We investigated the change of several meteorological variables due to deforestation. We established two sets of automatic weather observation system: one on a hill where forest was destructed by lumbering (Point 1) and the other in a neighboring district (Point 2) of fairly preserved forest. The observations were continued for one year (2006. 12-2007. 12). In this study, we analysed the data observed for one week from the nea day after summertime rainfall. The results showed that the air temperatures of Point 1 were about $1.5^{\circ}C$ higher than those of Point 2 during the daytime. But there were small gaps between the two poults during the nighttime. The relative humidities also differed greatly between the two during the daytime. It was as high as about 10% at Point 2. The surface and underground (15 cm in depth) soil temperatures were also fealty different between the two points during the daytime. They were $3-10^{\circ}C$ higher at Point 2 than those of Point 1. And the gaps reduced drastically during the nighttime. The averaged soil moistures were 7.1% at Point 1 and 19.5% at Point 2 during the observation period, respectively. The differences of wind direction were small, but the wind speeds differed between the two points. The observed wind speeds during the observation period were roughly estimated to be about 0.5m/s at Point 1 and 0.3m/s at Point 2. The heat budget analysis was also performed based on the observation data.

Purpose : This study achieved to search the effect of the circuit exercise and conventional exercise on walking ability(walking speed, endurance, dynamic balance, speed, endurance and pedestrian crossing) in chronic stroke. Methods : Since is diagnosed by stroke, to 30 chronic stroke patients who more than 1 year past the 15 circuit exercise group, the 15 conventional exercise group random the circuit exercise group applied circuit exercise 3th 8 weeks each week after neurological treatment because assigning and the conventional exercise group executed round trip walk exercise in parallel bar 3th 8 weeks each week after neurological treatment. The data of 25 patients who complete experimental course were statistically analysed. Results : The results of this dissertation were as following : 1) There were significantly increased after experimental of 10 meter walk test, 6 minutes walk test and Timed "Up and Go" test in circuit exercise group (p<.001). 2) There were significantly increased after experimental of 2, 4 and 6 lane road crossing mobility in Walking circuit exercise group(p<.01). 3) There were significantly differences after experimental of 10 meter walk test, 6 minutes walk test and Timed "Up and Go" test change quantity between circuit exercise group and conventional exercise group(p<.05). 4) There were correlations were found between the TUG test and 2, 4 and 6 lane road (2 lane road; r=.463, p<.01., 4 lane road; r=515, p<.01., 6lane road; r=.710, p<.01), and there were correlations were found between the 10 meter walk test and 6 minutes walk test(r=.595, p<.01), TUG test(r=.662, p<.01) and 6 lane road(r=.527, p<.01). Conclusion : Even if improvement of walk function through training consists in room, transfer of actuality pedestrian crossing is no change outside the room. Because it is much variable of the weather, seasonal factor, temperature, pedestrian number, state of underneath etc. outside the room. Then, in room after direction promotion of walk function to be promotion of walk function in actuality life and need development of connectable training method consider.
The relationship between GMS-5 IR1 brightness temperature (CTT:cloud top temperature) and AWS (automatic weather station) rainfall is investigated on a heavy rain event over the mid-western part of Korea for August 5-6, 1998. It is found that a temporal variability of the heavy rain can be described in detail y the time series of rain area and rain rates over the study area that are calculated from AWS accumulated rainfalls for 15 minutes. A time period of 0030-0430 LST 6 August 1998 is chosen in the time series as a heavy rain period which has relatively small rain area (20~25%) and very strong rain rates(6~9 mm/15 min.) with a good time continuity. In the heavy rain period, CTT of a point and AWS 15-minute rainfall beneath that point are compared. From the comparison, AWS rainfalls are shown to be not closely correlated with CTT. In the range of CTT lower than -5$0^{\circ}C$ where most AWS with rain are distributed, the probability of rain is at most about 30%. However, when the satellite images are shifted by 2~3 pixels southward and 3 pixels westward for the geometric correction of images, AWS rainfalls are shown to be statistically correlated with CTT (correlation coefficient:-0.46). Most AWS with rain are distributed in the much lower CTT range(lower than -58$^{\circ}C$), but there is still not much change in the rain probability. Even though a temporal change of CTT is taken into account, the rain probability amount to at most 50~55% in the same range.

3D architectural visualization animation has become more important in architectural presentations due to the rapid development of digital technology. Unlike games and movies, architectural visualization animation most focuses on delivering visual information, and aims to express the sense of space that viewers feel in an architectural space, rather than simply providing an image of viewing buildings. The sense of space is affected not only by physical elements of architecture, but also by immaterial elements such as light, time, and human actions, and it is more advantageous to express it in animations that can contain temporality compared to a fixed image. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to search for elements to effectively convey a sense of space in architectural visualization animation. To this end, the works of renowned architectural visualization artists that are open to the public were selected and observed to search for elements to effectively convey a sense of space to viewers. The elements that convey the sense of space that are common to the investigated architectural animations can be classified into the movement and manipulation of the camera, the movement of surrounding objects, the change of the light environment, the change of the weather, the control of time, and the insertion of a surreal scene. It will be followed by a discussion on the immersion of architectural contents.
Recently, uncertainty in predicting available water resources is gradually increasing due to climate change and extreme weather conditions. Social interest in water management such as flood and drought prevention is also increasing, and after the unification of water management implemented in 2018, domestic water management is facing a major turning point. As part of such strengthening of water management capabilities, various studies are being conducted to utilize a hydropower dam for flood control and water supply purposes, which was mainly operated for hydroelectric power generation. However, since the dam evaluation methods developed based on a multi-purpose dam are being applied to hydropower dams, an additional evaluation approach that can consider the characteristics of hydropower dams is required. In this study, a new water supply capacity evaluation method is presented in consideration of the operational characteristics of hydropower dams in terms of water supply, and a connected reservoir simulation method is proposed to evaluate the comprehensive water supply capacity of a dam group operating in a river basin. The presented method was applied to the hydropower dams located in the Bukhan River basin, and the results of the water supply yield of individual dams and multi-reservoir systems were compared and analyzed. In the future, the role of hydropower dams for water supply during drought is expected to become more important, and this study can be used for sustainable domestic water management research using hydropower dams.
In the past, satellite development required enormous budget and time, so only some developed countries possessed satellites. However, with the recent emergence of low-budget satellites such as micro-satellites, many countries around the world are participating in satellite development. Low-orbit and geostationary-orbit satellites are used in various fields such as environment and weather monitoring, precise change detection, and disasters. Recently, it has been actively used for monitoring through deep learning-based object-of-interest detection. Until now, Korea has developed satellites for national demand according to the space development plan, and the satellite image obtained through this is used for various purpose in the public and private sectors. Interest in satellite image is continuously increasing in Korea, and various contests are being held to discover ideas for satellite image application and promote technology development. In this special issue, we would like to introduce the topics that participated in the recently held 2022 Satellite Information Application Contest and research on the processing and utilization of KOMPSAT image data.
The purpose of this study is to apply the d4PDF (Data for Policy Decision Making for Future Change) constructed from a large-scale ensemble climate simulation to estimate the probable rainfall with low frequency and high intensity. In addition, this study analyzes the uncertainty caused by the application of the frequency analysis by comparing the probable rainfall estimated using the d4PDF with that estimated using the observed data and frequency analysis at Geunsam, Imsil, Jeonju, and Jangsu stations. The d4PDF data consists of a total of 50 ensembles, and one ensemble provides climate and weather data for 60 years such as rainfall and temperature. Thus, it was possible to collect 3,000 annual maximum daily rainfall for each station. By using these characteristics, this study does not apply the frequency analysis for estimating the probability rainfall, and we estimated the probability rainfall with a return period of 10 to 1000 years by distributing 3,000 rainfall by the magnitude based on a non-parametric approach. Then, the estimated probability rainfall using d4PDF was compared with those estimated using the Gumbel or GEV distribution and the observed rainfall, and the deviation between two probability rainfall was estimated. As a result, this deviation increased as the difference between the return period and the observation period increased. Meanwhile, the d4PDF reasonably suggested the probability rainfall with a low frequency and high intensity by minimizing the uncertainty occurred by applying the frequency analysis and the observed data with the short data period.

Today, the world is experiencing a variety of natural disasters due to the extreme weather. Drought that occurred throughout Southeast Asia from February to May 2016 is also a form of abnormal climate. As a result of this drought, five countries, including Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar, faced food shortages, food shortages, as well as rice yields for export. In this study, remote sensing technique was applied to the vicinity of Tonlé Sap, the largest lake in Southeast Asia, to quantitatively analyze the damage caused by drought. As a result, the change of land cover caused a drastic decrease in the water system (132.582㎢) and greenery (706.937㎢) in February 2016, and the reduced water system and greenery changed to dry land and paddy field. It was also found that the temperature rise of 6℃ ~ 8 ℃ compared to the previous year due to the drought from February to April 2016 due to the change of the surface temperature. And it was found that the function of the lake was deteriorated in April due to continuous drought.

Climate changes affect greatly natural ecosystem, human social and economic system acting on constituting the climate system such as air, ocean, life, glacier and land, etc. and estimating the current impact of climate change would be the most important thing to adapt to the climate changes. This study set the target area to Nakdong river watershed and investigated the impact of climate changes through analyzing precipitation tendency, and to understand the impact of climate changes on hydrological elements, analyzed elasticity of precipitation-streamflow. For the analysis of precipitation trend, collecting the precipitation data of the National Weather Service from major points of Nakdong river watershed, resampling them at the units of year, season and month, used as the data of precipitation trend analysis. To analyze precipitation-streamflow elasticity, collecting area average precipitation and long-term streamflow data provided by WAMIS, annual and seasonal time-series were analyzed. In addition, The results of this study and elasticity, and other abroad study compared with the elasticity analysis and the validity of this study was verified. Results of this study will be able to be utilized for study on a plan to increase of flood control ability of flooding constructs caused by the increase of streamflow around Nakdong river watershed due to climate changes and on a plan of adapting to water environment according to climate changes.

The limit of crop cultivation is moving northward due to the temperature rise by climate change. There is a problem with crop growth if early sowing is performed at a time when the temperature is low. It is difficult to secure crop productivity and cultivation stability due to the low temperature and short cultivation period. Therefore, this study was conducted to analyze the change in growth characteristics and yield of corn for grain when early sowing is performed in central region of South Korea. This experiment was conducted at experimental field of Suwon in 2021. Three varieties of corn for grain such as Kwangpyeongok, Sinhwangok, and Hwangdaok were sown at intervals of 5 days from 20 March to 15 April. The planting density at this time was sown with a row interval of 70 cm and a plant interval of 25 cm. Nitrogen, phosphoric acid, and potassium fertilizers were applied at 17.4 kg, 3.0 kg, and 6.9 kg per 10a, respectively. Phosphoric acid and potassium fertilizers were all applied before sowing and nitrogen fertilizer was applied 50% before sowing and 50% in the fifth leaf period. The corn growth characteristics and yield components were investigated. The seedling establishment rate by sowing date was in the range of 68.5~88.5%, and it showed a difference depending on the variety. The range of days from sowing to tassel and silk emergence by sowing date was 79.9~98.4 and 81.0~98.9 days, respectively. As the sowing date was delayed, the days from sowing to tassel and silk emergence decreased. The growth characteristics and yield of corn by sowing date are as follows. Plant height was the highest at 241.3 cm at the sowing on 25 March, and Stalk diameter was the thickest at 25.6 mm at the sowing on 31 March. The fresh weight per plant was the highest at 728 g at the sowing on 25 March, and the dry weight per plant was the highest at 185 g at the sowing on 31 March. Corn growth characteristics did not show a certain trend depending on the sowing date, and corn growth was more vigorous at the sowing on March 25 and 31 than the others. In the case of ear weight, it was the heaviest with 344 g at the sowing on 25 March, and filled ear length ratio showed a tendency to decrease as the sowing time was delayed. The weight of 100 grains and grain yield per 10a of maize were the highest at 36.0g and 878.7kg/10a, respectively at the sowing on 25 March. Although the growth and yield of corn for grain were good during early sowing in the central region of South Korea, it is necessary to investigate the limit temperature for early sowing of corn by examining the annual variation according to weather conditions.
