이종 AI합금의 저항점용접부 용접성과 피로특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Weldability and the Fatigue Characteristics in Resistance pot Welding of 5182-O/6061-T6 Dissimilar Aluminum Alloy Sheets)

  • This study deals with spot weld ability of dissimilar aluminum alloy sheets in order to take advantage of its lightweight and strength. The paper also shows the relationship between weld elements(i.e. current, welding time and tip force) and weld quality on the resistance spot weld part of the same and dissimilar Al alloy. The conclusions are: (1) Because of excessive tip force, deep indentation remained at the Al 5182 side which is lower stiffness at the dissimilar Al alloy. (2) Weld quality (i.e. tensile shear strength) of dissimilar Al alloy is superior to that of the same Al 6061 alloy. (3) As long cycles, fatigue life of spot weld specimen on dissimilar Al alloy sheets was better than that of the same Al alloy.

FSW를 이용한 AZ31B Mg합금의 접합성 평가 (Evaluation of Joint Properties of Friction Stir Welded AZ31B Mg Alloy)

  • Friction stir weldability of AZ31B Mg alloy was studied using microstructural observation and mechanical tests. Defect free joints was obtained under the condition of 2000rpm-100mm/min. In TMAZ, a lot of twin deformation were observed due to the mechanical effect of the FSW tool and thus relatively high hardness was obtained. In SZ, the twin deformation was disappeared by recovery and the hardness decreased because the. grain structure was coarsened by dynamic recrystallization and grain growth. The Al-Mn precipitates were observed throughout the joint regions. On the other hand, $$\beta$-Mg_{17}Al_{12}$ intermetallic compounds were not observed in either of the zone. The joint efficiency was about 80% and the impact value of the joint was almost equal to that of base metal.

  • The mechanism of the blowhole and the pit formation in lap-jointed fillet Co₂arc welds of Zn-coated steel sheet was established by the direct observation of the gas behavior in the molten pool with the high speed camera system. Main conclusions obtained are as follows: 1) Some blowholes were formed by incomplete back-filling to the pits at the last stage of the solidification. This type of blowhole was formed through four stages of gas in the molten pool, incubation, explosion, back-filling and completion of back-filling stage. 2) Most of the pits was back-filled at the last stage of their formation.

  • Laser welding techniques have been characterised for various materials. In this paper, the laser weldability of STS304 stainless steel and Inconel 600 at dissimilar metal welds using a continuous wave Nd:YAG laser are experimentally investigated. Inconel 600 is being used in a steam generator tubing of pressurized water reactor(PWR) exposed to some corrosion. Stress corrosion cracking can occur on this material. An experimental study was conducted to determine effects of welding parameters, on eliminating or reducing the extent welding zone formation at dissimilar metal welds and to optimize those parameters that have the most influence parameters such as focus length, power, beam speed, shielding gas, and wave length of laser were tested.

용융아연도금강판의 단면부 부식특성 (The corrosion behavior of galvanized steel sheets at the cut edges)

  • As GA (Hot dip galvannealed steel sheet) has good corrosion resistance, weldability and paintability as well as excellent formability, it's demand is rapidly increasing for automotive panels. The GA coated layers are composed of several kinds of brittle Fe-Zn Metallic compounds which are susceptible to powdering during the press forming, however, very careful controls of manufacturing conditions such as galvannealing heat-treatment or bath composition are essential to meet with the required quality of automotive use. In this study the required characteristics of automotive panel are practically surveyed in detail and the appropriate manufacturing conditions of galvannealing or bath composition have experimentally investigated by using the various analyzing and simulating equipments. The result in this study indicated that the corrosion resistance at the cut edges was improved by increasing of coating weight and decreasing of thickness of sheet steels.

오스테나이트계 스테인리스강의 용접성과 내식성에 미치는 합금원소의 영향(I) - 응고균열 감수성을 중심으로 - (The Effect of Alloying Elements on Weldability and Corrosion Resistance of Austenitic Stainless Steels(I))

  • The interest of austenitic heat resistant stainless steels containing high Si has increased because they have higher resistance of oxidation and higher strength at high temperature than STS 310. This study carried out Varestraint test for evaluation of solidification cracking sensitivity of 14 different stainless steels. As a result of Varestraint test, all specimens solidified as primary ferrite, and solidification crack sensitivity increased with adding $N_2$ to shielding gas. Nb and W had beneficial effect on solidification crack resistance in case of less than FN 2 containing, but crack sensitivity increased with Nb and W in case of more than FN 2. Ce had beneficial effect on solidification crack resistance but impaired weld bead appearance.

  • Austenitic stainless steel has good weldability but is sensitive to hot cracking such as solidification crack and liquation crack. In this study, the specimens of dissimilar metals made between austenitic stainless steel and Al-brass were welded by GTAW process using four different filler metals. Cracks were detected in the heat-affected zone of the stainless steel when welded with CuAl, CuSn and NiCu filler metals, but no cracks were detected a Ni filler metal was used. The cracks propagated along the grain boundary in the heat affected zone near the fusion line to base metal of 316L stainless steel. The cracks were located inside the weld bead with very fine hairline crack. All cracks initiated at the fusion line and moved forward in the base metal. From energy dispersion spectroscopy (EDS), Cu peak was detected only in the crack-opening area.

Gd effect on microstructure and properties of the Modified-690 alloy for function structure integrated thermal neutron shielding

  • The new Modified-690Gd alloy, namely as Ni-30Cr-(10-x) Fe-xGd (x = 0.5, 1.0, 1.5,2.0, 3.0 wt%) for function structure integrated thermal neutron shielding has been prepared and characterized. The Modified-690Gd alloy was mainly composed of γ austenite matrix and (Ni, Cr, Fe)5Gd precipitated along grain boundaries. The new Modified-690Gd alloy had great mechanical properties, which had the tensile strength exceeding 620 MPa and the elongation being above 50%. Meanwhile, this alloy had excellent weldability and good corrosion resistance in boric acid. The new Modified-690Gd alloy is expected to be a kind of high efficiency thermal neutron shielding materials.

  • 자동차 산업에서는 환경 문제와 국제 유가 상승 등으로 인한 차량 경량화에 대한 요구가 증대되고 있다. 이에 따라 알루미늄 합금과 특수 소재 등이 차량 중량을 줄이는데 활용되고 있지만 비용과 강도 측면에서 철강소재를 극복하기 에는 여전히 많은 어려움이 있다. 따라서 강도와 성형성이 좋은 AHSS(Advanced High Strength Steel) 소재의 적용이 증가하고 있다. 특히 운전자 보호를 위한 안전 규제가 강화되면서 센터필러 (Center Pillar), 루프레일 (Roof Rail) 부분에 1.2GPa급 초고강도 강재의 적용이 점차 늘어나고 있으며 이종강재에 대한 자동차 차체 적용 또한 점차 증가하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 SGAFC1180 1.2t 강재의 저항 점용접성 및 용접부의 특성을 파악하였다. 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 너깃의 생성 및 성장 거동을 관찰하였으며 예측 성능은 오차율 10% 이내에서 유사한 경향을 나타내었다. 또한 이러한 거동이 공정변수인 동저항에 미치는 영향을 파악하였고 전단인장강도 및 너깃 직경과의 상관관계를 고찰하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 동저항의 패턴을 인식하여 패턴의 형태에 따라 용접 상태를 분류하고 용접 품질을 판단하는 시스템도 제안할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

HSB600강 가스메탈아크용접부에서 입열량과 용접후 열처리가 기계적 특성과 미세조직에 미치는 영향 (The effect of heat input and PWHT on the mechanical properties and microstructure of HSB600 steel weldments with GMAW)

  • 교량용 고성능 강재는 높은 인장강도, 항복강도, 고인성, 용접성등이 요구된다. 교량 구조용 강재인 TMCP HSB600강의 GMA용접부에서 입열량(1.4~3.2kJ/mm)과 용접후 열처리가 기계적 특성과 미세조직에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 용접된 상태에서는 입열량이 증가할수록 인장강도와 경도는 감소하였다. 입열량 1.4kJ/mm에서는 빠른 냉각 속도에 의해 베나이트적 페라이트와 탄화물 집합체 등의 경한 미세조직이 생성되었고 입열량 2.1kJ/mm에서는 침상형 페라이트가 다량 생성되었으며, 고입열량인 3.2kJ/mm에서는 입계페라이트 사이트 플레이트와 구형 페라이트가 많이 생성되었다. 용접 후 열처리를 통해 용접부의 잔류응력의 감소와 결정립 조대화로 인하여 인장강도와 경도는 감소하였으나 충격흡수에너지에는 큰 차이가 없었다.
