파형 곡면 위를 비행하는 2차원 WIG익형의 비정상 압축성 유동 해석 (Unsteady Compressible Flow past an Airfoil near the Moving Surface)

  • A two-dimensional airfoil flying over a wavy wall is calculated by solving the unsteady Euler equation. Unsteady Transonic flow over an NACA00012 airfoil in pitching motion has been computed for code validation. Some numerical results for NACA6409 airfoil under different wave number, wave length, fly height are presented. The numerical results show the variation of lift and pitching moment coefficients are increased as wave length decrease.

Observation of Spatial and temporal variability of sea skin surface temperature by a Thermal Infrared Camera

  • The MUBEX (MUtsu Bay sea surface temperature validation EXperiment) campaign has been held from 1995 to 1997 in summer. During the MUBEX campaign, a thermal infrared camera (TIC) installed on a research vessel, which was also equipped with other various observation devices, was intensively used to observe microscopic structure of sea skin surface temperature (SSST) behavior. We have now a total number of 500,000 images observed by the TIC under various weather conditions, i.e., very calm or wavy sea condition, and clear, patchy or cloudy sky condition. In this paper, we show typical SSST patterns observed by the TIC, and describe the result of statistical analysis of SSST.

Orientation Control of Polyoxometalate Nanoparticles in Organic- Inorganic Hybrid LB Films

  • Orientation control of a polyoxometalate (POM) nanoparticle in its two-dimensional arrangement was attempted by Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) technique. For their uniorientation, two carboxyl groups were introduced on one side of the POM particle, and hydrophobic long chains were attached by esterification with the carboxyl groups (C18-POM). The C18-POM layer spread on water surface showed stability against surface pressure up to 60 mN/m. The pattern of the C18-POM isotherm was quite different from stearyl alcohol (C18-OH), while the POM itself did not show any development of surface pressure on water surface. The AFM images of C18-POM LB films showed some microcrystalline structures that were noticed as dot structures by Brewster angle microscopy. The microimages for C18-POM did not completely spread out as a monolayer on the water surface. The XPS spectra indicated the presence of POM structures and stearyl ester bonds formed from about 65% of the total carboxyls. The XRD spectra showed that the unioriented POMs were not positioned with the same lattice distance but rather in a wavy surface state.

트랜섬 선미 후방의 점성 유동장 Topology 관찰 (Topological View of Viscous Flow behind Transom Stern)

  • Viscous flows behind transom stern are analyzed based on CFD simulation results. Stern wave pattern is often complicated due to the abrupt change of stern surface curvature and flow separation at transom. When a ship advances at high speed, whole transom stern is exposed out of water, resulting in the so-called 'dry transom'. However, in the moderate speed regime, stern wave development in conjunction of flow separation makes unstable wavy surface partially covering transom surface, i.e., the so-called 'wetted transom'. Transom wave formation is usually affecting the resistance characteristics of a ship, since the pressure contribution on transom surface as well as the wave-making resistance is changed. Flow modeling for 'wetted transom' is difficult, while the 'dry transom modeling' is often applied for the high-speed vessels. In the present study CFD results from the RANS equation solver using a finite volume method with level-set treatment are utilized to assess the topology of transom flow pattern for a destroyer model (DTMB5415) and a container ship (KCS). It is found that transom flow patterns are quite different for the two ships, in conformity to the shape of submerged transom. Furthermore, the existence of free surface seems to after the flow topology in case of KCS.

  • The surface etching characteristics of single crystalline silicon wafer were investigated using potassium hydroxide (KOH) and tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH). The saw damage layer was removed after 10min by KOH 45wt% solution at $80^{\circ}C$. The wafer etched at high temperature ($90^{\circ}C$) and in low concentration (4wt%) of TMAH solution showed an increased etch rate of silicon wafer and wavy patterns on the surface. Especially, pyramidal textures were formed in 4wt% TMAH solution without alcohol additives.

박막 절단용 PZT 구동 미세깊이 조절 장치의 특성 (Characteristics of a PZT-Driven Micro Depth Adjustment Device for Cutting Coated Film)

  • This study aims to develop a PZT-driven depth adjustment device with a flexure hinge and to investigate its static/dynamic characteristics. This device will be applied to rapidly and accurately trace a flat surface with slight waviness of up to several hundreds of micrometers in magnitude. One typical example is to cut a film coated on a steel plate. A depth control system composed of PMAC, PZT/PZT amplifier, flexure hinge/knife, and laser displacement sensor is implemented on a desktop three-axis machine and an actual cutting test is conducted on a steel workpiece with a sinusoidal-wavy surface. It is verified that the dynamic characteristics of the device limit the maximum cutting speed and depth precision.

  • 본 연구에서는 핫플레이트를 이용한 간단한 산화아연 박막의 열처리를 통해 역구조 유기 태양전지에서의 광전환 효율증가를 소개한다. 유기태양전지는 환경오염에 따른 신 재생에너지의 필요성이 대두되면서, 중요한 주제가 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 3차원 물결구조의 산화아연 박막을 핫플레이트를 이용하여, $180^{\circ}C$ 에서 산화아연의 3차원 물결구조의 형성에 성공하였다. 그리고 구조적 측면 뿐만 아니라, 아연 용액에 포함된 질소로 인해 산화아연의 밴드갭이 조절되어 유기태양전지의 효율이 증가했음을 확인 하였다. 또한 본 연구의 공정을 이용하여 PET 유연기판으로의 적용이 가능하다는 것을 확인 하였다.

Laboratory measurements of the drag coefficient over a fixed shoaling hurricane wave train

  • This paper presents results from a wind tunnel study that examined the drag coefficient and wind flow over an asymmetric wave train immersed in turbulent boundary layer flow. The modeled wavy surface consisted of eight replicas of a statistically-valid hurricane-generated wave, located near the coast in the shoaling wave region. For an aerodynamically rough model surface, the air flow remained attached and a pronounced speed-up region was evident over the wave crest. A wavelength-averaged drag coefficient was determined using the wind profile method, common to both field and laboratory settings. It was found that the drag coefficient was approximately 50% higher than values obtained in deep water hurricane conditions. This study suggests that nearshore wave drag is markedly higher than over deep water waves of similar size, and provides the groundwork for assessing the impact of nearshore wave conditions on storm surge modeling and coastal wind engineering.

파형이 있는 슬라이더 베어링의 윤활효과 (Lubrication effect of slider bearing with wavy surface)

  • The influence of sine wave striated surface roughness on load carrying capacity of a bearing is studied for thin film effect of slider bearing. A Reynolds equation appropriate for slider bearing is used in this paper for analysis and it is discussed using finite difference method of central difference scheme. For a slider bearing with sine wave simple roughness form, several parameters such as pressure, load capacity and shear stress of the bearing can be obtained and also this results can be stored in sequential data file for latter analysis. After all, their distribution can be displayed and analyzed easily by using the matlab GUI technique. The parameters such as amplitude, number of waviness and slope of the surface are used for discussing the load carrying capacity of the rectangular bearing. The results reported in this paper should be applied to the other slider bearing such as rectangular or round embossed surface of slider bearing.

3차원 표면효과익의 정상 및 비정상 성능해석 (Analysis of Steady and Unsteady Performance for 3-D Surface Effect Wing)

  • 본 논문은 자유수면 위를 가까이 비행하는 표면효과익선(Wing-in Ground Effect Craft)의 날개에 작용하는 정상(steady) 및 비정상(unsteady) 동유체력을 포텐셜 기저 패널법을 사용하여 수치해석을 수행한 결과이다. 파가 없는 고정수면 위를 비행하는 정상문제의 경우에 대해서는 단면변화, 앙각(angle of attack), 가로-세로비(aspect ratio), 날개 끝단판(end-plate)의 부착 유무 및 비행고도에 따른 양력 및 항력을 계산하여 풍동실험 결과와 비교하였다. 비정상문제에서는 이미 정의된 파표면 위를 표면효과익이 날아가는 경계치 문제로 해석하였다. 파장, 파고, 비행고도의 변화에 따른 날개에 작용하는 비정상 동유체력을 계산하여 파가 있을 경우 표면효과의 영향을 살펴보았다.
