The objective of this study is to investigate the value of rock Korean chessboards as a corroborative evidence that go, the play culture naturalized from the past, was also performed under the pavilion of the mountain stream, and the old tree. This study executes analysis on the location and form of rock Korean chessboards, physical environment such as the position of surrounding space, the origin of the nomination, surrounding landscape, and historical significance through the research analysis of comprehensive present conditions, and highlights the position types, landscape significance, and preservation value of the rock Korean chessboards of Korea from diverse angles. The result is as follows. 1. The styles of Korean chess (將棋), which identically propagated in the representative countries of Eastern culture, Korea, China, and Japan, and modified in accordance with each country's idea and native tendency, were organized, and confirmed the Korean Go as a naturalized native culture. 2. Out of 15 rock Korean chessboards confirmed through this study, 9 (60%) were categorized as rock Korean chessboards, and 6 (40%) were categorized as stone Korean chessboards. Also, the average size of the go boards were $51cm{\times}46.6cm$, which demonstrated not much difference with present day universal go boards. The Pearson correlation coefficient between bed rock and go boards were 0.647, demonstrating a relatively high correlation; the research subject of rock go boards have been constructed in consideration of rationality, convenience, and the value of promotion of public welfare. 3. The results of analysis of location patterns of rock Korean chessboard showed that villages (87%), mooring (73%), plains (60%) and mountains (47%). The most frequent location pattern is mooring and village, and these two factors played the most important role in determining the location of the rock Korean chessboard.

Abstract The effect of the film stress on the thermal stability of TiSi, films under the dielectric overcoat was investigated. TiS$i_2$ films with the sheet resistance of 1.2 ohm/sq. were produced by a solid-state reaction between sputtered Ti film and single-crystalline Si in an RTA (rapid thermal anneal) machine. Dielectric overcoats such as the USG (Undoped Silicate Glass, Si$O_2$) film and the PE-SiN(S$i_3$$N_4$) film were deposited by AP-CVD and PE-CVD, respectively, on the TiS$i_2$ film. The thermal stability of the TiSi, film was evaluated by changes in the sheet resistance, film stress and microstructure after furnace anneals at 90$0^{\circ}C$. Agglomeration of the TiSi2 film high temperatures results in the increase of sheet resistance and the decrease of tensile stress of TiSi, film. The stress level of the TiSi" PE-SiN and ~SG films at 90$0^{\circ}C$C was 1.3${\times}{10^{9}}$, 1.25 ${\times}{10^{10}}$, 2.26 ${\times}{10^{10}}$ dyne/c$m^2$ in tensile, respectively. Dielectric films deposited by CVD on TiSi, was effective on preventing agglomeration of TiSi,. The PE-SiN film mproved the thermal stability of TiSi, more effectively than the AP-CVD USG film. It is considered that agglomeration of the TiS$i_2$ film under the stress of dielectric overcoat at high temperature can be caused by a diffusional flow of atom called Nabarro-Herring microcreep.reep.
The object of this article is to examine the shapes and the development of the costume worn in the early and middle Yi Dynasty from the viewpoint of the history of customes with the excavated clothing from Chung-Ju (1530 A.D.), Wool-San (1650 A.D.), An-Dong (1650 A.D.) etc. The study of the history of costumes of the early years of the Yi Dynasty has been mainly dependent upon fiblirographical records sofar. So I have arranged in order some excavated clothing of the early Yi Dynasty, which gives us some means for the study of Korean historical costumes. It is noticeably remarkable that the daily wear of the early Yi Dynasty period was excavated for the first time from Chung-ju. The results drawn from this research are: It is argued that the original from of Chul-nik(天翼) has been excavated. This is the remnants Mongolian clothing of the Koryo Dynasty, and it is sketched in the Dai-Myong-jib-lei(大明集禮) as Yo-sun-o-ja which the lower classes usually put on. The similar clothing is also handed down as a Dan-po(緞袍) from the ming Dynasty, and we can presume that Chul-nik was a common clothing regardless of the social status of their wearer. It is also remarkable that even women at those times wore the Chul-nik. The length of the Cheo-go-ri of the early Yi Dynasty was the middle hip length, and the edge of the sleeves was very wide which called Cham-soo, and it was handed down to the middle period of the Yi Dynasty which can be seen in the coat (po) of women(直領袍). The systems of the straight-collar Po(袍) during the early Yi Dynasty were discovered for the first time. This Po(袍) which would represent the po-system of the early years of Yi Dynasty, is handed down even to the middle of Yi Dynasty. The collars of the Po(coat) of the early Yi Dynasty are mostly double collars(二重衿) and these give us the advantage in reconsidering of the cheo-go-ri(赤古里) of the Kingdom of Shin-la, or Koryo Dynasty. The edge of the women's Ba-ji(袴) of the early Yi Dynasty was wide and the Ba-ji had a shoulder belt which connect the front part with the back one, which showed the practical point of Ba-ji. The men's Ba-ji of the middle Yi Dynasty was the same as can be seen today and it is clear that the Mongolian Ba-ji dated to B.C. 1 was the same one also. In the system of the Chi-ma(常), there seems to be no differences between the ancient styles and those of these times.
Objective : The purpose of this study is to investigate the mechanism and effect of moxibustion objectively and to be used as the quantitative data for developing the new thermal stimulating treatment by observing the combustion characteristics of commercial moxaes. Methods : We have selected two types(large-size moxa A(LMA), large-size moxa B(LMB)) among large moxaes used widely in the clinic. We examined combustion times, temperatures, temperature gradients in each period during a combustion of moxa. Results : 1. The ascending temperature gradient measured in the central point of non-contacted surface was fastest, the average ascending temperature gradient of both moxaes was $0.0384^{\circ}C/sec$, $0.0123^{\circ}C/sec$ respectively, 3.1 times faster in LMA. The maximum ascending temperature gradient was also about 2.9 times faster in LMA. The time required for the maximum ascending temperature gradient from ignition was 254sec, 411sec respectively. 2. The minimum descending temperature gradient in the retaining period was $-0.0250^{\circ}C/sec$, $-0.0090^{\circ}C/sec$ respectively and the average descending temperature gradient was $-0.0160^{\circ}C/sec$, $-0.0037^{\circ}C/sec$ respectively on the non-contact surface. 3. On the basis of the non-contact surface($A_I$), the time at which the effective stimulus period began to occur was about 264sec, 796sec respectively after an ignition, the time at which the maximum temperature began to occur was about 373sec, 1323sec respectively after an ignition, and the maximum temperature was $0.9^{\circ}C$ higher in LMA. The maximum ascending temperature gradient was also about 4.2 times faster in LMA. Conclusion : It was thought that not only the figure of moxicombustion device, but also the form and size of moxa had influence on the combustion characteristics deciding the performance of stimulus seriously.
A study was made of the concentration of the naturally occurring radionuclide $^{210}Po$ in seawater, plankton and fishes collected from Yongil Bay, Korea, in summer 1993. The mean value of the $^{210}Po$ concentration in sea water was determined to be about 1.9 mBq/l, with the proportion of the dissolved forms being about $46\%$. The mean $^{210}Po$ concentration factor in the centric diatom Skeletonema costatum, comprises > $95\%$ of the total phytoplankton cell number, was $7.6\times10^4$. Of five species of zooplankton examined, four species (two copepods and two mysids) had $^{210}Po$ concentrations in the range of $^{210}Po$ mBq/g dry weight. A copepod Labidocera bipinnata, however, was exceptional with a particularly high $^{210}Po$ level of 2,070 mBq/g. This indicates that L. bipinnata is primarily a raptorial feeder. The concentration of $^{210}Po$ in the pyloric caecum of pelagic fishes was 2,979-3,811 mBq/g, with the concentration factors of $3.4-4.3\times10^6$. The food chain concentration of $^{210}Po$ occurred as follows: phytoplankton < filter feeding copepods < omnivorous mysids < raptorial copepod < pelagic fishes.

This study was conducted to find out the optimal extraction conditions to obtain extracts with a high content of ginsenosides and antioxidant activity using the ginseng berry. After extraction by stirring, ultrasound and microwave method using 70% ethanol and distilled water as solvents, the results of considering the content of ginsenoside Re and Rb1, total polyphenol content, antioxidant activity, and whether it is an environmentally friendly manufacturing method, it was confirmed that the microwave method using distilled water is good method of extraction. The optimization of extraction conditions for microwave method were made by response surface methodology (RSM). Microwave power (50 ~ 200 W, X1), solvent and ginseng berry ratio (5 ~ 20 times, X2) and the extraction time (30 ~ 120 s, X3) were used as independent variables. The model showed a good fit having a determination coefficient of the regression equation of 0.9 or more and a p-value less than 0.05. Estimated conditions for the maximized extraction of ginsenoside contents and total polyphenols were 200 w in microwave power, 20 times in solvent and ginseng berry ratio, and 90 s in extraction time. Predicted values at the optimum conditions were total polyphenols of 6.23 mg GAE/g, ginsenoside Re of 17.69 mg/g, and ginsenoside Rb1 of 16.01 mg/g. In the verification of the actual measurement the obtained values showed 6.33 mg GAE/g, 17.79 mg/g, and 15.59 mg/g, respectively, in good agreement with predicted values.
This study identified actual wearing and size dissatisfaction with jeans worn by upper grade elementary school girls. A survey was conducted on 147 10~12-year-old girls in order to collect basic data to design a slim fit jeans pattern for upper grade elementary school girls. The result of the study are as follows. Upper grade elementary school girls wore jeans at least once a week, 46.9% were 1~2 times, 31.3% were 3~4 times and 21.8% were more than 5 times per week. The size of the jeans they wear was often one size or two sizes larger than the actual height section. Upper grade elementary school girls preferred jeans that fit well and allow for a full range of motion; in addition, waist and hip measurements were important criteria when selecting size. The preferred length of jeans was those that go to the ankle along with slim-style jeans made of "cotton+spandex". In terms of dissatisfaction with jeans, upper grade elementary school girls showed discomfort when the lower back waistline slipped when sitting and when there was a tight crotch area. In addition, cases of exchange or return were found to be due to fit, including waist, hip or thigh measurements even when the area most repaired is was the pant length.ired is pant length, cases of exchange or return were found to be due to fit, including waist, hip, or thigh measurements.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of riverbed variation due to the sediment protection weir located on the estuary of the main stream of Taehwa river using I-D finite difference model, HEC-6 model, and the followings are the results of estimating sediment transport rate, amount of scour or deposition, and accumulated amount of deposit according to before and after of the sediment protection weir removal with various flow rates in the channel. Ackers-White transport function produced the greatest sediment transport rate while Meyer-Peter showed the smallest sediment transport rate at the most down stream area of the watershed through the sediment transport rate analyses for various flow rates according to the existence or nonexistence of the sediment protection weir. Toffaleti's and Colby transport function were closest to the average value, and the difference among the results of the sediment transport functions showed up to 8~9 times. Duboy's transport function produced the greatest riverbed variation while Toffaleti's showed the smallest variation through the riverbed variation analyses according to the existence or nonexistence of the sediment protection weir. Yang's was closest to the average value, and the difference among the results of the riverbed variation analyses ranged from 1.4 times to 11 times. It is thought that a sediment transport function must be selected very carefully with respect to the criteria of sediment yield estimation because the analysis results of the sediment transport rate and riverbed variation according to flow rates showed significant differences among the sediment transport functions, and the differences of sediment transport rate and riverbed variation according to the various sediment transport functions decreased as the flow rate increased.

PURPOSE: This study compared the effectiveness of trunk control exercise performed on an unstable surface with that of general balance exercise on dynamic balance in the patients with chronic stroke. METHODS: The persons of this study were thirty-seven chronic stroke patients were recruited and randomly divided into 2 groups; (1) those who performed trunk control exercise on a foam roll and (2) those who performed general balance exercise. The exercises were performed 5 times a week for 4 weeks. To determine the effectiveness of the 2 types of exercises, we measured dynamic balance at the beginning of the exercises and again after 4 weeks at the completion of exercises program. RESULTS: After 4 weeks of exercise, both the groups showed increased Berg's balance scale and timed-up-and-go test (p<.001) scores. However, Trunk control exercise group was more effective than general balance exercise group was in increasing the Berg's balance scale (p<.01) and timed-up-and-go test (p<.05) scores. CONCLUSION: We suggest that trunk control exercise may be effective in increasing the balance ability of patients with chronic stroke than general balance exercise. Thus, trunk control exercise is important for such patients. Further studies are needed for better understanding of the effectiveness of trunk control exercise in chronic stroke patients.
Two-types of carbon fiber, anisotropic- and isotropic- pitch based, were expose to isothermal oxidation in air and $CO_{2}$ gas and the weight change rates was measured by TGA apparatus. Thc oxidation rate was laster in air than in $CO_{2}$ gas, and the oxidation rare of isotropic T- 101s liher was over 23 9 times faster than that of anisotropic HM-60 filler at $600^{\circ}C$ in air. The activation energy was 36-56 Kcal/mole at lower temperature range and 6- 13 Kcal/molc at higher temperature range. It was higher that the transition temperalure 01 reaction zone(zone 1. 2, :i) of 11M-GO fiber than that of T-101s fiber, and it was higher in $CO_{2}$ gas than in air. From SEM observation, it Lvas found that the oxidation of carbon fibers was progressed through the imperfection.
