A Case Study on the Work Measurement of Hospital Foodservice by the Work Sampling Methodology (워크샘플링(Work Sampling)에 의한 병원급식의 작업측정 사례연구)

  • The purposes of this study were to : a)determine the percentage of labor activities expen-ded in various work functionsof hospital foodservice b)estimate the labor time utilized in each work functions c)investigate the overall work patterns of hospital foodservice and d)provide the basic data for effective labor control This study was conducted in two hospitals with 1300 and 1200 ed capacities and every employees of the dietary department were included in 10days work measurement. Work sampling methodology developed by Donaldson and Ostenso was modified and used for observing overall activities of hospital dietary department. Consistency of data and observa-tion period were verified by 3$\delta$ control chart and control chart. Observed data were satisfied with confidence level of 95% and confidence interval of $\pm$0.05, The results of this study were as follows: 1) The direct work function indirect work function and delay were 74.8%, 9.2%, 16.0% respectively with A hospital and 82.2% 7.2%, 10.6% respectively with B hospital 2) The productivity indices of direct work indirect work and delay were 9.05 min/meal 1.12 min/meal 1.94 min/meal respectively and total 12.11 minutes were utilized per meal served in A hospital and 10.72 min/meal 0.94 min/meal 1.38 min/meal respectively and total 13.04 minutes were utilized per meal served in B hospital 3) Full time equivalent(FTE) utilized in daily work of irect work indirect work and delay were 62.24 men 7.69 men 13.35 men respectively in A hospital and 64.09 men 5.63 men 8.22 men respectively in B hospital. 4) The contents of work activities of each employee group showed that delay time of the service personnel group was more than any other employee groups in both A hospital and B hospital 5) Examination of daily work schedule by time intervals showed that transportation work function was carried out all day so it is necessary to improve this work.

A Study of the Relation Between Self-Esteem and Attitude Toward Household Work and its Satisfaction. (주부의 자아 존중감과 가사 노동에 대한 태도 및 만족도에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relations between housewife's self esteem and attitude toward household work its satisfaction and to find out how independent variables(housewife's age, education level, employment, household work helper, type of family) have effect on the two dependent variables. The measurement of self-esteem was based on the self-concept test standarized by Jung Won Sick, reformed the Fitts measurement for Korean Society. In order to measure of attitude toward household work and its satisfaction, based on the previous research, researcher made the measurement . the research was conducted on 234 housewives in Seoul in September 1984. Data was analyzed by percentage, mean, frequence analysis of variances, Pearson's correlation coefficient. The result can be summarized as following. 1)Over on half of housewives have high self-esteem comparatively. 2) Age and education level were variables to have influence n the attitude toward household work. 3)The attitude toward household work and its satisfaction comparatively were high. 4)Education level and type of family were variables to have influence on the attitude toward household work. Education level, employment and household work helper were variables to have influence on the satisfaction of house hold work. 5) Level of Self-esteem has influence on the attitude toward household work and its satisfaction. The higher level of self-esteem was, the higher becomes the score of the attitude toward house hold work and its satisfaction. Following suggestions can be extracted form the results of above study. 1) research of housewife's self-esteem didn't established a setted theory yet. I think, therefore, it requires deeper study about housewife's household work look upon as her occupation and relation between the household work as her occupation and her self-esteem in this area. 2) Population and sociological variables, used in this study, hardly influenced on self-esteem, the attitude toward household work and its satisfaction. Also the result didn't correspond with one another. So I think it requires need of further study how psychological and family function variables will have influence on housewife's self-esteem, the attitude toward household work and its satisfaction. 3) To recognized the value of household work objectively, many researchers tried to investigate of economical value of household work, But if housewife can realize her self-actualization through household work, it requires the study that try to objectively not only estimate the economic value of household work, but also the contribution of the aspect of family psychology.

Evaluation of the Possession of Measurement and Analytical Instruments in Domestic Work Environment Monitoring Service Providers (II) (국내 작업환경측정기관의 측정 및 분석장비 보유실태에 대한 고찰 (II))

  • Objectives: The aim of this study is to analyze the current status of possession of measurement and analytical instruments at work environment monitoring organizations and their relationships with human resources, including the number of professional engineers and evaluation scores resulting from evaluation programs in 2012. Materials: Data for measurement and analytical instruments were gathered by inspectors who had been assigned by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency(KOSHA) and the Ministry of Employment and Labor(MoEL) during the evaluation program for 2012. Data for 11 monitoring instruments and nice pieces of analytical equipment were collected from 103 organizations. Additional data such as the type of service provides and the number of professional engineers employed were also recorded by the inspectors. Evaluation scores could be acquired from KOSHA. Results: Comprehensive Occupational Health Service Providers showed good operation quality, while University or Hospital Subsidiary and Work Environment Monitoring Organizations recorded relatively poor results. Evaluation scores correlated well with the possession of measurement instruments and human resources for each organization. High yields provided by professional engineers also showed statistically-associated contributions to evaluation scores and monitoring instrument possession. Compared with monitoring instruments, the amount of analytical equipment had little positive impact on organizations' competence. Conclusions: The evaluation results for domestic monitoring organizations revealed that human resources, possession of instruments, and the quality of employees were critical factors for operating the corporations. Each organization should give considerable effort to improving their ability to strengtheninternal quality, resulting in high-yield production for workers and employers by providing improved workplace monitoring services.

The Study for the CMP Automation with Nova Measurement System (NOVA System을 이용한 CMP Automation에 관한 연구)

  • There are several factors causing re-work in CMP process such as improper polish time calculation by operator. removal rate decline of the polisher, unstable in-suit pad conditioning, slurry supply module problem and wafer carrier rotation inconsistancy. And conclusively those fundimental reason for the re-work rate increasement is mainly from the cycle time delay between wafer polish and post measurement. Therefore, Wafer thickness measurement in wet condition could be able to remove those improper process conditions which may happen during the process in comparison with the conventional dried wafer measurement system and it can be able to reduce the CMP process cycle time. CMP scrap reduction by overpolish, re-work rate reduction, thickness control efficiency also can be easily achieved. CMP Equipment manufacturer also trying to develop integrated system which has multi-head & platen, cleaner, pre & post thickness measure and even control the polish time from the calculated removal rate of each polishing head by software. CMP re-work problem such as over & under polish by target thickness may result in the cycle time delay. By reducing those inefficient factors during the process and establish of the automatic process control, CLC system need to be adopted to maximize the process performance. Wafer to Wafer Polish Time Feed Back Control by measuring the wafer right after the polish shorten the polish time calculation for the next wafer and it lead to the perfact Post CMP target thickness control capability. By Monitoring all of the processed the wafer, CMP process will also be stabilize itself.

  • $CO_2$ emission factor for earthwork equipment was made based on fuel consumption quantity using IPCC carbon emission factor. This is presented through the carbon emission estimating guideline each facilities by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transportation in 2011. However, this method has the defect which don't apply the various condition of site. Therefor it needs the new emission factor supplemented these defects. This study will tries to estimate $CO_2$ emission with the direct measurement method using concentration flow velocity measurement (C-FVM) for earth work equipment and present the new $CO_2$ emission factor for earth work equipment after compare with emission factor of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transportation.

Evaluationof Exposure Levels and Detection Rate of Hazardous Factors in the Working Environment, Focused on the Aluminum Die Casting Process in the Automobile Manufacturing Industry (자동차 부품제조 사업장의 유해인자 노출 농도수준 및 검출율 - 알루미늄 다이캐스팅 공정을 중심으로 -)

  • Objectives: This study examines exposure to hazardous substances in the working environment caused by exposure to toxic substances produced in the aluminum die casting process in the automobile manufacturing industry. Materials and Methods: The exposure concentration levels, detection rates and time-trend of 15 hazardous factors in the aluminum die casting process over 10 years(from 2006 to 2016) were used as a database. Results: The study found that hazardous factors in the aluminum die casting process were mostly metals. The rate for detected samples was 70.6%(405 samples), and that for not detected samples was 29.4%. The noise for an eight-hour work shift showed a 49.7% exceedance rate for TLV-TWA. Average noise exposure was 89.0 dB. The maximum exposure level was 105.1 dB. Conclusion: The high numbers of no-detection rates for hazardous substance exposure shows that there is no need to do a work environment measurement. Therefore, alternatives are necessary for improving the efficiency and reliability of the work environment measurement. Moreover, to prevent noise damage, reducing noise sources from automation, shielding, or sound absorbents are necessary.

Robotic Workplace Calibration Using Teaching Data of Work-Piece Fixed in Robotic Workplace for Robot Off-line Programming (로봇 오프라인 프로그래밍을 위한 작업장에 고정된 공작물 교시 정보를 이용한 로봇작업장 보정)

  • The robot calibration has greatly improved the absolute accuracy of the industrial robot. However, the accuracy of the relative positions of robotic tool-tip at work-points on a work-piece is only slightly corrected by the robot calibration since there has been no practical method to eliminate the elements of the setup position errors at a robotic workplace. A robotic workplace calibration is demonstrated in this paper to minimize the relative position errors between a robot tool-tip and the work-point on a work-piece. The existing teaching and playback method has been developed for the robotic workplace calibration. This paper uses the work-piece fixed in a robotic work-place as measurement equipment instead of a special robot measurement equipment for the robotic workplace calibration. The positive effect of the robotic workplace calibration is supported by the results of computer simulation on an ideal robotic workplace model and an experiment at the actual robotic workplace.

Measurement of Physician's Work for Korean Medicine Services Using Analytic Hierarchy Process (계층화 분석법(Analytic Hierarchy Process)을 활용한 한의사 업무량 산출)

  • Background: The resource-based relative value scale has been applied to Korean medicine services as part of the National Health Insurance, yet the proper scoring method for physician's work needs to be developed. Objectives: To measure physician's work for Korean medicine services using Analytical Hierarchy Process(AHP) and to compare results abstracted by AHP with those by Magnitude Estimation method. Methods: We developed the AHP questionnaires for Korean Medicine services and administered it to 12 Korean medicine insurance experts. Weighted scores were calculated and were converted into physician's work scores. Results: In AHP measurement, the physician's work scores for acupuncture activities, especially special acupunctures, far increased, while those for diagnosis and basic consultations decreased. Variations in the scores enlarged. Conclusions: As an alternative, AHP method can be considered for measuring the physician's work for Korean medicine services with careful management of scoring variation.

Analyzing Adult Male Hand Shape for the Development of Work Gloves (작업용 장갑 개발을 위한 성인 남성 손 형태 분석)

  • This study aimed to classify the hand types of adult males aged 20 to 69 years using three-dimensional measurement data from the 2020 8th Korean Anthropometric Survey, the latest measurement data from the National Institute of Standards and Technology Size Korea, and explore the characteristics of each type. Through this, I aimed to draw implications for the development of work gloves. The factors that make up an adult male's hand were categorized into hand and finger thickness factors, palm length factors, and finger length factors. Adult male hands were categorized into four types: small, thin hands and long fingers; thick, long fingers; medium, short hands and fingers; and large, thin, short fingers. The analysis showed that the younger the age, the more slender and long the hands and fingers, and as age increased, hands and fingers became shorter and thicker. Implications for the development of work gloves included the need for size segmentation based on the age of the work glove user, changes in the way glove dimensions are set based on hand length and hand circumference, and the need to segment gloves by the type of work. Hand typing in future research should be done according to occupational groups, and glove patterns should be developed for each type of work based on the results of this study.
