자속 구속형 전류제한기의 사고각에 따른 초기 사고전류 제한 시점 변화분석 (Variations of Initial Fault Current Limiting Instant According to Fault Angles in the Flux-lock Type SFCL)

  • In this paper, we investigated the variations of initial fault current limiting instant according to fault angles in the flux-lock type SFCL. The flux-lock type SFCL consists of the coil 1 and the coil 2 that are wound in parallel each other through an iron core. The operation of the flux-lock type SFCL can be divided into the subtractive polarity winding and the additive polarity winding operations according to the winding directions between the coil 1 and coil 2. The subtractive polarity winding operation could be analyzed with three modes. On the other hand, the additive polarity winding operation could be analyzed with five modes. The variations of initial fault current limiting instant in two winding directions were dependent on the fault angles. It was confirmed from experiment that the fault current limiting instant was getting faster and the magnitude of fault current at the initial fault time was getting higher for higher fault angle.

  • In this paper, a transformer type SFCL (superconducting fault current limiter) using an additional magnetically coupled circuit was suggested. Its transient fault current limiting characteristics, due to the winding direction of additional coupled circuit, were analyzed through fault current limiting tests. The suggested transformer type SFCL was composed of the primary winding, and one secondary winding wound on the same iron core together with an additional magnetically coupled circuit. That circuit consists of the other secondary winding together with the other SC (superconducting) element connected in parallel with its other secondary winding. As one of the effective design parameters to affect the transient fault current of the SFCL, the fault current limiting tests of the suggested SFCL were carried out considering the winding direction of its additional coupled circuit. It was confirmed that, through the analysis on the fault current tests of the SFCL, the quench sequence of two SC elements comprising the suggested SFCL could be adjusted by the winding direction of the additional coupled circuit.

소형화 및 슬림형에 적합한 평면 플라이백 변압기의 최적 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimal Design of Planar Flyback Transformers suitable for Small-size and Low-profile)

  • 본 논문에서는 10W급 Tablet용 AC to DC Adapter의 소형화 및 슬림형에 적합한 평면 Flyback 변압기 최적화 설계에 대해서 나타낸다. 또한 본 논문에서는 수동권선의 기존 양산 Flyback 변압기에 비해 자동권선, Trans 크기 저감 및 누설 인덕턴스(Lk) 저감이 가능한 Hybrid형 사출 권선 변압기와 Drum형 사출 권선 변압기를 제안한다. 특히 본 논문에서 제안한 Drum형 사출 권선 변압기는 Hybrid형 사출 권선 변압기 2차측의 동판 사출 권선 접속 문제를 해결하기 위하여 변압기를 수평으로 눕힌 형태로 구성하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 Hybrid형 사출 권선 변압기와 Drum형 사출 권선 변압기의 1차측과 2차측 권선은 각각 기존 권선과 동판 사출 권선을 사용하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 Hybrid형 사출 권선 변압기와 Drum형 사출권선 변압기에 대해 Maxwell 2D 및 3D Tool을 이용하여 소형화 및 슬림형에 적합한 평면 Flyback 변압기 최적화 설계를 수행하였다.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the current limiting characteristics according to increase of source voltage in the flux-lock type high-Tc superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL). The flux-lock type SFCL consisted of two coils, which were wound in parallel each other through an iron core, and high-Tc superconducting (HTSC) element connected with coil 2 in series. The flux-lock type SFCL has the characteristics better in comparison with the resistive type SFCL because the fault current in the flux-lock type SFCL can be divided into two coils by the inductance ratio of coil 1 and coil 2. The fault current limiting operation of the flux-lock type SFCL can be different due to winding direction of the two coils. The winding method where the decrease of linkage flux between two coils in the accident happens is called the subtractive polarity winding and the winding method in case of the increase of linkage flux is called the additive polarity winding. The fault current limiting experiments according to the source voltage were performed for these two winding methods. Through the comparison and the analysis of the experimental data, we confirmed that the quench time was shorter, irrespective of the winding direction as the source voltage increased and that the fault current and the HTSC's resistance increased as the amplitude of the source voltage increased. The additive polarity winding made the fast quench time and the lower resistance of HTSC element in comparison with the subtractive polarity winding. The fault current of the subtractive polarity winding was larger than that of the additive polarity winding. In conclusion, we found that the additive polarity winding reduced the burden of SFCL because the quench time was shorter and the fault current was smaller than those of the subtractive polarity winding.

High Efficiency Step-Down Flyback Converter Using Coaxial Cable Coupled-Inductor

  • This paper proposes a high efficiency step-down flyback converter using a coaxial-cable coupled-inductor which has a higher primary-secondary flux linkage than sandwich winding transformers. The structure of the two-winding coaxial cable transformer is described, and the coupling coefficient of the coaxial cable transformer and that of a sandwich winding transformer are compared. A circuit model of the proposed transformer is also obtained from the frequency-response curves of the secondary short-circuit and of the secondary open-circuit. Finally, the performance of the proposed transformer is validated by the experimental results from a 35W single-output flyback converter prototype. In addition, the proposed two-winding coaxial transformer is extended to a multiple winding coaxial application. For the performance evaluation of the extended version, 35W multi-output hardware prototype of the DC-DC flyback converter was tested.

  • This paper describes effect of the bending strain of FRP tube for composite bushing with winding tension. The composite bushing can be formed, by adding silicone rubber sheds to a tube of composite materials. The FRP tube is internal insulating part of a composite bushing and is designed to ensure the mechanical characteristics. Generally the properties of FRP tube can be influenced by the winding angle, wall thickness and winding tension. As winding tension is increased glass contents was increased in the range of 70.4~76.6%. In the bending test, winding tension is increased residual displacement was decreased in the range of 14.0~12.2 mm.

  • To apply the superconducting fault current limiter(SFCL) into a power system, the analysis for its recovery characteristics as well as the consideration for its cooperation with other protecting machine such as a circuit breaker is required. The recovery characteristics of the flux-lock type SFCL like its current limiting characteristics are dependent on the winding direction of two coils. In this paper, the experiments of the current limiting and the recovery characteristics of the flux-lock type SFCL with YBCO thin film were performed. From the analysis on the experimental results due to the winding direction of two coils, the limited fault current in case of the additive polarity winding was observed to be lower than that for the case of the subtractive polarity winding. In addition, the recovery time was found to be faster in case of the additive polarity winding compared to the subtractive polarity winding.

  • 복합재료의 성형 공정 중 하나인 Filament Winding 공정에 열가소성 기지재료인 폴리프로필렌(Polypropylene)과 강화섬유인 유리섬유로 이루어진 Commingled Yarn 을 이용한 연구를 수행하였다. 함침 과정을 해석하기 위한 계산모델을 제시하였다. 그리고 위의 모델링을 해석하는 데 필요한 복합재료 내의 온도 분포를 수치해석을 통해 계산하였고 실험을 통해 이를 검증하였다. 온도계산 결과를 함침도 예측에 이용하였다. 모델링을 통해 Filament Winding 공정의 주요 공정 변수를 찾아내었고 제시한 모델을 검증하기 위해 직접 Filament Winding 실험 장치를 제작하여 제품을 생산하고 모델과 비교하였다. 제작된 시편으로부터 함침도를 계산하는 방법을 제시하였다. 그 결과 함침도에 관해서 실험 결과가 모델과 그 경향이 뚜렷이 일치함을 확인하였다.

  • This Paper describes the mathematical modeling and control of the tension and the speed of moving Bio-wrap in a wrap winding machine. In winding process, important control specifications include the regulation of wrap tension and velocity. In this research, a tension and velocity model has been developed for winding processes. A prototype winding system has been constructed, and the controller has been implemented in a real time PC-based environment. The tension control system is modeled a MIMO of the two-input and four-output system. The performance of the modeled system has been evaluated via simulation using MATLAB and experiments.
