Prototype metal hydride chemical heat pump was constructed using $LaNi_{4.7}Al_{0.3}$ for high temperature hydride and $MmNi_{4.15}Fe_{0.65}Al_{0.2}$ for low temperature hydride, and the effects of operating conditions on the performace of heat pump were investigaed to find out the optimum operating condition. Operating variables considered in this work were cycling time, temperature of hot air blown to the high temperature reactor, the amount of hydrogen gas with which the system was charged initially, and the flow rate of air at both reactors. Power of heat pump increases monotonically as $T_h$ increases, and shows maxima at 4.8H/M and 15-25 min in $H_2$ charged and cycling time respectively. Power of heat pump increases as air flow rate increases at low flow rate, but saturates to some value confined by heat flow rate through the hydride bed, These all phenomena can be explained by the modified power equation.
Purpose : Recommended posture according to the location of operating teeth have been standardized in dental clinic to prevent musculoskeletal disorder. However, clinicians do not comply with this rule in many cases. This study investigated the effects of operating posture on cranio-cervical range of motion (CROM) and muscles activity of neck and upper extremity. Methods : Sixteen healthy dental hygiene students were participated. During operating posture (3 recommended and 3 experimental postures which were set front, side, back, respectively), CROM in the fronal and sagittal plane were measured by Cervical Range of Motion Instrument and muscle activities of Sternocleidomastoid, upper trapezius, middle deltoid, extensor carpi radialis, brachioradialis, and abductor pollicis brevis were measured by Pocket EMG system. Result : CROM were significantly decreased in recommended posture in comparison with experimental posture (p<.05). In addition, muscle activity of middle deltoid was significantly decreased in recommended front posture. Moreover, brachioradialis and extensor carpi radialis showed the same result in recommended back posture (p<.05). Conclusion : Recommended posture is close to neutral posture and to reduce muscle fatigue and overuse, which may considered as a preventing musculoskeletal disorder and partially explain its efficacy in dental clinic.
Dimethyl ether (DME) is an attractive fuel as a hydrogen carrier for mobile PEMFC applications. However, its reforming technologies are rarely studied especially by using autothermal reforming (ATR) method. This work explored the impact of operating conditions to the performance of DME ATR. Temperature, Steam to carbon ratio(SCR), Oxygen to carbon ratio(OCR) and Gas hourly space velocity(GHSV) were considered as the operating conditions. As results, conversion efficiency was increased as the temperature increased, but saturated around $700^{\circ}C$. There was no significant effect of SCR on conversion efficiency, but high SCR led reactions in endothermic manner. High OCR substantially suppressed conversion efficiency, but it helped to sustain the temperature by stimulating exothermic reactions. Conversion efficiency was decreased as GHSV increased. The optimized operating conditions was suggested: $700^{\circ}C$, SCR of 1.5, OCR of 0.45 and GHSV below 15000/h and conversion efficiency was ~85% at the conditions.
HT-PEMFC (high temperature polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell) using PA (phosphoric acid) doped PBI (polybenzimidazole) membrane has been researched for extending the lifetime. However, the existing work on durability of HT-PEMFC focuses on identifying degradation causes of lab scale. The short life time of HT-PEMFC is still the problem for its commercialization. In this paper, an operating method to maximize life time of 5kW HT-PEMFC stack are proposed. The proposed method includes major steps such as minimization of OCV (Open Circuit Voltage) exposure, control of the proper stack temperature, and N2 purging for the stack. This long life operating method was based on the fragmentary results of degradation from previous research works. Experimentally, the 5 kW homemade HT-PEMFC stack was operated for a long time based on the proposed method and the stack successfully can operate within the desired degradation rate for the target life time.
Purpose: This study aimed to identify the factors related to the organizational citizenship behavior of nurses in the operating room (OR). These factors include positive psychological capital, perceived organizational culture, and job characteristics. Methods: A descriptive correlational study design was used. A total of 185 OR nurses from nine general and advanced general hospitals across three metropolitan areas in South Korea completed the questionnaires. The questionnaires included items on organizational citizenship behavior, positive psychological capital, organizational culture, and job characteristics. Descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis were conducted using SPSS/WIN 21.0. Results: The mean score for organizational citizenship behavior was 3.62 out of 5. Positive psychological capital, relationship-oriented organizational culture, and feedback on job characteristics were verified as influencing factors of OR nurses' organizational citizenship behaviors. The explanatory power of this regression model was 48.2%. Conclusion: Reinforcement of positive psychological capital of individual OR nurses and organizational efforts to endorse relationship-oriented organizational culture is required. It follows that OR nurses' organizational citizenship behavior can be enhanced based on mutual trust, cohesiveness, and feedback on their work performance.
To develop the port productivity and effictiveness, the introduction of the On Dock Operating System in Pusan Container Terminals has to be considered and the present Off Dock CY be closed step by step. This work aims to evaluate the needed CY area in Pusan Port under the On Dock Operating System. This researching flow is as follows. Firstly, estimate total sea-borne container cargo volumes in Korea and distribute them to all container terminals according to the past trends and the planned port development. Secondly, estimate the average period and the average tiers stored at On Dock CY in case of On Dock Operating System. Thirdly caculate the needed CY Area to handle the distributed container cargo volume under the On Dock Operating System. Finally, the following results are obtained. (1) In 1998, opening the Gamman Terminal, 827 thousands cubic meters are insufficient. (2) In $2001\sim2004$, the insufficiency of needed CY Area will be maximized and estimated to be 936 thousands cubic meters in 2001. (3) In $2005\sim2011$, opening the Gadu Terminal, the insufficiency of needed CY Area will be decreased and estimated to be 240 thousands cubic meters in 2011.

In recent years, wearable sensor devices are reshaping the way people live, work, and play. A wearable sensor device is a computer that is subsumed into the personal space of the user, and is always on, and always accessible. Therefore, among the most salient aspects of a wearable sensor device should be a small form factor, long battery lifetime, and real-time characteristics. Thereby, sophisticated applications of a wearable sensor device use real-time operating systems to guarantee real-time deadlines. The deterministic multi-dimensional task scheduling algorithms are implemented on ARC (Actual Remote Control) with relatively limited hardware resources. ARC is a wearable wristwatch-type remote controller; it can also serve as a universal remote control, for various wearable sensor devices. In the proposed algorithms, there is no limit on the maximum number of task priorities, and the memory requirement can be dramatically reduced. Furthermore, regardless of the number of tasks, the complexity of the time and space of the proposed algorithms is O(1). A valuable contribution of this work is to guarantee real-time deadlines for wearable sensor devices.
Fundamental understanding of vanadium ion transport and the detrimental effects of cross-contamination on vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) performance is critical for developing low-cost, robust, and highly selective proton-conducting membranes for VRFBs. The objective of this work is to examine the effect of conductivity and diffusivity, two key membrane parameters, on long-cycle performance of a VRFB at different operating conditions using a transient 2D multi-component model. This single-channel model combines the transport of vanadium ions, chemical reactions between permeated ions, and electrochemical reactions. It has been discovered that membrane selecting criterion for long cycles depends critically on current density and operating voltage range of the cell. The conducted simulation work is also designed to study the synergistic effects of the membrane properties on dynamics of VRFBs as well as to provide general guidelines for future membrane material development.

The intelligent human-machine interface (HMI) has been developed to enhance the safety and availability of a nuclear power plant by improving operational reliability The key elements of the HMI are the large display panels which present synopsis of the plant status and the compact, digital work stations for the primary operator control and monitoring functions. The work station consists of four consoles such as a dynamic alarm console (DAC), a system information console (SIC), a computerized operating-procedure console (COC), and a safety related information console (SRIC). The DAC provides clean alarm pictures, in which information overlapping is excluded and alarm impacts are discriminated, for quick situation awareness. The SIC covers a normal operation by offering all necessary plant information and control functions. In addition, it is closely linked with the DAC and the COC to automatically display related system information under the request of these consoles. The COC aids the operator with proper emergency operation guidelines so as to shutdown the plant safely, and it also reduces his physical/mental burden by automating the operating procedures. The SRIC continuously displays safety related information to allow the operator to assess the plant status focusing on plant safety. The proposed HMI has been validated and demonstrated with on-line data obtained from the full-scope simulator for Yonggwang Units 1,2.
Diamond turning machines for manufacture of precision optics require deliberate diagnosis to ensure that all the machine elements are properly operating, kinematically, dynamically and thermally, to produce demanded work qualities. One effective way is to directly inspect topographical features of work surfaces that have been carefully generated with prescribed machining conditions intended to exaggerate faulty consequences of any ill-operating machine elements. In this research, a very-large-scale Phase measuring interferometric system that has been developed for years at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology is used to fulfill the metrological requirements fur the surface analysis. A special stitching technique is used to extend the measuring range, which integrates all the patches that are separately sampled over the whole surface while moving the stage. Then, the measured surface profile is analyzed to releated the machine error sources. For this, zernike polynomial fitting is used together with the wavelet filter and the fourier transform. Experimental results showed that the suggested technique in this study is very effective in diagnosing actual diamond turning machines
