Robust algorithm for estimating voltage stability by the modified method of sensitivity index dP/de of real value on voltage vector (전압벡터의 유효분 감도지표 dP/de 수정법에 의한 견고한 전압안정도 평가에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, much attention has been paid to problems which is concerned with voltage instability phenomena and much works on these phenomena have been made. In this paper, by substituting d $P_{k}$ d $e_{k}$ ( $v^{\rarw}$= e +j f) for $P_{k}$ in conventional load flow, direct method for finging the limit of voltage stability is proposed. Here, by using the fact that taylor se- ries expansion in .DELTA. $P_{k}$ and .DELTA. $Q_{k}$ is terminated at the second-order terms, constraint equation (d $P_{k}$ d $e_{k}$ =0) and power flow equations are formulated with new variables .DSLTA. e and .DELTA.f, so partial differentiations for constraint equation are precisely calculated. The fact that iteratively calculated equations are reformulated with new variables .DELTA.e and .DELTA.f means that limit of voltage stability can be traced precisely through recalculation of jacobian matrix at e+.DELTA.e and f+.DELTA.f state. Then, during iterative process divergence may be avoid. Also, as elements of Hessian mat rix are constant, its computations are required only once during iterative process. Convergence Study on Remineralization Effect of fTCP and CPP-ACP using QLF-D (QLF-D를 이용한 fTCP와 CPP-ACP의 재광화 효과에 관한 융합 연구)

  • This study was to evaluate the change of mineral loss of fTCP and CPP-ACP in artificial caries lesions using QLF-D to compare the remineralization effect of recently developed fTCP and CPP-ACP, which is widely used as a remineralization cream in current dental clinics. Bovine specimens used in this study formed the artificial caries lesion immersing in demineralization solution for 10 days and were divided randomly into the following two groups; Group 1- Tooth Mousse containing 10% CPP-ACP, Group 2- Clinpro Tooth Creme containing 950ppm NaF and fTCP. Two tooth paste were applied to the artificial caries lesion of specimens and they were immersed in artificial saliva for 1 week. Mineral loss of artificial caries lesion was evaluated by fluorescence loss (${\Delta}F$) values using QLF-D. QLF-D analysis showed that the ${\Delta}F$ and ${\Delta}Fmax$ value increased 2.65 and 6.63, respectively, in the Tooth Mousse group, and the mineral loss decreased statistically significantly(p<0.05). However, Clinpro Tooth Creme group had no statistically significant difference. ${\Delta}Fmax$ value of Tooth Mousse group was statistically significant difference compared to the Clinpro Tooth Creme. Therefore, the Tooth Mousse containing 10% CPP-ACP is more effective than Clinpro Tooth Creme containing fTCP in the treatment of remineralization of artificial caries lesions.

Relationship Between Frictional Sounds and Mechanical Properties of Vapor Permeable Water Repellent Fabrics for Active Wear (스포츠웨어용 투습발수직물의 마찰음과 역학적 성질 간의 상관성)

  • Frictional sounds of 8 vapor permeable water repellent fabrics by sound generator were recorded and analyzed through FFT fast Fourier transform analysis. The frictional Sounds were quantified by calculating level pressure of total sound(LPT), the level range(${\Delta}L$) and the frequency difference(${\Delta}f$). Mechanical properties were measured by KES-FB. LPT values of specimens finished wet coating were higher than those of other kinds of finishing. ${\Delta}L$ values of specimens laminated were highest. Absolute values of ${\Delta}f$ were high in the cire finished and laminated specimens. Values for bending rigidity, shear stiffness and energy required for the compression of coated specimens increased compared with the cire finished and laminated specimens. Laminated specimens had high values of frictional coefficient and low values of surface roughness. Relationship between frictional sounds and mechanical properties analysed by use of correlation coefficients and stepwise regression. LPT showed significant correlation with elongation, tensile energy, geometrical roughness, weight and thickness. ${\Delta}L$ was highly correlated with tensile linearity, frictional coefficient, and ${\Delta}f$ with tensile linearity, weight and thickness. LPT were revealed to be explained by elongation and weight. ${\Delta}L$were predicted by tensile linearity, and ${\Delta}f$ by tensile linearity and thickness.

Construction of Yeast Strain Suitable for Bioethanol Production by Using Fusion Method (융합법을 이용한 바이오에탄올 생산에 적합한 효모균주의 구축)

  • To construct useful yeast strain for bioethanol production, we improved yeast harboring various phenotypes by using yeast protoplast fusion method. In this study, S. cerevisiae BYK-F11 strain which have ethanol tolerance, thermotolerance and ${\beta}-glucanase$ activity and P. $stipitis{\Delta}ura$ strain which has xylose metabolism pathway were fused by genome shuffling. P. $stipitis{\Delta}ura$ strain was constructed for protoplast fusion by URA3 gene disruption, resulting in uracil auxotroph. By protoplast fusion, several fused cells were selected and BYKPS-F8 strain (fused cell) showing both karyotypes from two parent strains (S. cerevisiae BYK-F11 and P. $stipitis{\Delta}ura$ strain) among 22 fused cells was finally selected. Sequentially, various phenotypes such as ${\beta}-glucanase$ activity, xylose utility, ethanol tolerance, thermotolerance and ethanol productivity were analyzed. The BYKPS-F8 strain obtained ${\beta}-glucanase$ activity from BYK-F11 strain and 1.2 fold increased xylose utility from P. $stipitis{\Delta}ura$ strain. Also, the BYKPS-F8 strain showed thermotolerance at $40^{\circ}C$ and increased ethanol tolerance in medium containing 8% ethanol. In this fused cell, 7.5 g/l ethanol from 20 g/l xylose was produced and the multiple phenotypes were stably remained during long term cultivation (260 hr). It was proved that novel biological system (yeast strains) is easily and efficiently bred by protoplast fusion among yeasts having different genus.

A study on the Fatigue Life Prediction Method of the Spot-welded Lap Joint (점용접이음재의 피로수명 예측기법에 관한 연구)

  • For reasonable fatigue design and estimation of fatigue durability considered fatigue strength and stiffness of the automotive body structure, many fatigue data must be insured according to the shapes, materials, and welding conditions of the spot welded lap joints. However, because it is actually difficult problem, there is need to establish a new method to be able to predict its fatigue life without any additional fatigue tests. Therefore, In order to improve such problems, in this study, the maximum stress function presenting the $\delta\sigma_{1max}―\delta P$ relation was defined form the relation between $\delta\sigma_{1max}-N_f$ and ${\delta}P-N_f$. By using the fatigue data on the IB type spot-welded lap joints previously obtained from the fatigue test results, fatigue life of the spot-welded lap joint previously obtained from the fatigue test results, fatigue life of the spot-welded lap joint having a certain dimension was tried to predict without any additional fatigue tests. And, its result was verified by ${\delta}P-$N_f$ curves. Obtained conclusion are as follows, 1) a maximum stress function considered the relation of the maximum principal stress, fatigue load, and the effects of geometrical factors of the IB type spot-welded lap joint was suggested. 2) the fatigue life predicted by the maximum principal stress function and the relation of $\delta\sigma_{1max}-N_f$ was well agreed with the fatigue life obtained through the actual fatigue test result. 3) the fatigue life of the IB type spot-welded lap joint having a certain dimension is able to be predicted without any additional fatigue tests from the fatigue life prediction method by the maximum principal stress function.

  • In this study, formation process of Ba-ferrite by using molten salt synthesis and its magnetic properties were investigated. Among starting materials, BaC $O_3$was only soluble in the molten salts, but other starting material such as $\delta$-FeOOH or F $e_2$ $O_3$was not soluble even at 105$0^{\circ}C$. It implies that the dissolved $Ba^{2+}$ diffused on surfaces of F $e_2$ $O_3$(or $\delta$-FeOOH), therefore, Ba-ferrtites were formed through surface reaction. However, the magnetic properties of Ba-ferrite prepared by two starting materials (F $e_2$ $O_3$and $\delta$-FeOOH) were not different. On the other hand, compared $\delta$-FeOOH with F $e_2$ $O_3$m, morphologies and dispersibility of Ba-ferrites prepared by using $\delta$-FeOOH were good and Ba-ferrites were obtaioned at lower temperature.

The Effect of Pressure on the $S_F2$ Cleavage Reaction of Tetramethyltin with Iodine (Tetramethyltin과 Iodine의 $S_F2$ 분해반응에 대한 압력의 영향)

  • Ultraviolet spectrophotometric investigation has been carried out on the system of charge-transfer(CT) complex with iodine and tetramethyltin in n-hexane and acetone. From these results, the transient CT absorption spectrum can be observed and the subsequent disappearance of CT absorption spectrum is accompained by the cleavage of tetramethyltin with iodine (iododestannylation). Therefore, the rate constants for the iododestannylation were determined at 10, 25 and 35$^{\circ}C$ up to 1600 bar and the rates of reaction were increased with increasing temperature and pressure. From these rate constants, the values of the activation parameters (${\Delta}V^{\neq}$, ${\Delta}{\beta}^{\neq}$, ${\Delta}H^{\neq}$ and ${\Delta}S^{\neq}$) were obtained and discussed in terms of solvent structure variation of transition state and mechanism from these values. It could postulated that the reaction is followed with S$_F$2 mechanism and weakened S$_F$2 mechanism nature by increasing pressure.

  • In this paper, the author has established the formulae for product of two generalized hypergeometric polynomials by defining the polynomial in the form $$F_n(x)=x^{({\delta}-1)n}{_{p+{\delta}}F_q}\[\array{{\Delta}({\delta},-n),&a_1,&{\cdots}{\cdots},&a_p\\&b_1,&{\cdots}{\cdots},&b_q};\;{\lambda}x^c\]$$, where the symbol ${\Delta}({\delta},-n)$ represents the set of ${\delta}$-parameters: $${\frac{-n}{\delta}},\;{\frac{-n+1}{\delta}},\;{\cdots}{\cdots},\;{\frac{-n+{\delta}-1}{\delta}}$$ and ${\delta}$, n are positive integers. A number of known as well as new results have been also obtained with proper choice of parameters.

  • Linear relationships between thermodynamic parameters, ,${\Delta}{\Delta}H^{\neq}=a{\sigma}+b{\Delta}{\Delta}S^{\neq}$, and $\Delta{\Delta}F^\neq=a\sigma+(b-T)\Delta{\Delta}S^\neq$, which were derived in the previous report have been tested with 57 reactions from literature. Linearities of plots $\Delta{\Delta}H^\neq-a\sigma$ vs. $\Delta{\Delta}S^\neq$ were generally good and the average correlation coefficient was 0.983 and the average of standard deviations from regression lines was 0.11. For 15 out of 57 reactions, Hammett plots were unsatisfactory and most of the reaction did not satisfy the Leffler equation. The general applicability of the new equations has been confirmed by the analysis of each reaction for which existing equations failed to correlate.
