The purpose of this study was to compare the microtensile bond strength in Class I cavities associated with different light curing modes of same light energy density. Occlusal enamel was removed to expose a flat dentin surface and twenty box-shaped Class I cavities were prepared in dentin. Single Bond (3M Dental product) was applied and Z 250 was inserted using bulk technique. The composite was light-cured using one of four techniques, pulse delay (PD group), soft-start (SS group), pulse cure (PC group) and standard continuous cure (CC group). The light-curing unit capable of adjusting time and intensity (VIP, Bisco Dental product) was selected and the light energy density for all curing modes was fixed at $16J/cm^2$. After storage for 24 hours, specimens were sectioned into beams with a rectangular cross-sectional area of approximately $1mm^2$ Microtensile bond strength $({\mu}TBS)$ test was per- formed using a univel·sal testing machine (EZ Test, Shimadzu Co.). The results were analyzed using oneway ANOVA and Tukey's test at significance level 0.05. The ${\mu}TBS$ of PD group and SS group was higher than that of PC group and CC group. Within the limitations of this in vitro study, modification of curing modes such as pulse delay and soft start polymerization can improve resin/dentin bond strength in Class I cavities by controlling polymerization velocity of composite resin.
Objectives: This study investigated the effects of the color components of light-cured composite resin before and after polymerization on degree of conversion (DC) and biaxial flexural strength (FS). Materials and Methods: Four enamel shades (A1, A2, A3, A4) and two dentin shades (A2O, A3O) of Premisa (Kerr Co.) and Denfil (Vericom Co.) were evaluated on their CIE $L^*,\;a^*,\;b^*$ color components using the spectrophotometer before curing, after curing and at 7 day. The DC of same specimens were measured with Near-infrared spectrometer (Nexus, Thermo Nicolet Co.) at 2 hr after cure and at 7 day. Finally, the FS was obtained after all the other measurements were completed at 7 day. The correlations between each color component and DC and FS were evaluated. Results: The light-curing of composite resin resulted in color changes of Premisa in red-blue direction and Denfil in green-blue direction. The DC and FS were affected by product, time and shade (3-way ANOVA, p < 0.05) and product and shade (2-way ANOVA, p < 0.05), respectively. Premisa only showed a significant correlation between the DC and CIE $a^*$ component - before and after polymerization (Pearson product moment correlation, p < 0.05). The FS of Premisa showed significant negative correlations with CIE $a^*$ and CIE $b^*$ components. Conclusions: The DC and FS of the light-curing composite resin were affected by the color components of the material before and after polymerization.

Barrier ribs for PDP(plasma display panel) are commonly utilized to have uniform height and width and to prevent opical crosstalk between adjacent cells. The requirements for such barrier ribs are uniform height and shape, low outgassing rate and low porosity, high aspect ratio, and fine resolution. In this study, we are studied about that to make efficiency of material and high quality barrier ribs for PDP. As a result, could got high barrier ribs of $140{\mu}m$ evenly in 1th phenomenon using watersoluble UV curing resin and know that flatness of upper part is also very good.

Several dual-curable acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSA) were synthesized by the radical polymerization of acrylic monomers containing benzophenone, hydroxyl, and alkyl groups. The optimum extent of UV-induced cure was determined by varying the content of the benzophenone groups (the photoinitiator) from 0.5 to 1.5 wt%. The weight average molecular weight of the polymers obtained ranged from 300,000 to 700,000 amu. The coated pressure-sensitive adhesives were cured either by short UV exposure to induce the grafting of acrylic polymers, or by heating for 6 hat $60^{\circ}C$ to promote the reactions between the polyisocyanates and hydroxyl groups. The dual-curing behavior was determined by monitoring both processes quantitatively by infrared spectroscopy. The developed dual-curable acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives were found to compensate for the limitations in UV-induced curing of thick coatings.
In this study, performance of hardening accelerator types which promote setting and hardening of cement has been reviewed in order to develop early age strength of concrete with compressive strength of 21~27 MPa after examination of strength development of the concrete at early age according to curing temperature and unit cement(binder) content. As results, soluble mineral salt showed better hardening acceleration effect than organic salt in the scope of this study. Also, hydration reaction accelerating effect of $C_3S$ by Soluble mineral salt is effective on development of early age compressive strength and it was shown that the Pt's hydration reaction accelerating effect was the best. Construction duration reduction can be expected by securing compressive strength for prevention of early aged freezing damage in 25hour-curing time under curing temperature at $15^{\circ}C$. Also, it was shown that compressive strength of specimen cured at $5^{\circ}C$ was similar with plain specimen cured at $10^{\circ}C$. Therefore, it is expected that fuel costs and carbon dioxide can be reduced when the same construction duration is considered.
The main mineral phases of natural hydraulic lime (NHL) as a hydraulic lime binderare $Ca(OH)_2$, $C_2S$, $C_3S$, $C_3A$, and $SiO_2$ residues. Also, NHL has the characteristic of setting and hardening by a hydration reaction with water and by carbonation reactions with carbon dioxide from the air. In this study, in an effort to investigate changes of the mineral phases by NHL hydration and carbonation reactions, transitions of mineral phases and the microstructures of hardened pastes were analyzed by XRD, DSC, SEM, and by pore size distributions using domestic and foreign-sourced NHL pastes after curing at 1, 3, 7, and 28 days. On the basis of the analysis results, it was confirmed that domestic low-grade limestone can be used for the manufacturing of NHL. The main hydration mineral phases were $Ca(OH)_2$, $CaCO_3$, $C_2S$, and $SiO_2$ residues, while in the case of foreign-sourced NHL, a small amount of an aluminium hydration phase formed. Also, the $CaCO_3$ content after the carbonation reaction increased with an increase in the curing time. After hydration for 28 days, NHL containing considerable amounts of $C_2S$ and $C_3S$ showed higher carbonation ratios than others types.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the compensation effect of exposure duration increase to decreased light intensity of visible-light curing unit. The specimen with 2mm thickness was made of Restorative $Z-100^{TM}$ (A2 shade, 3M Dental Products, U.S.A.) and cured with $Optilux^{TM}$ (Demetron Research Co. U.S.A.). The light intensity was controlled to 420 $mW/cm^2$, 540 $mW/cm^2$, 630 $mW/cm^2$ and curing time, also, controlled to 40, 60, 80 seconds. Cured specimen was stored in a light-proof container for 24 hours to post-irradation was completed. Microhardness of top and bottom surface of specimen were measured to evaluate the depth of cure. The obtained results were as follows: 1. The microhardness of top and bottom surface of the composite resin specimen was increased significantly as light intensity and exposure time was increased (P<0.01). 2. Light intensity was more correlated with bottom microhardness(${\gamma}{\geq}$0.438) than top microhardness(${\gamma}{\geq}$0.213), and exposure time was more correlated with top microhardness (${\gamma}{\geq}$0.424) than bottom microhardness(${\gamma}{\geq}$0.335). 3. The regressive equation was obtained in this study as follows : $H=0.07{\times}D+0.012{\times}I+76$ (H : Microhardness(KHN), D : Exposure time, I : Light intensity)

This study was conducted to investigate most effective the optimum lime content for lime-clay modification. To achieve the aim, characteristics of compaction and compressive strength were tested by adding of 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20% lime (Hydrated lime) of dry weight of the clay. Distilled water was added 10, 15, 20 and 25% of dry weight of lime-clay mixture. In this test, the compressive strength of the specimens was measured according to the following curing period : 7, 21, 28, 35 and 49 days. The results are as follows. (1) As lime additive increased, the optimum moisture content of lime-clay mixture was increased and the maximum dry density was decreased. (2) The soil mixture of 20% of the moisture content and 10% of lime additive was shown the maximum compressive strength. (3) As curing period longer, the compressive strength was increased but after 21 curing days, the increasing rate of compressive strength was low as compared with earlier its value. (4) In the range of 20% of the moisture content, compressive strength of mixture of 10% lime additive increased twice compared with that of mixture of 0% lime additive. (5) All of the lime-clay are possible to use for an sub-base material and 20% of moisture content of lime-clay mixture is possible to use for a base material.

PURPOSES : To investigate the fundamental characteristics of blast-furnace slag mortar that was hardened with activating chemicals to capture and sequester carbon dioxide. METHODS : Various mix proportions were considered to find an appropriate stregnth development in regards with various dosages of activating chemicals, calcium hydroxides and sodium silicates, and curing conditions, air-dried, wet and underwater conditions. Flow characteristics was investigated and setting time of the mortar was measured. At different ages of 3, 7 and 28days, strength development was investigated for all the mix variables. At each age, samples were analyzed with XRD. RESULTS : The measured flow values showed the mortar lost its flowability as the activating chemicals amount increased in the scale of mole concentration. The setting time of the mortar was relatively shorter than OPC mortar but the initial curing condition was important, such as temperature. The amount of activating chemicals was found not to be critical in the sense of setting time. The strength increased with the increased amount of chemicals. The XRD analysis results showed that portlandite peaks reduced and clacite increased as the age increased. This may mean the $Ca(OH)_2$ keeps absorbing $CO_2$ in the air during curing period. CONCLUSIONS : The carbon capturing and sequestering activated blast-furnace slag mortar showed successful strength gain to be used for road system materials and its carbon absorbing property was verified though XRD analysis.

In this study, we investigated the adhesive strength by molecular weight, mixture ratio, coating thickness, lamination temperature and aging condition of adhesive in manufacture process of Nylon-Aluminum for secondary aluminum pouch. It found that as the molecular weight of adhesive gets lower, the adhesive strength increases. In the mixture ratio, as the content of hardener get higher and as the content of solvent get lower, the adhesive strength increases. Also, as the coating thickness of adhesive get thicker, the adhesive strength increase. In addition, the adhesive strength is higher at 90 degrees of lamination temperature. So, it found that 90 degrees of lamination temperature is appropriate. In the aging condition when aged for 5 days, it found that the reaction and curing of adhesive is sufficient by measuring the adhesive strength.
