Abstract

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report suturing for patients with lacerations requiring emergency treatment. Methods : A 74-year-old male was diagnosed with a laceration of more than 5cm on the back of his right hand. The laceration area was washed with normal saline, the area around the laceration was disinfected with potadine, and local anesthesia was administered with Bufonis venenum pharmacopuncture solution. The edges of the skin of the laceration area were cleaned up, the margins on both sides were aligned, and simple sutures were performed. After suturing, anti-inflammatory pharmacopuncture solution was mixed with normal saline and the treated area was irrigated. For 7 days, Yeonkyopaedok-san was given, yeolsanggo was applied to the sutured area, and finished with a simple dressing. Results : The sutures were removed 10 days after suturing, and no adverse reactions occurred after suturing. Conclusions : Doctors of Korean medicine are medical professionals who can perform suturing surgery on wounds such as lacerations that require emergency treatment, and it is necessary to actively participate in national health policy in the future.
