정상 식이 수컷 흰쥐에서 흑삼이 체중 및 지질에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Black Ginseng on Body Weight and Lipid Profiles in Male Rats Fed Normal Diets)

  • Previously we have reported that black ginseng was produced by nine-time repeated steaming 5-year fresh ginsengs at 95${\circ}$C for 3hr in pottery apparatus and drying at 60${\circ}$C for 12${\sim}$36 hr and had an outstanding anticancer activity. This study was designed to examine the ability of black ginseng to suppress body weight gain appetite, and to investigate the effect of black ginseng on lipid profile in male rats fed normal diets. The extract of black ginseng was administered daily for 3 weeks, and the changes of body weight and food intake were measured. After administering the extracts for 3 weeks, the fat weight and serum lipid levels were also measured. Black ginseng persistently suppressed weigh gain and food intake was also reduced, but not significantly; The weight of both epididymal and abdominal fats was decreased In black ginseng-treated rats. Serum triglyceride level in rats administered with black ginseng was also significantly lowered. Therefore, these results reveal that the repeated administration of black ginseng causes a suppression of body weigh gain by decreasing triglyceride level in blood and body fat deposit.

국토 교통 공공데이터 기반 블랙아이스 발생 구간 예측 모델 (Black Ice Formation Prediction Model Based on Public Data in Land, Infrastructure and Transport Domain)

  • 매년 동절기 블랙아이스(Black Ice)로 인한 사고는 빈번하게 발생하고 있으며, 치사율은 다른 교통사고에 비해 매우 높다. 따라서 블랙아이스 발생 구간을 사전에 예측하기 위한 체계화된 방법이 필요하다. 이에 본 논문에서는 이질(heterogeneous)·다형(diverse)의 데이터를 활용한 블랙아이스 발생 구간 예측 모델을 제안한다. 이를 위해 국토 교통 공공데이터와 기상 공공데이터 42종의 12,574,630건을 수집하여, 결측값을 처리하고 정규화하는 등의 전처리 과정을 수행한 뒤 최종 약 60만여 건의 정제 데이터셋을 구축하였다. 수집된 요인들의 상관관계를 분석하여 블랙아이스 예측에 유효한 영향을 주는 21개 요인을 선별, 다양한 학습모델을 조합하는 방법을 통해 블랙아이스 발생 예측 모델을 구현하였다. 이를 통해 개발된 예측 모델은 최종적으로 노선별 블랙아이스 위험지수 도출에 사용되어 블랙아이스 발생 경고 서비스를 위한 사전 연구로 활용될 것이다.

수집재래 검정콩의 종실특성 (Seed Characteristics of Black Soybean Collections in Korea)

  • 양질의 밥밑콩 품종 육성 및 유전자원으로의 활용가능성을 검토하고자 전국에서 수집한 검정콩 965계통을 대상으로 종실의 외형적 특성과 그 분포를 조사한 바 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 수집검정콩 계통의 100립중 전국평균은 28.1g이었으며 도별 변이를 보면 경기도와 경북 수집 계통이 무거웠으며 전북, 전남지역이 가볍게 나타났다. 2. 성숙군별 100립중의 차이는 중, 만숙군에서는 성숙군이 늦을수록 100립중이 무거웠다. 3. 수집검정콩 종실의 입형은 대체로 타원형이었으며 길이:폭:두께 비율의 평균은 1:0.77:0.77이었다. 4. 수집검정콩의 자엽색 분포에서는 72%가 황색자엽이었으며 27%가 녹색자엽이었다.

메탄 플라즈마 분해에 의해 제조된 카본블랙 도전재의 전기화학적 특성에 대한 연구 (An Electrochemical Study on the Carbon Black Conductor Prepared by Plasma Pyrolysis of Methane)

  • 메탄의 플라즈마 열분해 방법에 의해 제조된 카본블랙을 $2\times10^{-2}torr$진공상태에서 $800,\;1300,\;2100^{\circ}C$의 온도로 열처리하여 원시료를 포함하여 물리적$\cdot$화학적 특성이 다른 4개의 시료를 준비하였다. 이 시료들을 리튬이차전지 양극 활물질인 $LiCoO_2$의 도전재로 사용하여 $Li/LiCoO_2$ 반쪽전지를 구성하고 변화된 도전재의 특성에 따른 셀의 전기화학적 특성 차이를 조사하였다 시료를 열처리하였을 때 표면화학그룹이 제거되고 전도도가 높아지면서 도전재로 사용하였을 때 사이클 특성 및 초기 방전용량이 향상되었다. 그러나, $2100^{\circ}C$에서 열처리한 시료를 도전재로 사용한 경우에는 사이클 특성 및 rate capability가 저하되는 것으로 나타났다. 이것은 플라즈마 블랙의 열처리에 의한 구조 변화에 따른 전극 내 분산 특성의 변화가 전도도 특성과 복합적으로 작용하여 제작한 셀의 전기화학적 특성에 영향을 미치기 때문으로 사료된다 열처리 온도가 높아질수록 카본블랙 표면의 관능기가 제거되면서 플라즈마 블랙의 전도도가 증가하였으나, 흑연화의 진행으로 나타난 agglomeration의 증가가 전극 내 분산 특성을 저하시키는 것으로 사료된다 그 결과 $800^{\circ}C$에서 열처리한 시료의 사이클 특성이 가장 우수하였다.

반달가슴곰 서식환경 개선을 위한 지리산 국립공원 파편화 분석 (The Analysis of fragmentation on the Jirisan National Park for the Improvement of Asiatic Black Bear's habitat environment)

  • The Ministry of Environment of Korea has been releasing Asiatic black bears since 2004 at Jirisan National Park. It exceeded the target number of Asiatic black bears in 2018. As of July 2020, in addition to 67 traceable bears, many Asiatic black bears are dispersed outside Jirisan National Park. Jirisan National Park is a very dense place with more than 3 million visitors every year. In this study, the roads and trails through Jirisan National Park were considered to be the main dispersion factors of Asiatic black bears, and the fragmentation analysis was conducted. As of July 2017, the length of roads and trails in Jirisan National Park was 363.4km. Based on this, Jirisan National Park was fragmented into 163 patches. There is only one place that maintains a single area of more than 50㎢ that is suitable for large mammals to inhabit, and 141 places are less than 5㎢. There are 6 patches of 24 to 200㎢ area suitable for living of large mammals including Asiatic black bears, in Jirisan National Park. Compared to the announcement made by the Korea National Park Service in 2014, activities of Asiatic black bears were rare in areas below 5㎢ area and the frequency of activities was high in more than 20㎢ area. This shows that human activities in protected areas such as national parks can directly affect the activities of wild animals, including Asiatic black bears. Therefore, efforts should be made to improve the habitat of Asiatic black bears by reducing the pressure of visiting for Jirisan National Park. In addition, as a result of analyzing the fragmentation of the park's natural conservation zone 107.7km, 45% of the trail of Jirisan National Park, was opened, which is more fragmentation than other use zones. The park nature conservation zone accounts for about 32% of the total area of Jirisan National Park, but the average patch area is only 2.93㎢ and seven large shelters are located. Therefore the Asiatic black bears are negatively affected. This is the result of inconsistent national park use zone setting and actual park management. In overseas countries, research is active on the negative effects of human activity on ecosystems in protected areas. However, there is a lack of research of that in Korea. Thus, that research is required for protection area management in the future.

AN ADAPTIVE MULTIGRID TECHNIQUE FOR OPTION PRICING UNDER THE BLACK-SCHOLES MODEL

  • In this paper, we consider the adaptive multigrid method for solving the Black-Scholes equation to improve the efficiency of the option pricing. Adaptive meshing is generally regarded as an indispensable tool because of reduction of the computational costs. The Black-Scholes equation is discretized using a Crank-Nicolson scheme on block-structured adaptively refined rectangular meshes. And the resulting discrete equations are solved by a fast solver such as a multigrid method. Numerical simulations are performed to confirm the efficiency of the adaptive multigrid technique. In particular, through the comparison of computational results on adaptively refined mesh and uniform mesh, we show that adaptively refined mesh solver is superior to a standard method.

Individual Recognition between Siblings of the Young Black-tailed Gull (Larus crassirostris)

  • We had 18 eggs artificially hatched in a mass breeding place of black-tailed gulls and examined the individual recognition between young siblings in a laboratory environment. The results of the experiment showed that the young gulls selectively responded to their siblings and non-siblings at an early stage after hatching. It was shown that they began to recognize the begging call among the voice signals of siblings and non-siblings 15-16 days after hatching, and the chirirah call 11-12 days after hatching. Also, more significant results were shown with the chirirah call than with the begging call. In an experiment of visual recognition between siblings and non-siblings, the young black-tailed gulls approached their siblings significantly 9-10 days after hatching. The recognition between young siblings in a mass breeding place provides an important evolutionary indicator in terms of their social behaviors.

A new record of the subgenus Eusimulium Roubaud from Korea with an updated key to genera and subgenera of Korean black flies(Diptera: Simuliidae)

  • Larvae and pupae of Simulium (Eusimulium) satsumense were collected and recorded from Korea for the first time. Detailed descriptions and photographs of both immatures are provided. Currently, 42 species are known from the subgenus Eusimulium, which is found globally, mainly in the Holarctic Region, but unknown from Korea. Members of the subgenus Eusimulium are morphologically homogeneous in male, female, and pupa, making them extremely difficult to distinguish from one another. S. (E.) satsumense can be distinguished from other Korean black flies by the following combination of the characteristics: Pupa: Gill of four slender filaments, dorsalmost filament strongly divergent from other filaments; cocoon slipper shaped without anterodorsal projection; Larva: Head spots distinctly positive; postgenal cleft short, apically rounded or squared; antenna with proximal segment brown; abdominal segments IX with prominent ventral tubercles; and rectal papillae of three simple lobes. In addition to descriptions for larvae and pupae of the species, a key to genera and subgenera of Simulium of Korean black flies are also provided.

흑삼농축액 첨가수준에 따른 흑삼 청포묵의 품질특성 (Quality Characteristics of Chungpomook using black ginseng extract)

  • 본 연구는 우리나라 고유의 겔상 식품인 청포묵의 기능성을 높이고자 흑삼 농축액을 0, 1, 2, 3, 4% 수준으로 첨가하여 ginsenoside Rg3가 강화된 흑삼 청포묵을 제조하여 품질특성을 평가하였다. 흑삼농축액 첨가수준에 따른 흑삼 청포묵의 pH는 흑삼농축액을 첨가하지 않은 대조군에 비해 흑삼 농축액의 첨가 수준 증가에 따른 유의적인 차이는 나타나지 않았지만, 감소하는 경향을 보였으며 당도는 유의적으로 증가하였다. 색도는 명도(L값)의 경우 흑삼 농축액 첨가비율이 증가할수록 어두워져서 명도값이 유의적으로 감소되었다. 적색도(a값)는 흑삼 농축액 1% 첨가 시 가장 높았으며 2%, 3%, 4%로 첨가비율이 상승할수록 감소되었고 황색도(b값)는 흑삼농축액 첨가비율이 증가할수록 유의적으로 감소되었다. 물성은 흑삼농축액 첨가량이 증가할수록 경도, 검성 및 씸힘성은 유의적으로 감소한 반면에 부착성은 유의적으로 증가하였고, 탄성과 결합성은 유의적 차이가 없었다. 흑삼 청포묵의 맛, 색, 풍미 및 전체적인 기호도에 있어서 흑삼 농축액 3%가 첨가된 시료가 가장 높은 점수를 보여 가장 바람직한 첨가수준으로 보여진다.

Development of Carbon Composite Bipolar Plates for Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries

  • Carbon composite bipolar plates with various carbon black contents were prepared by a compression molding method. The electrical conductivity and electrochemical stability of the bipolar plates have been evaluated. It is found that the electrical conductivity increases with increasing carbon black contents up to 15 wt %. When the carbon black contents are greater than 15 wt %, the electrical conductivity decreases because of a poor compatibility between epoxy resin and carbon black, and a weakening of compaction in the carbon composite bipolar plate. Based on the results, it could be concluded that there are optimum carbon black contents when preparing the carbon composite bipolar plate. Corrosion tests show that the carbon composite bipolar plate with 15 wt % carbon black exhibits better electrochemical stability than a graphite bipolar plate under a highly acidic condition. When the optimized carbon composite bipolar plate is applied to vanadium redox flow cells, the performance of flow cells with the carbon composite bipolar plate is comparable to that of flow cells with the graphite bipolar plate.
