Pyrolytic Conversion of Blended Precursors into Ti-Al-N Ceramic Composites

  • Pyrolytic preparations of Ti-Al-N ceramics from three blended precursors were investigated. The precursors were prepared stirring ($HA1N^{i}Pr_m$ and an aminolysis product of $Ti(NMe_2)_4$ with $MeHNCH_2CH_2$NHMe in $C_6/H_6$ . IR and $^1H\;NMR $analyses suggested that essentially no Ti-N-Al bonds were present in the precursors. Pyrolysis of the precursors under $NH_3-N_2$led to the formation of brown solids with ceramic yields of about 30%, and the Ti-Al ratios in the pyrolyzed products were close to those of the precursors. XRD analysis of the pyrolyzed product from the precursor with Ti:Al=5:1 indicated the formation of a NaCl-type compound as the only crystalline phase. Pyrolysis of the precursor with Ti:Al=2:1 led to the formation of AlN besides the major NaCl-type compound. A ceramic composite containing AlN and the NaCl-type compound was formed by pyrolysis of the precursor with Ti:Al=1:2.

반도체급 삼염화실란 중의 극미량 인의 분광광도법적 정량 (Spectrophotometric Determination of Traces of Phosphorus in Semiconductor-grade Trichlorosilane)

  • 고순도 삼염화실란(TCS) 중의 미량 인(P) 불순물 농도를 흡착 분리 방법을 이용하여 분광광도법적으로 측정하는 방법을 제안하였다. TCS 중의 미량 불순물인 P 염화물을 보다 안정한 $POCl_3$로 산화시킨 다음, ethanol 용매에 잘 녹으며$POCl_3$와 안정된 부가화합물 complex를 형성하는 물질로서$AlCl_3$를 선택하여 분리해 내었다. 이러한 흡착을 이용한 농축 분리 방법을 통해 분석 도중에 실리카 겔 및 기포의 생성을 방지할 수 있었는데, 반도체급 TCS 중의 P 농도는 ${\pm}$ 17% 표준편차 범위내에서 5.32${\mi}g/l$로 측정되었다. 이와같이 $AlCl_3$로 P 화합물을 제거시킨 정제된 TCS 중의 P 농도는 0.15${\mi}g/l$이하로 측정되어 $AlCl_3$의 우수한 흡착 성능이 습식분석에 효과적으로 이용될 수 있음을 확인할 수 있다. 또한 TCS 정제 중 P 불순물 제거에 효과적인 것으로 알려진 다른 흡착 물질의 성능도 본 측정 방법으로 비교 분석하였다.

  • Solvent-free reduction of various aldoximes and ketoximes to the corresponding amines was performed easily and efficiently with $NaBH_4$ in the presence of $ZrCl_4$ supported on $Al_2O_3$. The reactions were carried out rapidly (within 2 min) at room temperature to afford the amines in high to excellent yields.

  • In the present study, Al-Zn coating was deposited by Arc thermal (AT) and plasma arc thermal (PAT) spray processes, and their corrosion characteristics were studied in 3.5% NaCl through electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and mechanical tests. The bond adhesion result showed that plasma arc sprayed coating had a higher value attributed to compact, dense, and less porous coating compared to arc thermal spray coating which contains defects/pores and uneven morphology as revealed by scanning electron microscope analysis. Electrochemical results revealed that the plasma arc sprayed coating had a high polarization resistance at early stage of immersion, suggesting its excellent corrosion protection performance.

한국산 천연 제올라이트로부터 제올라이트 NaX로의 전환 (Transformation of Korean Natural Zeolite to Faujasite NaX)

  • 모더나이트와 크리노프티로라이트가 혼재되어 있는 한국산 천연 제올라니트(경북 구룡포산)로부터 제올라이트 X를 합성하였다. 원료를 열처리한 결과 크리노프티로라이트는 없어지고 모더나이트만 남았다. 2N-8N의 염산으로 알루미늄을 추출하거나 혹은 열처리한 국산 천연 제올라이트에 NaCl과 $NaAlO_2$ 및 NaOH를 첨가한 혼합용액을 $95^{\circ}C$에서 12~36시간 동안 반응시켜 제올라이트 X를 얻었다. 염산으로 전처리한 시료 25g을 3.5g NaCl, 8g $NaAlO_2$와 6N NaOH 50ml의 혼합용액으로 $95^{\circ}C$에서 24시간 반응시킨 것이 제올라이트 NaX의 최대수율을 나타내었다.

  • 더덕의 뿌리로부터 aluminum스트레스와 관련이 있는 aluminum induce protein(ClAIP)유전자를 분리하였다. ClAIP 유전자의 염기서열를 분석한 결과 906 bp 길이로, 236개의 아미노산으로 번역되는 711bp의 ORF를 가지고 있으며, A. marina(84%), G. hirsutum(84%), V. radiata(83%), A. thaliana(80%), B. hapus(78%), T. aestivum(68%) 등 다른 식물에서 밝혀져 있는 aluminum induce protein과 높은 상동성을 나타내었고, N-terminal에는 Asn synthetase영역이 존재하고 있다. 더덕에서 분리한 aluminum induced protein(ClAIP)을 aluminum처리 농도와 시간에 따른 ClAIP유전자의 발현양상을 알아보고자 50uM $Al^{3+}$ 를 처리 후 시간대별로 RT-PCR을 수행한 결과 시간이 지남에 따라 ClAIP유전자의 발현이 증가되는 것으로 나타났다 중금속, 염 , 온도에 대한 유전자의 발현양상을 조사하기 위 해 50uM CdCl,$_2$, 20 uM CuSO$_4$, 50uM Fe$_2$O$_3$, 100 uM NaCl를 2일과 42$^{\circ}C$에서 4시간 처리 후 발현량을 조사한 결과 카드뮴(Cd)에 대해서 특이적으로 반응하는 것으로 나타났다.

Etching Characteristics of HfAlO3 Thin Films Using an Cl2/BCl3/Ar Inductively Coupled Plasma

  • In this study, we changed the etch parameters (gas mixing ratio, radio frequency [RF] power, direct current [DC]-bias voltage, and process pressure) and then monitored the effect on the $HfAlO_3$ thin film etch rate and the selectivity with $SiO_2$. A maximum etch rate of 108.7 nm/min was obtained in $Cl_2$ (3 sccm)/$BCl_3$ (4 sccm)/Ar (16 sccm) plasma. The etch selectivity of $HfAlO_3$ to $SiO_2$ reached 1.11. As the RF power and the DC-bias voltage increased, the etch rate of the $HfAlO_3$ thin film increased. As the process pressure increased, the etch rate of the $HfAlO_3$ thin films increased. The chemical state of the etched surfaces was investigated with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. According to the results, the etching of $HfAlO_3$ thin film follows the ion-assisted chemical etching.

  • The surface properties of AI(Si, Cu) alloy film after plasma etching using the chemistries of chlorinated and fluorinated gases with varying the etching time have been investigated using X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy.   • Aoolphane was treated with 30% Hydrochloric acid at $18^{\circ}C$ for two hows with stirring in order to obtain the insoluble form of SiO2 gel and to extract quantitatively both $Al_2O_3$as and $Fe_2O_3AlCl_3{\cdot}6H_2O Fe$ and $Cl_3{\cdot}6H_2O$ forms, respectively, at the same time. $SiO_2$ gel was filtered and to the filterate Ammonia was added to precipitate $Al(OH)_3[Fe(OH)_3 Contaminated ]$ The precipitate was separated by filteration and the filterate was recovered as the form of $NH_4Cl$. The precipitate was treated with 200g (NaOH)/l Concentration of NaOH a little excessively to the equivalent at $65~70^{\circ}C$ as $Fe(OH)_3$ formed was insoluble, it was filtered of and to the filterate containing $NaAl(OH)_4(OH_2)_2$Carbon dioxide gas was bubbled at $50^{\circ}C~90^{\circ}C$ to obtain the precipitate with excellent filterability and crystallinity. The product was certified to be Dawsonite $(NaAl(OH)_2CO_3)$ by X-Ray diffraction analysis at below $40^{\circ}C$, when $CO_2$ gas was bubbled into the relatively lower concentration of $NaAl(OH)_4(OH_2)_2$ solution, the precipitate of very fine particles was formed, which was hard to filter and with the Composition of $\alpha-Al_2O_3-H_2O$ (Boehmite).

Catalytic Dehydrocoupling of Bis(1-sila-3-butyl)benzene and 2-Phenyl-1,3-disilapropane by Zirconocene Catalysts

  • The catalytic dehydrocoupling of bis(1-sila-3-butyl)benzene, 1 by Cp2ZrCl2/Red-Al and Cp2ZrCl2/n-BuLi combination catalysts yielded a mixture of oily and solid polymers. While the catalytic dehydrocoupling of 2-phenyl-l,3-disilapropane, 2 by Cp2ZrCl2/n-BuLi combination catalyst produced a mixture of oily and solid polymers, the catalytic redistribution/dehydrocoupling of 2 by Cp2ZrCl2/Red-Al combination catalyst gave oily polymer. The dehydrocoupling of 1 and 2, unless the prior silane redistribution occurs, seems to initially produce a low-molecular-weight polymer, which then undergoes an extensive cross-linking reaction of backbone Si-H bonds, leading to an insoluble polymer.
