffolds for 30 days in perfusion bioreactors. Serum-free (SF) medium was supplemented with either growth factors (GF) $TGF-{\beta}$ ($5ng\;mL^{-1}$) and IGF-I ($10ng\;mL^{-1}$), GlcN HCl or GlcNAc at 1mM each or both. Six groups were compared according to medium supplementation: (a) SF control; (b) SF + GlcN HCl; (c) SF + GlcNAc; (d) SF + GF; (e) SF + GF + GlcN HCl; and (f) SF + GF + GlcNAc. Cell proliferation, proteoglycan, collagen I (COL1), and collagen II (COL2) synthesis were evaluated. RESULTS: The two glucosamines showed opposite effects in monolayer culture: GlcN HCl significantly reduced proliferation and GlcNAc significantly augmented cellular metabolism. In the 30 days 3D culture, the GlcN HCl added to GF stimulated cell proliferation more than when compared to GF only, but the proteoglycan synthesis was smaller than GF. However, GlcNAc added to GF improved the cell proliferation and proteoglycan synthesis more than when compared to GF and GF/GlcN HCl. The synthesis of COL1 and COL2 was observed in all groups containing GF. CONCLUSION: GlcN HCl and GlcNAc increased cell growth and stimulated COL2 synthesis in long-time 3D culture. However, only GlcNAc added to GF improved proteoglycan synthesis.

남해-화개지역 1차 수계 하상퇴적토의 환경유해원소 분산특성 (Dispersion Characteristics of Hazardous Elements for the Stream Sediments of Primary Channels in the Namhae-Hwngye area)

  • 남해-화개지역 하상퇴적토 환경유해원소들의 분산특성 및 환경유해성을 알아보고, 지구화학적 재해에 대해 예견하고자 한다. 하상퇴적토는 오염의 우려가 없고, 집수분지를 대표할 수 있는 시료를 채취하였다. XRD, XRF, ICP-AES, NAA를 이용하여 주성분원소 및 환경유해원소를 분석하였다. 산분해법은 1차로 $HClO_4$와 HF를 혼합하여 $200^{\circ}C$에서 분해시킨 후,2차로 $HClO_4$, HF, HCl를 혼합한 후 $200^{\circ}C$에서 분해시켜 이를 1% $HNO_3$ 용액으로 만들었다. 남해지역 환경유해원소의 함량은 Cu $5.66{\sim}168\;ppm$, Pb $18.0{\sim}40.7\;ppm$, Cr $21.6{\sim}147\;ppm$, Co $4.86{\sim}25.3\;ppm$ 범위이고, 화개지역에서는 Cu $16.4{\sim}41.2\;ppm$, Pb $26.5{\sim}37.5\;ppm$, Cr $79.6{\sim}153\;ppm$, Co $15.7{\sim}29.5\;ppm$ 범위를 보였다. 상관 분석에서는 하상퇴적토의 $SiO_2$ 함량이 높아질수록 구리(Cu)와 코발트(Co)의 함량이 감소하는 특징을 보였다. 연구지역의 E.I.는 비부화 되어 있으며, 평균값은 남해지역 0.35와 화개지역 0.56이였다. 조사대상 하상퇴적토들은 납 > 크롬 > 코발트 > 구리 순으로 부화되어 있으며, E.F.의 평균값은 $0.46{\sim}2.84$이다. E.F값은 구리와 코발트에서 거의 비슷한 부화특성을 보이나, 크롬에서는 남해지역보다 화개지역에서 보다 큰 부화특성을 보인다. 납은 연구지역 모두에서 상당히 부화되어 있었지만, 토양 및 퇴적물의 환경오염 허용 한계치(tolerable level)을 이용하여 살펴본 결과에서는 환경유해원소의 오염에 특별히 노출되지 않는 것으로 판단된다.
