This document illustrates the relationship between the wire rod wrinkle defect and the roll caliber design. The wrinkle defect is caused by the incongruent rolling conditions of the roll caliber design, the roll adjustment, and the extracting temperature. In this document, we restrict the study scope to the roll caliber design's effect on wrinkle defect at the base of real condition of the No.2 Wire Rod mill, POSCO. There has been wrinkle defect problem in the No.2 Wire Rod Mill, POSCO for many years. The engineers of the wire rod mill have been making efforts to solve the problem. As one of the efforts, we take the samples of the wire rod in the each stands of the 2'nd wire rod mill and then analyze the samples. Through the analysis, we find out the problem of the roll caliber design. So, we suggest the roll caliber design method to be more effective to weaken the wrinkle defect.

This study examined the cause of the wrinkle defect which is frequently encountered in wire rod rolling of low carbon steel$(C0.08\~0.13wt.\%)$. Even a small defect on the surface of rolled bars can easily develop into fatal cracks during cold heading process of low carbon steel, and it is therefore necessary to minimize inherent defects on the surface of hot rolled bars. Hot rolling process of low carbon steel was analyzed to identify the cause of the wrinkle defect in conjunction with FE analysis. The integrated analysis revealed that the wrinkle defect initiated in the first stage of rolling, and it was at the billet edge where severe deformation and drastic temperature drop were present. To elucidate the micro-mechanical mechanism of the wrinkle defect, hot compression tests were carried out at various temperatures and strain rates using Gleeble-3800. The surface profile of the each other compressed specimens was compared, and rough surface lines were observed at relatively low temperatures. Those surface defects can develop into wrinkles during multi-pass rolling. To control the wrinkle defect in rolling, it is necessary to design an adequate caliber which can minimize the loss of ductility, and thereby prevent flow localization. To use the result of this study fur other steels, the quantitative measure of the wrinkle defect and flow localization parameter should be proposed.

In metal forming technologies, the stamping process is one of the significant manufacturing processes to produce sheet metal components. It is important to design stamping process which can produce sound products without defect such as fracture and wrinkle. The objective of this study is to propose the feasible formability diagram which denotes the safe region without fracture and wrinkle for effective design of stamping process. To determine the feasible formability diagram, FE-analyses were firstly performed for the combinations of process parameters and then the characteristic values for fracture and wrinkle were estimated from the results of FE-analyses based on forming limit diagram. The characteristic values were extended through training of the artificial neural network. The feasible formability diagram was finally determined for various combinations of process parameters. The stamping process of turret suspension to support suspension module was taken as an example to verify the effectiveness of feasible formability diagram. The results of FE-analyses for process conditions within fracture and wrinkle as well as safe regions were in good agreement with experimental ones.

A wind turbine blade is an important component in wind-power generation, and is generally exposed to harsh environmental conditions. Ultrasonic inspection is mainly used to inspect such blades, but it has been difficult to quantify defect sizes in complicated composite structures. Recently, active infrared thermography has been widely studied for inspecting composite structures, in which thermal energy is applied to an object, and an infrared camera detects the energy emitted from it. In this paper, a calibration method for active optical lock-in thermography is proposed to quantify the size. Inclusion, debonding and wrinkle defects, created in a wind blade for 100 kW wind power generation, were all successfully detected using this method. In particular, a ${\phi}50.0mm$ debonding defect was sized with 98.0% accuracy.

The field of sheet metal forming using press technology has become essential in modern mass production systems. Draw bead is often used to enhance formability. However, optimal draw bead design often requires excessive time and cost due to iterative experimentation and sometimes results in some defects. Given these challenges, there is a need to enhance formability by introducing segmented blank holders without draw beads. In this paper, the feasibility of a localized holding strategy using segmented blank holders is evaluated without the use of draw beads. The possibility for improving the formability was evaluated by utilizing a combination of the forming limit diagram and the wrinkle pattern-based defect indicators. Artificial neural networks were used for predicting defect indicators corresponding to arbitrary input holding forces and the NSGA-II optimization algorithm is used to find optimum blank holder forces yielding better defect indicators than the original process with drawbeads. Using optimum holding forces obtained from the proposed procedure, the stamping process with the segmented blank holders can yield better formability than the conventional process with drawbeads.

Lips have a defect in maintenance of moisture due to their thin layer. As aging progresses, lips lose volume and redness, and become wrinkled. Fat grafting and filler surgery have been used to achieve attractive lips, but little research has been reported to develop better materials to replace the present methods. Recently, a study suggests that the increase of adipocyte number can be enhancing the expansion endogenous fat. In previous study, we identified that the efficacy of Magnolia officinalis bark extract (MOBE) was effective on the induction of adipogenic differentiation. In this study, we confirmed that MOBE enhanced the differentiation of human adipose-derived stem cells on the fat mimic 3D structure built by 3D bioprinting method From further experiments in human, we established a method to quantify the severity of lip wrinkle by measurement of standard deviation of gray value using Image J software. Finally, we found that topical treatment with 1% MOBE formulated lip balm significantly improved the lip wrinkle after using for 12 weeks. In conclusion, these findings suggest that MOBE has great potential, as a cosmetic ingredient, to reduce the lip wrinkle through the effect of promoting adipogenic differentiation.
To reduce automobile parts weight, TWB(tailored welded blank) forming is widely used in panel forming. But products used TWB forming process have many defect, wrinkle, crack and springback. So study of TWB forming process character is very important. In this study one of the current problems of TWB forming was analyzed, especially for the try-out process of inner door panel without frame. A comparison was made between actual measurements and prediction of forming analysis for formability and springback. Also a new analysis die model which have additional plane on die surface was proposed to correct result of forming analysis. This proposed method overcomes the difference for TWB forming result between try-out and analysis.

In sheet metal forming, since the surface area of workpiece is apparently larger than the volume of it, the surface condition of the sheet metal is much varied. The formability of sheet metal is decided by the forming limit and the macroscopic suface defect as like fracture and wrinkle, and microscopic asponent, The factors affected in forming limit are stain herdening exponent, strain-rate scnsitivity exponent, anisotropic coefficient. The increasing of surface roughness is decresed the forming limit curve. It is known that the greater plastic deformation the more surface roughness by Kienzle, Osadaka. The purpose of this study is to investigate the influences of surface roughness in a uniaxial tension and the traperzoidal-shaped box drawing.
Since the 1930's, a rapid development of resin processing has contributed to making our clothing life convenient and rich. Wrinkle considered as the largest defect of cellulose fiber is generated from fixation of molecules which are divided by compression or crookedness. It can be protected by building a bridge between the molecules the joint combination of the inside of the fiber. The formaldehyde reactive resin which is used in processing resin is a chemical compound with more than 2 N-methylol or N-alkoxymethylol group and a chemical compound with N-methylol shows the property of W.W and D.P through the very complex bridge-bonding reaction under the OH group of cellulose and acid catalyst. However, if the processing is excessively carried out, resin-processed textile emits the formaldehyde when the bridge bonding agent reacts to amine type under the acid condition or the formaldehyde remains in the condition of non-reaction or the resin combinates by itself, or the methylol group of non-reactive resin is hydrolyzed due to the insufficient themomagnetic treatment.

It is essential to embed product quality in the design process to win the global competition. Many components found in many products including automobiles and electronic devices are fabricated using sheet metal forming processes. Wrinkle and fracture are two types of defects frequently found in the sheet metal forming process. Reducing such defects is a hard problem as they are affected by many uncontrollable factors. Attempts to solve the problem based on traditional deterministic optimization theories are often led to failures. Furthermore, the wrinkle and fracture are conflicting defects in such a way that reducing one defect leads to increasing the other. Hence, it is a difficult task to reduce both of them at the same time. In this research, a new design method for reducing the rates of conflicting defects under uncontrollable factors is presented by using operating window and a sequential search procedure. A new SN ratio is proposed to overcome the problems of a traditional SN ratio used in the operating window technique. The method is applied to optimizing the robust design of a sheet metal forming process. To show the effectiveness of the proposed method, a comparison is made between the traditional and the proposed methods using simulation software, applied to a design of particular sheet metal forming process problem. The results show that the proposed method always gives a more robust design that is less sensitive to noises than the traditional method.
