Temporal and spatial variabilities of chlorophyll a (Chl-a) in the northern East China Sea (ECS) are described, using both 8-day composite images of the SeaWiFS (Sea-viewing Wide Field-of-view Sensor) and in-situ data investigated in August and September during 2000-2005. Ocean color imagery showed that Chl-a concentrations on the continental shelf within the 50 m depth in the ECS were above 10 times higher than those of the Kuroshio area throughout the year. Higher concentrations (above $5mg/m^3$) of yearly mean Chl-a were observed along the western part of the shelf near the coast of China. The standard deviation also showed the characteristics of the spatial variability near $122-124^{\circ}E$, where the western region of the East China Sea was grater than that of the eastern region. Particularly the significant concentration of Chl-a, up to $9mg/m^3$, was found at the western part of $125^{\circ}E$ in the in-situ data of 2002. The higher Chl-a concentrations of in-situ data were consistent with low salinity waters of below 30 psu. It means that there were the close relationship between the horizontal distribution of Chl-a and low salinity water.

애니메이션은 창작된 인공적 이미지들로 구성된다. 그러므로 캐릭터를 비롯한 주요 이미지들의 유형을 분석하여 그 의미를 밝히는 일은 애니메이션을 이해하기 위한 중요한 요소일 것이다. 이에 본 연구는 미야자키 하야오의 작품에 등장하는 이미지들의 분석에 '혼종성'이라는 문제를 대입시켜, 캐릭터 배경 메카닉의 이미지들이 어떠한 형태로 표현되고 있으며, 더 나아가 그 이미지들이 어떠한 상징적 의미들을 생산하며 작동하는지에 대해 분석하였다. 연구 범위로 선정된 작품들에 나타난 주요 이미지들은 이야기의 전개 속에서 '과거 현재 미래', '동양과 서양', '실재와 가상', '인간과 동물' 등이 다채롭게 혼합, 혼성된 형태로 나타난다는 양식적 유사성을 확인할 수 있었다. 이를 통해 미야자키 하야오는 관객들에게 유희적인 측면에서 신선한 즐거움을 제공함은 물론, 더 나아가 단순한 재미 이상의 사상적 메시지와 세계관을 함께 전달하는 전략으로 '시각적 혼종성'을 작품에 활용하였으며, 이는 다른 감독들의 작품과 차별화 될 수 있는 중요한 요소임을 확인할 수 있다.

한 시대나 사회의 얼굴매력에 대한 관점을 영화배우 등 인기연예인의 얼굴분석을 통해 알 수 있다는 가정 하에 물리적 특징에 기반 한 한국 및 외국 연예인 얼굴의 교차 문화적 특징 및 추세를 알아보았다. 얼굴인상감성모형을 이용하여 각 연예인얼굴의 물리적 특징을 측정하고 얼굴유형을 분류하였다. 분석대상은 한국의 여자연예인 152명, 남자연예인 106명, 외국 여자연예인 115명과 남자연예인 85명으로 총 629명이었다. 교차문화적인 분석에서 동서양의 여자 연예인 얼굴에서 나타난 공통적인 특징은 앳된 인상이었다. 앳된 얼굴은 서양 남자연예인에게서도 두드러진 것으로 나타났으나 동양의 남자연예인에게서는 그러한 특징이 나타나지 않았다.

This study is on the esthetic characteristics of Christian Lacroix's haute couture works. The materials for the study are the precedent studies, the related literature, and the photographs of the works and the interview articles in fashion journal at home and abroad. The result of this study were finds three esthetic characteristics in his works and fashion philosophy; historic, ethnic, and hybrid sense. First, the historic sense, Christian Lacroix's biggest characteristic, is influenced by his major studies, but is not a revival from the past itself but a new characteristic based on borrowing and reinterpreting the images created by introducing and compromising the historic elements. Second, the ethnic sense is influenced by the growing background in his childhood and can be characterized as compromise among the multi-national design features. It is certified by the contrasting images, styles, expressions, materials, ornament elements, and so forth with the worldwide ethnic senses centered by the southern France and Spain. Third, the hybrid sense as the essential characteristic shows the uniqueness in his design by not only combining the modern materials, technologies, and futuristic emotion but also liberally compromising and associating the emotions based on a mixture among the follows; the historic representative styles, the foreign materials, the diversity between the Eastern and Western culture, and all elements, details, trimmings In the fashion design.

Reason for contemporary ethnic-look's remarkable world popularity is viewed as due to counteraction of disordered world conditions such as war, terror, and economic depression. These conditions led people to desire the returning to primitive human society where freedom and peace are preserved. The background of ethnic look emergence is influences of post-modernism, eastern and western culture hybrid, and ecology. This study will mainly focus on the analysis of present ethnic fashion trend and, with following to this, their images will be analyzed and categorized. The result of ethnic trend, especially that of Asian's and African's, from 2000 to 2005 is like this: representative Asian ethnic fashion tendency is focusing on Japanese and Chinese. In Japanese style, oversized silhouette was derived by Kimono and wide belt was appeared by influence of Kimono's Obi. Chinese ethic style are analyzed as adapting feministic silhouette and details from Chinese traditional clothes, Chipao. Additionally, in some of the Chinese ethnic-look, there are mixtures with Japanese, North American, and African's images. Mixing with pop images and ancient ones are also emerged. In the African ethnic look, people used colorful cloth and new materials which is considered as integration of primitives and modern science. From the study, it is possible to conclude that current modern ethnic fashion can be defined as blends with one country's image to the other, mixture with new technology, and acceptance to the multi-national folk fashion. These trends are widely revealed and extended in the world fashion. In the following result of the analysis, there were four outstanding images lying underneath in the present ethnic-look. That is eclectic, traditional, natural, and mysterious images.

동해의 주요 어장이고 레저 관광과 동해 해양환경 연구 등에서 매우 중요한 역할을 하고 있는 후포퇴 왕돌초 주변해역에 대한 정밀해저지형을 분석하고, 해저면 영상 자료 및 퇴적물 입도 결과를 이용하여 해저면 특성을 분류하였다. 후포퇴는 동해의 해안선과 평행하게 나타나며 가장 수심이 얕은 지역은 후포항 동쪽에 위치하고 있는 왕돌초 지역이다. 이 왕돌초는 셋잠(북쪽), 중간잠(중간), 맞잠(남쪽)이라는 3개의 봉우리로 구성되어 있다. 세 개의 봉우리 중 가장 수심이 낮은 지역은 중간잠으로 약 6 m의 가장 얕은 수심을 보이고, 북쪽의 셋잠은 약 8 m, 남쪽의 맞잠은 약 9 m의 수심에서 가장 얕은 지역이 나타난다. 왕돌초의 세 봉우리 주변으로는 얕은 해저지형을 보이며 복잡한 지형 기복과 많은 암반들이 산재한다. 그 암반들 사이 및 북동쪽의 평탄면과 급경사면의 서쪽 주변부로는 모래질자갈/자갈질모래 등의 비교적 굵은 조립질 퇴적물이 관측된다. 왕돌초 서쪽으로는 불규칙한 지형보다는 지형 기복이 감소하고 급격한 경사면이 존재하며 후포분지와 연결되는데 이 후포분지 지역은 니질/실트질 모래류의 퇴적물이 나타난다. 왕돌초 주변의 정밀해저지형과 해저면 특성 분석자료는 향후 왕돌초 해역의 해양환경연구 및 생태계의 지속적 이용을 위한 관리에 기여할 것으로 판단된다.

이 연구에서는 월별 AVHRR-NDVI 합성자료와 벡터 자료와 통계 자료를 이용하여 아시아 지역의 각 국가별 토지피복 변화패턴을 분석하였다. 특히, 지표 식물에 대한 인간의 영향에 중점을 두고 NDVI의 변화를 분석하였다. 각 국가별 연평균 변화를 고찰한 결과, 고위도 지역과 중국 동부의 일부 지역과 북서 인도지역에서 NDVI의 증가 경향이 나타났다. NDVI의 감소 경향은 일본과 한국과 중국 동남부의 일부지역과 베트남과 라오스와 캄보디아와 태국과 미얀마와 인도 남서 및 동부의 일부 지역에서 나타났다. 이러한 토지피복 변화 패턴은 인간의 활동을 반영하는 사회경제적 지표들과 크게 일치하였으며, NDVI의 변화 추세는 삼림지역 변화추세와 매우 높은 상관관계를 보였다. 또한, 다중회귀분석 결과 NDVI 변화는 삼림지역의 변화와 인구변화에 민감함을 보였다.

한 시대나 사회의 얼굴매력에 대한 관점을 영화배우 등 인기연예인의 얼굴분석을 통해 알 수 있다는 가정 하에 물리적 특징에 기반 한 한국 및 외국 연예인 얼굴 의 교차 문화적 특징 및 추세를 알아보았다. 얼굴인상감성모형을 이용하여 각 연예인얼굴의 물리적 특징을 측정하고 얼굴유형을 분류하였다. 분석대상은 한국의 여자연예인 47명, 남자연예인 47명, 외국 여자연예인 116명과 남자연예인 87명으로 총 297명이었다. 교차문화적인 분석에서 나타난 한국과 외국의 남녀 연예인 얼굴의 공통적인 특징은 날카로운 인상이었다.

Thermal infrared images of Landsat-5 TM and Landsat-7 ETM+ sensors have been unrivalled sources of high resolution thermal remote sensing (60m for ETM+, 120m for TM) for more than two decades. Atmospheric effect that degrades the accuracy of Sea Surface Temperature (SST) measurement significantly, however, can not be corrected as the sensors have only one thermal channel. Recently, MODIS sensor onboard Terra satellite is equipped with dual-thermal channels (31 and 32) of which the difference of at-satellite brightness temperature can provide atmospheric correction with 1km resolution. In this study we corrected the atmospheric effect of Landsat SST by using MODIS data obtained almost simultaneously. As a case study, we produced the Landsat SST near the eastern and western coast of Korea. Then we have obtained Terra/MODIS image of the same area taken approximately 30 minutes later. Atmospheric correction term was calculated by the difference between the MODIS SST (Level 2) and the SST calculated from a single channel (31 of Level 1B). This term with 1km resolution was used for Landsat SST atmospheric correction. Comparison of in situ SST measurements and the corrected Landsat SSTs has shown a significant improvement in $R^2$ from 0.6229 to 0.7779. It is shown that the combination of the high resolution Landsat SST and the Terra/MODIS atmospheric correction can be a routine data production scheme for the thermal remote sensing of ocean.

This study examined the Chinese style in the Vivienne Tam collection as well as explored diversity and modern interpretation of a Chinese style used in modern fashion. The study also investigated the concept and history of the Chinese style as well as analyzed the Chinese style in the collection based on a consideration of a Chinese element that is the basic structure with an understanding of Vivienne Tam and general collection themes. As a result of research, the Chinese style appeared in the Vivienne Tam collection was comprehensive with 43 Chinese elements including Animals, Flower & Grass among the Nature elements, Mythology Religion among the Figure elements, Historical Artifacts, Clothing, Oral Literature, Entertainment, Fine Arts. Technique, Folk holiday among Culture elements and Philosophy among Spirit elements, which accounted for 57.6% of the collection. The formative characteristics that included Chinese elements were extended, abstracted, distorted or transformed; in addition, some abstract elements were embodied into animals, images and certain particular forms to present a theme. In addition to two-dimensional method to print Chinese elements on fabric, they were also expressed as a three-dimensional texture or a silhouette, achieving clear and bold harmony. The aesthetic characteristic is a mixture of Eastern and Western way of thinking. Her costume has a political and historical meaning beyond the imitation of elements that represent the development of a pleasant and interesting design.
