195Pt NMR Study of the Influence of Nation Ionomer on the Enhanced Local Density of States at the Surface of Carbon-Supported pt Catalysts

  • $^{195}Pt$ NMR measurements were performed to deduce the variation of local density of states at the Fermi energy ($E_F$-LDOS) at the surface of carbonsupported Pt catalysts due to the addition of $Nafion^{(R)}$ ionomer in the metalelectrode-assembly for fuel cells. The results showed that the EF-LDOS at the surface of Pt particles was enhanced by the addition of $Nafion^{(R)}$ ionomers whereas it was uninfluenced in the inner (bulk) part of the Pt particles. This suggests that the effects of ionomers on the electronic states of the Pt particle surface are related to the electrochemical activity of the catalysts.

  • The papillary tubercles (PTs) developed on the splenic capsule of normal Landrace pigs were collected and their histological structures were observed with light microscope. The results were summarized as follows : 1. The external features of the PTs were smooth spherical or oval form protruded on the splenic capsules. On cross section of PTs, the shapes were predominantly round or elliptical single follicular form, and were often multifollicular and irregular form in some PTs. 2. The PTs were interposed into the splenic capsule. Therefore the peripheral boundary of PT was consisted of splenic capsular tissue and this tissue was covered with mesothelium, The basal tissues of PT were consisted of thick connective tissue and smooth muscle of splenic capsule, and capsular foramen for transport tract between splenic parenchyma and the PT was found at the center of the basal boundary of PT. 3. The basal region of PT was composed of parenchyma and this tissue was the splenic red pulp but the central and peripheral regions of PT contained much more erythrocytes than in the splenic parenchymae. 4. The splenic parenchymae adjoining to PT contained more erythrocytes than in other splenic parenchymal regions and parallel fixed cells directed to the capsular foramen.

Electrochemical Promotion of Pt Catalyst for The Oxidation of Carbon Monoxide

  • Electrochemical promotion of the reaction rate was investigated for CO oxidation in a solid electrolyte catalytic reactor where a thin film of Pt was deposited on the yttria stabilized zirconia as an electrode as well as a catalyst. It was shown under open circuit condition that potential was a mixed potential of $O_2$exchange reaction and electrochemical reaction induced by CO. The effect of electrochemical modification on the CO oxidation rate was studied at various overpotentials and $P_{CO}$$P_{O2}$.

PEMFC에서 Pt-Co/C Cathode 촉매가 고분자막의 전기화학적 내구성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Pt-Co/C Cathode Catalyst on Electrochemical Durability of Membrane in PEMFC)

  • PEMFC(고분자 전해질 막 연료전지) cathode 촉매로 Pt-Co/C가 내구성 향상 때문에 최근에 많이 사용되는 추세이다. 연료전지에서 전극과 전해질은 상호 간에 성능과 내구성 면에서 밀접하게 영향을 준다. Pt/C 전극 촉매에서 Pt-Co/C로 대체되었을 때 고분자 전해질막의 전기화학적 내구성에 미치는 영향에 대해서 연구하였다. PEMFC 고분자막의 전기화학적 가속 열화 과정에서 Pt-Co/C MEA(막전극접합체)의 내구성이 Pt/C MEA 내구성보다 높았다. FER (불소유출속도)와 수소투과도를 분석한 결과 Pt-Co/C MEA의 고분자막 열화속도가 Pt/C MEA보다 낮음을 보였다. OCV(개회로전압) holding 과정에서 Pt-Co/C 전극의 활성면적 감소속도가 Pt/C 전극보다 낮고, 고분자막에 석출되는 Pt 양도 Pt-Co/C MEA가 Pt/C MEA보다 작았다. 고분자막 내부의 Pt는 라디칼을 생성해서 고분자막을 열화시킴으로 Pt 석출 속도가 높은 Pt/C MEA의 고분자막 열화속도가 높게 나타났다. Pt-Co/C 촉매를 사용하면 전극 내구성도 향상되고, 고분자막에 석출되는 Pt양도 감소해서 고분자막의 전기화학적 내구성을 향상시켰다.

Hydrogen Production Through Catalytic Dehydrogenation of Decalin over Pt/C Catalyst Using Activated Carbon Aerogel

  • To improve its textural properties as a support for platinum catalyst, carbon aerogel was chemically activated with KOH as a chemical agent. Carbon-supported platinum catalyst was subsequently prepared using the prepared carbon supports(carbon aerogel(CA), activated carbon aerogel(ACA), and commercial activated carbon(AC)) by an incipient wetness impregnation. The prepared carbon-supported platinum catalysts were applied to decalin dehydrogenation for hydrogen production. Both initial hydrogen evolution rate and total hydrogen evolution amount were increased in the order of Pt/CA < Pt/AC < Pt/ACA. This means that the chemical activation process served to improve the catalytic activity of carbon-supported platinum catalyst in this reaction. The high surface area and the well-developed mesoporous structure of activated carbon aerogel obtained from the activation process facilitated the high dispersion of platinum in the Pt/ACA catalyst. Therefore, it is concluded that the enhanced catalytic activity of Pt/ACA catalyst in decalin dehydrogenation was due to the high platinum surface area that originated from the high dispersion of platinum.

Metal/Ferroelectric/Insulator/Semiconductor 구조의 결정 구조 및 전기적 특성에 관한 연구 (Characteristics of the Crystal Structure and Electrical Properties of Metal/Ferroelectric/Insulator/Semiconductor)

  • 본 연구에서는 강유전체 박막의 게이트 산화물로 사용한 $Pt/SrBi_2Ta_2O_9(SBT)/CeO_2/Si(MFS)$와 Pt/SBT/Si(MFS) 구조의 결정 구조 및 전기적 성질 의 차이를 연구하였다. XRD 및 SEM 측정 결과 SBT/$CeO_2$/Si박막은 약5nm정도의 $SiO_2$층 이 형성되었고 비교적 평탄한 계면의 미세구조를 가지는 반면, SBT/Si는 각각 약6nm와 7nm정도의 $SiO_2$층과 비정질 중간상층이 형성되었음을 알 수 있다. 즉 CeO2 박막을 완충층 으로 사용함으로써 SBT박막과 Si기판의 상호 반응을 적절히 억제할 수 있음을 확인하였다. Pt/SBT/$CeO_2/Pt/SiO_2$/와 Pt/SBT/Pt/$SiO_2$/Si구조에서 Polarization-Electric field(P-E) 특 성을 비교해 본 결과 CeO2박막의 첨가에 따라 잔류분극값은 감소하였고 항전계값은 증가하 였다. MFIS구조에서 memory window값은 항전계값과 직접적 관련이 있으므로 이러한 항 전계값의 증가는 MFIS구조에서의 memory window값이 증가할 수 있음을 나타낸다. Pt-SBT(140nm)/$CeO_2$(25nm)/Si구조에서 Capacitance-Voltage(C-V) 측정 결과로부터 동작 전압 4-6V에서 memory wondows가 1-2V정도로 나타났다. SBT박막의 두께가 증가할수록 memory window값은 증가하였는데 memory wondows가 1-2V정도로 나타났다. SBT박막의 두께가 증가할수록 memory window값은 증가하였는데 이는 SBT박막에 걸리는 전압강하가 증가하기 때문인 것으로 생각되어진다. Pt/SBT/$CeO_2$/Si의 누설전류는 10-8A/cm2정도였고 Pt/SBT/Si 구조에서는 약10-6A/cm2정도로 약간 높은 값을 나타내었다.
