연속형 프리플렉스 합성거더 교량의 캠버 관리 (Camber Management of Continuous Preflex Girder Bridges)

  • This paper presents a strategy for the quality assurance of the continuous preflex composite girder bridge through the camber management of the girder during construction. The construction stages which require welding, balanced preflexion loads at the ends, etc. may cause unexpected large deformation to the preflex girder. Furthermore, these defects can be detected by measurements and analyses of the girder behavior which is sometimes time consuming. In the present study, preflex girder's camber data at equally spaced nodes in each construction stage are obtained and analyzed for the quality control of thee span continuous preflex girder composite bridge.

음향방출 신호를 이용한 압력용기의 누설 검사기법 개발 (Leak Detection Technique of Pressure Vessel Using Acoustic Emission Signal)

  • In this study, the leak detection technique of pressure vessel by using acoustic emission(AE) signal is suggested experimentally. The leak of pressure vessel is located at the welding line due to welding defects. we measured the AE signal using Rl5I sensor, and examined the AE parameters in leak condition. It is investigated that the mean value of AE signal is dependent on leak source location. So the absolute mean value of AE signal is adopted as dominant AE parameter. We proposed leak detection algorithm using AE signal mean value for monitoring the leak source location.

  • As rail steel at a crossing area must undergo much higher loading than those at regular railway, Mn-alloyed steel is normally used for its high load-carrying capability and reduced wear rate. However, as these Mn-alloyed steel is tend to have casting defects, manufacturing cost to produce defect-free Mn-alloyed steel becomes quite expensive. Therefore, in order to replace Mn-alloyed steel, we performed build-up welding using CH-90 and investigated regarding to wear characteristics of build-up weld metal.

  • 용접구조물에서 용접이음부가 차지하는 비율은 매우 작은 경우가 많지만 용접이음부에는 각종 초기결함(이들 결함으로부터 진전하는 피로 균열, 환경에 의한 균열등을 포함) 및 용접 초기의 부정형을 비롯해서 형상적 불연속 등에서 유기되는 국부적인 응력, 변형률의 집중, 잔류응력, 구속응력, 용접금속이 갖는 숙명적인 야금적 특성의 불균일, bond부 및 HAZ부에서의 용접열 싸이클에 의한 재질의 국부적 강도저하등 용접부의 강도를 저하시키는 인자들이 복합되기 쉽고, 용접구조물 전체의 내파괴 건전성평가에서 용접부가 파괴 강도는 매우 중요하다. 용접구조물의 설계, 시공의 목적은 소요성능의 확보에 있고 구조물이 사용중에 성능손실이나 불안정 파괴가 발생하지 않도록 하는 것이 주요요건이 될 것이다. 현재의 제강기술수준에서 볼 때 모재의 강 도보다 오히려 용접부의 강도 특히 피로강도 및 파괴 인성을 적절하고 합리적으로 평가하는 것이 매우 중요하다고 해도 과언이 아닐 것이다. 용접부의 강도를 평가하는데 있어서 용접부에 발 생하는 용접결함에 대한 평가는 매우 중요하며 이들 결함에 대한 허용결함한계를 평가하여 보수 여부 및 용접구조물의 신뢰성을 평가 할 필요가 있다.

  • In this paper, the applicability of an UET(ultrasound excited thermography) for a defect detection of the welded receptacle is described. An UET(ultrasound excited thermography) is a defect-selective and fast imaging tool for damage detection. A high power ultrasound-excited vibration energy with pulse durations of 280ms is injected into the outer surface of the welded receptacle made of Al material. An ultrasound vibration energy sent into the welded receptacle propagate inside the sample until they are converted into the heat in the vicinity of the defect. The injection of the ultrasound excited vibration energy results in heat generation so that the defect is turned into a local thermal wave transmitter. Its local heat emission is monitored by the thermal infrared camera. And they are processed by the image recording system. Measurement was performed on aluminum receptacle welded by using Nd:YAG laser. The observed thermal image revealed two area of defects along the welded seam.

  • FCAW has wide application in ship fabrication, maintenance and field erection. It has many advantages over SMAW.SAW and GMAW process. In many applications, the FCAW provides highquality weld metal. This method can reduce weld defects especially porosity and spatter. But the fatigue characteristics of those deposited metal have been rarely investigated. The purpose of this study is to investigate the cyclic stress-strain behavior and fatigue tests by the constant strain control were carried out on the rounded smooth specimen with deposited metal using the metal type flux cored wire. As the results of this study for the deposited metal welded by the metal type flux cored wire, the hardening or softening characteristics under cyclic load were investigated and cyclic stress-strain curve, strain-fatigue life curve, stress-strain function and fatigue life relation which are useful to estimate the fatigue life under the stress concentration condition were obtained.

  • The L-bending of inner-structure bonded sandwich sheet metal is examined to reduce springback and defects of bent parts. The specimen is composed of top and bottom layers and a middle layer with dimple type-inner-structure and each layer is bonded by resistance welding. This specimen with hollow type-inner-structure shows different bending characteristics from the conventional sandwich sheet metals with solid type-inner-structure. The experiments were conducted for two kinds of working conditions, that is, clearance and movement of first bent specimen for second bending. The deformed profile, bend angle and springback were investigated and compared and then the proper working conditions for L-bending of sandwich sheet metal were prosed.

  • This research investigates microstructures and fatigue properties of the weldments of 6005A aluminum alloy developed for railroad vehicles. The samples were extruded into a truss structure and welded together using the gas metal arc welding process. The extruded sample showed a wide variation in grain size, possibly due to the frictional heating as well as the inghomogeneous metal flow in the extrusion die. The mechanical properties of the samples were affected by the mirocstructures. The fatigue strength of the welded structure was found to decrease significantly from that of the base metal. It was found that the fatigue characteristics of the welded structure were determined by the microstructure of the parent metal as well as weld defects such as porosities and the liquation cracks.

  • Structural reliability of electrical panels installed in naval vessels is of critical importance from structural performance viewpoint. The panels may be exposed to vibration and fatigue loadings from internal and external sources and wave loading which cause fatigue cracking. In this study, common methods such as burr grinding and post weld heat treatment (PWHT), for the fatigue strength improvement of weldments are investigated. Burr grinding is carried out using a electric grinder in order to remove surface defects and improve the weld bead profile. And also PWHT is carried out for the purpose of removing residual. The effectiveness of the two post treatment methods is evaluated in terms of fatigue strength improvement of welded structures.
