Carbon Black의 수계분산에서 계면활성제의 영향 (Effect of Dispersing Agent for Carbon Black in Aqueous Systems)

  • The water-based ink has lately attracted considerable attention because of problems of energy and population. Carbon blacks have been widely utilized in water-based systems to provide pigmentation. One of the most important factors in the successful formulation of an aqueous system containing carbon black is the dispersion and the selection and proper utilization of the dispersing agent. This is similar to water-based ink. This paper discusses dispersion of carbon black with the factors affecting the dispersing agent requirement (DAR) and describes a laboratory method for determining it. Variables that affect the dispersion, such as structure, surface area, and oxidation level of the carbon black are examined through test data. Anionic and nonionic dispersing agents are evaluated using the DAR method. From this study, the increased surface area, the increased DAR is indicated. DAR is indicated to depend on HLB(Hydrophilic Lipophilic Balance) of dispersing agent and pH of dispersing system.

  • The hardening system of polyurethanes has usually caused by air pollution. bad working condition and fire hazard according to using orgarnic solvents. Therefore there have been researched on emulsion, water soluble and colloid-dispersion based water soluble instead of using organic solvents recently. This study synthesized polyurethane dispersing particle by means of mixing precursor and neutralized emulsion method. In the first step, polyurethane was preparated from isophorone diisocyanate and poly (ethylene-adipate) glycol, and got precursor by introducing dimethyl propionic acid as a hydrophilic group. Synthesized polyurethane was bonded to the surface of fiber and crosslinked as a anti-static agent, and then looked for the change of color and softening property.

분산형 필름제형의 물리적 특징에 미치는 폴리에틸렌글리콜의 영향 (Effect of Polyethylene Glycol on Physicochemical Property in Dispersing Film Formulation)

  • In this study, Indomethacin, the poorly water soluble drug, was selected and prepared dispersing oral disintegrating films according to the molecular weight of polyethylene glycol (PEG) which are sort of dispersing agents. Also the molecular weight and content of PEG were evaluated effect on the degree of dispersion, physical property and dissolution when making oral dispersing film containing indomethacin to find appropriate condition and suggested guidelines of making oral dispersing film. The appropriate dispersing ratio of the amount of surfactants and dispersing agent were 1% and 4%, also the stability dropped in the PEG molecular weight of 4000 or more. Drying time of oral dispersing film was $90^{\circ}C$ for 10 minutes to 12 minutes that dispersing film's property about flexibility, detachability were very good. The oral dispersion film's content used PEG 400 was $98.6{\pm}0.5%$ and the most uniform. As the molecular weight of PEG increased, dissolution time also increased. On the basis of evaluation parameter, PEG with 400~600 of molecular weight was selected as good dispersing agent in oral dispersing film. Therefore, it can be suggested guideline of preparation application study in oral dispersing film.

  • Recently, High Range Water Reducing Admixture be used increasingly in other to improve the demanded properties (fluidity, strength, durability etc.) and workability in concrete. These kinds of agent govern quality characteristics (air content, setting time, slump, bleeding etc) by the difference of its dispersing mechanism and performance in manufacture of flowed concrete. Accordingly, in this study, for the purpose of high quality construction in site, the comparative experiment of dispersing ability due to commercially available three types of agent were carried out in paste, mortar and concrete using tow types of cement (I, V). In conclusion, the bleeding reduction by the dispersing ability of agents was verified in the fresh properties of flowed concrete with sea water resistance.

시간경과, 교반 및 분산제 첨가에 따른 물-Al2O3 나노유체 열전도도 변화에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Thermal Conductivity Change of Water-Al2O3 Nanofluid with the Elapse of Time, Stirring, and Adding Dispersing Agent)

  • A water-$Al_2O_3$ nanofluid was manufactured, and its thermal conductivity was measured in this study. The measurement was performed at volumetric concentrations of 0.5%, 1%, 2%, and 3%, and the nanoparticle sizes were 20 nm and 70 nm. Experimental test equipment, using the transient hot wire method, was installed to measure the thermal conductivity of the nanofluid, and the measured results were confirmed by measuring pure water with a measurement error of 0.92% at $20^{\circ}C$. The thermal conductivity enhancement ranged from 4.8% to 13.6% for the 20 nm particle size, and from 3.1% to 8.8% for the 70 nm particle size at a concentration range of 0.5% to 3%. The enhancement increased with a decrease in particle size and an increase in concentration. With the elapse of time after manufacturing the nanofluid, the thermal conductivity enhancement decreased significantly from 5 to 9 h, and this trend was measured under all of the measurement conditions. After 24 h, the enhancement ranged from 1.2% to 3.5% for the 20 nm particles, and from 0.6% to 2.3% for the 70 nm particles. The enhancement trends with the elapse of time were almost identical with and without stirring the nanofluid. SDBS (Sodium Dodecyl Benzene Sulfonate) was added as a dispersing agent, and the decrease in the thermal conductivity enhancement was delayed.

  • Super water-absorbent resins were prepared by inverse suspension copolymerization of sodium acrylate, acrylamide and 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate using N, N'-methylene-bis-acrylamide as cross-linker. For the suspension copolymerization, monohexadecyl phosphate was employed as the dispersing agent, cyclohexane as the dispersing medium and potassium persulfate as the initiator. The dependence of water-absorption capacity on the amount of crosslinking agent, oil/water ratio, degree of neutralization and the composition of the copolymer were systematically investigated. Furthermore, the swelling kinetics of the super water-absorbent copolymer was carried out. The absorption of the resins is more than 1800 g/g for deionized water and 100 g/g for 0.9% NaCl solution, respectively. The copolymers showed an increased salt resistance and enhanced water retention of soil.

겔 작용에 의한 쿼터늄-18 헥토라이트를 사용한 Water-in-Oil 에멀젼의 안정화 기술 (Stabilizing Technology of water-in-Oil Emulsification with Quaternium-18 Hectorite by Gelling Action)

  • This study is described the stabilizing technology of water-in-oil (w/o) emulsion and the mechanism of emulsification with quaternium-18 hectorite (Q-18 HTRT) by swelling action. When Q-18 HTRT is dispersed in oil, it swells and constructs card-house structure adding ethanol, and formation of water phase is caused by hydrogen bonding. The gelling activities of Q-18 HTRT were excellent such as mineral oil, squalane, cetostearyl isononanoate, isostearic acid, cetyl octanoate, octyl dodecanol and so on. Especially, when oil gel containing Q-18 HTRT passed one to three times by Roll mill. It made the W/O emulsion cream (W/O-ECRM) having 2.0 w/w% of Q-18 HTRT and also produced the control sample (control) including 3.0 w/w% of cetyl PEG/PPG- l0/l dimethicone. The stability of after 24 weeks, Hardness of W/O-ECRM dropped 7.48%, whereas hardness of control went down 57 71%. As a result of these test emulsification of W/O-ECRM is superior compared with control. In cosmetic, 0-18 HTRT can use as suspending agent, oil adsorbent, emulsifying agent, dispersing agent, viscosifier and pigment.

건조된 저등급석탄과 첨가제 및 입자크기에 대한 석탄-물 혼합연료(CWF)의 특성 (Characteristics of Coal Water Fuel by Various Drying Coals, Surfactants and Particle Size Distribution Using Low Rank Coal)

  • 본 연구에서는 석탄 종류, 저등급석탄으로부터 첨가제의 종류, 입도분포 및 건조 방법에 따른 석탄-물 혼합연료(coal water fuel, CWF)의 고체함유량을 높이고자 하였다. 건조 방법에는 열풍 건조 방법(flash drying, FD), 유동층 건조 방법(fluidized bed, FB), 유중 건조 방법(oil deposit stabilized, ODS)을 사용하였다. 석탄 종류에 의해서 고체함유량 차이는 최대 20% 이상 보였다. 또한, CWF을 제조할 때 넣어주는 첨가제의 종류를 다르게 하여 실험한 결과 첨가제에 의해서 5%까지 효율을 더 높일 수 있었다. 석탄의 입도분포는 $75{\mu}m$ 이하의 미분탄이 80% 함유되어야 CWF의 성능이 향상되는 것을 관찰하였다. 3가지 건조 방법을 활용하여 CWF를 제조해본 결과, 안정화시킨 유중 건조 석탄이 원탄에 비하여 12% 정도 더 높은 고체함유량을 갖는 CWF를 제조할 수 있는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • 각기 다른 종류의 입상담체(extruded pellets, sands, zeolites)를 이용하여 보조제의 종류와 조성을 달리하고 주성분을 피복 또는 흡착시켜 제제한 제제품과 조립흡착식으로 제조된 butachlor + chlometholefen(3.5 + 7.0%, 부로트 입제) 혼합입제의 부유성, 수중확산 또는 붕괴성, 수중용출도 및 생물효과를 비교하여 우수한 물성 및 효과를 갖는 용출제어형 입제 제조법을 개발하고자 하였다. 물성이 다른 원제를 이용하여 입제를 제조하기 위해서 여러 제조방식을 이용하는데 원제 2개 이상 혼합된 입제를 제조하기 위해서 고상인 원제와 증량제 및 보조제를 첨가시켜 조립한 뒤 여기에 액상 원제를 흡착시켜 제조한 입제는 우수한 부유성과 수중붕괴성, 안정된 수중용출도를 나타내었으며, 생물효과도 안정적으로 발휘시킬 수 있었다. 기립입자를 담체로 이용하여 피복 또는 흡착시킨 기립피복식 입제들은 부유성, 수중붕괴성 및 생물효과면에서 기존 입제와 대등하거나 우수하였지만 불안정한 수중용출 경향을 나타내었다. 그러나 모래피복형의 경우 기립피복식이나 지오라이트피복식과 달리 액상의 binder가 비교적 안정적으로 주성분들의 수중용출에 도움을 주었고 분상의 dispersing agent보다 액상이 부유성, 수중붕괴성 및 생물효과 면에서 기존과 비슷했거나 좋았던 결과로 볼 때 적절한 binder와 액상의 dispersing agent를 선택하여 제조한다면 기존 조립흡착식 입제와 대등하거나 우수한 물성 및 생물효과를 발현하는 입제를 개발할 수 있는 제조방식인 것으로 판단되었다.

Mechanical and Water Repellent Properties of Cycloaliphatic Epoxy/Microsilica/Nanosilica Composite

  • The effect of the content of microsilica and nanosilica continuously modified with hydroxy silane and epoxy-modified silicone in cycloaliphatic epoxy/microsilica/nanosilica composites (EMNCs) on the mechanical and water repellent properties was evaluated. Surface-modified micro- and nanosilica was well-mixed with a cycloaliphatic epoxy resin in the presence of polyester-modified polydimethylsiloxane (PEM-PDMS) as a dispersing agent using an ultrasonicator. Tensile and flexural tests were carried out using a universal testing machine (UTM). The water repellent property was evaluated by contact angle measurements of water on the composite surface. Tensile strength of the composite could be enhanced by 32.2% up to 91.4 MPa, and the flexural strength was raised to 122.0 MPa, which is 38.8% higher than that of neat epoxy. The contact angle of water on the composite was as high as $104.1^{\circ}$.
