  • We describe the experimental realization of image system using wavefront coding in 3-Mega pixel mobile phone camera. We designed aspheric lens to extend the depth of field (DOF) using wavefront coding. In addition, through the aspheric lens and lens barrel manufacturing, we obtained a raw image from a camera module. In our method, the acquired images are restored in the spatial frequency domain using the proposed filter and the spatial frequency response (SFR) is calculated. The proposed filters are composed of image denoising filter using low band pass filter in frequency domain and restoration filter for image restoration. Finally, we achieve an enhanced image by super-resolution image processing. Visual examples are given to demonstrate the performance of the proposed filter.

  • Adaptive optics(AO) removes or compensates the distortion caused by a turbulent atmosphere or medium. A wavefront sensormeasures the distortion, on which the correction of AO is based. A new idea of pupil plane wavefront sensing, which consists of a relay lens and a pyramidal-shaped prism, was previously proposed. This paper reviews the idea of pupil wavefrontsensing and presents prism, was previously proposed. The simulation shows that pupilwavefront sensing provides full wavefront sensing when the intensity peak of PSF is located within half of the Airy radius from the apex of the sensor. Adding to this, the sensor is shown to have optimum sensor output with a finite bevel size of the pyramidal prism.

  • The volumetric interferometer, which uses the interference of wavefronts emitted from two single mode fibers, measures the target position in 3-D. In this paper, we suggest a new calculation method which doesn't need a non-linear optimization and an initial guess. We find the relationship between the coefficients of the Zernike polynomials for a spherical wavefront and its center and reconstruct a spherical wavefront by using the Zernike polynomials from two interference fringes like a lateral shearing interferometer. The target position can be obtained from the coefficients of the Zernike polynomials of the reconstructed wavefront. We can get the target position in 3-D with $sub-{\mu}m$ errors in a simulation.

  • To overcome the capture-range problem in phase-diversity phase retrieval (PDPR), a geometrical-optics initial-estimate method is proposed to avoid a local minimum and to improve the accuracy of laser-wavefront measurement. We calculate the low-order aberrations through the geometrical-optics model, which is based on the two spot images in the propagation path of the laser, and provide it as a starting guess for the PDPR algorithm. Simulations show that this improves the accuracy of wavefront recovery by 62.17% compared to other initial values, and the iteration time with our method is reduced by 28.96%. That is, this approach can solve the capture-range problem.

  • The Schwarzchild-Chang telescope is a confocal off-axis two mirror telescope with D = 50 mm, F = 100 mm and FOV = 8 ° × 8 °. Unlike common off-axis telescopes, the mirrors of the Schwarzchild-Chang telescope share their focal points to remove the linear astigmatism. In this poster, we show the alignment process of the Schwarzchild-Chang telescope with wavefront measurement and the sensitivity table method. Wavefront is measured using the Shack-Hartmann sensor, and Zernike polynomials are obtained from measured wavefront. Sensitivity table method is to calculate alignment errors from the Zernike coefficients. As a result, we evaluate tilt, decenter, and despace of each mirror of linear astigmatism-free con-focal off-axis system.

  • Shack-Hartmann sensors are widely employed as a wavefront measuring device in various applications. Adaptive optics is one of the major applications. Since an adaptive optics system should be operated in real-time, high-speed wavefront sensing is essential. In high-speed operation, integration time of an image detector is very short. In this case, noises such as readout noise and photon noise greatly influence the accuracy of wavefront sensing. Therefore a fast and noise-insensitive centroid finding algorithm is required for the real-time wavefront sensing. In this paper, the multi-resolution correlation method is proposed. By employing multi-resolution images, this method greatly reduces the computation time when compared to the fast Fourier transform (FFT) correlation method. The verification is performed through the computational simulation. In this paper, the center of mass method, correlation method and multi-resolution correlation method are employed to compare the measurement accuracy of the centroid finding algorithms. The accuracy of a Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor using the proposed algorithm is proved to be comparable to that of the conventional correlation method.

  • The classical image reconstruction for stripmap-mode Synthetic Aperture Radar is the Range-Doppler algorithm. When the spotlight-mode SAR system was envisioned, Range-Doppler algorithm turned out to fail rapidly in this SAR imaging modality. Thus, what is referred to as Polar format algorithm, which is based on the Plane wave approximation, was introduced for imaging from spotlight-mode SAR raw- data. In this paper, we have studied for the raw data processing schemes in the spotlight-mode Synthetic Aperture Radar. We apply the Wavefront Reconstruction scheme that does not utilize the approximation in spotlight-mode SAR imaging modelity, and compare the performance of target imaging with the Polar format inversion scheme.
