In this study, we attempt to synthesize the $Sr_{3}SiO_{5}:Eu$ yellow phosphor by sol-gel technique. Based on the blue emitting diodes as primary light source, white light emitting diodes have been manufactured using the $Sr_{3}SiO_{5}:Eu$ yellow phosphor as the luminescent material. Luminescent efficiency of yellow phosphor as well as that of blue LED is very important factor to enhance the luminescent efficiency of white LED. In order to improve the luminescent efficiency, we have synthesized the $Sr_{3}SiO_{5}:Eu$ phosphor by sol-gel technique. To research optimum condition of gelation reaction, the ratio of $H_{2}O$ to TEOS was fixed as 60:1. When the drying temperature was at $100^{\circ}C$, emission intensity was better than at $70^{\circ}C$. The critical $Eu^{2+}$ concentration was estimated to be about 0.05 mol and sintering temperature at $1300^{\circ}C$ was indicated best emission intensity.

We have fabricated white polymeric light-emitting devices (WPLEDs) from polyfluorene-based (PFO) blue and MEH-PPV polymer blending systems. A device structure of ITO / PEDOT:PSS / Blending polymer / Blue polymer / LiF / Al was employed. This structure of double emission layers results in the significant improvement of white color shift phenomenon. A current efficiency of 4.67 cd/A ($3,900cd/m^2$, 6.4V) and a brightness value of $17,600cd/m^2$ at 9.4 V with (0.34, 0.35) CIE coordinates at 5V and (0.29, 0.29) at 9V were obtained.
We analyze high dispersion emission lines of the symbiotic nova AG Pegasi, observed in 1998, 2001, and 2002. The Hα and Hβ lines show three components, two narrow and one underlying broad line components, but most other lines, such as HI, HeI, and HeII lines, show two blue- and red-shifted components only. A recent study by Lee & Hyung (2018) suggested that the double Gaussian lines emitted from a bipolar conical shell are likely to form Raman scattering lines observed in 1998. In this study, we show that the bipolar cone with an opening angle of 74°, which expands at a velocity of 70 km s-1 along the polar axis of the white dwarf, can accommodate the observed double line profiles in 1998, 2001, and 2002. We conclude that the emission zone of the bipolar conical shell, which formed along the bipolar axis of the white dwarf due to the collimation by the accretion disk, is responsible for the double Gaussian profiles.
High resolution spectroscopy of the yellow symbiotic star AG Draconis is performed with the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope to analyse the line profiles of Raman scattered O VI broad emission features at $6825{\AA}$ and $7082{\AA}$ with a view to investigating the wind accretion process from the mass losing giant to the white dwarf. These two spectral features are formed through inelastic scattering of O $VI{\lambda}{\lambda}32$ and 1038 with atomic hydrogen. We find that these features exhibit double-component profiles with red parts stronger than blue ones with the velocity separation of ~ 60 km s-1 in the O VI velocity space. Monte Carlo simulations for O VI line radiative transfer are performed by assuming that the O VI emission region constitutes a part of the accretion flow around the white dwarf and that Raman O VI features are formed in the neutral part of the slow stellar wind from the giant companion. The overall Raman O VI profiles are reasonably fit with an azimuthally asymmetric accretion flow and the mass loss rate ~ 4 ${\times}$ 10^{-7} M_sun yr^{-1}. We also find that additional bipolar neutral regions moving away with a speed ~ 70 km s^{-1} in the directions perpendicular to the orbital plane provide considerably improved fit to the red wing parts of Raman features.

Single-phase yellow phosphor, $CaGd_{2-x}ZrSc(AlO_4)_3:xCe^{3+}$ ($CGZSA:Ce^{3+}$), possessing cubic symmetry with varied $Ce^{3+}$ concentrations, was synthesized using the solid-state reaction method. The samples were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), excitation spectra, emission spectra, thermal quenching, and decay curves. The cubic phase of $CGZSA:Ce^{3+}$ phosphor was confirmed via XRD analysis. The photoluminescence spectra of $CGZSA:Ce^{3+}$ phosphor demonstrated that the phosphor could be excited at the wavelength of 440 nm; a broad yellow emission band was centered at 541 nm. These results indicate that the phosphors are adequately excited by blue light and have the potential to function as yellow-emitting phosphors for applications in white light-emitting diodes.

For the white UV-LED applications, $Eu^{2+}$-activated calcium aluminium silicate phosphors were synthesized for the first time and the structures and luminescence characteristics of these phosphors were investigated. The phosphors in this study emitted blue. green or blue-green light depending on the starting materials for synthesis. In addition, the structure was also changed when the different starting materials were used. When CaO and $CaCO_3$ was used as a starting material. tetragonal $Ca_2Al_2SiO_7$ was formed and blue-green and pure green light was emitted. respectively. However. in the case of $CaSiO_3$, triclinic $CaAl_2Si2O_8$ was formed and only pure blue emission was detected. The maximum emission intensity was obtained from $CaAl_2Si_2O_8:Eu^{2+}$ phosphors, which intensity was about 1.4 times higher than that of YAG:$Ce^{3+}$ phosphor used for blue LED.
This paper reports that well-balanced white emission with three primary colors can be achieved with a simple white organic light-emitting diode (WOLED) structure of ITO / $\alpha$-NPD (50 nm) / $\alpha$-NPD: Btp2Ir(acac) (8 wt%, 6 nm) / $\alpha$-NPD (5 nm) / BCP (3 nm) / $Alq_3$: C545T (0.5 wt%, 10 nm) / $Alq_3$ (40 nm) / LiF (0.5 nm) / Al (100 nm). The external quantum efficiency of the device reached 3.8% at a current density (luminance) of 4.6 mA/$cm^2$ (310 cd/$m^2$), and the maximal luminance of the device reached 19,000 cd/$m^2$ at 11.5 V. The insignificant blue shift of the emitting color with an increasing current density can be attributed to the narrowing of the exciton formation zone width.
$Ca_3MgSi_2O_8:Eu^{2+}$(x = 0.003, 0.005, 0.007, 0.01, 0.03 mol) white phosphors for Light Emitting Diodes(LED) are synthesized with different concentrations of $Eu^{2+}$ ions using a solid state reaction method. The crystal structures, surface and optical properties of the phosphors are investigated using X-Ray Diffraction(XRD), Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM) and photoluminescence(PL). The X-Ray Diffraction results reveals that the crystal structure of the $Ca_3MgSi_2O_8:Eu^{2+}$ is a monoclinic system. The particle size of $Ca_3MgSi_2O_8:Eu^{2+}$ white phosphors is about $1{\sim}5{\mu}m$, as confirmed by SEM images. The maximum emission spectra of the phosphors are observed at 0.01 mol $Eu^{2+}$ concentration. The decrease in PL intensity in the $Ca_3MgSi_2O_8:Eu^{2+}$ white phosphors with $Eu^{2+}$ concentration is interpreted by concentration quenching. The International Commission on Illumination(CIE) coordinate of 0.01 mol Eu doped $Ca_3MgSi_2O_8$ is X = 0.2136, Y = 0.3771.
$BaMg_2Al_16O_27:Eu,\SrGa_2S_4:Eu$, and ZnCdS:Ag,Cl phosphors were chosen to produce blue, green, and red emissions, respectively, under excitation from a violet light emitting diode (LED). A four-band white LED was obtained by a combination of nonabsorbed violet emission from a violet LED and blue, green, and red emissions from $BaMg_2Al_16O_27:Eu,\SrGa_2S_4:Eu$, and ZnCdS:Ag,Cl phosphors. The luminescent properties of the four-band white LED were also discussed.

We have fabricated organic white light emitting diodes by mixing two colors from very thin rubrene doped and non-doped DPVBi layers. The device structure was ITO/2-TNATA(15 nm)/${\alpha}$-NPD(35 nm)/DPVBi:rubrene(5 nm)/DPVBi(30 nm)/$Alq_{3}(5\;nm)$/BCP(5 nm)/LiF(0.5 nm)/Al(150 nm). The yellow-emitting rubrene of 0.7 wt % was doped into the blue-emitting DPVBi host for the white light. CIE coordinate of the device was (0.31, 0.33) at 8 V. The color coordinates were stable at wide ranges of driving voltages. The luminance was over $1,000\;cd/m^{2}$ at 8 V and increases to $14,500\;cd/m^{2}$ at 12 V. The maximum current efficiency of the device was 8.2 cd/A at $200\;cd/m^{2}$.
