장애인을 위한 의복디자인 (I) -부목 .목발 및 휠체어 사용자를 중심으로- (Clothing for the Handicapped: Brace.Crutch & Wheelchair User)

  • The purpose of my study is to provide some information on clothing for the handicapped with special needs. So I have designed clothes for the handicapped to provide some solutions for their clothing problems. These clothing designs for crutch and wheelchair users were based on solutions proposed by many researchers. The number of handicapped has been increasing gradually for years, especially the physically handicapped. Although they make use of many instruments for ease of movements and other physical conditions, most of the handicapped generally use crutches and wheelchairs. So I designed clothing for the crutch and wheelchair users. In order to ease problems in dressing and undressing, when using the crutch and wheelchair, various physical attributes of clothing should be considered: (1) Selection of fabric, (2) construction and location of the opening, (3) type and location of fastenings, and (4) design of garments for comfort and ease of movement. Clothing should also be able to satisfy psychological needs related to attractive appearance. My designs have proposed seven items of clothing. These include a cape-coat, over-blouse, one-piece dress and an pants for the crutch users. Also, a shirts, pants, and wheelchair wrap for wheelchair users will be displayed.

Design of Case-based Intelligent Wheelchair Monitoring System

  • In this paper, it is aim to implement a wheelchair monitoring system that provides users with customized medical services easily in everyday life, together with mobility guarantee, which is the most basic requirement of the elderly and disabled persons with physical disabilities. The case-based intelligent wheelchair monitoring system proposed in this study is based on a case-based k-NN algorithm, which implements a system for constructing and inferring examples of various biometric and environmental information of wheelchair users as a knowledge database and a monitoring interface for wheelchair users. In order to confirm the usefulness of the case-based k-NN algorithm, the SVM algorithm showed an average accuracy of 84.2% and the average accuracy of the proposed case-based k-NN algorithm was 86.2% And showed higher performance in terms of accuracy. The system implemented in this paper has the advantage of measuring biometric information and data communication regardless of time and place and it can provide customized service of wheelchair user through user friendly interface.

  • In this paper, an omni wheel-based electric wheelchair is proposed that can achieve safe and convenient movement and can improve the convenience of living for mobility-impaired people who cannot move on their own. Generally, mobility-impaired people are afflicted with physical health issues such as pain and secondary body deformities because they often remain seated in wheelchairs for long periods of time. Hence, an electric wheelchair is required whose posture can be changed and whose size can be adjusted according to the user's body type. Such a wheelchair should also facilitate easy change of direction (even in a narrow space) for convenient movement. In this paper, an electric wheelchair featuring omni wheels is proposed that allows posture transformation and facilitates movement in a narrow space. It is believed that the proposed wheelchair can aid in enhancing the convenience of living for mobility-impaired people.

휠체어 추진속도 및 등받이 경사각도에 따른 둔부 압력 변화 특성 (Characteristics of the Buttock Interface Pressure According to Wheelchair Propulsion Speed and Various Back Reclined Seating Position)

  • Pressure ulcers are serious complications of tissue damage that can develop in patients with diminished pain sensation and diminished mobility. Pressure ulcers can result in irreversible tissue damage caused by ischemia resulting from external loading. There are many intrinsic and extrinsic contributors to the problem, including interface tissue pressure, shear, temperature, moisture, hygiene, nutrition, tissue tolerance, sensory and motor dysfunction, disease and infection, posture, and body support systems. The purposes of this study were to investigate the relationship between buttock interface pressure and seating position, wheelchair propulsion speed. Seated-interface pressure was measured using the Force Sensing Array pressure mapping system. Twenty subjects propelled wheelchair handrim on a motor-driven treadmill at different velocities (40, 60, 80 m/min) and seating position used recline ($100^{\circ}$, $110^{\circ}$, $120^{\circ}$) with a wheelchair simulator. Interface pressure consists of average (mean of the pressure sensor values) and maximum pressure (highest individual sensor value). The results of this study were as follows; No significant correlation in maximum/average pressure was found between a static position and a 40 m/min wheelchair propulsion (p>.05). However, a significant increase in maximum/average pressure were identified between conditions of a static position and 60 m/min, and 80 m/min wheelchair propulsion (p<.05). No significant correlation in maximum pressure were found between a $90^{\circ}$ recline (neutral position) and a $100^{\circ}$, $110^{\circ}$, or $120^{\circ}$ recline of the wheelchair back (p>.05). No significant difference in average pressure was found between conditions of a $90^{\circ}$ recline and both a $100^{\circ}$ and $110^{\circ}$ recline of wheelchair back. However, a significant reduction in average pressure was identified between conditions of a $90^{\circ}$ and $120^{\circ}$ recline of wheelchair back (p<.05). This study has shown some interesting results that reclining the seat by $120^{\circ}$ reduced average interface pressure, including the reduction or prevention in edema. And interface pressure was greater during dynamic wheelchair propulsion compared with static seating. Therefore, the optimal seating position and seating system ought to provide postural control and pressure relief. We need an education on optimal seating position and a suitable propulsion speeds for wheelchair users.

노인 환자들의 휠체어 사용 실태와 만족도 조사 연구 (Wheelchair Usage and Satisfaction Survey of Elderly Patients)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 노인환자들을 대상으로 기본 정보, 휠체어 사용 시 문제점, 휠체어 사용 만족도와 관련된 사용실태 및 요구사항을 조사하여 노인 환자의 휠체어 사용 시 문제점과 어려움을 파악하고, 결과를 토대로 노인 환자의 올바른 휠체어 사용을 위한 대안을 제시하고자 함이었다. 설문지를 통해 조사를 실시하였으며, 설문지는 구현모 등(2005)이 개발한 장애인 휠체어 사용에 대한 설문지와 Quebec User Evaluation of Satisfaction with assistive Technology 2.0을 수정, 보완하여 구성하였다. 150부의 설문지 중 120부를 회수하였으며, 이 중 1부를 제외한 119부에 대한 빈도분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과 신체적 손상에서 관절통증을 호소하는 경우가 가장 많았고 휠체어 사용 시 불편함을 느끼는 부위는 허리, 골반 부위가 경우가 많았으며, 휠체어 사용 시 불편함을 느끼는 상황은 경사 이동 시 불편함을 느끼는 경우가 가장 많았다. 대상자의 휠체어 사용 만족도는 다양한 면에서 사용자들이 '보통'으로 응답했다. 휠체어 조작 능력에서는 수동휠체어의 경우 공통적으로 휠리, 층 오르고 내리기, 턱 통과하기에서 어려움을 느끼고 있었으며, 전통휠체어의 경우 틸트와 디클라인 사용, 모터 분리와 조립, 배터리와 충전기 사용에 어려움을 느끼고 있었다. 이러한 분석 결과를 바탕으로 노인환자의 관절 통증을 줄이고 허리와 골반 부위의 불편함을 줄일 수 있고 경사 이동 시 수월한 휠체어의 디자인 및 외형을 갖출 필요가 있다는 것을 알 수 있다. 추후 휠체어 사용 시 노인 환자들이 느끼는 불편함을 줄이고 만족도를 높일 수 있도록 정기적인 실태조사가 필요할 것으로 생각된다.

  • Facilities for disabled person are currently required for rolling stock and its requirements are increased. Researching and development to meet these requirements must be necessary. One of them, ramp between platform and train for wheelchair user was developed and applied in real project, the case is described as per the result. The main contents of this paper is for double leaves type wheelchair ramp development operated by manual. This ramp is fixed at floor area of interior with locking device. So operating is allowed for authorized person only. Beside of this, brief comparison with other types will be mentioned.

  • In this paper, we applied composite material of high specific stiffness and strength to the fabrication of a folding wheelchair frame for the replacement of conventional metal wheelchair frames. A one-body composite frame was designed and the finite element analysis was performed on this design. Some specimens of joint parts were manufactured and strength test was done. With the results of analysis and test, some modification was done and a prototype was produced.

한국형 휠체어 탑승 고속버스에 대한 사용성 연구 (The Usability Study on Korea Express Bus with Wheelchair Access)

  • 본 연구에서는 휠체어 사용 장애인을 대상으로 한국형 휠체어 탑승 가능한 고속버스의 사용성 평가를 수행하여 휠체어 탑승 시스템에 대한 효과성, 효율성, 만족도에 대해 알아보았다. 지역사회에서 생활하는 수동휠체어 사용자 11명, 전동휠체어 사용자 9명을 모집하여 휠체어 탑승 버스 승차하기, 휠체어로 내부에서 이동하기, 휠체어 탑승 버스 하차하기의 3가지 시나리오를 이용하여 사용성 평가를 수행하였다. 효과성은 과제 성공 여부로 측정하였으며, 효율성은 과제의 난이도와 수행의 노력도, 만족도는 제품에 대한 수용도와 전반적인 시스템 사용도 지표를 이용하여 측정하였다. 연구결과, 휠체어 사용자 20명은 3가지 시나리오 수행을 완료하였으며, 효율성에서 난이도 측정결과0.33점(적당하다)과 1.36점(조금쉽다) 사이에 분포 하였다. 수행의 노력도는 8.36점(전혀 힘들지 않음)부터 11.78점(가벼움)으로 측정되었다. 만족도에서 수용도는 1.00점(조금은 받아들일 수 있다)부터 2점(받아들일 수 있다) 사이에 분포하였으며, 전반적인 시스템 사용도는 수동휠체어가 70.7점으로 C등급의 수용가능한 경계선의 시스템으로 측정되었고, 전동휠체어는 73.1점으로 B등급으로 측정되었다. 본 연구는 국내에서 개발된 한국형 휠체어 탑승 고속버스에 대하여 휠체어 사용 장애인을 대상으로 사용성 연구를 수행함으로써 장애인의 대중교통 접근성과 이동성 확보 및 연구 방법에 대한 기초적인 근거를 제공했다는 점에서 학술적 의의를 가진다. 추후에는 사용성에 대한 근거 수준의 질적 향상을 위해 다수의 연구 참여자와 다양한 휠체어 종류를 통한 연구가 진행되어야 할 것으로 사료된다.

모바일 디바이스 환경 기반의 NFC를 이용한 사용자 맞춤형 전동 휠체어 제어 시스템 연구 (Research of Customized Electric Wheelchair Control System using NFC on Mobile Device Environment)

  • 본 논문에서는 스마트 모바일 장치 및 NFC(Near Field Communication)를 이용하여 전동 휠체어를 쉽게 제어할 수 있는 시스템을 제안하고자 한다. 이 시스템은 기존 연구에서 진행하고 있는 전동 휠체어를 제어하기 위해 모바일 디바이스에 있는 Bluetooth통신 이용하여 휠체어 제어용 통합보드와 통신한다. 스마트 모바일 장치는 휠체어 제어용 통합보드에서 발생하는 신호를 실시간으로 체크하여 사용자가 휠체어의 상태를 쉽게 모니터링 할 수 있도록 한다. 사용자는 스마트 모바일 장치를 이용하여 휠체어를 쉽게 제어할 수 있으며, 개인의 상태에 맞게 언제든지 설정하여 사용할 수 있다. 제어는 HEX형식으로 하드웨어에서 신호를 바로 읽고 분석할 수 있도록 제작되었으며, 사용자에 맞춘 설정내용은 일반적으로 사용하는 버스카드(NFC)를 이용하여 등록, 저장과 설정한 내용을 읽어서 시스템에 적용할 수 있도록 하였다. 이 시스템을 적용함으로써 휠체어 중심의 보조기구가 아닌 사람중심의 보조기구로 장애인 및 노인들에게 편의와 안정성을 제공해 줄 수 있을 것이다.

휠체어를 사용하는 성인 남성의 체형분류 (Classification of body types of male wheelchair users)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the physical characteristic of the wheelchair users by directly measuring the disabled men who use a wheelchair and to classify body types. The subjects were 178 male wheelchair users 20-69 years range of age. The results of this study were as follows. The cause of disability was classified into four groups; Poliomyelitis(P), Spinal Cord Injury(S), Cerebral Palsy(C), Amputee(A). There was a remarkable difference in the physical characteristic of the wheelchair users due to their cause of disability. A have greater values in all the dimensions. P have the largest drop values and smaller values in the lower body dimensions. S have greater values in the height of upper body trunk, back interscye length, and chest circumference, whereas smaller values in waist front length and thigh circumference. C have smaller values in most body dimensions except circumference of lower limb. By the factor analysis on the anthropometric data came out the result to be eight factors. The result of cluster analysis using factor scores shows the body types of wheelchair users can be divided into four body types; PY, RBB, TBP, RA. PY type is short and has the largest drop values, whereas RBB type tends to have the smallest drop values. TBP type is tall and the torso tends to be larger than those of the other types. RA type has smaller values in front body dimensions and moderate values in other dimensions. The diversity in body types should be considered among the wheelchair users.
