Disclosure Quality and Economic Value Added

  • Purpose - This research investigates the effect of disclosure quality with two main components, reliability and timeliness, on economic value added in Iran. Research design, data, and methodology - The sampling includes 170 Tehran Stock Exchange listed companies from 2008-12. Multiple regression analysis was applied to test the hypotheses and estimates of the coefficients. Firm size and return on assets were the control variables. Results - The results show that timeliness of information has a positive impact on economic value added. We did not find any significant relationship between disclosure quality and reliability of information and economic value added. The regressed model shows that there is no significant association between firm size and economic value added. The results also show that there is a positive association between return on assets and economic value added. Conclusions - Theoretically, timely information is effective in decision-making. This study shows that timeliness of information has positive effect on the creation of economic value added. However, disclosure quality, reliability, and firm size do not effect on economic value added. Companies with greater return on assets produce greater economic value added.

A Study upon Effects of Family Restaurant Consumption Values upon Satisfaction, Reliability and Behavioural Intentions in Korea: Focused on College Students at Metropolitan Area

  • This study investigated effects of five consumption values of family restaurants, that is to say, functional value, economic value, social value, creative value and emotional value, upon consumers'satisfaction and brand reliability, and effects of satisfactions upon brand reliability, and effects of satisfaction and brand reliability upon consumers' behavioral intention to help develop family restaurant industry. Frequency analysis was done. The interviewees had demographic characteristics of gender: 156 men (54.4%) and 131 women (45.6%). The interviewees live in the places: 136 persons (47.4%) in Gyeonggi and Metropolitan area, 57 persons (27.0%) in Gangbuk, Seoul, 38 persons (13.2%) in other areas in Seoul, 34 persons (11.8%) in Gangnam, Seoul, 18 persons (6.3%) in Incheon and 4 persons (1.4%) in other regions. Values of the use of family restaurants, for instance, functional value, economic value, social value, emotional value and rarity value had influence upon satisfaction and brand reliability, had influence upon satisfaction as well as brand reliability. This study investigated consumption values of which consumers thought much, effects of consumption values upon satisfaction and brand reliability, effects of consumer's satisfaction upon brand reliability, and consumer's satisfaction and brand reliability upon behavioral intention, and to verify effects having influence upon local and foreign family restaurant.

대학생의 자녀관에 영향하는 요인 (Factors Influencing the Value of Having Children among University Students)

  • Purpose: This study undertakes to identify factors influencing the perception university students in Korea hold toward having children. Method: A cross-sectional, descriptive study was conducted on 187 university students (79 males and 108 females) from one university located in a metropolitan area. Participating students completed a packet of self-report questionnaires on values concerning gender roles, marriage, family and children along with their personal demographic details. The resulting data were analyzed using t-tests, one-way ANOVA and Pearson's correlation coefficients as well as descriptive statistics. Stepwise multiple regression was performed to identify factors that most influenced the value of children held among university students. Results: The value of having children was negatively associated with the value of family, but positively associated with the value of marriage. In addition, the value of family had a negative relationship with the value of marriage, but a positive relationship with the value of gender role. Stepwise multiple regression found that the equation consisting of gender and value of marriage explained about 42.0% of the variance of the value of having children. Conclusion: Considering the findings from this study, programs promoting the positive values of marriage are required for university students to have positive values toward having children.

레스토랑 이미지, 식음료 가격, 가치와 서비스 품질과의 관계 (The Linkages among Restaurant Image, Food and Beverage Price, Value and Service Quality)

  • The purpose of this study was to measure the effects of service quality mediating the linkage among food and beverage price, restaurant image and value. A total of 273 questionnaires were completed. MANOVA, ANOVA and ANCOVA were used to measure the mediating effect of service quality on the relationships among food and beverage price, restaurant image, and value. The effects of food and beverage price and restaurant image on service quality and value were statistically significant. As expected, when food and beverage price and service quality were regressed on the value, the service quality was significant and the effect of the food and beverage price was reduced. Moreover, when restaurant image and service quality were regressed on the value, the restaurant image and service quality had a significant effects on value. The results demonstrated that service quality played a mediating role in the relationship between food and beverage price and value, and between restaurant image and value.

교육활동의 놀이적 가치 분석을 통한 교육과정의 새로운 의미 탐색 (A Study of a New Meaning of Currere from a Perspective of the Value of Play in Educational Activities)

  • This study attempts to explore the possibility of finding a new meaning of currere through an analysis of the value of play in educational activities. It does three different kinds of works for the purpose. First, it tried to clarify the value of play by analyzing the texts written by Kant, Gadamer, and Huizinga, who had approached a play from philosophical and esthetical perspectives. Second, it analyzed curricular theories established by such scholars as Tyler, Peters, and Dewey in order to clarify the meaning of educational values presupposed by those curricular theories. Third, it examined a possibility of finding a new meaning of currere by emphasizing the value of play in educational activities.Through the study, a researcher finds that the value of play lies in the fun the player experienced while playing and that educational value can be defined in the form of the value of play in an educational setting. If the value of play in education is paid enough attention, currere can carry a new meaning. Currere meant traditionally a course horses should follow, which represents a very conservative view of education whereas currere can now mean a trace in which students are learning for the sake of having a fun. Students are encouraged to study for the sake of having a fun.

Research on Value Creativity of Taiwan's Small and Medium-sized Enterprises

  • This research probes into the execution of small and medium-sized enterprises' value creativities by a difference analysis with different classifications, different capital, different turnover, different employees, and different established years. This study develop a questionnaire about value creativity with five dimensions and thirty-five items according to "Valuation" by McKinsey and Company, Inc. and Copeland et al., such as: "Aspiration and target," "Portfolio management," "Organization design," "Process management," and "Business and individual performance management." The results are as follows: (1) Most small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have executed value creativities; (2) There is a difference in the execution of value creativities between the livelihood industry and the chemical industry; the execution of value creativities by livelihood industry is better than the chemical industry; (3) For value creativities of the execution of different capital and turnover for SMEs, bigger entities are better than smaller ones; (4) For the value creativities of the execution of different numbers of staff in SMEs, those with more staff are better than those with fewer staff; (5) For the value creativities of the execution of different established years for SMEs, those established longer are better than those established shorter.

지각된 품질이 고객가치 및 고객만족에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on Effect of Perceived Quality and Customer Value to Customer Satisfaction)

  • 본 연구는 백화점 상황에서 지각된 품질, 고객가치 차원(실용적 가치와 쾌락적 가치) 및 고객만족간의 관계에 영향을 미치는 관계를 조사하고자 한다. 즉, 지각된 품질은 실용적 가치와 쾌락적 가치 및 고객만족에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 그리고 실용적 가치와 쾌락적 가치가 고객만족에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 조사하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 지각된 품질은 실용적 가치, 쾌락적 가치 및 고객만족에 그리고 실용적 가치와 쾌락적 가치는 고객만족에 통계적으로 유의한 양의 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 백화점 소매상을 위한 시사점을 제공하였으며, 또한 연구의 한계점과 미래연구방향을 제시하였다.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 이론적 실증적 연구를 통해 유통업체 브랜드 가치가 브랜드 신뢰, 브랜드 태도, 브랜드 충성도에 미치는 영향관계를 파악하는데 있다. 특히 외생변수인 브랜드 가치를 감정적 가치, 사회적 가치, 기능적 가치 등으로 유형별로 구분하여 내생변수인 브랜드 신뢰, 브랜드 태도, 브랜드 충성도에 유의적인 영향관계가 있는지를 검증하였다, 그 결과, 사회적 가치를 제외하고 감정적 가치와 기능적 가치가 브랜드 신뢰에 유의적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 브랜드 태도에는 세 가지 유형의 브랜드 가치가 모두 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 브랜드 신뢰는 브랜드태도와 브랜드 충성도에 직접적으로 정(+)의 영향관계가 있을 뿐만 아니라, 브랜드 태도를 거쳐 간접적으로도 브랜드 충성도에 정의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 브랜드 태도는 브랜드 충성도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 이러한 연구 결과를 토대로 브랜드 가치와 관련해서 마케팅 담당자들은 실무적으로 마케팅 전략 수립에 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

가치소비 웨딩문화의 웨딩드레스 디자인 요소 분석 (Analysis on wedding dress design factor align with value consumption wedding culture)

  • Recently people are trying to lead their life with meaning and value, and people are oriented to value consumption as the values they pursue can be realized through consumption. Consumer demand on value consumption had an effect on Korean wedding culture and 'value consumption wedding culture' which emphasizes the value of marriage, is on the rise as a new wedding custom. Accordingly, Korean wedding market is more segmented and diversified for individual customization to create value. Especially, wedding dress evidently reflects the tendency of value consumption as it gives special meaning for brides. As a result, suggestion and development of detailed design elements of wedding dress to meet the various needs of customers are needed. Therefore, this study has the purpose of investigating the required value of wedding dress aligned with the characteristics of value consumption wedding culture through in-depth interviews and how the intrinsic value of consumers is shown up to a particular design element through investigating on the relationships between design elements. In addition, the study provides a direction for specialized and high-valued wedding dress design development by suggesting wedding dress design aligned with the new trend based on the analysis of detailed design elements that reflects the value.

체외순환 개심술에 있어서 혈청유산의 변동에 관한 연구 (A clinical study on changes in serum lactic acid concentrations in open heart surgery under extracorporeal circulation)

  • During the period of August 1983 to February 1984 study has been done on the value of serum lactate at regular intervals before, during and after operation on 30 patients who went through open heart surgery with extracorporeal circulation for congenital or acquired heart diseases at the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, School of Medicine, Hanyang University- The results were as follows: 1.The mean value of serum lactate before the operation was observed to be 28.5 \ulcorner.41 mg/dl. 2.At 10 minutes after the beginning of extracorporeal circulation the mean value of serum lactate showed a rapid increase to 73.24\ulcorner3.61 mg/dl, an increase of 44.74 mg/dl [156.9%] from the pre-operation value. 3.At 40 minutes after the beginning of extracorporeal circulation the mean value of serum lactate was observed to be 78.98\ulcorner1.67 mg/dl which was the highest level. It was an increase of 50.48 mg/dl [177.12%] from the preoperation value. 4.At 70 minutes after the beginning of extracorporeal circulation the mean value of serum lactate was observed to be 64.39\ulcorner9.29 mg/dl, an increase of 35.89 mg/dl [125.9%] from the preoperation value, and at over 100 minutes it was observed to be 68.00\ulcorner5.79 mg/dl, an increase of 39.5 mg/dl [138.5%] from the preoperation value. 5.The mean value of serum lactate immediately after the operation was 61.36\ulcorner6.94 mg/dl, an increase of 32.86 mg/dl [115.2%] from the preoperation value. 7.On the 7th post-operative day the value of serum lactate returned the preoperation value.
