Characteristics of Flower Form and Color in Korean Native Calanthe Species

한국(韓國) 자생(自生) 새우난초의 화형(花形) 및 화색(花色)의 특징(特徵)

According to the morphological characteristics of leaves, and flowers, including leaf and flower color, 24 horticultural cultivars of Calanthe discolor and C. striata which were collected from Jaeju island of Korea and cultivated at similar environmental conditions in Taegu from 1995 to 1996 were classified newly. Variation ranges were relatively narrow flower shape and leaf. but wide in other characteristics among cultivars.

새우난초, 금새우난초 그리고 그외 변이(變異)종들의 잎, 꽃잎, 악편, 설판(舌瓣)의 특징들과 화색(花色)의 차이등을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 엽수(葉數)는 2~4장(杖), 엽장(葉長)은 12cm~18cm, 엽폭(葉幅)은 5cm~8cm였다. 꽃잎의 길이는 12.8mm~27.0mm, 넓이는 4.8mm~11.2mm였고 색깔은 자색계통(紫色系統), 황색계통(黃色系統), 홍색계통(紅色系統)으로 나타났다. 악편의 길이는 13.6~28.5mm, 넓이는 6.9mm~11.8mm, 색깔은 자색계통(紫色系統), 황색계통(黃色系統), 홍색계통(紅色系統)으로 나타났다. 설판(舌瓣)의 길이(a)는 5.8mm~12.4mm(b)는 11.8mm~20.5mm, 색깔은 백색계통(白色系統)이 가장 많았다. 새우난초를 화색의 차이에 따라 24계통(系統)으로 분류하였더니 2~11번은 새우란(1)에 가까운 자색계통(紫色系統)이었고 13~15번은 금새우란(2)에 가까운 황색계통(黃色系統)이었으며 16~24번은 새우란과 금새우란의 혼합색인 홍색계통(紅色系統)으로 추정되었다.
