침지형 한외여과 막공법과 역삼투 공법을 이용한 하.폐수처리 (Wastewater Treatment Using Ultrafiltration (UF) and Reverse Osmosis (RO) Process)

  • 세계적인 물부족을 해결하는 대안 중의 하나는 하수 재이용이다. 본 연구는 A시의 하수를 UF와 RO 공법으로 처리하여 인근지역의 공업용수로 재사용이 가능한지의 여부를 확인하고자 하였다. A시의 하수를 UF와 RO로 처리한 결과 Na, Mg, Cl, Ca, Mn, $PO_4$, $SO_4$ 등은 원수 대비 97% 이상의 높은 처리 효율을 보였으나, $NH_4$-N, TN, $NO_3$-N, BOD등의 영양염류는 각각 35.71%, 85.21%, 87.05% 그리고 56%로 상대적으로 낮은 제거율을 보였다. 그러나 영양염류는 원수 자체의 함유량이 소량 이여서 하수 처리수 공업용수 재이용수질 권고 기준을 만족하는데 문제가 없었다. 그 외의 측정항목 또한 하수 처리수 공업용수 재이용수질 권고 기준을 만족하여 인근지역의 공업용수로 재사용에는 문제가 없을 것으로 예상된다.

하수처리수의 재이용을 위한 벼 재배시험 (Rice Cultivation with Reclaimed Wastewater Irrigation for Wastewater Reuse)

  • The objective of the research is to develop agricultural resue technologies of reclaiming the effluents from a municipal wastewater treatment plant and reusing for irrigated rice paddies. The Suwon wastewater treatment plant was selected for wastewater reuse tests. The control was the plots with groundwater irrigation (TR#1), the treatment (TR#2) using polluted stream water as it was, and three others using wastewater after treatment. Three levels of wastewater treatments were employed: the effluent from the wastewater treatment plant (TR#3), sand filtering after treatment plant(TR#4), and ultra-violet treatment after sand filtering (TR#5). The randomized block method was applied to wastewater application to paddy rice with five treatments and six replica. The effects of various wastewater treatment levels on water quality, paddy soil, crop growth, yields, and the health hazards were investigated. The primary results indicate that cultivating rice with reclaimed wastewater irrigation did not cause a problem to adverse effects on crop growth and yields. Overall, wastewater could be used as a practical alternative measure for reclaimed wastewater irrigation. However, long-term monitoring is recommended on the effects on soil chemical characteristics and its related health concerns.

  • As an alternative water resources development, wastewater reuse for agricultural and instream uses are expected to be fond of the limelight. In order to find the feasible reuse system scheme for reclaimed water in real field, existing reuse sites were investigated for water quantity, quality, and irrigation scheme. From the results, most of sites supplied reclaimed water with a request of the users(farmers) and reuse techniques for agricultural use were to be needed in the sites which supplied over yearly $1.0{\times}10^6$ ton as agricultural water.

물재이용을 고려한 도시지역의 물순환 해석 (Analysis of Urban Water Cycle Considering Water Reuse Option)

  • Water cycle analysis was performed for Gunja basin located in metropolitan Seoul using Aquacycle model in order to assess the problems of urban water cycle. From the water cycle analysis of Gunja basin, it was found that 75% of total rainfall occurred in the form of surface runoff, and groundwater recharge only accounted for about 7%. This suggests serious distortion of water cycle which can be attributed to urbanization. Feasibility analysis of reuse scenarios such as rainwater use and wastewater reuse was then performed to examine their influences on improving the water cycle. From the analysis of water reuse options, it was shown that imported water supply savings of 13% can be achieved through rainwater use, and water supply savings of 31% through wastewater reuse.

정밀여과법 하수재이용 공정에서 오존의 전처리 효과에 관한 연구 (Effect of Ozonation in Microfiltration Membrane for Wastewater Reuse)

  • The Ozone oxidation process was applied to increase the efficiency of reuse process when treating the secondary effluent by the membrane system. This paper focus on decreasing efficiency of membrane fouling, because of membrane fouling reduction by ozone and evaluation of application of the ozone oxidation. The feed water was secondary effluent from BNR process. The result shows that the ozone pretreatment can reduce membrane fouling effectively. Also, the improvement of treated water quality was obvious. The reduction of the membrane fouling led decrease of following pollutant and increase of lnner adsorptive ability of hydrophilic organic matter and decrease of molecular weight. MF membrane process alone can meet the domestic reuse water standards. And ozone pretreatment process also can increase the removal rates of turbidity, COD, nitrogen, and color.

  • For volume reduction of the wastewater generated on washing the soil contaminated with cobalt, recycling and reuse experiments of the wastewater were executed. Also. the soil remediation efficiency by repetitive washing with fresh citric acid was analyzed. The soil around TRIGA was sampled for the experiment. Results of recycling experiment by replacement-precipitation method were as follows. The remediation efficiency of 1st recycling wastewater was 97% and that of 2nd recycling wastewater was 94%. Also, To obtain remediation efficiency over than 90%, the 5th repetitive washing with fresh citric acid was needed.

하수재이용 막여과 공정에서 막오염 저감을 위한 마이크로버블 적용성 평가 (Applicability evaluation of microbubble for membrane fouling reduction in wastewater reuse membrane process)

  • This study applied microbubbles to reduce membrane fouling in wastewater reuse membrane processes, evaluated and compared the transmembrane pressure with or without the application of microbubbles and the cleaning efficiency with the application of aeration and microbubbles. In addition, this study analyzed foulants removed from the membrane surface. Changes in the transmembrane pressure of membranes with the presence or absence of microbubbles were observed. As a result, transmembrane pressure (TMP) increasing rate decreased twofold when applying microbubbles to realize stable operations. This study compared and evaluated cleaning efficiency applying aeration and microbubbles. As a result, the cleaning efficiency was 5% higher on average when applying microbubbles. In turbidity and total organic carbon (TOC), foulants were discharged when applying microbubbles twice as much as applying aeration. It is thought that particulate foulants precipitated on the membrane surface were more likely to desorb because the adhesion between the membrane surface and particle was weakened by microbubbles. Therefore, it is considered possible to effectively control membrane fouling because of the increase in cleaning efficiency when applying microbubbles to wastewater reuse membrane processes.

하수 재이용수의 활용을 위한 경제성 분석: 용인시 소재 골프장 조경용수 공급 (Economic analysis of reclaimed water reuse: a case study of Yongin-si water reuse)

  • 최근 물 사용량의 증가와 잦은 가뭄 발생으로 인해 물 부족 현상이 심화되고 있다. 따라서 기존 취수원에 대한 의존도를 줄이고 버려졌던 물의 재이용을 활성화하여 친환경적이며 지속가능한 대체수원을 확보할 필요성이 부각되고 있다. 국내에서 활용가능한 물 재이용 방법은 빗물재이용, 중수 재이용 및 하수재이용 등 크게 세 가지로 구분할 수 있으나, 아직 국내에는 물 재이용이 활발하게 추진되고 있지 않다. 본 연구에서는 세 가지 물 재이용 방안 중 연중 발생량이 일정하고 이용가능 수량이 많으며, 수질이 비교적 양호한 하수재이용수의 활용방안을 모색하였다. 적용대상 지역으로 선정한 용인시는 총 26곳의 골프장이 운영 중에 있으며 이는 전국에서 운영 중인 골프장의 약 10%에 해당한다. 골프장은 시설 운영을 위해 많은 양의 용수를 소비하는 대규모 수요처이므로 재이용수를 활용한다면 큰 경제적, 사회 환경적 편익을 얻을 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구에서는 용인시를 대상으로 하수처리장 인근에 위치한 골프장 내 조경용수로 하수재이용수를 활용하였을 경우의 경제적 효과를 비용 및 편익 추정을 통해 분석하였다.

용수재이용을 위한 하수처리 유출수의 UV 소독 후 광회복 조사 (Photoreactivation Study of Wastewater Treatment Effluent Disinfected by UV-disinfection for Water Reuse)

  • Photoreactivation of microorganism following UV-disinfection is one of the research topics of interest in assessing the UV-disinfection performance. Apparent photoreactivation was examined under fluorescent lamp and solar radiation as well as in darkness. Total coliform, fecal coliform, and Escherichia coli were used as indicator microorganisms, and their concentration was monitored with time after UV-disinfection. Under the darkness, their initial concentration of 10∼30 MPN/100 mL increased to the level of 100 MPN/100 mL after 24 hours, which implied that part of damaged microorganisms by UV-disinfection might be repairable with time. Under the fluorescent lamp, photoreactivation was more apparent that their concentration increased up to 1,000 MPN/100 mL which might significantly impair the water uses specially in reuse of reclaimed wastewater. However, their concentration further decreased down to below 2 MPN/100 mL under the solar radiation primarily due to additional disinfection by solar radiation rather than photoreactivation. Samples not disinfected by UV-disinfection also demonstrated substantial decrease of their concentration under solar radiation from about 5,000 MPN/100 mL to less than 30 MPN/100 mL in 24 hours. But direct reuse of effluent without disinfection is not recommended because natural decay by solar radiation may take time and be affected by climatic conditions. The result suggests that photoreactivation of pathogenic microorganisms may not be concerned in agricultural reuse of reclaimed wastewater because solar radiation may provide further disinfection after UV-disinfection.

전처리 MF의 다양한 역세 공정을 적용한 하수재이용 파일럿 플랜트 연구 (Study of MF membrane as pretreatment option using various backwash process from wastewater reuse pilot plant)

  • Various studies have forwarded an outstanding wastewater effluent treatment systems toward securing sustainable supply of water sources. In this paper, a broad overview of the performance of MF membrane as pretreatment option for wastewater reuse will be presented based on the literature survey and experiments conducted over the wastewater reuse pilot plant. The pilot plant was operated with a continuous data acquisition for about 300days under various chemical enhanced backwash (CEB) system with subsequent treated water quality analysis. Accordingly, assessment of the effluent revealed that the pretreated water is suitable enough to be used as an input for Reverse Osmosis (RO) unit and significant effect of CEB and concentration of NaOCl is also conceived from the analysis. Moreover, it's also observed that the application of various CEB condition over long operational hours induced a constant declination of overall performance of MF membrane.
