This study was carried out to provide basic data for logical forest management by developing a site index curve reflecting the current growth characteristics of Cryptomeria japonica stands in Korea. The height growth model was developed using the Chapman-Richards, Schumacher, Gompertz, and Weibull algebraic difference equations, which are widely used in growth estimation, for data collected from 119 plots through the 7th National Forest Inventory and stand survey. The Chapman-Richards equation, with the highest model fit, was selected as the best equation for the height growth model, and a site index curve was developed using the guide curve method. To compare the developed site index curve with that on the yield table, paired T-tests with a significance level of 5% were performed. The results indicated that there were no significant differences between the site index curve values at all ages, and the p-value was smaller after the reference age than before. Therefore, the site index curve developed through this study reflects the characteristics of the changing growth environment of C. japonica stands and can be used in accordance with the site index curve on the current yield table. Thus, this information can be considered valuable as basic data for reasonable forest management.
The experimental studies were intended to clarify the effects of leaf yield calculations, and also aimed at estimating the correlations between some characters for the selection of desirable stocks of mulberry trees. The analysis of covariances was the variance components procedures in a replicated trial for the varieties, and also it was used to obtain the genotypic, phenotypic and environmental correlations between the eight characters-branch length, node number, branch diameter, branch number per stock, total branch weight, old branch weight, new shoot and leaf weight, and leaf weight, etc. The results obtained are summarized as follows: Phenotypic, genotypic and environmental covariances are shown in Table 1 and phenotypic correlations, genotypic correlations and environmental correlations are shown in Table 2. Genotypic correlations were slightly higher than the corresponding phenotypic correlations between the characters in the varieties, but the variation in values due to the change of environment appeared between the characters. Genotypic correlations between the leaf yield of mulberry trees and other characters indicated that high leaf yield was genetically correlated with six characters namely branch length, node number, branch number per stock, total branch weight, old branch weight and new shoot weight, etc. It was also observed that lower correlations were appeared between the leaf yield and branch diameter, and branch diameter and other all characters studied in both genotypic and phenotypic correlation coefficients.
This study was conducted to develop a stand growth model and a stand yield table for Eucalyptus pellita and Acacia mangium plantations in Kalimantan, Indonesia. To develop a stand growth model, Weibull robability density function, a diameter class model, was applied in this study. In the development of stand growth model by site index and stand age, a hierarchy is generally required - estimation, recovery and prediction of the diameter class model. A number of grow equations were also involved in each process to estimate diameter, height, basal area, minimum or maximum diameter. To examine whether the grow equations are adequate for Eucalyptus pellita or Acacia mangium plantations, a fitness index was analyzed for each equation. The results showed that fitness indices were ranged from 65 to 89% for Eucalyptus pellita plantations and from 72 to 95% for Acacia mangium plantations. As being highly adequate for the plantations, a stand yield table was developed based on the resulted growth model, and applied to estimate the stand growth with midium site index for 10-year period. The highest annual stand growth of Eucalyptus pellita plantations was estimated to be 21.25 $m^3$/ha, while that of Acacia mangium plantations was 27.5 $m^3$/ha. In terms of annual stand growth, Acacia mangium plantations appeared to be more beneficial than Eucalyptus pellita plantations. Also, to estimate commercial timber volume available from the plantations, an assumption that a log would be cut by 2.7 m in length and the rest of the log would be cut by 1.5m was involved. The commercial timber volume available from Eucalyptus pellita plantations was 68.0 $m^3$/ha, 33% from the total stand volume, 203.2 $m^3$/ha. Also 96.7 $m^3$/ha of commercial timbers were available from Acacia mangium plantations, which was 42% from the 232.9 $m^3$/ha in total. Presenting a good information about the stand growth in Eucalyptus pellita and Acacia mangium plantations, this study might be useful for whom proceeds or considers an abroad plantation for merchantable timber production or carbon credit in tropical regions.
This experiment was performed to characterize the optimum water table level for the grain quality, seed germination and diastic power of barley(var. Olbori) and wheat(var. Grumil). Olbori and Grumil grew in the 550 liter plastic pot that filled with silt loam or sandy loam. During the whole growth period, the underground water level adjusted to be 20, 30, 40, 50 and 70cm. Filled grain ratio and specific gravity were not affected by soil texture and water table. Low level of water table caused the increase of 1,000 grain weight in wheat and barley, but soil texture didn't. Crude protein content tended to be high as the water table level was high, especially in wheat. Change in crude protein content was affected by underground water level more than soil texture. And the affection was slightly higher in sandy loam than silt loam, but the difference was small. The higher level of water table led to the lower crude lipid content in barley and wheat grain. Crude lipid content of both wheat and barley grain grown in sandy loam was higher than those grown in silt loam. As the water table level down, the ash content of barley and wheat grain tend to increase, especially in sandy loam. Wheat flour yield was not affected by soil texture. It was about 65% at 20cm of water level and above 67% at 40cm water level. The seed germination of wheat and barley was more than 95% when the seeds were placed at 2$0^{\circ}C$ for three days. Regardless of soil texture, the lowest germination was seen at 20cm of water table level. And the seed germination rate increased as the underground water level became low. Above 89% of barley grains were germinated within 48 hours except 20cm level of water table in sandy loam. Diastic power of germinated barley was the lowest at 20cm of water table level, and it was almost unchanged below 30cm of water table level. And also it was not affected by soil texture.
Deck plates of ships or offshore structures would make out-of-plane distortion for their thin thickness. These distortions are usually straightened by thermal straightening such as flame heating method. After thermal straightening, the blocks are lifted and moved by cranes to assemble it at dry-dock stage. After this lifting process, out-of-plane deformation again happens frequently. And then, they continuously cause quality and accuracy problems in the final dry-dock process. So, it takes more time for repair and correction working. According to preceding research, the lifting process by cranes would offset the effect on thermal straightening. The target of this study is to develop a methodology analyzing the remaining efficiency of thermal straightening after block lifting. The development was based on the assumption of yield state at straightening region. Therefore the remaining efficiency was obtained by different stiffness slope while lifting & relieving. The efficiency formula was designed using inherent strain, and we made a table of zero-efficiency by cooling speed and class rule's steels. As a result, if the stress orthogonal to straightened line is calculated during lifting analysis by FEA, the efficiency can be obtained linearly to the values in the table. Finally, even optimized carling position can be designed by considering the regional data from series project and welding region on deck.
The experimental studies were intended to clarify the effects leaf yield calculations, and also aimed at estimating the heritabilities on some characters for the selection of desirable stocks of mulberry trees. The method of estimating heritabilities for the eight characters-branch length, node number, branch diameter, branch number per stock, total branch weight, old branch weight, new shoot and leaf weight, and leaf weight, was the variance components procedures in a replicated trial for the varietal lines. The results are summarized as follows: Means, variances and standard errors for the characters are shown in table 1, and the results of variance analyses are also shown in table 2. Heritability values of node number was the highest, and these of branch number per stock was the lowest, and these of other six characters were intermediate values. These all calculated heritability values were higher than anticipated. This was expected since these values, which were the broad sense heritability, contain the variance due to dominance and epistasis in addition to the additive variance.
The magnitudes of wall thrust acting on quay walls can easily vary due to the development of excess pore pressure in backfill. In this research, a new displacement model was proposed to predict the displacement of the wall considering such magnitude variations of the wall thrust. This model is based on Newmark sliding block concept. The magnitude variation of the wall thrust is modelled by varying the magnitude of yield acceleration. The parametric study was performed to analyze the effects of input parameters on the seismic displacement of the wall, and the validity of this model was verified by comparing its predicted displacements with those of Is shaking table tests.

Subsurface Drinage Problems arise from many causes. Flatland tends to be poorly drained, particularly where the subsoil permeability is low. There are many wet areas, however, where there is no evident connection between the area of seepage, or a high water table, and the topography of the site. High water tables may occur where the soil is either slowly or rapidly permeable, where the climate is either humid or arid, and where the land is either sloping or flat. This study is to bring light on subjects relating to increasing yield of crop and possibility of double crops a year in water logging paddy fields. Obtained results are briefly summarized as follows: 1. Effect of crop-yield in the plot A resulted 20.2 percent higher than the ordinary plot with yield of brown rice. 2. Possibility of double-crops a year is investigated. Effect of the barley production of the test plot resulted 168.2 percent higher than the other uplands near test plot with the yield of 1977 production and it is 3.8 percent higher compare with the yearly yields. 3. Decreasing depth of water level was measured 23.9mm per day and 14.3mm per day at the test plot and ordinary plot respectively and the amounts of subsurface drainage measured 30mm to 35mm per day. It is required that the relief well should be controled carefully and adequately. 4. Mean depth of ground water levl was measured 0.4∼0.5m regardless the width of corrugated pipe. It is significantly lowere than the ordinary plot(0.15∼0.20m) 5. The ground temperature of the test plot is higher 1 degree of centigarade or more than the ordinary plot and soil moisture content of the ordinary plot is higher 12.4∼27.8 percent than the plot reversely. There should be a relationship between rising of ground temperature and soil moisture.
A total of CNU 28 hybrids were developed at the CNU Corn Breeding Lab. were evaluated to identify new cultivars in botanical characteristics, fresh yield per 10a and taste qualities. Most of these hybrids were stable in environmental stresses such as lodging, disease and insects. Stem height ranged from 115.0 to 239.3 cm, and ear height ranged from 30.7 to 107.0 cm. The ear height to stem height ratio was showed low than 50% of standard as a stable plant type to lodging. The range of ear length was 14.2 cm to 23.0 cm. Especially, CNU 13H-73 was very longest ear as a 23 cm. The fresh yield per 10a was high in purple of CNU13H-79 hybrid than control hybrid Miheuckchal, and CNU13H-73 in white hybrid was similar Yeonnong check hybrid. The 100-kernel weights in CNU13H-3 and CNU13H-9 hybrids were higher than that of the control hybrid. CNU13H-98 among hybrids had a 100-kernel weight of 20.32 g, which was heavier than that of the control hybrid Daehackchal Gold 1. The average pericarp thickness was $41.4{\mu}m$, CNU13H-46 among hybrids had a very thin pericarp as a $35.5{\mu}m$. The mean sugar content of the used hybrids was 14.95 brix%; CNU13H-73 and CNU13H-55 had higher than Mibak2 as a control hybrid.

Methods such table flow, slump and outflow time have used to be as a main evaluation criteria regards to fluidity of concrete. Since those methods mentioned above have some inaccuracies which are up to its condition of test. Studies that evaluate fluidity applying the rheology has increased its portion in this field. Meanwhile, demands for AAS binder have been increased in accordance with its demand for this market, studies for rheology of AAS binder are little though. Therefore, this paper mainly deals a rheological peculiarity of AAS binder according to its condition of W/B ratio and alkali activators. The fluidity of AAS paste was evaluated with the index of table flow and outflow time. And shear stress following its shear rate was analyzed through rheological test. Rheological parameters were deduced through this rheological test of Bingham model and analyzed its interrelation with fluidity test. As the final outcome, it proposed the interrelation among table flow, yield stress, viscosity and outflow time. In basis of this study, we would like to suggest a reference for mixing AAS mortars and concretes.
