Effect of Adding Al-Ca Fluoride on Sintering Behavior of Aluminum-Bronze Powder

  • In order to accelerate the sintering of Al-Bronze powder covered with passive oxide film, we focused on the way to add Al-Ca fluoride consisting of $AlF_3$ and $CaF_2$, examined the effect of the $CaF_2$ mixing rate in Al-Ca fluoride, the amount of the added Al-Ca fluoride and the sintering temperature on sintering properties of Al-Bronze powder and considered the mechanism of the sintering acceleration. Al-Bronze powder was sintered most effectively by adding Al-Ca fluoride with the $CaF_2$ mixing rate of 20mass%. If the amount of added fluoride was over 0.05mass% and the sintering temperature was over 1123K, the sintering acceleration of the Al-Bronze powder appears. Regarding the mechanism of the sintering acceleration, it was presumed that $Al_2O_3$ film on the surface of the Al-Bronze particles was removed in the process of the formation of gaseous AlOF by the reaction with $AlF_3$, and the reaction was accelerated further by the presence of the liquid phase which is formed in Al-Ca fluoride.

용융아연 도금욕중 Al농도 센서의 기준전극에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Reference Electrode for Al Concentration Sensor in Zinc Galvanizing Melt)

  • In order to get basic information on the reference electrode material for the long life Al concentration sensor in zinc galvanizing melt, the workability and stability of fluorine potential cell with $CaF_2$ single crystal electrolyte were examined carefully at constant temperature for six kinds of reference materials (Zn, Sn, Cd, Bi, Pb, Al-Sn alloy + fluorides). Good workability and stability of the sensor were found in sensor with $Bi+BiF_3$ reference electrode. The Al sensor with $Bi+BiF_3$ reference electrode was assembled and was tested in Zn-Al melt with different Al concentration. The EMF was changed rapidly with the change of Al concentration and was stabilized in a short time. Thus the response of EMF was satisfactory for $CaF_2$ sensor. The correlationship between EMF from the sensor and logarithm of Al concentration has been derived from the least square regression method. E/mV=57.515log[wt% Al]+1883.3 R=0.9717 ($0.013{\leq}[wt% Al]{\leq}0.984$) The EMF from Al sensor was increased linearly against logarithm of [wt% Al]. The fluorine potential of Zn-Al melt was also calculated to be in the range of $10^{-60}{\sim}10^{-61}$ Pa for the present experiemental condition.

  • $CF_4$ 플라즈마 분위기에서 반응성 이온식각된 알루미늄의 표면을 XPS 분석하였다. 알루미늄의 표면에$AlF_3$가 형성되었으며 표면에서의 깊이가 깊어질수록 Al - F 결합에 의한 $Al_{2p}$ peak 강도가 감소하고 금속 알루미늄 결합에 의한 $Al_{2p}$ peak 강도가 증가하였다. 입자의 충돌에 의해서 표면원자들이 mixing 됨으로써 알루미늄의 표면에 50~100 $\AA$ 정도의 두께를 가진 $AlF_x$ 층이 형성되는 것으로 분석되었다. 같은 조건에서 반응성 이온식각된 알루미늄 산화막의 경우에는 mixing 효과가 알루미늄보다 작으므로 상대적으로 얕은 범위(10~20 $\AA$)에서 F가 O를 치환하여 $AlF_x$층이 형성되었다.

  • 용융아연 도금 강판 제조시 용융아연 도금 bath중의 알루미늄 농도를 조절하는 것은 매우 중요하다 본 연구의 목적은 용융아연 도금욕 중 알루미늄 농도를 신속하게 측정할 수 있는 센서 개발을 위한 기초 data를 제공하는 것이다. $CaF_2$고체전해질과 3가지 종류의 참조극을 사용하여 $460^{\circ}C\~500^{\circ}C$의 순수한 용융아연 bath에서 불소포텐샬을 측정하였다. 용융 아연 중 알루미늄의 농도를 측정하기 위하여 다음과 같은 불소 이온 농담전지 센서를 구성하였다. $$(-)W|Zn-Al,\;AlF_3|CaF_2|Bi,BiF_3|W(+)$$ 알루미늄의 농도가 $0.984wt\%$이하인 Zn-Al bath의 온도를 $460\pm10^{\circ}C$로 유지하고 상기의 알루미늄 농도 센서를 이용하여 기전력을 측정하였다. 측정된 기전력 값으로부터 최소 자승 회귀분석법을 이용하여, 다음과 같은 알루미늄 농도와 기전력과의 관계식을 얻었다. $$E/mV=56.795log[\%Al]+1881.7\;R=0.9704$$,$$0.026wt\%{\leq}[\%Al]{\leq}0.984wt\%$$

LiF/Al/LiF 구조를 적용한 OLED 소자의 발광 특성 (Emission Characteristics of OLEDs Using LiF/Al/LiF Structure)

  • We fabricated red and blue organic light emitting display (OLEDs) which had the two kinds of multi-structure of ITO/HIL/HTL/EML/ETL/LiF/Al and ITO/HIL/HTL/EML/ETL/LiF/Al/LiF. In the case of red OLED that had LiF/Al/LiF structure compared to LiF/Al structure, the current density increased from 4.3 mA/$cm^2$ to 7.3 mA/$cm^2$, and the brightness increased from 488 cd/$m^2$ to 1,023 cd/$m^2$ at 7.0 V, and as a result the current efficiency was improved from 11.28 cd/A to 13.95 cd/A. Also in the case of blue OLED that had LiF on Al cathode layer, the current density increased from 1.2 mA/$cm^2$ to 1.8 mA/$cm^2$, and the brightness increased from 45 cd/$m^2$ to 85 cd/$m^2$ at 7.0 V, and as a result the current efficiency was improved from 3.69 cd/A to 4.82 cd/A. Through these experimental results it could be suggested that the LiF layer formed on Al prevents the oxidation of Al surface, and the electrode resistance become low with increase of supplied electrons, therefore the brightness and the efficiency are improved from the influence to the well-balanced bonding of electron and hole at emitting layer.

  • This paper has been studied on characteristics of organic light-emitting device with various cathode materials. These catode materials were Al:Li(5%), Al, Cu, CsF/Al. And in these devices, HTL(hole transfer layer) was TPD and EML(emitting layer) was Alq$\sub$3/. We studied the I-V characteristics for each device. And then, the turn-on voltage of device for Al-Li(5%), Al, Cu, CsF/Al cathode were 7, 9, 13, 3V respectively. So, the CsF/Al cathode is superior to other cathode materials for I-V characteristics.

  • The device characteristics and the interface electronic structures of organic light-emitting devices based on tris-(8-hydroxyquinoline)aluminum were investigated with $Al/CaF_2$, Al/LiF, and Al-only cathodes. Similar to the Al/LiF cathode, the $Al/CaF_2$ cathode greatly improved the performance of the device over Al-only cathode. However, a photoelectron spectroscopy study revealed that despite the performance improvement, the evolution of the new peaks during $Al/CaF_2$ cathode formation closely resembled those of the Al-only cathode rather than the Al/LiF cathode.

  • $ZnS/Na_3AlF_6$ multi-layer thin film were produced by evaporation system. ZnS were selected as a high refractive index material and $Na_3AlF_6$ were selected as low refractive index material. Optical properties including color effect were systematically studied in terms of different optical thickness by spectrophotometer. In oder to compare with experimental data, the Essential Macleod Program(EMP) was adopted that simulation program. The thin film consisting of $ZnS/Na_3AlF_6$ multi-layer show the wave length of $530{\sim}600nm$, typically color range between purple, blue, green. It was confirmed that this experimental result was well matched with simulation data.

Al(OH)3-SiO2-AlF3 조성으로 합성된 뮬라이트 휘스커의 특성평가 (Characterization of Mullite Whiskers Synthesized with Compostion of Al(OH)3-SiO2-AlF3)

  • Mullite whiskers were synthesized by a vapor-solid reaction with $Al(OH)_3-SiO_2-AlF_3$. The heat treatment temperature did not affect the shape of mullite whisker but the composition change resulted in different sizes. The first one was $30-50{\mu}m$ in size with the aspect ratio of 60 and above, and the second one was $600{\mu}m$ and below in size with the aspect ratio of 15 and below. The $Al_2O_3$ content in formed mullite whisker was 73.57-80.29 wt%, which is high $Al_2O_3$ content composition. The Young's modulus and the hardness measured by nano-indentation method were 136.7 GPa and 19.81 GPa, respectively.

폐 피복관 처리를 위한 염소계-불소계 혼합용융염 내 지르코늄 전해정련공정에서 삼불화알루미늄의 효과 연구 (Effect of AlF3 on Zr Electrorefining Process in Chloride-Fluoride Mixed Salts for the Treatment of Cladding Hull Wastes)

  • 삼불화알루미늄($AlF_3$)이 포함된 염화물-불화물 혼합 용융염에서 ZIRLO 튜브를 이용한 지르코늄 전해정련공정을 실증하였다. 순환 전압전류실험 결과, $AlF_3$의 농도가 증가함에 따라 금속환원의 개시 전위가 일정하게 증가하고 지르코늄-알루미늄 합금형성과 관련된 추가적인 peak의 크기가 점차 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 전류조절 전착법과 달리, -1.2 V의 일정전위에서 수행한 지르코늄 전해정련에서 방사형 판 구조의 지르코늄 성장이 염의 상단 표면에서 확연하게 나타났으며, 전착물 지름의 크기는 $AlF_3$의 농도에 따라 점차 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 주사전자현미경(SEM)과 에너지 분산 X선 분광기(EDX)와 X선 광전자 분광기(XPS)를 이용하여 판 구조의 지르코늄 전착물을 분석한 결과, 극미량의 알루미늄이 지르코늄-알루미늄 합금 형태로 존재하며, 전착물의 상단과 하단 간에 서로 다른 화학성분구조를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. $AlF_3$의 첨가는 전착물 내 잔류염 양을 줄이고, 지르코늄 회수를 위한 전류효율을 향상시키는 데 효과적인 것으로 나타났다.
