객체모델을 이용한, XML DTD의 ORDB 스키마로의 변환 (Transformation from XML DTD to ORDB Schema using Object Model)

  • XML is a standard markup language for exchange and storage of formed or well-formed information in World Wide Web. Because the source data of XML message for exchange of information in World Wide Web is stored in legacy database, it is necessary for the easy connection between XML application and database system. In Oracle8i, 9i, Informix and SQL2000, DBMS vendors make upgrade to DBMS for using XML. This method of upgrade between XML application and database system is Platform-dependent and DBMS-dependent. Also It is necessary for the method of the platform- and DBMS-independent connection between XML application and database system. The methods for the connection between XML DTD and RDB schema are studied for the easy connection between XML application and database system. But the study for the easy connection between XML DTD and ORDB schema is a little. For multimedia application, we use the extended DBMS from RDBMS. It is necessary for the study to the transformation from XML DTD to ORDB schema. In this paper, for easier connection between XML application and database system, we propose the method of the transformation from XML DTD to ORDB schema using Object Model.

  • As a core project of the Korean Astronomical Data Center (KADC) in Korea Astronomy Observatory (KAO), we have constructed a framework of astronomical database using MySQL and JSP. MySQL database server is a powerful open source database management system, and JSP technology provides a simplified, fast way to create dynamic web content. Combined together, MySQL and JSP enable us to develop server-independent web-based applications efficiently in a short amount of time. The MySQL tables and JSP programs embedded in our database are built/written in a way to benefit both users and managers. We plan to expand our database by supplementing additional data in the near future. Our newly constructed database is expected to be the prototype of the Korean Virtual Observatory (KVO).

효율적인 감성공학적 인테리어 디자인 분석 도구의 설계 (Design of an Effective Human Sensibility Ergonomic Interior Design Analysis Tool)

  • The statistical method of human sensibility ergonomics is widely used for analyzing interior design because it has standard processes and it can help to get quantifiable results. However applying this method demands repeated intense work and great time and effort is required. In this study, a tool applying Web and virtual reality techniques for statistical human sensibility ergonomic interior design analysis is proposed and the key parts of the tool including database and interface are implemented. The database contains the sensibility adjective table and the physical interior design factor table for analyzing the relationship between human sense and physical design factors. Interface of the tool is implemented using Web technologies, so testers can evaluate interior design samples via standard Web browsers. The 3D control which is an important component of the interface is also implemented. Employing the suggested tool can reduce effort and time for evaluating human sense in Interior design field.

  • Using user monitoring techniques on web, marketing decision makers in cyber shopping malls can gather customer behavior data as well as sales transaction data and customer profiles. In this paper, we present a marketing rule extraction technique for customer behavior analysis in cyber shopping malls, The technique is an application of market basket analysis which is a representative data mining technique for extracting association rules. The market basket analysis technique is applied on a customer behavior log table, which provide association rules about web pages in a cyber shopping mall. The extracted association rules can be used for mall layout design, product packaging, web page link design, and product recommendation. A prototype cyber shopping mall with customer monitoring features and a customer behavior analysis algorithm is implemented using Java Web Server, Servlet, JDBC(Java Database Connectivity), and relational database on windows NT.

  • As a fundamental knowledge source in a global learning environment, it is feasible to apply the relational database management systems (RDBMS), object-oriented database management systems (OODBMS), and other traditional DBMS. However, the traditional DBMSs are not feasible in semantic knowledge/ontology representation and inference. One of the reasonable ways to overcome the limitations is the semantic web-based business support framework. Especially, in this study, we focused on the development of semantic web ontology and natural language (NL)-based inference framework. To validate the efficiency of the proposed framework, we considered a reasonable scenario for course recommendation in a university.

  • 최근에 WWW의 등장과 함께 컴퓨터를 매개로 한 수업이 점차 증가하고 있으며,웹 기반 수업에 대한 문제점이 많이 지적되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 버튼 이론을 이용하여 적용하기 위한 데이터베이스 테이블을 설계하여 학습자 동기 유발에 적응적인 웹기반 코스웨어의 모형을 제안하였다. 웹기반의 가상교육을 통해서 실제적으로 학습자 자신의학습동기를 체크하기 위하여 학습내용이 있는 매 화면마다 학습자의 상태를 파악할 수 있도록 테이블을 설계하였다.

  • Apartment auction is a system that is used for the citizens to get a house. This paper deals with the implementation of a web-based intelligent decision support system using OLAP technique and data mining technique for auction decision support. The implemented decision support system is working on a real auction database and is mainly composed of OLAP Knowledge Extractor based on data warehouse and Auction Data Miner based on data mining methodology. OLAP Knowledge Extractor extracts required knowledge and visualizes it from auction database. The OLAP technique uses fact, dimension, and hierarchies to provide the result of data analysis by menas of roll-up, drill-down, slicing, dicing, and pivoting. Auction Data Miner predicts a successful bid price by means of applying classification to auction database. The Miner is based on the lazy model-based classification algorithm and applies the concepts such as decision fields, dynamic domain information, and field weighted function to this algorithm and applies the concepts such as decision fields, dynamic domain information, and field weighted function to this algorithm to reflect the characteristics of auction database.

  • In recent years, Internet/Intranet represents the next generation of computing environment. Therefore, it is necessary to integrate WWW((World Wide Web) over internet/intranet and DBMS(Database Management System) in proportion to the increase of various users' request and an amount of data variety. Also, also full variety of service over WWW need to accomplish rapidly modification of bug and make a betterment of system according to a feature of rapid change of information and an importance of interaction with users. The typical CGI method commonly used to connect with database has a disadvantage in time and resources in system due to frequent connection with database. Therefore, this paper provides the conceptual structure and implementation of information management system over WWW with applying a recent information technology called ASP(Active Server Pages) that controls and arranges client logic dynamically in server-side and introducing a concept of working group and folder to database design.

  • We have created in our university material management environment, which uses database created by using LATEX-files, and LATEX2HTML translator and PHP language. In this paper we will define how these LATEX-files are transformed into our database. In this paper, we present work which we have done for providing the material used in the teaching of calculus to students at Lappeenranta University of Technology. This procedure can be divided into three separate steps: 1) creation of the LATEX-files, 2) implementation of these LATEX-files in 3) conversion of the base LATEX-files to the HTML-files. So far, we have stored hundreds of exercises with hints and solutions on our web server in addition to some theory that we felt is necessary for the students. In this paper we will also discuss the benefits and future of our functioning Web-environment [1].
