본 연구의 목적은 현실, 가상현실에서 시야각 수준을 세분화하여 지각된 거리에 미치는 영향을 규명하는 것이다. 본 연구는 가상현실조건 제시에 현실조건 환경을 모방한 복제품을 사용하여 두 관찰조건을 동등하게 구성하였다. 시야각 조작을 위해 현실조건에서 시야각을 제한하는 안경을 사용하였고, 가상현실조건에서 HMD를 통해 현실과 동등한 방법으로 시야각을 제한함으로써 두 관찰조건에서 시야각 수준을 동일하게 조작하였다. 실험에 참여한 성인 18명은 현실, 가상현실 각 관찰조건에서 머리 움직임을 제한한 후 조건에 따라 상이한 제한된 시야로 대상을 관찰하였다. 이후 참가자들은 정신적으로 대상까지 걷는데 소요된 시간을 측정하는 상상보행 측정방법을 통해 지각된 거리를 보고하였다. 대상은 3 m, 4 m, 5 m 거리에 제시되었으며 각 거리수준마다 3회 반복측정 하였다. 측정한 시간 측정치는 거리로 환산하여 분석에 사용하였다. 실험 결과, 가상현실조건의 거리추정치는 현실조건보다 작았다. 또한 시야각 수준이 감소함에 따라 거리추정치가 감소하였다. 현실조건에서 거리추정치는 시야각 수준에 따라 달라지지 않았다. 그러나 가상현실조건에서 거리추정치는 시야각 수준이 감소함에 따라 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 논의에서 본 실험결과와 시사점, 한계점 및 추후 연구 방향에 대해 제시하였다.

한국인의 전통적 죽음관은 유교, 불교, 도교, 그리고 샤머니즘의 깊은 영향을 받았다. 유교에서는 죽음이 모든 생명이 겪는 자연스러운 운명이며, 죽음을 고민하기보다는 현세의 삶에 충실할 것을, 도교에서는 삶과 죽음이 크게 다르지 않으니 자연에 순응하여 살아갈 것을, 그리고 불교에서는 삶과 죽음이 모두 허상임을 깨달으면 궁극적인 진리에 도달하여 죽음을 극복할 수 있다는 가르침을 배웠다. 이러한 사상들은 한민족 고유의 샤머니즘과 결합하여 현세를 중시하지만 사후세계와 윤회전생을 믿는 태도를 낳기도 하였다. 이러한 모습들은 역사를 통해서 매우 다양한 내러티브들로 나타나며 현대 한국인들이 죽음을 맞는 모습에도 여전히 큰 영향을 미치고 있다.

지능사회의 등장은 급격한 패러다임 변화를 몰고올 것으로 예상된다. 역사상 처음으로 사물이 지능을 갖게 되고, 그 결과 사회의 모든 영역에서 예상치 못한 변화가 초래될 것으로 보인다. 이 글은 지능사회의 변화 방향을 전망하기 위해 우선 세계관의 변화 이슈를 분석하였다. 인간과 자연을 두 축으로 하는 이원적 세계관과 인간-기계-자연으로 이루어진 삼원적 세계관을 비교한 후 '기술이 매개하는 이원적 세계관'을 지능사회의 세계관으로 제안하였다. 이 세계관에 기초하여 지능사회의 패러다임 변화방향을 네 가지로 요약하여 전망하였다. 1. 지능의 외부화, 2. 생산성 폭발, 3. 플랫폼 사회, 4. 자기조직화 사회가 그것이다. 지능기술의 발전으로 인간은 지능증강, 생산능력 제고, 자기조직화 효과 등 다양한 이점을 누리겠지만, 다른 한편으로 기술에 대한 통제력이 약화되어 시스템 실패 가능성도 높아진다. 결론적으로 지능사회의 변화는 가치중립적이기 때문에 인간의 선택과 노력에 따라 유토피아가 될 수도 있고 디스토피아가 될 수도 있다.

Master Jeungsan understood a general view of Pungsu but actually he used the theory of Pungsu in his own religious perspective, transcending it. The theory of Pungsu is different. But the fact that it is premised on the principle of 'in and yang', the five-element principle, the Book of Changes, energy thought, and To chugi piyung, etc. is generally recognized. The three important elements of Pungsu are mountain, water, and direction or man. Pungsu has formal principles such as Gallyongbeop, Jangpungbeop, Deuksubeop, Jeonghyeolbeop, Jwahyangbeop, and Hyeongukron. etc. In the late of Joseon, Jeungsan established a new traditional thought, understanding Bibopungsu, Gukdopungsu, Minganpungsu, etc. However, he reinterpreted them to be suitable to his religious ideal and let his followers understand them as well. In particular, Jeungsan overcame the previous view on earth and expressed a new perspective to enhance earth up to the level of heaven. In the perspective of the traditional world, earth is lower than heaven, but Jeungsan made it a status equal to heaven. He mentioned that in the past, the culture and history of man was influenced by earth's energy but today, at the age of man respect, he put passive man influenced by earth-condition on the more subjective and active status. Even though he mentioned different Pungsu, Hyeongguk, and Hyeolmyeong, he expressed the shape of Pungsu within the construction of three worlds, the one of heaven and earth transcending good or ill luck or a favorable change in fortune. He practised the expedient of Pungsu from the stand of the construction of heaven and earth instead of the usage of Bibopungsu, Gukdopungsu, and Minganpungsu. He diagnosed that the division of the world is caused by the one of earth and tried to solve it. Moreover, he said that Myeongdang(a propitious site) must be the man-orientation rather than the earth-orientation. It means that Pungsu, stressing the energy of earth and turning one's luck, is changing into the world of man-orientation. In other words, Jeungsan diagnosed the world of Pungsu but he ultimately used Pungsu theory in building up his own view of religious world transcending such a theory.

This paper describes a self-localization method for the mobile robot using panoramic view images. A panoramic view image has the information of location of the objects from the viewer robot and direction between the objects at a position. Among the sequence of panoramic view images, the target objects in the image like traffic signs, facade of a building, road signs, etc. locate in the real world so that robot´s position and direction deliver to localize from his view. With the previously captured panoramic images, the method calculates the distance and direction of the region of interest, corresponds the regions between the sequences, and identifies the location in the world. 21st century has different characters from 20th century which was an era of machine and rationality based on the industrial revolution. With the advent of the digital revolution, it became an era of pluralism, culture, and emotion. The digital technology made it possible to connect the whole world together in real time and brought about the entirely new notion of time and space. It also dramatically altered the world view. Now we have a different set of social and cultural values from the past. This paper researched the influences of these social and cultural changes on public designs. The leading trends of public designs were analyzed and the successful cases were studied. The main research methodologies were the document review and the instrumental case study. The major social & cultural paradigms of a present era were classified as 'pluralism', 'digital & information revolution', 'human-centered value (against machine-centered value of 20th century)', and 'organic world view'. Each of the classified paradigms was analyzed more to find out the influences on the various trends of public designs. 'Pluralism' has influence on 'experiential public design', 'community art', and 'public design of local values'. 'Digital & information revolution' has influence on 'content-centered public design', 'smart public design', 'immaterial public design', and 'performance in public design'. 'Human-centered value' has influence on 'universal design approach in public design', and 'emotional public design'. 'Organic world view' has influence on 'sustainable public design', and 'ecological public design'.

인터넷은 사용이 매우 간편한 도구인 월드와이드웹의 등장으로 인하여 가장 독보적이면서도 강력한 지원을 제공하는 세계에서 가장 간편한 네트워크 자원이 되었다. 더 나아가 정적인 2차원을 넘어서 3차원 View 웹 서비스와 같은 동적인 서비스를 제공하는 많은 방법들이 제시되었다. 본 논문에서는 MRI, CT, PET 같은 2차원 의료 영상을 쌓아 만든 3차원 데이터를 웹에서 인터액티브하게 가시화 하는 볼륨 렌더링 View 프로그램을 제시할 것이다. 이를 위해 우리는 COM기술을 바탕으로 하는 ActiveX 컴포넌트인 OCX 컨트롤로 만들어 웹 페이지에서 실현 가능하도록 하였다. 또한 인터넷만 있으면 쉽게 원격에서도 3차원 가시화를 통한 영상 분석을 할 수 있는 기능을 제공하여 질병의 진단에 크게 기여 할 것으로 기대된다.

본 논문은 일제강점기 거국적인 민족운동으로 전개된 3 1운동과 여성독립운동을 세계평화의 시각에 대입하는 데 초점을 두고 있다. 일본에 의해 국권을 상실했던 시기의 거국적인 민족운동으로 전개된 3.1운동은 세계사적 관점에서 보면, 평화운동의 일환이었다. 특히 3 1운동은 민중운동으로서 계층과 지역, 성별의 구분을 넘어선 독립운동이었으며, 그 시대 독립운동이 지향한 독립과 자유에 대해 평화적 견지에서 재해석할 필요가 있다. 첫째, 그 시대가 당면했던 독립의 과제는 시대적 민족적 견지에서의 독립이었으며, 평화운동의 일환이었다. 둘째, 3 1운동에 참여한 여성은 주체의지로 독립운동의 참여자, 실천자로 변화했으며, 독립운동사에서 한 주류로 한국여성독립운동의 맥락을 이어갔다. 셋째, 3 1운동은 국내는 물론 중국, 일본, 러시아, 유럽, 미주 등으로 확산되면서 아시아 약소국이 자유 의지를 발휘하는 데 영향을 주었고, 국내에서는 독립운동의 정신적 저력이 되었다. 이상에서 3 1운동은 세계평화의 관점에서 재인식되어야 하며, 3 1운동과 한국여성독립운동이 평화운동으로 주목받아야 할 것이다.

Thermodynamic principles are described with a new point of view. In present study, the interaction between two systems is focused instead of the behavior of a system in conventional thermodynamics. The state change of a system cannot occur by itself but it is the result of the interaction between systems. However, the interaction itself is also the result of another kind of interaction, the interaction between two interactions. To reconstruct thermodynamics with such a point of view, the reversible world is imagined, in which conservations and measurements are discussed. There exists a conserved quantity for each mode of reversible interaction. The conserved transferring quantity in the interaction between interactions is the effective work, which is supposed to be measurable and conserved in reversible world. Effective work is the primary concepts of energy. It is the key factor to explain measurements, energy conservation and energy dissipation. The concepts developed in reversible world are applied to the real world in which irreversible phenomena may occur. Irreversibility is the result of effective energy dissipation, in which effective work irreversibly changes into entropy. A quantitative relation between the disappearing effective work and the generated entropy is dissipation equation which is given by experiments. A special temperature scale to give a very simple type of the dissipation equation is the absolute temperature scale, which gives the conventional conservation of energy.

An information sharing system, namely World Design View, is developed for browsing product design data on the World Wide Web environment. For the last few years information sharing has been rapidly emerging as an important research issue in the areas of concurrent engineering, product data management, virtual manufacturing, and so on. Since we are mainly concerned with product development, the key information that needs be communicated and shared is product data. The developed system puts the major advantages of STEP, OODB, and VRML together. The STEP standard provides a consistent data exchange format and application interfaces among different CAD/CAM systems. OODB is efficient and effective in dealing with complex data structures often found in engineering applications. Virtual worlds for 3-D product models can be created by VRML which is networked via the global Internet and hyperlinked with WWW. The World Design View system can support for members of virtual design teams, possibly distributed all over the world, to share 3-D shape information quickly and easily.
