  • Recently with the development of Web services by utilizing a variety of web content, the studies on user experience and personalization based on web usage has attracted much attention. Majority of personalized analysis are have been carried out based on existing data, primarily using the database and statistical models. These approaches are difficult to reflect in a timely mannerm, and are limited to reflect the true behavioral characteristics because the data itself was just a result of customers' behaviors. However, recent studies and commercial products on web analytics try to track and analyze all of the actions from landing to exit to provide personalized service. In this study, by analyzing the customer's click-stream behaviors, we define U-Score(Usage Score), P-Score (Preference Score), M-Score(Mania Score) to indicate variety of customer preferences. With the devised three indicators, we can identify the customer's preferences more precisely, provide in-depth customer reports and customer relationship management, and utilize personalized recommender services.

  • Korean government is providing a Internet-based government services to people. One of the main concerns of the government for implementing e-government services is to increase the sustainable use of the people. Therefore, management and development of e-government Web site is an important issue. In particular, it is an important to the government policy for reinforcing satisfaction and trust of the usage of e-government services. Thus, the Web site design is an important issue to consider for increasing usage of e-government services. Therefore, studies of e-government Web site design suggested an important implication to spread for continual usage of e-government services. In this study, we investigated relationships among the design factors of e-government Web site, trust, and satisfaction. The results of this study will provide useful suggestions for developing design strategies for continual adoption of e-government services.

  • Many attempts have been made to track the web usage patterns and provide suggestions that might help web operators get the information they need. These tracking mechanisms rely on mining web log files for usage patterns. The purpose of this study is to verify a web agent prototype that was built for mining web log files. The web agent for this paper was made by Java and ASP and the agent came into being as part of a cookie for a short-term data storage. For long-term data storage, the agent used a My-SQL as a Data Base. This agent system could inform that if the data comes from the web data mining agent, it could be a rapid information providing method rather than the case of data coming into a data mining tool. Therefore, the developed tool in this study will be helpful as a new kind of decision making system and expert system.

  • Todays, electronic commerce(EC) results to the revolution and new paradigm of business, more and more Web-based EC applications have emerged. But, it's web systems should be satisfied by customers and it should be successful to buying some goods in virtual stores with easy to use. The usability and acceptance of the EC web system is one of the key factors in the successful construction of EC system. In this paper, we considered the characteristics of information search and decision making process in the design of EC web system to be used easily and to be more acceptable to customers. On the basis of these characteristics, we could classified with the activities of the process of buying in the domestic web systems. And, the log files of experimental tasks were analyzed by the statistical method of data mining. As the these results, the important factors of the process of buying could be summarized, 5 user groups could be seen in EC customers, and the usage patterns of these groups were described. These results could be very useful to design user-oriented EC web system.

Characteristics of Colors and Color Images on fashion Web Sites (패션 웹사이트의 색채 특성와 이미지)

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze the characteristics of colors and color images on fashion web sites, and to provide efficient color informatiom which is useful in color planning and is suitable for brand image on fashion web sites.216 color sample used by 48 fashion web sites were collected and analyzed. The results of this study are as follows; First, dominant colors on fashion web sites are neutral color such as white, gray, black and warm colors such as red, yellow red, yellow. Except blue, cool colors show low usage ratio. Second, the color tones of vivid, strong, light, dull, dark, dark grayish were shown in order. Third, the color images on fashion web sites are casual, modem, romantic, natural, elegant, chic, classic, dandy, pretty, clear, cool casual, dynamic, gorgeous, ethnic and formal.

  • 웹 사용 마이닝은 데이터마이닝을 바탕으로 사용자의 로그 파일 정보를 이용하여 웹이 이용되는 패턴을 발견한다. 이를 이용하여 웹을 개선하여 사용자들이 보다 빨리 원하는 내용을 검색할 수 있도록 할 수 있으며 시스템 관리자에게는 효율적인 웹 구조를 인한 정보를 제공할 수 있다. 웹 사용 마이닝에서 사용하는 데이터는 성형화되어 있지 않으며 웹 사용 패턴을 분석하는데 방해가 되는 잡음 데이터까지 포함하고 있다. 이것은 기존에 개발된 여러 데이터마이닝 기법을 적용하는데 어려움으로 작용한다. 이러한 어려움을 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 새로운 방법을 도입한 SPMiner을 .제안한다. SPMiner는 웹의 구조를 이용하여 로그 파일의 전처리 과정을 줄이며 사용자의 탐색 패턴 분석을 효율적으로 수행 할 수 있는 시스템이다. SPMiner는 WebTree 에이전트를 이용하여 웹 사이트 구조를 분석하여 WebTree를 생성하고 사용자 로그 파일을 분석하여 각 웹 페이지의 사용빈도에 대한 정보를 추출한다. WebTree와 로그 파일에서 추출된 웹 페이지에 대한 정보는 SPMiner에 의해 패턴을 분석할 퍼 이용될 수 있는 형태인 WebTree$^{+}$로 병합된다 WebTree$^{+}$는 패턴 발견을 쉽게 해주며 사용자에게 추천할 정보나 웹 페이지를 능동적으로 추천할 수 있게 만들어 준다.

  • This paper describes an overview and research work related to web page segmentation. Over a period of time, various techniques have been used and proposed to extract meaningful information from web pages automatically. Due to voluminous amount of data this extraction demanded state of the art techniques that segment the web pages just like or close to humans. Motivation behind this is to facilitate applications that rely on the meaningful data acquired from multiple web pages. Information extraction, search engines, re-organized web display for small screen devices are few strong candidate areas where web page extraction has adequate potential and utility of usage.

  • As the information society matures, an analysis on possible outputs of internet usage is needed. Thus, this study was peformed in order to understand the utility cognition and negative outputs of internet users. The method used in this study was a web-based questionnaire that was administered to the internet users. Five hundred married men and women were analyzed with a factor and a multiple regression analysis. Results were as follows: First, many kinds of internet usages - information searching, internet shopping, electronic mail, instant messaging, and decision-making dependent on internet information - were differentiated with age. Second, the altitude about the internet was an important explanatory variable in the types of internet usage. Third, negative outputs of internet usage were great in terms of information resource management and unbalanced scheduling in daily time spent. Fourth, utility cognition was affected by qualitative elements on internet usage more than the quantitative ones.

KMS reinforcement method in the small organization (소규모 조직의 지식경영시스템 활성화 방안)

  • When small organizations construct and operate Knowledge Management System(KMS), there exists inefficiency in employee participation and system usage. In recent years, web itself is evolving into web 2.0. And It is crucial to utilize web 2.0 characteristics into KMS. The problems in the original version of KMS(KMS 1.0) is as follows. KMS is separated from Offline and electronic work processing systems. Even information in the electronic work processing system cannot be accessed by employees of other divisions in the same organization. Now web 2.0 environment provides more enhanced user participation and information sharing. It also reinforces KMS 1.0 into KMS 2.0. Small organizations should take advantage of web 2.0 environment and construct the better version KMS of its own with low-cost and high-efficiency.

  • Recent advances in the internet infrastructure have resulted in a large number of huge Web sites and portals worldwide. These Web sites are being visited by various types of users in many different ways. Among all the web page access sequences from different users, some of them occur so frequently that may need an attention from those who are interested. We call them frequent access patterns and access sequences that can be frequent the candidate patterns. Since these candidate patterns play an important role in the incremental Web mining, it is important to efficiently generate, add, delete, and search for them. This thesis presents a novel tree structure that can efficiently store the candidate patterns and a related set of algorithms for generating the tree structure adding new patterns, deleting unnecessary patterns, and searching for the needed ones. The proposed tree structure has a kind of the 3 dimensional link structure and its nodes are layered.
