Characteristics of polyaniline anti-corrosive coatings with various primer coating resins(epoxy resin, urethane resin, and others) and top coating resins(epoxy and acrylic urethane resins) were investigated through adhesion, acid resistance, alkaline resistance, water resistance, and anti-corrosion tests. As a result, the anti-corrosive properties of the prepared coatings using polyaniline varied with the types of primer and top coating resins. In this condition, the properties of adhesion, chemical resistance, and water resistance were found to be very satisfactory when using emeraldine base (EB) of polyaniline blended with single-packaged urethane and acrylic urethane resins as the primer coatings, and using acrylic urethane resin as the top coatings. Also, the anti-corrosive function of these anti-corrosive coatings was well preserved for 1000 hr in the salt spray experiment.
This paper estimates numerically cells the electrical characteristics of the PV module with environmental changes such as shunt resistance, series resistance, temperature, irradiance. Series resistance $R_s$ including diode characteristic resistance $r_d$ is derived from the p-n junction diode model. I-V characteristics of this model with series resistance $R_s$ are simulated on Matlab. Finally, theoretical I-V characteristics are compared with those of solar simulator. Those results agreed well within the manufacturer's maximum error range 3%
Al ion plating was carried to improve corrosion resistance of Nd-based permanent magnet made by prwder molding method. The effects of applied votage, pressyre and temperature were investigated to find the reation between coating parameters and their properties. Density of coating layer increased with voltage and thus corrosion resistance improved. However when voltage was applied more than 1000V, corrosion resistance whet down because of resputtering effect. Good corrosion resistance was acquired when gas pressure was $5.0\times10^-2$>torr, which is satisfied momentum energy of Ar, Al ions as well as quantity of plasma. The layer coated in low temperature range have better surface density and corrosion resistance than in high temperature. This result is seemed due to the characteristics of substrate itself. All coating layers were showed stong adhesion with substrate.
Usually, equations that calculate ground resistance of earth electrode was already informed well by form of earth electrode. But, when apply on the spot because general expressions are very insufficient at point that calculate exact ground resistance value by variation of earth electrode, and constant value that corrective coefficient for ground resistance calculation is fixed regardless of change of the earth resistivity specially is presented, it is actuality that difficulty is. Therefore, in this study, about these problem, proposed corrective coefficient for calculation of ground resistance according to change of the earth resistivity.
The wear resistance of electroless Ni-P-X(X A1203, Diamond) composite coating layers was studied by Taber abrasion test technique. The wear resistance of composite coating layers was particularly relied upon the codeposited content, particle size and distribution of particles, and heat treatment of coating layers, as well as the electroless nickel plating bath employed. In this study, we lay emphasis on the wear resistance of electroless composite coating layers containing A1203 particles(1.2~Im, 6.7hIm, 11.5lIm, 20l1m) or diamond particles (1.5jim, 5gm). From the result of composite coating A1203 and diamond particles, the wear resistance of composite coating layers is as follows.
Effects of patenting temperature on bending fatigue resistance of pearlitic steel filaments were investigated experimentally. The fatigue resistance of steel filaments was carried out by using hunter machine, specially designed for ultra fine-sized steel wires, in the controlled conditions. The transmission electron microscopy (TEM) was used for observing the overall microstructure. It revealed that the fatigue resistance as well as tensile strength increased together with increase of patenting temperature from 510 to $600^{\circ}C$, while the endurance ratio ($\sigma_e/\sigma_{TS}$) of filaments decreased. It is believed that this variation of mechanical properties with change of patenting temperature should be strongly influenced by the change of microstructure. The bending fatigue properties of steel filaments were discussed based on microstructural parameters.
Corrosion occurs well on surface of roll formed and Zn alloy subsequently electro-deposited on steel bolt under wet condition. In this study, variations in corrosion resistance were investigated through the measurement of polarization curves on steel bolts which were roll formed and subsequently coated with various types of coating methods. According to the measured polarization curve, Ni-P electroless deposits on roll formed steel increased the resistance to corrosion. The corrosion resistance of Zn alloy powder coated steel bolt was found to be better than that of Zn-Ni electro-deposited sample.
Antibiotic resistance (AR) is a silent pandemic that kills millions worldwide. Although the development of new therapeutic agents against antibiotic resistance is in urgent demand, this has presented a great challenge, especially for Gram-negative bacteria that have inherent drug-resistance mediated by impermeable outer membranes and multidrug efflux pumps that actively extrude various drugs from the bacteria. For the last two decades, multidrug efflux pumps, including AcrAB-TolC, the most clinically important efflux pump in Gram-negative bacteria, have drawn great attention as strategic targets for re-sensitizing bacteria to the existing antibiotics. This article aims to provide a concise overview of the AcrAB-TolC operational mechanism, reviewing its architecture and substrate specificity, as well as the recent development of AcrAB-TolC inhibitors.
Stress history increases in penetration resistance due to the increase in residual horizontal stress of granular soil. This study analyzes the effect of stress history on the results of CPT and DMT from calibration chamber specimen in OC as well as NC state. Test results show that the normalized cone resistance by mean effective stress correlates well with the relative density and the state parameter, whereas the normalized cone resistance with regard to vertical effective stress is a little affected by stress history. The horizontal stress index($K_D$) in DMT more reflects the influence of stress history on granular soil than the dilatometer modulus($E_D$) and cone resistance($q_c$). The $K_D/K_0$, in which the effect of stress history on $K_D$ is compensated by the at-rest coefficient of earth pressure, $K_0$, is related to relative density, state parameter and the normalized cone resistance by mean effective stress. It is also observed that the normalized dilatometer modulus by mean effective stress($E_D/{\sigma_m}'$) is unique correlated with the state parameter, regardless of stress history.

Antimicrobial resistance has been a well-recognized problem ever since the introduction of penicillin into clinical use. History of antimicrobial development can be categorized based on the major antibiotics that had been developed against emerging resistant $pathogens^1$. In the first period from 1940 to 1960, penicillin was a dominating antibiotic called as a "magic bullet", although S.aureus armed with penicillinase led antimicrobial era to the second period in 1960s and 1970s. The second stage was characterized by broad-spectrum penicillins and early generation cephalosporins. During this period, nosocomial infections due to gram-negative bacilli became more prevalent, while those caused by S.aureus declined. A variety of new antimicrobial agents with distinct mechanism of action including new generation cephalosporins, monobactams, carbapenems, ${\beta}$-lactamase inhibitors, and quinolones characterized the third period from 1980s to 1990s. However, extensive use of wide variety of antibiotics in the community and hospitals has fueled the crisis in emerging antimicrobial resistance. Newly appeared drug-resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae (DRSP), vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE), extended-spectrum ${\beta}$-lactamase-producing Klebsiella, and VRSA have posed a serious threat in many parts of the world. Given the recent epidemiology of antimicrobial resistance and its clinical impact, there is no greater challenge related to emerging infections than the emergence of antibiotic resistance. Problems of antimicrobial resistance can be amplified by the fact that resistant clones or genes can spread within or between the species as well as to geographically distant areas which leads to a global concern$^2$. Antimicrobial resistance is primarily generated and promoted by increased use of antimicrobial agents. Unfortunately, as many as 50 % of prescriptions for antibiotics are reported to be inappropriate$^3$. Injudicious use of antibiotics even for viral upper respiratory infections is a universal phenomenon in every part of the world. The use of large quantities of antibiotics in the animal health industry and farming is another major factor contributing to selection of antibiotic resistance. In addition to these background factors, the tremendous increase in the immunocompromised hosts, popular use of invasive medical interventions, and increase in travel and mixing of human populations are contributing to the resurgence and spread of antimicrobial resistance$^4$. Antimicrobial resistance has critical impact on modem medicine both in clinical and economic aspect. Patients with previously treatable infections may have fatal outcome due to therapeutic failure that is unusual event no more. The potential economic impact of antimicrobial resistance is actually uncountable. With the increase in the problems of resistant organisms in the 21st century, however, additional health care costs for this problem must be enormously increasing.
