The purpose of this research is to determine the deterioration characteristics of high-rise and high-density apartment complexes in 1st period new towns in order to regenerate apartments as sustainable residential environments in Korea. For this purpose, the level of deterioration was evaluated by using 'evaluating indicators of the level of deterioration of high-rise and high-density apartments'. The deterioration characteristics were determined inclusively and concretely based on evaluation results. In addition, the deterioration level according to residents' awareness of the deterioration of their apartment was evaluated. This study was conducted by methods of field data collection, staff interview, field measurement, and resident survey according to the measurement of the evaluating indicators. And the re-organized questionnaire based on the evaluating indicators was utilized for a survey of resident's awareness. The results are as follows: In the physical dimensions of apartments, the deterioration characteristics included deteriorated equipment and a decline in structural performance due to the aging of the apartment, a shortage of parking spaces, and the low flexibility of the bearing wall structure, etc. In terms of the social dimensions, the apartments showed an increase in the number of elderly households, a shortage of community facilities, and a lack of the opportunity for community participation etc. In terms of the economic dimensions, the apartments showed limitations in maintenance & repair and a lack of environmentally friendly features.
The residual chlorine concentration is an essential factor to secure reliable water quality in the water distribution systems. The chlorine concentration decays along the pipeline system and the main processes of the reaction can be divided into the bulk decay and the wall decay mechanisms. Using EPANET 2.0, it is possible to predict the chlorine decay through bulk decay and wall decay based on the pipeline geometry and the hydraulic analysis of the water distribution system. In this study, we tried to verify the predictability of EPANET 2.0 using data collected from experimental practices. We performed chlorine concentration measurement according to various Reynolds numbers in a pilot-scale water distribution system. The chlorine concentration was predicted using both bulk decay model and wall decay model. As a result of the comparison between experimental data and simulated data, the performance of the limited $1^{st}$-order model was found to the best in the bulk decay model. The wall decay model simulated the initial decay well, but the overall chlorine decay cannot be properly predicted. Simulation also indicated that as the Reynolds number increased, the impact of the wall.
According to the regulation of IMO, oil discharge from ships is allowed under 15ppm only and an oil filtering equipment is essential. However, for large ships using heavy fuel oil of over S.G 0.98 and viscosity 380cSt and system oil, it has been in difficulty to process with existing filtering type of oily water separator. A parallel plate type oily water separator which is one of gravity type separators can be used as an assistant equipment for the oil filtering system to meet the present IMO standard of 15 ppm, because it is an efficient method in dealing with a large amount of rich oil with high specific gravity. This work is focused on the fundamental investigation of the performance of the plate type oily water separator by visualization method and PIV(Particle Image Velocimetry) measurement to acquire multi-point velocity data simultaneously. The experimental results showed that the space of the plates acts a significant role in separating process and it was found that an important point to minimize a vortex flow is to flow a large amount of fluid in space of the plates in order to promote the efficiency of separation.

It depends on the joint configuration, dimensions and constraints on the joint whether the residual stress at the root of single-sided butt weld is tensile or not. Therefore, recommendation is generally made that high R ratio should be used in the fatigue test of this type of joint in order to prevent excessively long life caused by compressive residual stress. in this research, the residual stress profile in butt weld joint was obtained through compliance method, using successive extension of a slot and measurement of the variation of strain during the slot extension. The residual stress profile was firstly assumed to be the linear summation of Legendre polynomials up to 9th order excluding 0th and 1st order. Strain variation on the surface was measured while the slot was being extended by cutting to find out the 8 unknown coefficients of each polynomial tenn. The cut was made by the electric discharge machine. It was concluded that the residual stress near the surface stayed positive, however, it turned into the negative value as soon as it passed through 2 or 3 mm depth. Several fatigue tests were also carried out under zero stress ratio. Test results showed that fatigue life coincides well with the design cuive of butt joint in British Standards, which supports that it is tensile residual stress that exists near the weld root.
As compared with body height and body weight by ages and sexes, by means of the data reported under other researchers from 1967 to 1994 for 33 years, this study obtained the estimate value of body height and body weight by ages and sexes for the same period, and figured out prediction value of body height and body weight in the ages of between 6 and 14 from 1995 to 2000. These surveys and measurements took for one year from October 1st 1994 to September 30th. As shown in the 〈Table 1〉, in order to calculate the establishment, estimate value and prediction value of the chronological regression model of body height and body weight, by well-grounded 17 representative research papers, this research statistically tested propriety of liner regression model by the residual analysis in advance of being reconciled to simple liner regression model by the autonomous variable-year and the subordinate variable-body weight and measured prediction value, theoretical value from 1962 to 1994 by means of 2nd or 3rd polynomial regression model, with this redult did prediction value from 1995 to 2000. 1. Chronological Change of Body Height and Body Weight The analysis result from regression model of the chronological body height and body weight for the aged 6 - 16 in both sexes ranging from 1962 to 1994, corned from the 〈Table 2-20〉. On the one hand, the measurement value of respective researchers had a bit changes by ages with age growing, but the other hand, theoretical value, prediction value showed the regular increase by the stages and all values indicated a straight line on growth and development with age growing. That is, in case of the aged 6, males had 109.93cm in 1962 and females 108.93cm, but we found the increase that males had 1I8.0cm, females 1I3.9cm. In theoretical value, prediction value, males showed the increase from 109.88cm to 1I7.89cm and females from 109.27cm to 1I5.64cm respectively. There was the same inclination toward all ages. 2. Comparision to Measurement Value and Prediction Value of Body Height and Body Weight in 1994 As shown in the 〈Table 21〉, in case of body height, measurement value and prediction value of body height and body weight by ages and sexes almost showed the similiar inclination and poor grade, in case of body weight, prediction value in males had a bit low value by all ages, and prediction value in females had a high value in adolescence, to the contrary, a low value in adult. 3. Prediction Value of Body Height and Body Weight from 1995 to 2000 This research showed that body height and body weight remarkably increased in adolescence but slowly in adult. This study represented that Korean physique was on the increase and must be measured continually hereafter.

Recently, Europe decided to start the regulation of diesel engine nanoparticles because of its well known adverse health effects. The diesel nanoparticles can be classified as solid carbon particles and volatile particles. The volatile particles generates during dilution process by condensation of gas phase volatile compounds such as hydrocarbon. The new nanoparticle regulation considers only solid particles because of difficulty of measurement of volatile particles. The aim of this study is to suggest a proper dilution method that prevent the volatile particle generation. As a result, it is found that the $1^{st}$ dilution air temperature should be above $120^{\circ}C$ in order to prevent volatile particle generation effectively. It is also found that the volatile particles can be removed effectively in the evaporation tube by the increase of evaporation tube temperature. But when exhaust gas is hot enough (>$190^{\circ}C$, in this study) and it is diluted in the first diluter with high temperature air (>$120^{\circ}C$), removal phenomenon of volatile particles by increasing of evaporation tube temperature can not be seen. It means that there are no volatile particles in the diluted exhaust gas. Additionally, dilution ratio is not an important factor for volatile particle generation compared with dilution air temperature or evaporation tube temperature.
The purpose of this study was to develop an assist device that could correct and support patient position during biopsy on computed tomography (CT) using 3D printing technology. The development method was conducted in the order of 3D design, 3D output, intermediate evaluation for product, final assist device evaluation. The 3D design method was conducted in the order of prior research data survey, measurement, primary modeling, 3D printing, output evaluation, and supplementary modeling. The 3D output was the 3D printer (3DWOX 2X, Sindoh, Korea) with additive manufacturing technology and the polylactic acid (PLA) materials. At this time, the optimal strength was evaluated to infill degree of product as the 3D printing factors into 20%, 40%, 60%, and 80%. The intermediate evaluation and supplementation was measured noise in the region of interest (ROI) around the beam hardening artifact on the CT images. We used 128-channel MDCT (Discovery 75 HD, GE, USA) to scan with a slice thickness of 100 kVp, 150 mA, and 2.5 mm on the 3D printing product. We compared the surrounding noise of the final 3D printing product with the beginning of it. and then the strength of it according to the degree of infill was evaluated. As a result, the surrounding noise of the final and the early devices were measured at an average of 3.3 ± 0.5 HU and 7.1 ± 0.1 HU, respectively, which significantly reduced the noise of the final 3D printing product (p<0.001). We found that the percentage of infill according to the optimal strength was found to be 60%. Finally, development of assist devices for CT biopsy will be able to minimize artifacts and provide convenience to medical staff and patients.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of squat, bracing and aerobic exercise on lung function, which is known to be effective for strength training, on lung function. Methods : The study was conducted with 33 students from Busan K university. Eleven students were assigned to squats, bracing, and aerobic exercise, six weeks three times a week. In order to measure lung activity, pony Fx manufactured the change amount of FVC (forced vital capacity), FEV1 (Forced expiratory volume at one second), and FEV1/FVC % (forced vital capacity/forced expiratory volume at one second) was analyzed after inputting the information of experimental group A and B controls. As a method of measurement, the difference between the three groups was analyzed using repeated ANOVA. Results : As a result of analyzing the effects of squat, bracing, and aerobic exercise for 6 weeks, all values of FVC, FEV1, FEV1/FVC % were increased from 0 weeks to 6 weeks except FEV1/FVC %. There was no significant difference in FVC from week 3 to week 6. In the squat, bracing, and aerobic exercise, the changes in spirometry showed that the FVC, FEV1, and FEV1/FVC % values in bracing exercise were significantly increased with time than before exercise. As a result of analyzing the changes in the spirometry of squat, bracing, and aerobic exercise, the FVC, FEV1, FEV1/FVC % values in the squat exercise showed statistically significant difference according to the period, but the lowest increase among the three groups. Conclusion : In conclusion, aerobic, bracing and squat exercises all had a significant impact on improving lung function. Therefore, even without aerobic exercise, squat or bracing exercise alone can be expected to improve lung function.

Giant magnetoresistance (GMR), tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR), and magnetic random-access memory (MRAM) are currently active areas of research. Magnetite, Fe3O4, is predicted to possess as half-metallic nature, ~100% spin polarization (P), and has a high Curie temperature (TC~850 K). On the other hand, Spinel ferrite CoFe2O4 has been widely studies for various applications such as magnetorestrictive sensors, microwave devices, biomolecular drug delivery, and electronic devices, due to its large magnetocrystalline anisotropy, chemical stability, and unique nonlinear spin-wave properties. Here we have investigated the magneto-transport properties of epitaxial CoxFe3-xO4 thin films. The epitaxial CoxFe3-xO4 (x=0; 0.4; 0.6; 1) thin films were successfully grown on MgO (100) substrate by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE). The quality of the films during growth was monitored by reflection high electron energy diffraction (RHEED). From temperature dependent resistivity measurement, we observed that the Werwey transition (1st order metal-insulator transition) temperature increased with increasing x and the resistivity of film also increased with the increasing x up to $1.6{\Omega}-cm$ for x=1. The magnetoresistance (MR) was measured with magnetic field applied perpendicular to film. A negative transverse MR was disappeared with x=0.6 and 1. Anomalous Hall data will be discussed.

We have installed a 61-channel magnetocardiography (MCG) system inside a magnetically shielded room (MSR) with a size of $2.4\;m\;{\times}2.4\;m\;{\times}2.4\;m$. The MCG system consists of 1st-order axial gradiometers containing double relaxation oscillation SQUIDs (DROSs) with pick-up coils of a base line of 70 mm. The MSR holds a shielding factor of 50 at 0.1 Hz and 10000 at 100 Hz, when its door in the middle on a front wall is closed. On opening the MSR door, we have obtained the characteristics of the MCG system with a 2.9 Hz noise generated from an air conditioning unit at 13 m distance off the MSR. In an open-door MSR ($140^{\circ}$ opening), a noise at the center channel increases up to $700\;fT/Hz^{l/2}$ at 2.9 Hz and $1.7\;pT/Hz^{1/2}$ at 60 Hz. MCG signals for a healthy human do not show distortion until the door opens to $45^{\circ}$, but show the effect of noise when the door opens further at $90^{\circ}$ and $140^{\circ}$. With the door opens to $45^{\circ}$, MCG measurement can be performed with ease of door operation and without creating claustrophobia for the patient.
