A simple and rapid method known as matrix solid phase dispersion(MSPD) for simultaneous determination of 11 pesticide(2,4,5,6-tetrachlor m-xylene, ${\alpha}$-BHC, ${\gamma}$-BHC, ${\delta}$-BHC, aldrin, chlorfulazuron, heptachloroepoxide, dieldrine, endrin, endosulfan sulfate, and tetradifon) in beef fat was estabilished. Beef fat(0.5g) was fortified by adding the 11 pesticides and dibutylchlorendate as internal standard, and blended with 2g bulk $C_{18}$ in pestle and motar. Pesticides were eluted from an extraction column composed of $C_{18}$/ fat matrix blend and 2g activated Florisil by addition of 8ml acetonitrile. Then $2{\mu}l$ portion of the acetonitrile elute was directly analyzed by gaschromatography with electron capture detection. Unfortified blank control were treated similarly. Recovery rate were ranged from $83{\pm}5.4%$ to $94.2{\pm}7.6%$, intra-assay variability and inter-assay variability were ranged from 2.3% to 7.4%(n=5 for each insecticides) and from $6{\pm}1%$ to $12{\pm}3%$(n=10 for each insecticides), respectively. These results indicated that the MSPD methodology is aceptable for the extraction, determination and screening of residues 11 chroniated pesticides in beef fat.
Modified C95600 bronze contains Fe component of 0.7 weight percentage besides Cu-7Al-2.5Si composition. The shape of centrifugal cast is a circular pipe with thick wall. Specimens machined from the centrifugal cast were quenched in oil after isothermal holding at a given heat treatment temperature in the range of $700{\sim}900^{\circ}C$. Mechanical properties and structural morphology are depended on the quenching heat treatment temperature regardless of isothermal holding time. Tensile strength or Brinell hardness is increased with increasing heat treatment temperature. The microstructure caused by quenching contains mixing phases of ${\alpha}+{\beta}'+FeSi+{\kappa}$ which martensite of ${\beta}'$ phase has been transformed from ${\beta}$ phase. Effect of isothermal holding temperature on mechanical properties in case of quenching heat treatment attributes to the change of volume fraction of ${\beta}'$ on the structural morphology. Mechanical characteristics of specimen, initially quenched from $850^{\circ}C$, and then tempered at $500^{\circ}C$, does not show an obvious softening indication, because disappearance of ${\beta}'$ during tempering process can be compensated by precipitation of brittle phase ${\gamma}$.
Superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (Nps), composed of magnetite, $Fe_3O_4$, or maghemite, ${\gamma}-Fe_2O_3$, core and biocompatible polymer shell, such as dextran or chitozan, have recently found wide applications in magnetic resonance imaging, contrast enhancement and hyperthermia therapy. For different diagnostic and therapeutic applications, current attempt is focusing on the synthesis and biomedical applications of various ferrite Nps, such as $CoFe_2O_4$ and $MnFe_2O_4$, differing from iron oxide Nps in charge, surface chemistry and magnetic properties. This study is focused on the synthesis of manganese ferrite, $MnFe_2O_4$, Nps by most commonly used chemical way pursuing better control of their size, purity and magnetic properties. Co-precipitation syntheses were performed using aqueous alkaline solutions of Mn(II) and Fe(III) salts and NaOH within a wide pH range using various hydrothermal treatment regimes. Different additives, such as citric acid, cysteine, glicine, polyetylene glycol, triethanolamine, chitosan, etc., were tested on purpose to obtain good yield of pure phase and monodispersed Nps with average size of ${\leq}20nm$. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), $M\ddot{o}ssbauer$ spectroscopy down to cryogenic temperatures, magnetic measurements and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry were employed in this study.

The phases and interface formation of MgF2 on Si(111) were studied by using LEED, AES, and TPD. When thick MgF2 film was deposited on the Si(111) surface at RT뭉 annealed at higher temperatures, a sequence of LEED patterns (no LEED pattern $\longrightarrow$1$\times$1$\longrightarrow$3$\times$1$\longrightarrow$7$\times$7) was observed. On the 1$\times$1 model in which Mg adsorbs on T4 site and F on H3 site could explain the simultaneous desorption of SiF2 and Mg. When thin MgF2 film was deposited, and initial $\alpha$-$\times$1 phase transforms to 3$\times$3 and $\beta$-1$\times$1 by thermal annealing with a slow evaporation of F and diffusion of Mg into the surface. the 3$\times$3 surface changes to ${\gamma}$-1$\times$1 by the selective desorptioon of F under e-beam irradiation and subsesquently to a Mg-induced {{{{ SQRT { 3} }}}} structure by annealing at $600^{\circ}C$.
The purpose of this study was to observe characteristic properties through the polarization curves and EMPA images from 4 different types of amalgam obtained by using the potentiostats (EG & G PARC) & EPMA (Jeol JSM-35), to investigate the degree of corrosion of each phase of amalgam on the oxidation peak, and to identify corrosion products from the corroded amalgam by use of X-ray diffractometer(Rigaku). After each amlgam alloy and Hg were triturated as the direction of the manufacturer by means of the mechanical amalgamator(Shofu), the triturated mass was inserted into the cylindrical metal mold which was 12mm in diameter and 10mm in height and was condensed by means of routine manner. The specimen was removed from the mold and stored at room temperature for about 7 days. The standard surface preparation was routinely carried out. Anodic polarization measurement was employed to compare the corrosion behaviours of the amalgams in 0.9% saline solution(pH6.8~7.0) and artificial saliva (pH6.8~7.0) at $37^{\circ}C$. The open circuit potential was determined after 30 minutes' immersion of specimen in electrolyte and the potential scan was begun at the potential of 100mV cathodic from the corrosion potential. The scan rate was 1mV/sec and the surface area of amalgam exposed to the solution was 0.64$cm^2$ for each specimen. All the potentials reported are with respect to a saturated calomel electrode (SCE). EPMA images on the determined oxidation peaks of each amalgam in artificial saliva were observed. X-ray diffraction patterns of each sample were recorded before and after polarization in artificial saliva (Aristaloy, Caulk Spherical, Dispersalloy and Tytin: at +770mV, +585mV, +8.10m V and +680m V respectively) by use of a recording diffractometer. Nickel filtered Cu $K_{{\alpha}_1}$ radiation was used and sample was scanned at $4^{\circ}(2{\theta})/min.$ from $25^{\circ}$ to $80^{\circ}$. The following results were obtained. 1. Oxidation peak potential in artificial saliva shifted to more anodic direction than that in saline solution. 2. The corrosion potential of high copper amalgam was more anodic than the potential of low copper amalgam. 3. The current density was lower in artificial saliva than in saline solution. 4. One of the corrosion products, AgCl was identified by X-ray diffraction analysis. 5. ${\gamma}_2$ phase was the most susceptible to corrosion and e phase was stable in low copper amalgam and ${\eta}$' phase and Ag-Cu eutectic were susceptible to corrosion in high copper amalgam.
As a part of the short-period variability survey (SPVS) at Bohyunsan Optical Astronomy Observatory, we obtained time-series BV CCD images in the region of the open cluster NGC 1039 (M34). The observations were performed for 22 nights from July 29, 2008 to September 26, 2010. We also made LOAO observations for 10 days from September 18, 2009 to October 30, 2010 to confirm the small variabilties of ${\delta}$ Scuti-type variable stars. In this paper we presented the observational properties of 28 variable stars found in the region. They are seven ${\delta}$ Scuti-type variable stars, two ${\gamma}$ Doradus-type variable stars, four-teen eclipsing binary stars and five semi-long periodic or slow irregular variables, respectively. Only three variables were listed in the GCVS and the rest are newly discovered ones. We have performed multiple-frequency analysis to determine pulsation frequencies of the ${\delta}$ Scuti-type and ${\gamma}$ Doradus-type variable stars, using the discrete Fourier transform and linear least-square fitting methods. We also have derived the periods and amplitudes of 12 eclipsing binaries from the phase fitting method, and presented the light curves of all variable stars.

The Mume Fructus (MF) has been used for relieves cough, arrests arrest chronic diarrhea, treat fluid depletion, and treat ascariasis in Korea. In this study, a high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method was established for simultaneous determination of six main components of MF. Additionally, we were investigated the anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects of MF extract on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-treated RAW264.7 cells and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-${\alpha}$/interferon (IFN)-${\gamma}$-treated HaCaT cells. The analytical column for separation was used a Gemini $C_{18}$ column maintained at $40^{\circ}C$. The mobile phase consisted of 1.0% (v/v) acetic acid in water (A) and 1.0% (v/v) acetic acid in acetonitrile (B). The flow rate was 1.0 mL/min and the detector was a photodiode array (PDA) set at 280 nm and 320 nm. We evaluated the inhibitory effect of MF extract on the production of inflammatory markers, nitric oxide (NO) and prostaglandin $E_2$ ($PGE_2$) in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells and thymus- and activation-regulated chemokine (TARC/CCL17) in TNF-${\alpha}$/IFN-${\gamma}$-treated HaCaT cells, respectively. We confirmed the genes expression related with TARC, macrophage-derived chemokine (MDC/CCL22) and regulated on activation, normal T cell expressed and secreted (RANTES/CCL5) in HaCaT keratinocyte cells by MF extract. The contents of the five compounds in MF were 0.22-1.01 mg/g. Also, the MF extract show inhibition of about 78% and 75% on NO and $PGE_2$ production at the concentration 1000 mg/mL in RAW264.7 cells. MF extract suppressed the hTARC level and genes expression such as TARC, MDC, and RANTES on TNF-${\alpha}$/IFN-${\gamma}$-treated HaCaT cells.

Purpose : After planning the Respiratory Gated Radiotherapy for Lung cancer, the movement and volume change of sparing normal structures nearby target are not often considered during dose evaluation. This study carried out 4-D dose evaluation which reflects the movement of normal structures at certain phase of Respiratory Gated Radiotherapy, by using Deformable Image Registration that is well used for Adaptive Radiotherapy. Moreover, the study discussed the need of analysis and established some recommendations, regarding the normal structures's movement and volume change due to Patient's breathing pattern during evaluation of treatment plans. Materials and methods : The subjects were taken from 10 lung cancer patients who received Respiratory Gated Radiotherapy. Using Eclipse(Ver 13.6 Varian, USA), the structures seen in the top phase of CT image was equally set via Propagation or Segmentation Wizard menu, and the structure's movement and volume were analyzed by Center-to Center method. Also, image from each phase and the dose distribution were deformed into top phase CT image, for 4-dimensional dose evaluation, via VELOCITY Program. Also, Using $QUASAR^{TM}$ Phantom(Modus Medical Devices) and $GAFCHROMIC^{TM}$ EBT3 Film(Ashland, USA), verification carried out 4-D dose distribution for 4-D gamma pass rate. Result : The movement of the Inspiration and expiration phase was the most significant in axial direction of right lung, as $0.989{\pm}0.34cm$, and was the least significant in lateral direction of spinal cord, as -0.001 cm. The volume of right lung showed the greatest rate of change as 33.5 %. The maximal and minimal difference in PTV Conformity Index and Homogeneity Index between 3-dimensional dose evaluation and 4-dimensional dose evaluation, was 0.076, 0.021 and 0.011, 0.0 respectfully. The difference of 0.0045~2.76 % was determined in normal structures, using 4-D dose evaluation. 4-D gamma pass rate of every patients passed reference of 95 % gamma pass rate. Conclusion : PTV Conformity Index was more significant in all patients using 4-D dose evaluation, but no significant difference was observed between two dose evaluations for Homogeneity Index. 4-D dose distribution was shown more homogeneous dose compared to 3D dose distribution, by considering the movement from breathing which helps to fill out the PTV margin area. There was difference of 0.004~2.76 % in 4D evaluation of normal structure, and there was significant difference between two evaluation methods in all normal structures, except spinal cord. This study shows that normal structures could be underestimated by 3-D dose evaluation. Therefore, 4-D dose evaluation with Deformable Image Registration will be considered when the dose change is expected in normal structures due to patient's breathing pattern. 4-D dose evaluation with Deformable Image Registration is considered to be a more realistic dose evaluation method by reflecting the movement of normal structures from patient's breathing pattern.
An understanding of the nature of the immune response to asexual erythrocytic stages of malaria parasites will facilitate vaccine development by identifying which responses the vaccine should preferentially induce. The present study examined and compared the immune responses of NIH mice in either single or mixed infections with avirulent (DK) or virulent (DS) strains of Plasmodium chabaudi adami using the ELISA test for detecting and measurement of cytokines and antibody production. In both single and mixed infections, the study showed that both cell- and antibody-mediated responses were activated. In all experiments, an early relatively high level of IFN-$\gamma$ and IgG2a during the acute phase of the infection, and later elevation of IL-4 and IgG1, suggested that there was a sequential Th1/Th2 response. However, in the avirulent DK strain infection a stronger Th1 response was observed compared to the virulent DS strain-infection or in mixed infections. In the virulent DS infection, there was a stronger Th2 response compared to that in the DK and mixed infections. The faster proliferation rate of the virulent DS strain compared to the DK strain was also evident.
Halitosis is mainly caused by the presence of volatile sulfur-containing compounds (VSC's) produced by proteolytic periodontopathic bacteria in the oral cavity. Various mouth-rinses have been offered on the market as solutions to reduce halitosis. The aim of this study was to find a potent substance for the prevention of halitosis. The halitosis prevention substance (HPS) from cumin seed powder was purified by solvent extraction, silica gel column chromatography and preparative TLC to yield an oil phase (0.98%). Instrumental analysis such as FT-IR, $^1H$-NMR and $^{13}C$-NMR showed that HPS contained an -OH group, -HC=CH-, -COO-, and long chain acyl group. HPS was therefore determined to be 2-hydroxyethyl-${\beta}$-undecenate. HPS inhibited the growth of Fusobacterium nucleatum and Porphyromonas gingivalis, by 72.44% and 64.37% at $1{\times}10^{-2}\;M$, and by 99.85% and 91.62% at $5\;{\times}\;10^{-2}\;M$, respectively. It also inhibited the activity of L-methionine-${\alpha}$-deamino-${\gamma}$-mercaptomethane-lyase (METase), which was produced by oral microbes. Furthermore, the VSC production by oral microbes in the human mouth air decreased with increasing HPS concentration. These results suggested that HPS from cumin seed is an efficient halitosis prevention agent.
